She/her. Recently got back into drawing, wanted a spot to post and encourage myself to keep at it. Mostly my doodles but also other creative interests, music, food etc. Enjoy 😊

Waterfall

Waterfall
Came across a picture of a waterfall which was probably done in low light. I thought it looked cool and I tried using it as inspiration for a quick pastel sketch.

Waterfall Tree Sunset
Another James Julier tutorial.
I don’t know, I feel like if there were more cherry blossom trees this could be a scene from a xianxia drama 😁
Already into my April pictures, May wasn’t super productive art wise, I think I need to draw a little more this month or I might start running out of art.

Procreate App Update
I’ve been posting in chronological order so far, but thought I’d post something a little more current and timely today 😊
The Procreate app updated recently to add the “roll” feature they had promised during the recent Apple iPad event and this past weekend I decided to have a look. Lisa Bardot did a YouTube presentation with some of her new brushes. It looks like there will probably be a slight learning curve, but it should make for some fun brushes and paintings.
The above were two quick tests using a couple of her sample brushes, these were definitely good to practice the pencil twist! I look forward to more brushes coming out incorporating the new “roll”. 😊

Ferry Doodles - Cherry Blossoms 🌸
A quick drawing of a cherry blossom tree in pastels. I continued to practice the select and copy feature, didn’t draw all those flowers individually!
Could have probably added more flowers, but we were docking and we had to go back to the car. Not all cherry trees are overflowing with blossoms after all 😊

The Art of Soup - Passata di Verdure
This one pretty much is more art than science. I kind of use it as a way to use up old vegetables before they go bad. It’s never good to waste food, especially nowadays. It’s a question of achieving the right combination of flavours, sometimes I’ve gotten a really tasty soup, but unfortunately I never remember the combo of vegetables I used to achieve it 😊. It’s also great and simple enough for freezing.
This one while not the best was a very good soup. I finished it off with some pasta and a touch of extra virgin olive oil. My plating could still use some work though.

Palm Tree Tropical Island Tutorial
This would be my third James Julier tutorial, the second that I completed. A nice beach scene with classic palm trees. I think I’m getting better at following along 😊
