a word of advice for my fellow writers who also struggle heavily with pacing: SLOW DOWN. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SLOW DOWN. YOU ARE NOT DRIVING ON THE AUTOBAHN YOU HAVENT EVEN PROPERLY ESTABLISHED THE SETTING YET GIRL SLOW DOWN. always add more context and exposition than you think you need
