So Not Only Is Lotor Physically Distancing Himself From The Rest Of His Team, But Hes Crossing His Arms

So not only is Lotor physically distancing himself from the rest of his team, but he’s crossing his arms across his chest so tight, he’s making an even bigger barrier between himself and them. He looks like he’s deep in thought and I feel like here he’s honestly just totally shut down for one of the first times in the series that we’ve seen so far. He doesn’t even have a weapon on him to fight back against Acxa.

Lotor’s closing himself off to everyone, including us, the audience. We haven’t been let in to his mind or his heart. And I really, really hope that the paladins can give us that insight and at least we get a little peek.

This isn’t asking for a redemption arc. Lotor doesn’t need redeeming. He needs a story, and it’s clear he’s reluctant to tell not only his generals, but us, too.

Anyway I just thought this imagery and body language was pretty interesting. There’s definitely so much more to this than we know right now.

Here’s to hoping we get some deeper insight into his plans, and what exactly he’s hoping for with all the quintessence he wants to gather, and the Sincline ships.

I will never betray Lotor

Oh man, where to start.

My entire feed is filled with “Justice for Narti” “Down with Lotor”, and all i can think about is how nobody’s looking at the situation from Lotor’s point of view. We’re so quick to jump down his throat for killing Narti, but let’s actually analyze the situation.

During this scene, Lotor’s ship is being attacked by countless fleets, there are literally seconds to make decisions, very important ones. Where to go, whose doing what etc. Narti is the only one who went inside with Lotor, so when Lotor caught on that she was being used for tracking, he killed her.

Yes, killing Narti fucking sucked, and i think everyone just thinks that Lotor did that because he’s a bad guy, but he’s not.

Let’s say that he wanted to save her, how? With literally a few seconds to decide, there was no room for error. Lotor did not know the extent of Narti’s “controlled mind/being a traitor” or whatever was going on with her, so he just assumed she was a spy and promptly killed her. I don’t think this was bad thinking on his part, and i don’t think he was being heartless. His mother’s powers go way beyond what we know, as well as Lotor’s powers. Lotor could have easily sensed that she was under control or a traitor, maybe under a control that she could not be freed from easily, if she could be freed from it at all.

I would also like to point out that i personally do not think that Narti was controlled. I believe that the cat was the real mastermind behind all of it, using Narti as a decoy for Lotor so that when Lotor did catch on, he would blame Narti, and kill an innocent comrade, all without his knowing, but I’ll assume that Lotor killed Narti under the presumption that either he thought she was being controlled, or that she was a traitor, since i doubt that Lotor is unaware that that is his mother’s cat. Thus, for him to think that Narti was probably working for Haggar is not a stretch.

“Well, he could have done something else?”

What? What could he have done? Take her with them? So that they can continue to be followed and their operations further compromised, and for what because the fandom likes her (there’s literally no other reason)? Taking her along would have risked putting the other generals’ lives in danger. TAKING NARTI ALONG WOULD HAVE PUT THE OTHER GENERALS’ LIVES IN DANGER.

You want to talk about Lotor protecting his group, he was. Leaving her behind alive would subject her to being tortured until everything was spilled about the other generals and Lotor himself. Or, she would have burned up in the ship, been shot, or something else that would have been agonizing to her had they just left her. There was no time to consult with the others about what’s morally right or wrong because that would have wasted time none of them have and could have potentially KILLED THEM ALL. Lotor may seem cold to just off her in one blow, but he may have been saving her from a dreadful experience of torture and control. You’ve all seen Haggar’s power, you all know how powerful she is, what makes you think that Lotor could have saved her? That Lotor is to blame? He made a decision for the team that he knew the team could not make.

The part where this gets less complicated is where the other girls come in. Why did they not stand by Lotor? Well, aside from seeing Narti be killed, it was a lack of communication on Lotor’s part. Lotor could have easily told them that she was being controlled, or that she was a traitor, but he did not. So any attack from them was solely because of lack of communication. Even if they were super upset and mad at Lotor for killing Narti, it would have made a huge difference in their actions had he simply told them what was up. Same for them, since none of them question his actions and just assume that he’s a crazy tyrant asshole that only cares for himself.

Bottom line, justice for Narti is deserved, but not through the downright hate of Lotor.

If you want to point fingers at anyone, point them at the writers of the damn show for killing a side character.

Lotor has lost everything. His family, his empire, the support from the fandom, and even his allies. Here’s to hoping that Keith will take his side and befriend him, cause i think that’s really all that Lotor needs.

rant OVER
