here comes a greek tragedy

after arya’s partner twists his ankle during a particularly stressful practice, her coach believes the best course of action is to ask arya’s former hookup to help her practice. what could go wrong?

credit to @oryss for the idea in this post!! i saw it and fell in love and then proceeded to take like a year to write it ahahaha i’m a mess i apologize but i’m so excited to finally post this bad boy and i hope you all like it !! :)))

Alright! Thank you for asking me this!

The most recent thing I’ve got is a giant blob of pure dialogue, so I’ll give some more to make up for the lack of sentences and to add some context:

“I’m the sheepherder.”

“Okay, you cannot say that menacingly.”

“Shut up, yes I can! I’m the sheepherder!”

“Oh my god, wait, we need to pull over so I can record this. I’ve never heard anything funnier in my life.”

“Stop laughing, I’m scary! I’m the sheepherder and I’m going to knock you down with my...sheepherding cane!”

“And you say I’m the stubborn one. Also, isn’t it shepherd?”

“Shut up!”

And the last two sentences of the last scene that I’m 100% sure will actually make it in?

“Pick you up tomorrow?” He calls out loud enough for the whole block to hear from the window at her back, waiting until she’s just reached the front door.

She wheels around, exaggeratedly whispering “Shhh!”, with a smile on her face and her index finger over her mouth, before lowering it and responding, “You bet.”

All from the same wip! (Oh my god I have a wip!) A whole lot of next door neighbor friendships and car drives and banter! I hope you enjoyed it!

So true! It’s absolutely beautiful, the fic and the fan art are both so lovely! Like, the simplistic elegance and aesthetic the art! The flowing, capturing-one-moment-at-a-time feel of the fic! They go so well together, you both did such an amazing job!

i started making this when i realized you didn’t do the exchange, which was also when you started openly THREATENING to end the story before new year’s. it’s a lil map of the trip arya and gendry take through the story with each line representing a chapter, along with a hat nod to ashemark. it’s truly wild to see how much territory you covered with your writing, both literally by bodying all of westeros, and figuratively in your exploration of mental health, family, love, healing, and hope.

it’s been a profound undertaking to witness, like watching a magnus opus form in real time. i often wonder what it would’ve been like to have been in this fandom years ago when some major fics were being published. and then the stars gave us ttlr and every update has been a true experience of whoa. this. this is what it would’ve been like. and it’s fucking incredible.
