Hello everyone, I'd like to make an update on a campaign I've talked about many times before.

Siraj is still trapped in Ghazza with his family. He has lost his home, his livelihood, and any form of stability in his life.

He has been displaced 6 times, has no easy access to basic human needs like food and water, and must walk 3km every single day just so he can get an internet connection.

Luckily, Siraj has reached two of his previous goals, but as the intended deadline for his third draws closer, things have begun to stall.

Siraj needs to reach $30,000 CAD by the end of this week. Currently, he's raised $24,962. This means he still needs to raise $5,038 CAD in order to reach his goal by this Saturday; 4 days.

Please, I ask all of you, donate to Siraj's campaign if your able and share it. He spent over 10 years building that house and his life, and he and his family deserve to rebuild and live happily.

With this goal met, he will be that much closer to his total goal of $82,000 CAD. I know we can all get him there, so please do what you can to help.

None of it helped Siraj avoid a stagnant campaign. He gets short bursts of activity ( he is grateful for every dollar, trust me he expresses joy at every $5 dollar donation ) but, after that the campaign stagnates for days. So all that is happening is that I am getting activity. My notes have filled up, my phone does not stop pinging- but for Siraj it is the same as always with donations trickling in slowly.

Siraj does not have time. He cannot afford time. He is not evacuating, not because he is safe or has time, but because he refuses to be a refugee. Refuses for the occupation to throw him out of his city. Anything can happen to Siraj ( May God keep him safe, I hate to even think about this) , but anything can happen...who would rebuild his house then? Who would fulfill his promise to his children?

The time is now! Every second passes in Gaza in a terrible sort of limbo!!

Siraj doesn't know what will happen in the next day, when he has to travel 3 km to reach the Internet point. The occupation forces have attacked many on the way there. But Siraj still has to brave that road, hoping that somehow, someday he will have enough friends who are willing to donate. A journalist by profession, he offers you the truth in exchange of your support. So please help him. Please listen.

dear people with OCD: the next time you have spiraling & intrusive thoughts, what-ifs, or catastrophizing scenarios, I am sending a cardigan-wearing 46-year old NYU professor directly into your brain and he says "Aaaaand scene!!!" and he claps his hands slowly. and he says "Wow. Wow. Powerful stuff. Evocative imagery. A little bit post-modern, a little bit hysterical realism in the vein of Don Delilo but let's pause right here." and you will recognize your thoughts as a perplexing avant-garde film shown to an audience of 15 liberal arts students who are now trying to get a good grade and sleep with their professor.

The conditions in the gaza are inhumane and extremely mentally taxing. It geniunely takes so much strength to still bother with posting on the internet (which usually includes walking under the middle eastern sun for miles, paying money than you really don't have for hotspot access, and of course being in a active warzone where you life is always at threat) after being constantly disappointed, losing all hope, and everything else during genocide. It's not easy to push through anyway when you're certain you won't make it. So it's truly admirable that Nesma found it in herself to keep fighting for her family despite it all. So please don't meet Nesma's continued calls for help with silence.

We are at 91,228/100k USD. There has been no donations in the last 4 hours. Can we maybe try to 92k by the end of the day? Which would just mean making 772$ by midnight (edt), and we would just need ≈40$ every hour till then to make it to make it.
