At 18 years old, Janna was supposed to be in her final year of high school; she was among the highest-ranking students. She loved to recite poetry and the Quran for her family; at gatherings they would recite together.
They were a cultured family who loved embroidery and reading books.
They remained in the North and together they became martyrs on the December 8th; when their home, where they had sought safety, was bombed.

We have been through many wars before, but this war was not like the ones before it. Our lives were turned upside down. We became displaced from one place to another. We are the Anas family, residents of northern Gaza, specifically in the Shujaiya area. In the first week of the war, we fled our home because everyone considered our home to be in a dangerous area. We moved to the Rimal area, specifically in the middle of Gaza. There, we received the news that our home, which contained all our beautiful memories, was bombed. Suddenly, it was gone!!! Just thinking that your home, which you worked hard on and built from scratch and took a lot of your life, was gone in less than a second ! After a while, we left the sands to the Al-Zawaida area because of the heavy shelling. We stayed there for about two weeks, and then the terrorist army asked us to go to Rafah. We actually fled for the fourth time to Rafah and stayed there for two months, some of the most difficult days of our lives, as there was no way or means to live a normal life. 😔😔 After that, because of the invasion of Rafah, we moved to Deir al-Balah. Now, we are in very difficult and oppressive circumstances.
We are asking you with all shame to support and stand by us in these difficult circumstances that everyone knows because we lost our home, our work and any stable source of income. Thank you all.

If you spend most of your time on the internet like I do, there’s a 99.99999999% (pretty much 100%) chance that you’ve heard about what’s happening (and HAS been happening, for 75+ years) in Gaza. First off, if you condone ANY ethnic cleansing of ANY sort, get off my page.
Second, what I wanted to talk about originally, is that I’ve been working on a song about this situation for the past three days or so. I’m stating this because I intend on not only informing others about what’s happening by telling a very possibly real story about someone experiencing it firsthand, but I also intend to donate all royalties from this song to Palestinian aid charities as well as families in need. There’s a lot of work to be done before it’s released, but if you’re able to stream it or share it when it is released, it would mean the world.

My entire twitter feed is people in Rafah saying they’re terrified, saying their good byes, and asking us to remember them in our prayers. Rafah is facing a massacre. It’s a genocide. We will not know the number of deaths until the morning.
What Do I and my Family in Gaza Matter Anyway?!
The heartwarming solidarity we Gazans get in such difficult times is medicine for our sick broken hearts. Do NOT underestimate the positive influence of your gestures of kindness and hearty good wishes that you offer Gazans during this genocidal war.
In pursuing our inherent rights to freedom, dignity, self-determination, and sovereignty, we need every gesture of support from the free world. Please, choose to be on the right side of history. Choose to stand with the helpless victimized people living in the harshest conditions imaginable in the biggest open-air prison in the world: Gaza.
I spent four months of the war in Gaza before I was evacuated alone leaving my family behind to face the scary unknown. I know very well how hellish the life my family and all Gazans are living. For me, the most difficult time of the day during the four months was the scary thoughts I had before drifting off. Thoughts about ending up as lifeless corpses under the rubble the next morning. The possibility that it might be the last time I shut my eyes for sleep. It happened to thousands of people in Gaza, and if it were to happen to us, that wouldn't change the course of the universe! What do I and my family matter ANYWAY?!

Urgent Plea from Wafaa: Save Her Daughters and Grandchildren
Wafaa's family is verified by Hussein (@el-shab-hussein) and Nairuz (@nabulsi) on their spreadsheet (family number 171).
As you may know, tumblr shadowbanned Wafaa on her old blog for three times in two weeks, which prompted her to create a new (now defunct) blog, which lost messaging within 12 hours of creating it, and then promptly got deleted without notice. The response I got when approaching staff about the frequent shadowbans Wafaa was dealt can be read here. tumblr refused to restore Wafaa's account and said any new blog would experience the same treatment.
By now Wafaa has not seen her 6 hardworking daughters (who all have promising careers and educations in front of them) as well as her 4 grandchildren (the oldest of them being 5 years old, and the youngest of whom is born in December of last year, just 6 months old) in five months.
Three weeks ago, Wafaa received news that her beloved sister and niece were both martyred by an iof bombing. Wafaa is anxious to not lose any of her other loved ones and hopes to reach her campaign goal before the start of August, which is when unofficial sources have said Rafah crossing will be opening again.
I would also like to bring your attention to one of Wafaa's daughters, who had to give birth in a compromised hospital in December while suffering from an intense chest wound from iof bomb shrapnel. She was unable to get sufficient prenatal nor postpartum care for herself nor her son, and now is suffering major complications not just from inadequate care but also from infection from her badly healed chest wound. Because of stress and infection, Wafaa's daughter has not been able to breastfeed her infant son, who because of this has been suffering from malnutrition, which could have debilitating long term effects.
Please, do not look away from this family. We have raised about 84% for Wafaa already, let's maintain this momentum until the end of the month to reunite Wafaa with them!!!

This family needs food, water and medication and they are trying to escape Rafah for safety in Egypt.

i can't stop thinking about the lack of shade in gaza. with so many trees and buildings destroyed, there can't be very much shade. it's incredibly hot and there's very little protection from the sun and very little water. my weather app tells me the UV index reached 11 recently. it's inhumane to force people to live in such conditions.
