First, the weather changed.
When the world ended and the planet froze to death, the remnants of humanity boarded a massive locomotive perpetually circling the globe to escape an icy demise.
A select few paid handsomely for the privilege to continue living in luxury on board this Great Ark. Some were chosen and granted passage in exchange for valuable labor skills. So many others weren't so lucky, having to force their way in for survival.
Not all of the desperate stowaways made it.
What was once a global population of countless billions is now reduced to a pitiful three thousand; crippled by their greed and hubris, trapped in a marvel of extraordinary engineering that is endlessly in motion, around and around it goes without end, traversing frozen wastelands with impossibly cold temperatures that can kill all manner of living things in seconds.
This is the miracle caravan powered by the Infinity Engine and invented by the wealthy and visionary transportation magnate, Mr. Thanos.
His sacred train runs on two key principles: order and balance.
From tip to tail, every single passenger should always be in their rightful place.
Except for two survivors separated by class and circumstance.
Thor Odinson resided in First Class. Peter Jason Quill lived in the Tail Section.
The former has lived a life of excess, comfort, and hedonism before and after the world succumbed to the Freeze. The latter had to fight for his right to survive, only to live a life of squalor, misery, and inhumane treatment from the powers that be.
The distance and difference between them was greater than the impressive length of the railway track itself.
And so it was that on the seventh year anniversary of the megatrain's maiden departure, the paths of these two men would collide in the most unexpected of times: the annual Fight Night.
For the egotistic elites of the train, it functions as an entertaining spectacle and a space to flaunt their obscene extravagance towards the less fortunate. For the downtrodden plebeians who serve the Engine Eternal, it offers a golden opportunity to rise above their station: the winning victor is awarded a full upgrade and access to Second Class plus all the entitlements therein.
Their fateful encounter during this event would change history and defy everything that Mr. Thanos has strictly enforced within his moving kingdom.
This is the forbidden love story between Thor Odinson and Peter Jason Quill: two star-crossed souls aboard the Snowpiercer, one thousand and one cars long.

“Why are we even doing this, Thor? Why would you even love someone like me?”
“I love you, Peter, because you’re mine. I love you because you need love. I love you because you deserve so much more than your life in the Tail. I love you because when you look at me, you don’t see me as this uncaring asshole from First Class, and that I possess the power to change things for the better. I love you because you made me realize that there’s something worth living for in this dead world. I love you because when I touch you, I feel more a man than any other man confined on this goddamn metal prison.”
“Awww... I love you too, dickhead.”
“And why do you love me too?”
“I love you because when I touch you, I make you feel more a man than any other man confined on this goddamn metal prison. I love you because I might be a freeloading scumbag from the Tail and yet you still love me. I love you because despite all appearances, you are not like the other bastards living it up in First Class. I love you because your heart is willing to defy order and balance just to prove your love to me. I love you because... to understand our love, they might have to derail this train.”

So yeah, I combined my two obsessions into one crossover.
Dedicated to @xthorquillx + @thegoodshipthorquill and @snowpiercer-live-blog + @quietparanoiac for doing the Lord’s work on fueling my love for Thorquill and Snowpiercer. Go show their Tumblrs some love! :)
WHY THOR “GOD OF THUNDER” ODINSON AND PETER “STAR-LORD” QUILL ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER.
Oh, what’s that?
You DON’T ship Thor and Star-Lord together even after seeing their brief but already iconic crossing of paths in Avengers: Infinity War?
Well, friend... Let me break it down for you.
Yeah, we all know for a fact that most people in fandoms typically ship opposite characters together because opposites attract and all that jazz.
Been there, done that. NEXT!
But here’s the thing: not ALL relationships—fictional or otherwise—should necessarily pair up people with contrasting qualities. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a card-carrying member of several ships whose pairings are diametrically opposed to each other. In fact, certain pairings can be formed by bringing together two characters who have a lot in common.
Like ThorQuill, for example.
Aside from their obvious physical similarities (hello, cosmic beefcake dudes!) and being a key member of their respective superhero teams (the Avengers and the Guardians), Thor Odinson and Peter Jason Quill have a lot of things in common exhibited in the MCU canon that would make them gravitate towards each other and bond over their similar experiences despite their awkward first encounter—err, macho posturing—during the events of Infinity War.
Don’t believe me? Well, friend, if you lasted this long with my defense of ThorQuill, I present to you the following evidence below:
EXHIBIT A: They both had charismatic but ultimately problematic fathers who have kept dangerous and dark secrets from them.
Thor had Odin who pretty much peaced out from existence when he and Loki tracked him down and had him deal with surprise big sister Hela who wanted to fuck shit up after being imprisoned for centuries.
Quill had Ego who seemed okay at first, but then there was that whole thing with Ego deliberately killing Peter’s mom as well as murdering all the failed offspring from his intergalactic sex conquests.
EXHIBIT B: They both had objects of priceless/sentimental value of their possession destroyed at the hands of their psychopathic family members.
RIP Mew-mew. It was nice knowing you.
Ugh, it still hurts!
EXHIBIT C: They have managed to showcase a mean and visually explosive power punch when they channeled all their powers to beat their opponents into defeat/submission.
Hulk, I love you, but let’s be real: we all know Thor won this one.
A+++ for Quill’s epic Pac-Man transformation and giving us all nostalgic life.
EXHIBIT D: They have both endured and withstood immense physical pain in order to save the day from megalomaniac antagonists.
Don’t tell me Thor’s badass sacrificial act at Nidavellir in order to create Stormbreaker didn’t make you wet your undies.
And friendly reminder that Quill actually HELD an Infinity Stone in the palm of his bare hand (no Infinity Gauntlet for him, thanks!) and lived to tell the tale.
So yeah, I could go on about why these two are definitively meant for each other, but I’ll leave it here for now.
Even with their limited amount of screen time together (so far), I firmly stand with those who were instantly on board with the SS ThorQuill.
Thank you and have a great day!
well it sounds like your classmates definitely had their priorities straight by acknowledging their... thirst ;)
Okay, but real talk though after I saw “Zootopia”.
Gazelle’s shirtless and beefcake tiger backup dancers wearing those slashed-and-sequined leather shorts are probably the hottest animal dudes I’ve seen since Adult Simba from “The Lion King”. Like damn, they’re even serving some Blue Steel face and Magic Mike dance moves realness.
And this is coming from a guy who also has a massive crush on a SENTIENT ALIEN TREE from “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
The Bromosexual Saga of Thor Odinson and Peter Jason Quill • Part 01
I feel as lit by fire a cold countenance That burns me from afar and keeps itself ice-chill; A strength I feel two shapely arms to fill Which without motion moves every balance
