The Boss Battle Against King Bob-omb In Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Features A Time Limit Mechanic, Whereby

The boss battle against King Bob-omb in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam features a time limit mechanic, whereby a 4 minute timer will start counting down at the beginning of the battle, leading to King Bob-omb exploding. A player familiar with other entries in the series may assume that the explosion would lead to an automatic Game Over, as it does e.g. in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga with the Time Bob-ombs.
However, that is not the case. If the player holds X to activate the Emergency Block during the explosion, and the characters are at a high enough level/have enough HP, they can in fact survive the explosion, which grants the player an automatic victory since King Bob-omb is now dead. In fact, if the player knows that the characters can survive the explosion, there is no need to even engage in the battle, as the player can leave the game running and come back 4 minutes later to perform the block and automatically win.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, a failsafe exists if one brother somehow enters a new area without the game having registered the brothers being officially separated from the other (either through the use of split-up moves or during specific story segments).
If this happens, the front brother (Mario in the footage) will wait at the entrance to the area and the other brother will join up with him by walking in from off-screen. This can be seen in some specific spots where the rear brother can get stuck on a ledge close to an exit, as shown in the footage.

Promotional Japanese pin to commemorate the release of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga in 2003. The dates on the bottom refer to Mario and Luigi’s (at the time) 20-year span as a brother team, 1983 being the date of the release of the Mario Bros. games (arcade and Game & Watch), which introduced Luigi as a character.

Top: Broque Madame is a character who appears in Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story (and its remake) as well as in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. In all of these games, she speaks with a French accent and uses French words in her speech. One word she uses frequently is “cherí” [sic].
Bottom: However, that is a misspelling of the actual French word, which is spelled “chéri” instead, with the accent on the “e”. “Cherí” with the accent on the last letter does not exist in French. This was not fixed for the remake of Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story.
