What the fuck? Whitewashing? It’s a danish fairy tale! You can’t just throw in diversity for the sake of it. It has to make sense, thats like if people were like “Why are there only Chinese people in Mulan?” Because it takes place in fucking China before anyone immigrated there!

It’s not my place to speak over Black simmers on the horrific anti-Blackness of this because I’m not Black, but I do have The Nose and can speak on that. Real people have his nose. My nose is like that. My dad’s nose is almost exactly like that from the front, and I dread to think what you’d say about my great grandfather’s nose. Shit like this is why so many people feel pressured to get nose jobs because their noses are too “ethnic”. It’s harmful and it’s gross. You’re an adult and you sure as fuck should know better.

Sims 4 Bob Pancakes Makeover
Okay, I know I took *some* liberties with him, but... I just needed to. I didn't think the original Bob looked good with Eliza. BUT I didn't change any of his presets! Which is why his nose looks bad... Otherwise, I think he looks pretty decent. I wanted to keep make him look more like a slob sense he has that trait, so I tried to make his clothes look basic. And his formal ware looks like he doesn't even care XD Also, I trimmed him down a bit lol. Well, now it would be interesting to see what his new genetics combined with Eliza's would look like as their child.

Hi! I’m really sick of whitewashing and the various excuses that artists come up with, so I wrote a guide! How To Not Whitewash, at least with regards to skin tone. Please make use of it, and encourage other artists to do so as well. Here’s a link to this guide on a Google Doc - this document has image descriptions. It bothers me when I see people just go “black washing isn’t bad!” And ignore all the stereotypes people can make, even unintentionally , and I’m definitely not immune to falling into that trap myself
do you have tips for drawing black ppl? not like refs or anything bc thats obvious, but stuff like colour picking and how to properly colour someone of colour.
glad you asked!! Well theres a tutorial by my friend Jojo here about drawing black folks (there isn’t a post for tumblr soz), one by chuwenjie here about drawing asians (i think its predominately south east asians) and one by peachdeluxe here about avoiding whiteashing darkskins when drawing darkskins as zombies etc! Another friend of mine on things to avoid here! (in terms of racist caricature). I included the asian one since I feel its a good tutorial…! These tutorials are really informative, the last one is common sense but apparently not for a lot of artists, so its there just to be careful.
As for general tips, look at references, colour picking is NOT a crime, its not accurate but its better than actually white washing them and it can help get the best shade! Most poc have red-orange-yellow undertones, so grey-ish colours aren’t really great or a direct darker shade isn’t the best.

Old star wars media really did the Fett family so dirty. There are all these characters who, on paper, I’m really interested in but their visual representation makes me cringe. Arla Fett, Ailyn Vel, Mirta Gev. You know, descended from a Māori family. For some reason, though, (you know the reason) they’re consistently drawn like this:

Arla would never have blonde hair in a million years, and her skin would be as dark as Jango’s. And similarly, Ailyn and Mirta would have brown skin tones as well. This is clownery. Utter, downright clownery.

Like, after his solo Robin series, I just cannot look at him like that. He looks almost exactly like Jon.
Where is his tan skin ??? His green eyes ??? HIS HOOKED NOSE ???? They took away everything that made his design cool and interesting and new and pretty and also just like a huge part of his ethnicity.
It just bothers me so much like I want to read the comic bc it does seem pretty interesting but Damian’s design is making it soooooo hard. It extra sucks bc the art style is amazing. I actually love the way Bruce is drawn and also White Rabbit is super cool. Damian is just throwing me off so hard like that’s literally not him that’s Tim or Jon or Dick but that isn’t Damian Wayne/AL GHUL like tf look at this
