When a husband woke up from rest, would the first thing on his mind be his wife? Namjoon wondered this as his heavy eyelids were welcomed by the outside world. He usually woke up in an instant, but seemingly struggled at the moment. There was something missing in the room, an answer that his heart came up with before his mind could run the algorithms.
With a grip rougher than it should’ve been, he lifted the curtain between you two only to be greeted with your absence.
Such a sight shouldn’t be making him this anxious because this was your kingdom after all. You weren’t putting yourself into danger, nor were you obligated to stay by Namjoon no matter what. What was making him so tense? Making his heart race, his lungs contract, and his fingertips tremble?
Every fiber of Namjoon’s being pushed him out of bed. He barely knew this place which is why he didn’t know where to go, but it had to be somewhere. You couldn’t be too far, because the last time, when you were thousands of miles away, he had nearly driven himself insane while missing you.
As hurriedly as he wanted to execute everything, he couldn’t help but to slow down just a bit. Why was he moving so quickly when he was simultaneously in awe of everything around him? Did he need to chase after you? Could he leisurely wander the new land his eyes have never seen before?
A new kingdom, a new land, a new culture. These were your roots, after all.
