A 512 x 512 shot of the eye of my own rendition of Jonny D'Ville, based on the costume. The eye is a noticeable dark brown against white sclera, with an orange tinge against it. The skin around it is somewhat pale, but it is mostly obscured by dark makeup reminiscent of lightning scars, and shade from above. The eyebrow, which frames his aggressive expression, has a small chip in it for reasons (to anyone else) unknown. For you Alt Text readers: Look close into the pupil. There are tiny jagged lines of faint orange reminiscent of lightning. I though it'd fit :D

Alright gang, we got a bit of a shift in tune. It should be completely obvious who this is for those in The Mechanism fandom, our beloved Captain First Mate; Jonny d'Ville! This was my first time messing around with actual paintbrushes in Krita in an attempt to somehow mimic the makeup(?)/scars(?) on Jonny himself. I dare say I did well, but I'm a bit bias so please feel free to give tips for future works involving Jonny. My favourite part of this was giving Jonny that blast of orange in his eye, as it kinda felt... right, in a sense. Slightly inhuman for one who has long since left the bounds of 'proper' humanity. Next designs I'm tossing up as either variants of Jonny from other fics (more than likely Somewhere Else (In Space) or Craniopagus), other members of The Mechanisms or more OCs from the Redeath/Search Through the Stars fics. I might make a poll tbh, we'll see. Anyway, enjoy the new eye from your resident Eye Lady!~

A 512 x 512 shot of the eye of Somewhere Else (In Space) Jonny D'Ville (AU by candlecoo-sideb-art). The eye is a simple, desaturated brown with white sclera, sitting on slightly dark skin with a line that could be makeup/could be a scar of ashen grey going down the middle of the face. No secret hidden thing here, sorry guys. Feel free to lie about it in the comments though to confuse people :3

Aighto, time to dive back into @candlecoo-sideb-art's Somewhere Else (In Space) AU! Stickin' to the trend, here's candelcoo's rendition of Jonny d'Ville! This one was a bit more of a push against my current skill level, as I tried to experiment with how candlecoo did their eye design; no outline on the sclera and iris, white pupil and lines for the purpose of silhouettes. I chickened out on the eyebrow coloring, though, no excuse there. Compared to the make-up of the Jonny d'Ville outfit, I think I prefer these more marker-like lines. And just... the simplicity of the design itself. It reminds me of Minecraft skins and the amount you gotta thin down the design to its core details... feels like home. That, and the thin lines for these 'lightning marks' gives more of a vein-like feel, which helps if they're meant to be scars. Thinking of targeting Craniopagus characters next, or candlecoo's Toy Soldier, for no particular reason. I'm still thinking. Sorry for missing a day of eyes; I had a bit of a wild day. The resident Eye Lady promises a swift return!~

What is up with Jonny d'Ville's scar/makeup?

So I'm new to the fandom, and I cannot figure out for the life of me what the hell Jonny D'Ville's lightning marks are. Is it just makeup? Scars? A genetic defect to do with his species? Veins?? I can't find a definitive source (yes I tried the wiki) Please help I'm so lost lmao.
