As soon as the words are said, Luffy relaxes. He leans a little into Zoro and lets out a long sigh. He was exhausted from putting up a brave front, from pretending that everything was alright. It felt like he was putting on a face ever since Marineford. Zoro was the only one he felt comfortable dropping that guard around, to let see him so tired and exhausted.
He use to share a cabin with someone else of the crew each night, not wanting to be alone, and he hadn't done so for some time. Ray had told him about his nightmares while he was training and it wasn't fair to disturb the others' sleep with his thrashing and screaming. No, it was best that no one else know how little sleep their captain was actually getting.
That tiredness likely helped contribute to the drop of his guard, as well as his not knowing that seastone could be made into bullets. "Thank you, Zoro..."

"I really don't feel good." Luffy complained, having been bandaged up after their last run in with marines had ended up with a seastone bullet in his shoulder. His usual high energy had a strange lull, as his shoulder throbbed with every movement. "I don't like these new bullets. I have to dodge them now."

Smoker shifts with discomfort before he sighs and rubs this eyes tiredly, his fingers moving to pinch the bridge of his nose in exasperation before he decides to bite the bullet and straightens in front of the Pirate Captain in front of him "Straw Hat... permission to join your crew..."
Luffy looked up in surprise. The last person he had thought would ask to join him was Smokey. He looked up at the taller man and thought of all their encounters with one another, of Logue Town, Alabasta, Marineford and Punk Hazard. Time and time again, they had clashed but had ultimately ended up on the same side as often as they didn't. The young man had come to think of the marine as a friend, and his friends always had a place on the Sunny.
"Permission given, welcome to the family!" His grin spread as he spoke, though he could already anticipate his crew being uncertain, like they had been about his alliance with Toroa.
"Alright! Thanks, Rebecca, that was fun!" He was happy that he was able to score so well. "When I do mine, you'll answer too, right?"

He puffed out his cheeks as he exhaled, anticipating the scolding that was likely to come from the first member of his crew. Zoro had been napping, and so Luffy had taken it upon himself to try and do some small alterations to their small little ship. A ship that was now filling with water faster than he would like. He knew they would have to think of some way to repair his mistake. Going into the sea would be a death sentence for both of them, with how far from land they were.
"Now... don't be mad... but I accidentally made a hole in the side of the bow.... Port side."

Luffy is bouncing on his feet, looking at the people before him. Surely they were, they had to be. Not able to stop his mouth, as he so often was scolded for he asked the question on his mind. "Are those robots?! How do they move?"

Luffy is all smiles as he runs towards Nami, excitement is an emotion that comes easily for the young man. He takes her hand in his own, dragging her along with him as he headed towards his destination. He had lead her to a spot that he had seen from the crow's nest, a large mural was peeking from beneath the sand. He didn't know what it depicted but he wanted to share with her. "Look, it's all shiny, Nami!"

"What do you mean, I can't have a bigger spending allowance? I wanna buy more meat!" Luffy frowned and crossed his arms as he looked at Nami, a low whine leaving him. The money was always handled by his navigator, and this island had more treats than his wallet would allow him to buy. He had already been scolded for trying to swipe something to eat without paying for it. Not even explaining his treasure tab had made Nami budge.

He isn't really thinking as they celebrate. Luffy rarely does, just goes with the flow and the feeling of revelry. So he doesn't really think about how everyone will react when he pulls Nami into his arms. They had been dancing together all night, enjoying the party, laughing and living life to it's fullest.
The captain's lips find hers, eager and hot, his tongue slipping past her lips when she gives a gasp of surprise. A happy purr leaves his throat as he holds her close to him, the rest of the world nothing more than dull noise around them.

Luffy was impulsive, that was certain, but he was careful in his affection. He knew that he could be suffocating, that sometime he was a lot. He saw that when he was younger, before Ace and Sabo were his brothers. He knew that people could be chased away if you gave too much of yourself too fast.
The young captain would not usually partake in alcohol, years of moonshine making him not desire it unless it was a special occasion. Most alcohol was not strong enough for him, but he would admit if any asked that enough would give him a nice buzz. And when he was a little buzzed, not enough to be considered drunk, he was not always as careful in showing his love for those around him.
Perhaps that was what finally tipped the scales, that extra courage and the passion of the celebrations around them, that pushed him to finally act on what he had been thinking for some time. He could not remember when he had first started to think about kissing Nami. Could not name when he had stopped thinking about her as 'my friend' and more as 'my heart.'
Adrenaline fills him as he kisses her, hoping that if she hit him he could just brush it off as something spur of the moment. When she had not responded right away, he had began to anticipate a fist, but then she melted into the kiss. His heart raced as she began to kiss him back, to pull him into a position that made the kiss more comfortable for her.
When Nami pushed her tongue against his own, he shifted his hands from their resting position on her waist. Luffy rested one arm around her back, the other slipping into her hair and holding her from pulling away. He shifted them to lift her into the air, so that her toes barely could reach the ground - if they indeed could reach at all.
He pressed into the kiss eagerly and flicked his tongue against hers, nothing around them mattering anymore, or even registering for him. No, all that he cared about was the feeling of his lips on his, the taste of her tongue and the warmth of her breath. The only thing that existed for him in this moment was Nami, and Nami alone.
It isn't often that Nami is left breathless like this. He had held her close before, embraced her in a manner that had her feeling like the most important person in the world. He still also holds the ability to surprise her, which is exactly what happens when he draws her in. They had been enjoying themselves, Nami allowing herself to be lost in the music and the flow of drinks she had partaken in.
His hands across her skin that leave a burning trail she cannot deny makes her yearn. She grins at him as she continues to dance near him, only for her to be drawn flush against him. His lips upon hers is not what she had expected upon being dragged in and she stares openly for a few moments before she can register exactly what is happening.
Luffy has her by the waist, slanting his mouth over his. It leaves her bewildered, the world around them both falling away. Why is he kissing her? Is this a "in the moment" kind of thing? It takes her moment to melt into his touch, allowing herself to simply feel, not feeling the need to overanalyse, at least not yet.
Her hands rise to his jaw so that she can begin to respond properly, forcing him to lean down properly so that she can kiss him back as easily as he had captured her before. She tilts her head and pushes back against his tongue with her own. Embrace the moment, right?
She would need clarification for this later, but she was far too distracted to even think past more than Luffy's lips upon hers to care.
