I'm on season 7 now and man, I've never seen Dean so depressed as he is without Cas
For all the Dick Roman jokes and the Hell wall falling in Sam’s skull, this was a melodramatic season, the cusp of which was completed by Dean mirroring it with his own psychological burying.
He took the words from Bobby and Rufus’s exchange, slugged three shots of whiskey, and continued down the road with Cas-grieving, depressed tears in his eyes.
I’ll never forget it.

adding on to this, I think this is actually around the time Jared started the Always Keep Fighting campaign? so that's probably why I clung so hard to this episode? because middle school / early high school
