✧ Introduction ˖⁺ ‧₊˚ .

 Introduction .

✦ You can call me Temple !

✦ 30+, genderfluid (she/her/he/him), queer, married

✦ Progressive, non-trad Roman Catholic* witch

✦ Aquarius sun, Pisces rising, Capricorn moon

 Introduction .

* I was raised Catholic with very little structure or consistency, and I have lived most of my life as agnostic and scientifically-minded. I come from a background of not viewing God in the same ways that many do, or is depicted in the Bible, and I can't say that my views have changed much. I am embarking on a new journey to chase a calling I keep feeling by educating myself, and exploring my instincts and inspirations. St. Joan d'Arc is the one that called me into this direction.

I practice intercession of the saints and angels.

I perform tarot readings, prayer, devotions and offerings, and have done minor spellwork using flora, minerals, and herbs. I especially enjoy astrology and natal chart tracking.

More info about my beliefs can be found here. I will update and change my ideology and catalogue my beliefs there over time.

I love dark and horror content, please be advised! I may reblog such things especially including media as Midnight Mass (Netflix), FAITH: The Unholy Trinity, Ghost (band), and more. I love the genre especially when combined with existentialism, and I find a lot of meaning and inspiration in some of this content. I will tag these with Temple:Darkmode for you to mute if you do not like to see this kind of stuff!

I welcome Christo-pagans, Christians, Orthodox, Pagans, Heathens, Luciferians, and more as long as we agree on mutual respect, progressive values, protecting trans lives, supporting Palestine, etc.!

I am ESPECIALLY looking for mutuals that practice as Christian-adjacent that are interested in knowing someone that may see things differently.

Please engage/follow me if you vibe with anything above (and would care to see my content and what I share, of course)!

novena prayer group roundup!

So October is a big month for prayer-- it's the month of the Holy Rosary, after all! But it is also the month of the International Mental Health Awareness day, and the month for mental health awareness as outlined by the American Catholic Church. Part of this is the Mental Health Novena, a nine day official prayer (10th-18th of October) praying for the intersession of saints and the like ranging from St. Dymphna to St. Thérèse of Lisieux to the Holy Family for the healing and safety of those who are suffering or have loved ones suffering from mental illness. Each day is a different facet of mental health awareness:

Day 1 – Removing Stigmas (St. Dymphna) Day 2 – Families (The Holy Family) Day 3 – Mental Health Ministry (St. John of God) Day 4 – Childhood (St. Thérèse of Lisieux) Day 5 – Youth and Young Adults (St. Kateri Tekakwitha) Day 6 – Effects of Racial Discrimination on Mental Health (St. Martin de Porres) Day 7 – Poverty and Mental Health (St. Teresa of Calcutta) Day 8 – Suicide Awareness (Dorothy Day) Day 9 - Grief (St. Jane Frances de Chantal) & Conclusion (St. John the Evangelist)

Now comes the prayer group roundup: for those interested, I ask that you take time in the morning and before bed to join me and everyone else in praying each day of this novena. Take two moments in your day to think of those of our or our loved ones dealing with mental illness, as well as praying for those who have lost their lives to such a battle. If you plan to participate, I ask you like, or reblog, or comment! The more the merrier. Each day I will be adding a reflection onto a rb of this post with the official prayer for the day. If you would like to add a specific name of a person/etc to be prayed for, please feel free to put them in the comments! I will be updating a list of any left on this post so everyone can see them.

Here is the novena and a detailed explanation for each day:

Mental Health Novena
USCCB
Introductory Statement from Archbishop Borys Gudziak and Bishop Robert Barron...

Thank you, and God bless. Mary, mother of the mentally ill, Joseph, protector of the mentally ill, and Christ's most Sacred Heart, pray for us!

hi, here's my intro post

⊹ ࣪ ﹏𓊝﹏⊹ ࣪ ˖

⋆ my name's tate. I'm a 21 year old black and trans man living in new england. I use he/him pronouns.

⋆ I'm currently converting to catholicism, though I used to be areligious and wandering. I also practice ancestral/familial veneration.

⋆ I plan to blog about my everyday happenings and journal entries (of sort) as well as about my religion.

⋆ I adore all sorts of music all the time, though currently I'm leaning towards post-hardcore. some of my favorite artists right now are MewithoutYou, Say Anything, and Brand New.

⋆ I also am on the spectrum, if it matters. some of my special interests include theology, world religions, mortuary science, anything ocean/ship related, and sci-fi.

⋆ I'm planning on going to school to become a funeral director and mortician.

⋆ I do not tolerate hatred or bigotry of any kind. do not interact if you hold either of these in your heart.

⋆ please interact if you love dissecting and discussing the Bible, studying its meanings, and seeking multiple interpretations, like I do!
