hi, here's my intro post
⊹ ࣪ ﹏𓊝﹏⊹ ࣪ ˖
⋆ my name's tate. I'm a 21 year old black and trans man living in new england. I use he/him pronouns.
⋆ I'm currently converting to catholicism, though I used to be areligious and wandering. I also practice ancestral/familial veneration.
⋆ I plan to blog about my everyday happenings and journal entries (of sort) as well as about my religion.
⋆ I adore all sorts of music all the time, though currently I'm leaning towards post-hardcore. some of my favorite artists right now are MewithoutYou, Say Anything, and Brand New.
⋆ I also am on the spectrum, if it matters. some of my special interests include theology, world religions, mortuary science, anything ocean/ship related, and sci-fi.
⋆ I'm planning on going to school to become a funeral director and mortician.
⋆ I do not tolerate hatred or bigotry of any kind. do not interact if you hold either of these in your heart.
⋆ please interact if you love dissecting and discussing the Bible, studying its meanings, and seeking multiple interpretations, like I do!

“We owe a debt to third world women theologians who have noticed the similarities between Mary’s life and the lives of so many poor women even today. Giving birth in a homeless situation; fleeing as a refugee with your baby to a strange land to escape being killed by military action; losing a child to unjust execution by the state; our newspapers yield up these icons of suffering even today. Mary is sister to the marginalized women who live unchronicled lives in oppressive situations. It does her no honor to rip her out of her conflictual, dangerous historical circumstances and transmute her into an icon of a peaceful, middle-class life robed in royal blue.”
— Sister Elizabeth Johnson, “Mary of Nazareth: Friend of God and Prophet”
