"I thought you were supposed to be helping me."
"Oh, I am...Just taking my time." Solon turns in his chair, his gold and blue eyes shoot an icy glare at you. You could feel it, but you were so sleepy, you didn't even care.
"Seriously whats going on with you?"
You slump in his against the wall completely sliding to the floor. Your coily and curly hair spilling everywhere.
He rolled his eyes, getting up from the desk before kneeling at your side. "Hey Drama Queen, tell me whats wrong."
"Solon, I dont feel good!"
"Let me guess you want me to do something about it?" His brows raise, he was certain of what you wanted. Your eyes fluttered at him as he gazes down at you. "Can you pleassse use your power to cool me off, Darling?"
He frowned rolling his eyes,"Do you even love me? Hm? You seem to love using my hands as some sort of cooling treatment.."
"No! Of course not! I really to love you Solon!" You pounce on him, making him fall backwards. Nuzzling your nose into his neck as you straddled him. "I love you alot my grumpy vampy-wolf hybrid!!"
He felt bashful, attempting to push you off of him,"Woman! Ugh!" That is until, he actually felt how warm you were. "Wait..Y/n get up for a second."
"Hm? Whats up?"
"Snowflake, you're really warm..Like fever kind of warm." He sits up with you in his lap, brushing your curls out of your face. "You really aren't feeling well huh?"
You nodded, Solon felt guilty..of course he wasn't serious when he said,'You seem to love using my hands as some sort of cooling treatment.' However, you could've took it literal if it felt that way.
"Here..",He whispered holding both hands on your cheeks, his hands were literal ice. You sighed with relief, leaning into his touch, your hands resting on his. "Hey, Im so-"
"I know you didn't mean it Solon",You reassured him. He nodded,"Good..Good."
A few moments of silence go by, before Solon begins speaking. "How do you feel?"
"Good",you muttered.
"Any nausea?" You shook your head in response.
"Pain anywhere? Is..Is it that Time of the month?",he asked a bit embarrassed.
You giggled at his embarresment, "No grumpy, it's not."
He smacks his lips,"Oi, Im serious here Y/n."
"Okay, Okay, I can't explain it but..I feel really bad. Sick kinda bad..you know?"
Solon looks closely at you,"Nothing seems out of the ordinary..maybe it's just a infection?"
His hands fall to your forearms, caressing them with a icy sensation. "I can see you dont feel well, could it be a weak feeling? I can't do anything for you besides take care of the fever.."
You shrug,"I guess? What if you take some blood?"
"Are you crazy?! Surely this infection has made you think delusional."
"No! Solon, can't you taste if the blood has been infected or clean? You could taste the infection or remove some of it cant you?"
Technically you were right, you did have a point. With all the animal blood the boys had drank they could taste whether the animal was ill or had diseases or what not. Though, to remove the bad cells from the red or white blood cells...he'd never tried to do that.
"I-I guess? But I've never drank Human blood before."
Solon was unsure, very hesitant though you told him it was alright. He would fidget for a bit until he got up with you in his arms.
He layed you down gently onto the soft mattress behind you. "Okay, I'll do this for you only once!" He sat beside you taking a deep breath. "When I do this, I need you to stay laying down."
He was nervous, he never drank from a human nor a live being and you were both of those things. He made sure you were comfortable. "It might be uncomfortable or hurt a little."
"Its okay Im ready." You turned your head slightly revealing your neck to him. A dangerously red hue covered his face,"Y-You! Is that where you want me to bite you?! Out of all places?"
"There are other places?"
"Yes! Wrist, arm, leg, knuckle...W-Why the neck you weirdo?"
"You're so cute when you get shy you Icy hybrid!" You teased pointing to your neck. Signaling that was the place where you wanted to have your blood drawn.
"Don't call me that!", he whined
He felt so bad seeing you like this, it seemed taboo to him. Though he wasn't going to deny how beautiful you looked.
"Hold my hand okay?"
Solon nodded,"Of course.." Together your hands conjoined, locking digits together. Leaning close to you, you could feel his breath tickling your skin. "Ready?"
"Yeah.."
Soon, a gasp could be heard from you. You squeezed his hand a bit making him pull away. "You okay??"
You sighed,"Yes..what did you find?"
"Oh! Right!", Solon licks the small amount of blood he'd drawn from you. Smacking his lips together tasting what little he had managed to draw with such a shallow bite. "The Taste. It's just a minor infection. It's not viral so you should be able to help fight it with antibiotics."
Solon ran his ringers through your hair, gently speaking you. "Um..You can rest here if you want."
"Oh my Solon, I didn't take you as the bold type.", you tease.
His eye twitches with slight annoyance, though you knew he wasn't. He often put on this act when you teased him. "You can Leave now..."
You giggled at his expression,"I'm sorry Solon. You're just fun to tease. I'll help you then get out of your hair Sol."
As you began to stand up, Solon stopped you, grabbing your hand. "Hey, forget about it..Let's just have you rest for now. Okay?" See? Isn't he sweet? I know. You nodded,"Yeah sure."
There you two lay together beside one another. His cool hands resting on your face as his alternate color eyes gaze back at you. "I'll take care of you..try not to do such while you're ill, Okay?"
You reach for his soft blue hair. Your fingers getting lost in his soft locks. "Alright, Will Do."
"Thank you Y/n."

Friday night was the moment when you felt the peak of your tiredness beating against every fiber of your body. Taking off all the clothes you wore to work during that tiring day, getting into the hot shower was the only thing you needed for a moment.
Water on your skin, strawberry-scented soap and shampoo, and a lot of relaxation as soon as you turn off the shower to dry off and look for more comfortable clothes.
"Y/n?" the voice called out from downstairs in the apartment, indicating that your brother had just arrived home.
Putting on your baggy T-shirt followed by your pajama shorts, you went downstairs to meet him in the living room, turning on the television.
"Oh, did you just get out of the shower?" he asked when he turned to you. A smile played on his lips as you smiled back, without much enthusiasm for being completely tired from your exhausting day.
"Do you want something to eat? I'll order—"
"Actually" he interrupted you, walking with you into the kitchen where he leaned against the worktop, "I just came to drop off my backpack and let you know I'm going out with the boys."
Oh, your whisper came out softly, he was still smiling while his hands were flat on the marble in front of him.
"Be careful, please" you asked him "Don't come loaded tonight, okay? Tomorrow you need to study for your final exams."
His smile was contagious. And you felt the weight of your brother's body as he came up to hug you and put his chin on your head.
"I promise I'll take care of myself, okay?"
He didn't take care of himself.
You laughed at the brief thought earlier in the evening as soon as you hung up the phone. On the call, Jay's loud voice was indicating that your brother had already left about fifteen minutes ago with Sunghoon.
Park Sunghoon. That's why he hadn't come to see you that night, he was with your brother in that bar.
Of course. You couldn't just ask your brother's best friend to stay with you, when in fact your brother was a pit of jealousy. So your relationship with Sunghoon had to be a secret from the day you first kissed.
The party was going on and you would never have thought that Park Sunghoon, the high school skater, would have a crush on you. He kissed you. He kissed you so hard until you lost your breath - or until your brother threw you away in your last year before university.
After that, no one ever saw the two of you together again. Meanwhile, on the sly, the two of you couldn't keep your hands off each other. The only person who knew about you and Sunghoon was Callie, your best friend, and Jay's girlfriend, your friend and your brother's friend.
She was one of the only female figures completely close to you and your circle of friends, so opening up to her about everything that was going on was almost inevitable.
"He went to take your brother who drank too much" Callie muttered on the other end of the line. "I just got home with Jay and I think tomorrow's studies are going to be postponed."
"Really?" you scratched your temple with your free hand, already imagining the state in which your brother would arrive at the apartment.
You had asked him not to drink so much, but knowing his stubbornness, he certainly wouldn't listen to you like that. So you just shrugged.
"We can set up the session at your place tomorrow, what do you think?" your friend suggested a few minutes later, probably paying attention to the two of you calling and Jay mumbling something incomprehensible on the other end "That way you and Sunghoon can be together a bit more, since today didn't work out" she whispered, knowing that this had happened so that Jay wouldn't hear.
"I'd love to, actually" the sound of the doorknob made you jump up from the sofa, glancing at the door before it opened "They're here, I'm going to help them. See you tomorrow?"
"See you tomorrow, kitten" Callie said goodbye and hung up, and just as you did the same to put your cell phone on the coffee table, the door opened.
Your brother was hanging on to one of Sunghoon's shoulders, who was struggling against his weight to stand up. You ran the few steps closer to the two of them, holding back your laughter when your brother raised his head and looked at you with narrowed eyes.
"Y/n?" he looked at you, then at Sunghoon "Are we home?"
"We're home" Sunghoon was panting, holding the other boy's body up high enough.
"Shit Jake, what's gotten into you?" your voice had a worried tone, ignoring Sunghoon's gaze on you the whole time since he closed the door and entered the apartment.
"We bet" he sobbed, disentangling himself from Sunghoon's arms, "and I lost."
He kicked his shoes off his feet, keeping his socks on as he unbuckled his belt, throwing it into a corner of the living room.
"Okay, no naked here" Sunghoon ran up to him and grabbed Jake by the hands "Let's go to your room, you need a shower."
He even tried to deny it and protest, but he knew he wasn't up to it, especially since even you were harder than he was. You almost pushed him into the bedroom with Sunghoon's help.
"But… Wait…" Jake stopped at the door to his bathroom, turning around "You're not going to see me naked, are you?"
"No" Sunghoon laughed, followed by you "I'll just go in, she can sort out your nightclothes, how about that?" his gaze was on you again, and with a nod, you went to Jake's closet to get some clothes.
Your mind must have been wandering as you picked out something for your brother. Sunghoon was right there, under the same roof as you. It was strange to see him so suddenly, even though you were looking forward to meeting him that day.
It was always a surprise when you saw him because, every moment, Sunghoon was different. Not physically, you mean. But his features. Sometimes he was frustrated about something at work or college. Or even his sleepiness, which made him so cute. You felt like kissing him non-stop when he mumbled into your pillow that he didn't want to leave.
"Have you chosen?" Sunghoon appeared in the bathroom doorway. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, his pants were folded to his knees and yet all the fabric of his clothes was wet.
You realized that you had rambled on too long because Jake was already drying himself off while you were singing in the bathroom. Sunghoon just smiled in your direction as you handed him some clothes and he went back into the bathroom.
Less than a few minutes later they were both out. Jake with wet hair and a slightly better appearance. Sunghoon seemed to check the room, seeing the bottle of water that Jake always kept by his bed.
"It's full, he'll be fine" he said as he pointed to the object, you just nodded in agreement.
"Hey man, thanks" Jake yawned as he flopped onto the bed, still feeling everything around him spin. He waved for Sunghoon to come closer and so he did "Without you, I wouldn't be able to get home."
"You know I'm here for anything" Sunghoon smiled at him "Now, go to sleep, I have to go home and check on Heeseung and Jungwon."
Jake muttered something else that neither of you could understand, so all that was left was to agree and say goodnight. Letting your brother know that he would be in the next room if he needed.
You were the last to leave Jake's room, taking another look at your brother's sleepiness, who was now dozing off peacefully and so quickly. It was the effect of the drink that always made him fall asleep so quickly. So as soon as you turned off the lights, you carefully let the door close completely.
Before anything could be said, Sunghoon's hands traveled up to your face and, without effort, he got close enough to touch your lips with his. A slow kiss that tasted of alcohol because you knew he had been drinking too. Maybe not as much as your brother, but still, and that made the kiss taste so sweet on your tongue when you slid it into his mouth.
Kissing Sunghoon was incredible and dangerous at the same time, even more so in front of Jake's room. Knowing that he wouldn't wake up, nothing stopped the chill in your stomach from chasing you, even when Sunghoon pressed his body against yours at the exact moment your back met the wall. You moaned into his mouth, the contact of his fingers against your skin sliding down to your waist, lifting the T-shirt you were wearing to touch you there without warning.
"We… We can't…" you tried to catch your breath as his lips descended to your neck; without leaving a mark, but enough for his tongue to slide against your skin and send shivers down your spine.
"Shit" he cursed in a whisper before giving your neck one last kiss and aligning his face with yours. Leaning our foreheads against each other so he could be close enough to you "I missed you" he confessed.
That little sentence wreaked havoc on your heart, which was beating fast against your chest. You smiled, stealing another kiss from Sunghoon's lips and resting your hands against his face, one on each side.
"I missed you too" you said quietly.
"Leaving Jake was in my plans from the moment he asked me to go to that bar" Sunghoon's voice could only be heard because of how close the two of you were. Otherwise, it would have been difficult to hear him "I should have come to see you before anything else."
"It's okay" you tried to reassure him, leaving a kiss against his jawline "You're here now and I'm glad we were able to meet."
He was more than happy to see you too, and it showed in the bright look he was giving you. The small smile adorning his red lips and the subtle touch on your cheek before Sunghoon moved a little away from your body.
"Now I have to go and check on the boys" he slid his hands into yours, interlacing your fingers in his, "or it'll be dangerous kissing you here."
"Why can Jake see us?" you whispered jokingly.
He moved closer again, brushing his lips against yours as he bent down to meet you.
"Because I can dawdle in your room."
You felt your knees tremble at the intense gaze, the warm breath against your mouth, and the grip of his hands. But he was right. Sunghoon had to leave before it was too late.
"I'll see you tomorrow" he said, kissing you once more before pulling you out into the hallway, out of sight of Jake's bedroom door.
While you walked him to the door, stumbling on the way as you exchanged numerous kisses with him, your brother continued to sleep peacefully in his bed. Not even imagining the scene that was unfolding inside your shared apartment.
Jake thanked Callie for having a brilliant mind and suggesting study time in his apartment – or because she knew Jay's friends well enough to know that they would all be hungover – especially the boy who couldn't even open his eyes properly.
Your brother's head had been lying on your lap since everyone had arrived and gathered in your living room. You hadn't had much interaction with Sunghoon apart from the few minutes Jake had been in the bathroom when Sunghoon arrived, managing to steal a quick kiss from you before sitting down on the other side of the sofa and facing you.
"Man, I don't think I'll ever drink again" Jake whined, looking up to meet your eyes, which had previously been on the notebook you kept for studying.
"You say that every Saturday morning" you said, causing all his friends to laugh.
"You all could have at least taken it easy" Callie finished writing something down in her notebook, looking at Jay who was squinting at his book.
"Yeah, tonight I think we crossed a line" Heeseung almost cried when he felt a twinge in his head.
"How about some coffee?" you suggested.
"We love you more than we love your brother. You know that, don't you?" Jay looked at you with eyes that were so affectionate, but at the same time so pleading, asking you to really make yourself something strong to drink.
"Stay away from her" Jake huffed.
In the middle of the laughter and side conversations, you quickly glanced at Sunghoon to see him already looking at you. With a wink in your direction, you contented yourself with not running to grab him, let alone trying to look so shy at the way he stared at you.
You only came back to reality when you felt Jake get up from your lap and sit down next to you on the sofa while you chatted with the boys.
Study time taking a break for them to reminisce about last night's events. You and Callie just laughing at their antics or how Jungwon had done so badly at the billiards. He and Jake were a team, hence your brother's state last night when he got home, having lost a whole round to Jay and Heeseung, drinking more than he should have.
"But the winner last night was our friend, Sunghoon" you hoped your brother wouldn't notice that the moment Sunghoon's name was mentioned, you stopped typing your report on the laptop in front of you. Looking from the screen to the boy on the other side of the room, you knew he was avoiding you when he cursed your brother.
"Fuck off, Jake. Don't talk nonsense" Sunghoon said.
"Am I lying?" Jake laughed a little, followed by the other boys.
Your gaze quickly fell on Callie. She was already looking between you and Sunghoon, trying to think of something she could do.
"That girl lied when she said she didn't know how to play billiards just so Sunghoon would help her" Jay said nonchalantly, putting his notebook aside and running a hand through his hair.
"I think she was interested in another cue" Heeseung said "Ouch" he shouted as Callie threw a cushion in his direction, hitting him in the face.
Everything seemed too far away as they talked and insisted on talking about Sunghoon and what had happened. You heard enough to know that this subject was the cause of your blurred vision and the burning in your eyes.
It was impossible to type a single word, let alone to know whether they were calling you to a meeting or not. You just looked at Sunghoon, who kept his hands clenched into fists, his gaze on you as he kept himself from getting up from the sofa and walking towards you.
You got up with the excuse that now you could make the coffee they so desperately needed. Sunghoon managed to follow you saying that he would help you since he was the only one in the room who wasn't hungover apart from you and Callie. By some miracle, your brother didn't even object, going back to talking about something when you and Sunghoon disappeared from everyone's view.
"Y/n…" his voice entered your ears like a heartbreaking sound. You didn't turn around immediately, concentrating instead on getting the container from the machine to prepare what you needed "Y/n, please…"
Your work in ignoring him was proving successful. Concentrating on getting the number of cups you needed and putting the coffee you needed in the machine were enough for you not to focus on his presence right behind you. But it all came to nothing when Sunghoon's hands grabbed your waist, pulling you around and turning you to face him.
"Listen to me, please" he asked once again.
"I'm making the coffee" you tried to change the subject, but it was getting harder and harder as his fingers tightened around your waist. Sunghoon looked disappointed and you didn't understand why, after all, you were the one who had heard things that really made your heart sink.
"Absolutely nothing happened in that bar" he began, his hands softening around your waist when he noticed that you had your attention on him "She stood in front of me, asked me to teach her how to play, and when she leaned over the table I walked away. I walked away and—"
"Why are you telling me this?" the image of the events flashed through your mind and made your eyes sting even more. Sunghoon knew you would cry and it killed him inside because he was feeling guilty enough.
"Because you deserve to know."
"Guys" Callie whispered, making you and Sunghoon almost jump in your seats. He turned away from you for a moment, and that was enough for the tears to fall freely down your cheeks "Jake went to the bathroom, but I think he'll be in soon to check on the coffee."
"Thanks for the warning, Callie" Sunghoon thanked. He didn't know if he was worthy of such a thing.
"Can you two finish without me?" your voice was broken and you didn't want to go on, so you quickly walked past Sunghoon and Callie out of the kitchen and straight up to your room.
Your best friend stood there, knowing that Sunghoon had a lot to say. And since you didn't want to hear it now, maybe she could do it in your place if he wanted to tell you right now.
"Are you sure you don't want to go?" Jake looked at your figure wrapped in the blanket and sitting on the edge of the sofa. You agreed, giving your best smile to your brother as he left a kiss on your forehead and walked out the door.
Counting the weeks you avoided Sunghoon, adding up the times you cried because you refused his calls or didn't want to cross his path when he came to the apartment you shared with your brother. It was painful to have to think about it, even more so because you were in a fucking secret relationship… And why? Because of your brother's idiotic jealousy? Because Sunghoon didn't want to lose Jake's friendship? Or because both you and Sunghoon were cowardly enough not to say anything?
Too many questions and no answers to what you were feeling. That was unfair. So long in hiding to have to end up like that, with him after you and your tears falling every night because you couldn't forget the bloody scene that was described. And what's more, with all his friends - including your brother - commenting with the greatest joy. Of course, none of them knew about you and Sunghoon, but it still hurt. It hurt so much that it suffocated you in a way.
"Fuck" you almost shouted in fright when your phone rang.
Watching the movie credits roll by and noticing that you'd rambled on so long that you hadn't even looked at the ending, but it didn't matter, that comedy had been seen so many times that you'd even memorized the line.
On the second ring, a loud music noise was heard for the first time. You even thought about saying something, maybe they'd hear you, but your best friend's voice was quick enough.
"Y/n? You have to come here" Callie practically shouted to overpower the music, which had worked because you heard her voice so well.
"I told you I don't want to leave…"
"No, you don't understand. You have to, y/n" she emphasized, and something inside you screamed. Jumping up from the sofa and not even knowing why, you ran upstairs to your room.
"What happened?" while you put the call on speaker, looking for an outfit, Callie seemed to be looking for a quiet place to talk to you. Finding the party bathroom, she locked the door behind her to continue the call.
"Well, let's say Sunghoon told your brother about you and him" she said, "and now Jake's furious and swearing to kill him."
You almost tore the T-shirt you were wearing, running to your phone with a hysterical scream.
"He what?" you reached for the handset before taking it in your hands "Shit, shit, shit. What did Sunghoon do?"
"Baby, I don't know. But you need to come quickly."
That's what you'd do, of course. You just didn't know that getting changed in five minutes, ordering an Uber in three, and being at the party in ten minutes would seem like an eternity to you.
Meeting Callie and Jay at the entrance, your friend hugged you quickly while Jay wrapped his arms around your body.
"I'm sorry, please y/n, I'm sorry" Jay said while still hugging you, slowly releasing your body until you could face him.
"For what, exactly?"
"For that stupid thing" he said as he walked you and Callie into the party "If we knew about you two, neither of us would joke about it."
The only thing you could do was agree and lean on one of Jay's arms so as not to get lost in the party. Thanking him for his words that had really made you smile, warming a little of your heart that was getting faster and faster as he guided you and Callie to a more secluded spot.
A corridor illuminated by red and pink lights, hurt your eyes so much that you wondered how people managed to stand there. It was almost impossible to walk past and not get a headache or something.
When you stopped walking, Jay stepped in front of you and you felt Callie's arms intertwine with yours. A way of saying that she was there without saying a word. That's why she was your best friend.
Everything seemed too quiet for your liking. Your eyes traveled from your brother to Sunghoon, neither of them with any bruises or cuts on their faces, everything intact and without any scratches. At least no physical force had been used.
Jake was the first to get up, walking towards you as he watched Callie disentangle herself to get some distance away from you.
"Jake" you called him.
"Y/n" he called back, taking your hand and clearing his throat in the process "I'm an idiot."
"What?" your eyes flicked past him and then to Sunghoon. Your heart raced and your legs trembled at the small smile that adorned your brother's mouth.
"I heard some truths from Sunghoon and I know I was extremely stupid."
"You… You two…"
You looked at Callie and Jay, the two of them close to the others while you were further away with your brother. Only Sunghoon looked at you and Jake.
"We got into a bit of an argument, but it wasn't that big" he said, "Heeseung had the idea for Callie to call you like that or you wouldn't have come to us tonight."
"I'll kill that asshole" you whispered, feeling your eyes fill with tears as Jake pulled you into a hug.
"I'm sorry if everything that happened hurt you, I really am, y/n" he whispered between your hair, wrapping his arms even tighter around you "I let my stupid jealousy speak louder and I didn't realize what was best for you."
"I think I can take care of myself and you can do it with me too, Jake" you whispered back before he pulled away to kiss your forehead "You just don't have to deprive me of a relationship…"
"Did it have to be with one of my best friends?" he whined.
"Of course! She can't do that to anyone else" you and Jake abruptly turned to Sunghoon. He had a faint smile at the corner of his lips as he looked at you both and then fixed his gaze on your face.
"Is this the time I go out and leave you two alone?" Jake asked, seeing you and Sunghoon agree "Okay. I'll be right there, whatever" he nodded, turning away from you and going to find the rest of the group of friends.
Sunghoon moved a little closer, his hands coming out of his pants pockets to reach for your hand and entwine your fingers in his, pulling you closer.
You thought about calling him, saying something or simply cursing him for telling your brother without telling you first. But as soon as his lips touched yours, the softness of his mouth against yours, everything was forgotten.
That's where you had to stay, that's where you belonged from the first kiss you exchanged. Sunghoon knew it too. He was sure that he had found everything he needed from the first moment he saw you, and touched you. He also knew that it would be a huge obstacle to tell Jake and try to get around his enormous jealousy of his little sister. But he didn't know how he'd managed it. The drink might have helped him a little to confess, even though he'd heard Jake swear at him a lot and almost threaten to hit him again.
But it would all be worth it if he had you in the end. He wasn't going to give up and that's what motivated him to do what he did. That's why he was sharing that kiss for the - second - first time in front of everyone.
"Sunghoon" you called after him as you ended the kiss, controlling your breathing as his hands went to your face and caressed your cheeks "Why did you do that? Tell Jake…"
"Because I want you, y/n. Since the first time, I've always wanted you" his voice lowered so that you could hear him, his lips still brushing against yours as he kissed you slowly once more "I was a coward not to tell your brother before and I almost had to lose you to realize it."
"But you didn't lose me, you idiot" his laugh tickled your lips, loving the way he was holding you so precisely.
Sunghoon left one last kiss on your lips before pulling away and entwining your fingers in his, pulling you into the group and sitting back down on the sofa. He pulled you along, and you sat next to him in the circle while smiling contentedly at the happy looks on your friends' faces.
They all shared in the joy of finally being able to see you and Sunghoon together. Jake controlled his jealousy because he trusted his friend enough to take care of his sister.
"You know, I should have taken that bat and hit that girl in the head" Heeseung finished his can of beer after everyone had changed the subject, congratulating you and Sunghoon on the secret that everyone had just discovered, except Callie.
"Heeseung!" Sunghoon laughed, slapping the arm of his friend who was sitting across from him.
"What? It's serious!" he sounded serious, which made you laugh too. Because Heeseung managed to lighten the mood while the conversation took another turn.
Now and then you managed to catch Sunghoon's eyes on you, and this time with the certainty that you could kiss him in front of everyone, without having to hide.

it was a normal, sunny day in the house of y/n and her brother. it had only been the two since their parents had left town for the week.
“hey, i’m gonna have my friends over. stay in your room,” the male said to her.
she gave an eye roll along with a disgusted look in return. “whatever, its not like i talk to your friends,” but she did.
her brother’s friend group consisted of heeseung, jay, jake, sunghoon, jaemin, and jisung. the enhypen members had been his long term friends ever since they were little — he met heeseung at the age of 10 and a few years along the way, the 02z liners popped up.
as they grew older, their group expanded when they came across jaemin and jisung in their high school years. ever since then, the group’s been growing and improving together.
with y/n’s brother meeting each boy at such a young age, the girl grew up with them as well. in such luck, her eyes trailed to jaemin. he was always so sweet to her that it caused her heart call to be for him and only him.
well, possibly not just for him.
when y/n got older, she realized that jaemin remained to just be a childhood crush. he was still the same guy she knew him as, but she just grew out of the fond memories she shared with him.
instead, she found herself to constantly look at sunghoon quite more often than she’d think.
she started to see him in a different way. the boy would always go back to the house with her brother after soccer practice, and just little gestures exchanged between the two sent heart throbs.
as time passed, she became more flustered around him — in which caused her to come to terms with the fact that she did like him. but they grew up together, they watched each other mature into the person they were.
that acknowledgement didn’t stop them though.
it had been a party thrown by her brother for who knows what; and one thing lead to another, and sunghoon had randomly admitted his feelings.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ — flashback
“you’re really pretty, you know that?” hoon uttered out in the silence, alcohol slightly reeking out of him.
y/n’s cheeks burned with red as she became flushed. “what?? that’s so random??” she tried to laugh off how awkward it was but only caused it to become more tense.
it was only the two of them in her room. the party was coming to an end with goodbyes, and sunghoon apparently needed his book back that she had borrowed, so they went to her bedroom (it was just an excuse).
when he received the object, he denied the request to go back out there as his social battery was running out (another excuse).
the boy just wanted some alone time, who can blame him?
“i’m serious,” hoon murmured. he turned to face her as they remained to be sitting on the edge of the bed, legs touching and feet near each other.
“uhm.. thank you?” she replied, emphasizing her question mark at the end.
he gave a light chuckle, showing his wide grin as he said, “why’d you say it like that?”
y/n quickly scrunched her brows together, giving a swift shrug to her shoulders before she replied, “i don’t know?? how else am i supposed to thank you?”
“with a kiss.” his lips crashed against hers in an instant. she was taken back for a second but melted in once she felt the tug of his lips.
he pulled away not too long after to let the longing for another sink in. a grin played on his lips, fully amused of her flustered state.
“you just kissed me..,” y/n raised her hands to her lips to graze where his lips had touched hers just seconds ago.
“i like you loser, you haven’t noticed that?” sunghoon said with a chuckle. his brows raised up as he continued to watch her try to find her words.
her mouth opened to speak but nothing could come out. he truly made her at a loss for words with the sudden surge of confidence he had to kiss and confess.
“guess you’ve just been too busy gawking at jaemin huh?” his lips curled into a smirk afterward, causing the girl to hit his shoulder.
“shut up!” they giggled together before the door had suddenly boomed open to the sight of her brother in a drunken state.
“hey.. it’s my friend, sunghoon and my sister, y/n! what are you guys doing?” he slurred out with fluttered eyes.
she rolled her eyes at him while trying to slowly back away from the boy she had just kissed. “oh god, you’re drunk, aren’t you?”
“no bro, my tolerance is good.” his feet soon stumbled down and so did his body. the stupid male fell down to the floor with how drunk he was.
“oh my god…,” she mumbled, giving a heavy sigh as she kneeled down beside him.
sunghoon softly laughed at watching how the siblings interacted.
“sorry..” she slightly whispered to him as she shook her brother who was on the floor.
“it’s okay y/n, we’ll talk soon.” he blinked his eyes in reassurance as he walked over to his friend. “rest well dude,” a soft pat was made to the boy on the floor as hoon smiled and walked out her bedroom door.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
they haven’t talked as much since then.
and as much as y/n’s brother denied it, he was protective of her and sunghoon knew that. he had a younger sister himself, so he understood.
he always remembered the words of her brother that echoed in his head — “y/n’s my little sister, she’s off limits.”
in retrospect, they specifically went out to jaemin as y/n’s name always rolled off of his tongue.
but sunghoon liked the girl. he always did. watching each other grow was something special as he admired from afar.
when she got to an older age, he found it difficult to get her out of his head. they were three years apart though and he acknowledged that, so he tried to move on.
but it didn’t help that they had just kissed months ago. she’d been stuck in his mind just as he was to her.
so when her brother had mentioned his friends coming over, she had to act as if she was unfazed.
a few knocks on the door were made and the whole friend group came flooding in. the boys soon comfortably situated themselves on the couch.
“where’s y/n?” jaemin asked, taking a sip of his opened soda afterward. sunghoon’s ears perked up as he waited for the answer.
“who cares about her?” her brother responded, truthfully remaining a little curious as to why he asked for her.
“oh come on, your sister’s cute.”
the girl’s brother morphed into an appalled look. “ha ha very funny. you’re disgusting, jaemin.”
he raised his arms in defense, hearing the others chime in as well. “that’s his little sister, bro.” jake said with a chuckle.
“says the one who’s dating her friend!”
the australian boy quickly shut his mouth after.
“he’s got you there,” heeseung amusingly added.
jaemin puffed out his lips as he let air pass. “you’re dating her other friend, hee” jisung squeaked out with a giggle.
heeseung became quiet, causing loud laughs to erupt from the group.
“you guys may be dating her friends, but that doesn’t mean you can date her.” y/n’s brother defensively said.
sunghoon trailed his eyes from the left and then to the right as he quietly whispered, “oh fuck.”
they weren’t exactly dating, but they still shared small pecks on the lips whenever they had the chance.
he couldn’t help it, it was like a craving.
“you’re quiet hoon,” jake mischievously spoke.
everybody landed their eyes on the boy as he took a gulp. “i just need to take a piss” he mumbled, avoiding eye contact as he got up and left.
“strange…,” y/n’s brother uttered.
“strange indeed,” heeseung whispered, sharing a suspicious glance to jake. they definitely heard something from their partners.
as sunghoon found his way to the bathroom, he also searched for y/n. luckily, her bedroom was near so he didn’t have to look far.
“y/n?” he quietly peeped, head peaking through the crack of the door.
a gasp was heard from the other end. “sunghoon?” she harshly whispered, widening the door crack to a smiley hoon.
“missed you,” he quietly mumbled in her ear while closing the door behind him. his arms wrapped around her, sighing in the warm embrace she exuded.
“missed you too.” she shyly said back with her head against his broad chest.
“y/n?? is that sunghoon?” her airpod muffled out.
the boy raised his brows before turning his head to her phone and finding her on call with her friends — min-su, dae, and ji-woo.
“you’re calling them?”
“yeah..”
in seconds, she could hear them go quiet in her ears, only for them to go loud again with booming questions; a few about their boyfriends who were at her house and a few about their undefined relationship.
she groaned out a sigh before double tapping her airpod, disconnecting from the call.
“sorry, i wanted to be kept busy while you guys were here.” y/n pushed her lips into a firm line to display how awkward she was feeling.
hoon gave a chuckle as a response — “i could’ve been helping you with that.” his brows raised in a suggestive way, earning a loud slap on his arm.
“ew sunghoon!” her face struck in horror as his words replayed in her ears.
truth be told, she got butterflies in her stomach with how close he was when he said it, but that didn’t stop her from hitting him. “the way you’re so confident right now is crazy, what if my brother finds you in my room like this?”
the inner corner of his lips slowly curled in mischief. “don’t worry gorgeous, he hasn’t found out the past few times i’ve visited you for a kiss.”
y/n’s eyes widened at the nickname. “gorgeous??? god hoon, you need to be put down.” she shook her head before rubbing her fingers on her temple. the boy was stressing her out but she was secretly enjoying the little things he was risking for her.
“i’m serious loser, if he finds out, we’re both done for. you know how he is!”
sunghoon grinned ear to ear, simply melting from her stressed state. “i know i know, you’re just so mesmerizing that i have to come back to you.”
he grabbed her chin from the bottom and smiled in amusement, enjoying how flustered he could make her with his flirtatious acts.
“i don’t know whether to feel disgusted or special right now,” she murmured, slightly killing the romantic mood.
he scoffed at her words. “you should feel special.” his head dipped lower to her lips, foreheads bunking while closing the gap as she whispered, “should i?”
his lips curled into a smile, uttering — “mhm” before letting their lips meet. her hands wrapped around his neck to pull him closer.
it was a soft kiss with how gentle he was going, but he still let a low groan leave his lips as his brows scrunched together.
hoon had finally got his craving, but the hungry desire was building up.
before he could go any further, y/n quickly pulled away to let him linger for more. he tried to connect their lips back together again but she stopped him with a head turn.
sunghoon was confused and his face showed it, causing the girl to softly laugh at his reaction.
“that was cute, but you have to go back before he notices you weren’t even in the bathroom in the first place.” she quietly said against his lips.
“so let him,” he groaned out before attempting to swoop in for another kiss.
she dodged it again as she shook her head. “no hoon, i’m serious. he might actually kick your ass.”
sunghoon rolled his eyes, tone becoming bitter as he replied, “so close to telling him for us.”
she gave a giggle at his words before nudging his arm. “just go back.”
“but-“
“hoon??” a voice from the hallway called out.
the two froze together before y/n slightly pushed him away from her.
the voice didn’t belong to her brother, but she knew it was one of the boys.
in seconds, jake peaked in through the door. he caught on a little too quick as he automatically smiled.
“what’s going on in here hm?”
sunghoon’s face peered into repulse at the sight of his friend. “shut up dude.”
jake softly chuckled before continuing on, “he sent me up here to check on you since you were taking too long in the bathroom. guess you just got lost in y/n’s room huh?”
y/n smiled and shook her head at the boy. “shut up jake…,”
he laughed in return as sunghoon’s cheeks were faintly colored red. “i’ve been knowing all along bro, ji-woo told me already. jisung owes me.. but you don’t have to look all embarrassed.” he nudged his arms in a playful way as the girl continued to laugh. “her brother might kill you though..”
“let’s just go. you’re embarrassing me,” sunghoon muttered, grabbing hold of the shorter boy to leave the room.
“hey don’t worry, i won’t tell anyone! and tell ji-woo to text me back y/n, yeah?” jake shouted. he earned a head smack from hoon in return so her brother couldn’t hear anything.
the two bickered like siblings as they walked through the hallway, leaving y/n alone in her bed. a smile curled onto her lips before she went back to her phone and rejoined the call with her friends, not forgetting to tell ji-woo to text jake back.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
days had passed since the boys came over. within the time gone, y/n’s brother had received news that he was getting promoted to a higher position in his job.
to celebrate, a party came in mind.
night arrived and the event soon began.
the party didn’t consist of a lot of people, but there were enough to cause social anxiety in the host’s sister.
she didn’t bother to converse with many people as she stayed near her friends — who, of course, were dating her brother’s friends so she stayed lingering around by herself.
the poor girl sighed to herself as she was alone.
no sight of hoon could be found but even if she did find him, she couldn’t risk it. to be quite frank, they hadn’t talked in a while. and along with that, they hadn’t kissed, so tension between them was growing.
it only worsened though when she found him to be talking to some girl.
just a random girl she didn’t know.
it didn’t matter that she didn’t know who that girl was, it mattered that he was talking to someone else who wasn’t her.
the 5’11 boy was seemingly enjoying the conversation he was having with her, laughing about who knows what. it boiled her blood to see that he was giving that same smile he gave her when they kissed the day that jake interrupted them.
she knew it was to throw off suspicions from her brother but did he really have to do it too well?
✩ ‘baby, am i your little secret?’ ✩
“want some company?” a familiar voice asked her, interrupting her train of thought.
y/n looked up and found jaemin offering her a can of soda. “sure,” she murmured with a smile.
he took the seat beside her as he sighed. “it’s overwhelming isn’t it?”
she peeked her eyes at him once she took a sip of her beverage. “yeah… i’d rather not interact with all of them.” her chuckle was soft as he reflected it in the same tone.
“still the same shy girl i know huh?”
she didn’t like him anymore, but that sure had her slightly flustered. her eyes widened a bit as she turned to him — “i’m not shy! i just don’t want to talk to people” — she defended.
jaemin’s laugh became louder as he teased, “yeah right. i know you y/n, you’re not one to talk first.”
the girl rolled her eyes in defeat. “okay okay fine.”
he grinned again while bunking shoulder to shoulder with her. “so who are you willing to talk to then?”
they met eyes right away and almost immediately, his gaze softened.
her inner child would be screaming with how close he was right now.
but she didn’t like him, not anymore. she liked sunghoon.
and no matter how close her old crush was near her, she couldn’t stop thinking about how hoon might’ve been doing something else with that girl.
y/n softly pulled away as her eyes twinkled in the light. “just anyone really,” she said with a half smile.
jaemin’s left corner of his lips curled as he smiled and nodded.
“i used to like you, you know?” he suddenly admitted.
her head quickly whipped to him as he chuckled at her reaction. “yeah i used to like you but i backed off because of your brother.”
she felt her heart pounding from his words but she didn’t know if it was from her younger self screaming in joy, or what.
“you did?” the girl asked, fingertips unusually becoming numb.
he nodded his head and gave a bread smile. “you were so cute when you were little.” he gazed his eyes down, going into remembrance of how they used to be in their younger years.
when y/n opened her mouth to speak, she felt a quick tug fling at her wrist.
in seconds, she was pulled away from the brown haired boy who was just as confused as her. her eyes glanced up and found a jealous sunghoon in front of her.
from what she didn’t see, hoon had been observing from afar. he didn’t mean to go stalker mode but he couldn’t help it with how jaemin had suddenly approached his girl.
his eyes darted at the two, resisting it all in himself to not pull her right away. he had enough of it though when he saw how close his friend had gotten to her. his jaw clenched when he imagined the possibility of jaemin connecting his lips with the girl he’s been wanting to kiss.
“hoon?”
“shut up.” he angrily spat out.
his grip accidentally became tighter as he continued to drag her up to her room, not caring if her brother had seen (he didn’t).
when they finally got to her room, he shut the door and pinned her against it.
she slightly winced in pain, almost causing him to let go of his rough act. it didn’t work though because the thought of jaemin and her closely together angered him even more.
he felt a bitter grudge fill every inch of his body as his jaw tensed, eyes staring deeply into hers.
“you gonna keep talking to jaemin, or should i tell your brother?” one hand was slammed against the door, near her head as the other still held onto her, caging her to himself.
“you know jaemin and i aren’t-“
“then why do you keep talking to him?” sunghoon cut her off, sounding sour in his tone as his eyes never dared to leave hers.
y/n slightly rolled her eyes. she liked seeing him jealous but he was honestly annoying her.
“why do you care?” she challenged. her lips softly grinned as he mirrored it, enjoying how confident she got.
he inched his face closer to hers, breath becoming hot and heavy against her — allowing the girl to reel in the scent of alcohol he radiated.
their lips were so close to touching, so close to finally meeting again after days of intense silence.
sunghoon lingered his eyes on her lips, tracing every part of it with his vision before moving onto her eyes.
the boy peered his gaze into her, slowly displaying that his orbs were pleading with lust and hunger.
he licked his lips, letting his tongue peek a little for her to see as he raised his brows and gave a smug smile at the same time.
“you belong to me,” he whispered.
butterflies and nervous sensations hit every part of y/n’s body with just those words. she felt weak in the knees in how he delivered his sentence.
the words were so possessive and yet charming.
hoon’s head dipped in to close the small gap between them, only for y/n to stop him with a hand on his chest.
the tension couldn’t be cut through with how much they craved for each other.
he slightly backed away, brows faintly raising as she shook her head. “you’re drunk, sunghoon.”
he gave a laughing scoff before letting his eyes trail back to her lips. “am i? because why is it that all i can imagine right now is how you kissed me the other day.”
he placed his thumb on her bottom lip, pulling it back as his mouth opened as well. a soft groan erupted out of his throat while holding himself back from smashing their lips against each others.
she was so close to giving in.
his desperation for a kiss had her almost folding. but she had to stop herself.
he was drunk, and she wasn’t about to take advantage of his vulnerable state.
it was something, but it was not the way.
when sunghoon tried to dive in for another kiss on the lips, y/n’s hands firmly placed itself on his muscled shoulders.
“you’re not in the best state to make decisions right now.” she stared deeply at him as he furrowed his brows.
“are you sure about that?” hoon’s head drooped to her shoulders, allowing her to instantly feel his hot breath.
he whimpered out a sigh at the feel of his lips on her clothed skin. “you drive me crazy,” he whispered, placing wet kisses at her shoulder and leading up to her collarbone.
as he attempted to do so, his eyes closed a little longer than he wished. and instantly, he was knocked out.
she huffed out a sigh, half in laughter and half in annoyance that his body weight was suddenly depending on her. “geez,” she mumbled. “kissing me and now you’re asleep.”
her hands pushed him off of her so he could fall back on the bed.
the girl smiled as her gaze softened with each second she admired him. “sleep well idiot,” she whispered before turning out the lights.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
when morning came, sunghoon’s eyes forced itself awake from the bright light.
a pounding was taken to the head as he groaned out in pain. he looked around, eyes scanning everywhere as little placements of the room began to be recognized.
he peaked his head up to the left, soon finding a barrier of pillows in the middle of the bed, separating him and the girl he liked. y/n remained softly asleep on her side as she was all the way at the edge of the bed.
once he blinked enough to gain conscious of how far she was, he softly smiled.
“cute,” he quietly mumbled to himself.
as he was about to reach for a blanket to cover her up, the door was suddenly opened to y/n’s brother. his mouth gaped open in shock as his eyes widened.
“what the hell are you doing in my sister’s room???” he loudly questioned, awakening y/n.
she blinked in confusion before gaining hold that she slept in the same bed as sunghoon, and her brother had just caught her.
“calm down,” she grumbled while tiredly rubbing her eyes.
her brother clicked his tongue before yelling — “get the hell out of her bed sunghoon! what the hell is wrong with you?”
with said, hoon jumped out of the bed, only for the older boy to skip close to him. “that’s my sister!!”
“okay look-“
“no! get out! you are not getting anywhere closer to her”
“you can’t do that!” y/n defensively screamed.
“shut the hell up! you’re a kid, you can’t- he can’t- just get out of here sunghoon!”
the younger male quickly rushed out, not needing to be told twice to do such a thing as he panicked.
a few hours passed and her brother continued to rage even though hoon had left.
“are you kidding me, y/n??”
she rolled her eyes and sighed. “it’s not that big of a deal as you’re making it.”
“you’re eighteen and he’s twenty-one dumbass! he’s older than you by three years, what makes you think this is okay??”
“we like each other and it’s genuine.”
“you’re a kid, y/n. he’s gonna be in his mid twenties soon and you just turned eighteen. you don’t even know what’s best from left to right. how are you gonna handle it if he breaks up with you??
“well i guess we’ll just have to wait and see huh!” she yelled, rolling her eyes and rubbing her temple in irritation. “three years isn’t as bad as you’re making it.”
“it is when you’re just fucking eighteen, stupid.”
“calm the fuck down,” she took a sigh in as she mentally told herself to calm down. “okay look, i know you’re pissed because he’s your friend and he’s three years older than me, but i’m telling you, him and i match really well.”
her brother gave a soft scoff, shaking his head in disappointment as he said, “you’re just gonna get hurt, dumbass.”
she knew he was being protective, but he couldn’t control her love life.
“sunghoon and i are-“
“are what? together now?” he ridiculed.
y/n rolled her eyes. “would it really be that bad for us to be together?”
before she could say anything else, he walked away. her brother didn’t want to hear what she had to say anymore. the argument would only be going back and forth so he left it as it is.
. . • ☆ . ° .• °:. *₊ ° . ☆
a few days had passed since the incident, and y/n’s brother hasn’t talked to her or sunghoon.
in fact, y/n and hoon haven’t talked to each other either. they felt it best to keep a distance for the time being.
when it was late in the night, the girl was calling the same four friends as usual. they yapped on and on about various topics.
as her friend, dae continued to talk about his date with jungwon, a light tapping was made on the window.
being the paranoid girl she was, her heart stopped before she turned to her phone — “did you guys hear that?? that wasn’t just me right..,”
“girl.. i heard it too,” said ji-woo with a clear eyebrow raise.
“uhm me too but i didn’t want to say it,” dae quirked out.
“you’re being haunted y/n,” min-su commented with a smile.
“shut up!” the girl on the other end yelled, hands shakily grabbing hold of the phone to see if she missed any notifications that could be related to the tapping window.
indeed, she did.
hoonie :) : It’s me
hoonie :) : Open please ..
y/n huffed out a sigh as she went to the window. “hold on guys, i’ll be back.” she told her friends, ending the call while opening the window to sunghoon.
he came tumbling in, chest heaving up and down. “finally,” he breathed.
“what are you doing here, sunghoon?” her arms folded together in curiosity.
the boy breathed heavily as he caught his breath.
“i just..,” he stopped himself to get closer to her, hands cupping her cheeks as he lovingly stared. “i just wanted to see you.”
“what if-“
“it’s okay, i’ll only be here for a second. i just really missed you.”
y/n cracked a smile as his cheesy words caused her heart to thump in joy.
“i missed you too…,” she quietly said before leaning in for a small peck on the lips.
“you just stole my next act,” hoon replied with a pout.
she laughed at his reaction, rolling her eyes as her hands trailed up to his own. “just do it again.”
and he did.
the male pushed himself toward her lips after being granted with permission.
his hands became tighter around her cheeks as he forced more of his lips on hers, pushing her back so she could hit the wall. she softly groaned from the act while he felt relieved to feel her lips on his again.
with them keeping a distance, the tension easily grew and the kiss had just satisfied that, but he craved for more.
he was hungry, and thrilled, even, to finally have their lips connect. it was evident with how much his grip tightened around her waist.
the girl finally pulled away, hands holding him back as she panted deeply for fresh air. “gosh..,” she breathed, fisting her hands so she could harshly bump it against his strong chest.
sunghoon gave a faint laugh in return. his head bunked against hers as he placed a sweet kiss on the top of her nose.
“i’ve been waiting.”
y/n rolled her eyes, softly hitting his arm as she said, “he’s really gonna find out!”
“let him, he already knows.”
he connected his lips with hers again, almost sloppy with the way they touched, but it was nothing but sweet.
he intended to keep the mood that way and so did she.
“hoon..,” she mumbled against his lips. “he could-“
“shut up.” sunghoon smashed his lips against hers, muffling out the leftover words in her mouth as she melted into it.
she felt her heart rate exceed at an unhealthy pace when his finger nails dug into the flesh of her waist.
he pulled away again, panting hard while still leaving littered kisses on her lips.
“stop kissing me, hoon! im scared,” she pushed him away with a hit on his shoulder.
sunghoon only chuckled as a reaction, finding it amusing with how afraid she was. his fangs shined in her eyes as he continued to laugh.
“you’re cute when you worry,” he teased.
his hand reached to her hair, tucking a few strands behind as he looked at her with yearning eyes.
“gorgeous girl,” he whispered before placing a soft kiss on her cheek. “your brother may scare me too, but he can’t completely break us apart.”
y/n’s lips curled into a smile as she quietly agreed. “plus, you’re already mine.” he added on, intertwining his hands with hers and raising it as proof.
she rolled her eyes and nodded her head — “fine fine, but if he catches us, i’m blaming you.”
he cracked out a laugh — “okay gorgeous.” he dragged her to her bed before wrapping his arms around her. his head rested on top of hers as their legs dangled together.
as they remained on the bed, trying to be as secretive as possible, y/n checked her phone real quick to text her group chat that she wasn’t gonna join back.
but a few quick texts from her brother had stopped her.
‘I know he’s there dumbass’
‘He better treat you right’
she grinned ear to ear after feeling a heavy weight lift off of her shoulders.
a quick like and response to the message was made before shutting her phone off and turning to sunghoon.
“he knows,” she whispered.
his eyes blew up in shock. “he does??”
“mhm, and he’s okay with it so you better be glad.” she said, letting her hands go to his hair to play with it.
y/n picked at the soft strands that peaked out, smiling as she felt her heart warming up with him.
hoon watched her play with his hair, eyes longing with love as her embrace was becoming home to him.
the two stayed in their position a little longer before ultimately deciding to watch a movie together.
the night ended in a softhearted silence as they slept in each other’s arms. she was sound asleep with his hoodie on while he clung onto her.
everything felt right with the world now that they were together without the burden of her brother.

leaning against the wall, whilst your friends are conversing with the boys they’ve just met.
you sigh out of boredom. why’d you even join them? you hate parties anyway.
“hey, are you good?” one of your friends ask, due to your quietness throughout the night.
“mhm, i’m just gonna use the restroom.” well, that’s a lie. you need to catch a breather after suffocating in a mansion full of people.
“should i come with you?” she asks, whilst she settles the half-empty glass on the island.
“it’s okay, you enjoy. i’ll be back.” you reply.
“alright then, be safe. message us if something happens.” she says in a stern voice, before returning to her conversation.
smiling at her, as you make your way up the spiral staircase, lights illuminating each step.
second floor, there’s some random people here, you continue up.
ah the third floor, not a single person in sight. perfect. some peace until your friends drag you back down.
the mansion is quite huge, why was everyone crowded on the first floor? whatever, that’s none of your concerns. you’re at peace now.
the roof is high, and adorned with an elegant design.
your pace is slow, just strolling down the long, broad hallway. you see a huge balcony with a full view of the moonlit sky. beautiful.
you stare down, looking at all the cars driving in and out of the driveway, watching each person enter the mansion. was it weird? probably, but it’s not like you had any ill intentions.
your thoughts are distracted when you see a familiar individual enter the yard, making their way to the entrance of the mansion. park sunghoon, the imbecile that interferes with you at any given chance. it’s as if he’s asking for a punch in the throat. he does everything to piss you off.
but he is undeniably attractive.
his eyes lock with yours, a shit-eating smirk that can be seen from the third floor of a mansion. oh lord, peace is not an option tonight.
your eyes remain stuck on eachother. you’ve never been the one to lose an eye-contact battle. unfortunately for him, jake startles him, resulting in him breaking eye contact.
cute, wait what?
a few minutes go by, your friends are probably looking for you, as you’re about to turn around, you see sunghoon walking to you.
sigh p2. what does he want now?
you pull out your phone
f/n : where are you? are you okay??
you : all good, i’m upstairs, just catching up with a friend
f/n : thank god, okay be safe
“didn’t know that your phone is more interesting than me..i’m a bit hurt” he says, as he stares at the sky.
“nice.” you reply, with no care whatsoever.
“you know.. i’m starting to think that you actually hate me, is there a problem between us?” he asks with a serious tone.
“ask yourself that, you’re always the one to start arguments. do you expect me to kiss your cheek everytime you piss me off?” you scoff at him.
“honestly, i’d love that.” he says as he stares at you, whilst he tilts his head.
“excuse me?” you take a step back.
“you know that i only like to trouble you because you’re absolutely adorable, when you’re worked up. i like you a lot, y/n. you’re super funny and your personality is attractive.. just like your looks.” he confesses, taking a step towards you.
“cute, but i have a boyfriend.”
lie #2. you hate boys.
“mhm, you’re cuter but i know you don’t have a boyfriend. you hate boys.” he says, as he bends down to your height, trying to read your expression.
“and what makes you think that i’ll accept you? are you a girl?” you reply, waiting for an answer.
“i’m a man, i could be your man.”
well that definitely caught you off guard. the red tint on your skin does not go unnoticed by sunghoon. you can feel all your pride exiting your body as he chuckles at your state.
“you’re even cuter when you’re flustered, i’ll keep doing this until you’re mine.” he says, caging you against the balcony.
shit, how do you get out of this? at this rate, you’ll explode because of him.
your gazes are stuck on one another. you’re at a loss of words. you’re not ready for him to tease you about this for the rest of your life.
as you ponder of ways to get back at him, he tilts his head again.
him and those head tilts, drives you insane.
you’re about to say something but your lips land against his cheek instead. what. did. you. do. why do you always act on your impulsive thoughts?
the hue of his face turns to the deepest shade of red, as he’s processing what happened.
to him, this is probably a dream come true.
you smirk at him, knowing that you won this time.
“what’s wrong, park? moonstruck?” you tease him, as he continues to trap you with his arms.
“moonstruck indeed.” were his last words before he pressed his lips against yours.
your arms wrapping around him, whilst his hands are firm on your waist. he whispers praises and compliments between kisses, completely melting you.
“you know, my friends would be so confused if they saw us together.” you giggle as your hands rest around his neck.
“true, but it’s just the two of us.” he says before diving into your lips again.

I've been saur busy with school like we have exams like almost every week but im still trying to keep up with my writing. I really hope this came out good, pls lmk!! taglist us open and so are requests! enjoy readingg
finally.
school's over, and summer has started. finally.
you were walking home from the subway to your apartment, your comfy bed and pretty boyfriend waiting for you at your humble abode. sunhhoon wanted to stay over at your place after finals were done because now you have the time of your lives.
you head bobs to the music resonating in your over-the-head headphones, jazzy tunes playing. hands wrapped around your backpack strap. you and so many plans for the summer. first thing was to visit your family back in your hometown with sunghoon, and luckily enough, his parents only live a few streets away so you both planned to meet his parents as well, maybe even have a mini get together.
as you get into the elavator, excitement buzzed in your veins. the thought of finally having to spend some time with your boyfriend is something you wanted for a while now. studying in different universities was hard. he was majoring in science while you in buisness. due to having finals around the same time. you couldn't meet each other for more than two weeks. yeah of course, messaging and facetiming was a thing but being in your third year really put your head in the books for the last two months of the final semester. and now, you say that it payed off in the end, because here you are with a smile on your face, content with how the exam went.
you walk into your place with open arms, wanting to hug hoon as soon as you saw him, but to your knowledge he wasn't there. not in the living room, or the kitchen, or the bedroom. with a slight pout you turn to the bathroom to see if he was there and bingo, he was. looks like he just finished showering.
after he comes out, for some reason, he doesn't see you when he walks past you, into your shared bedroom, humming a random tune. you let out a small pout and follow in his footsteps.
"Hoon, I'm home. did you not see me?"
he gets lightly startled upon seeing you, "i thought you were coming late 'cause of your exam..."
"well, they let us out early," you reason as you watch him retrieve the hair dryer from the dresser, taking a seat on the floor in front of your full length mirror.
"how did the exam go, love?" he pulls you towards him, causing you to loose your footing, making you fall on top of him, your turned into a giggling mess and sunghoon couldnt help but also laugh, dimples making a display.
"it went really well. I'm happy."
"that's good to hear."
you hum as you take the electronic device in your hands, plugging it in and and getting comfortable on his lap. you dry his for him, brushing your fingers through his locks gently. he sighs in contentment before wrapping his arms around your waist more tightly pressing his chin to your chest before looking at you in the eyes.
"you're beautiful."
he always knew how to make your face go red. he loved see you in that shade.
"shut up hoon."
"thank you beautiful." he says after you finish blow drying his hair.
and you both spent the rest of the night, having some take out, maybe even a little it of making out, ending the chill night with some much needed cuddles.

note HI! I'm back with a fic!! I wanted to write something out real quick and was feeling like angsty saur this is the result!! Hope you guys like it :)
Why can’t I just say how I feel? Why can't I just let Sunghoon know?
It shouldn’t be hard. It should be natural. The most natural thing on earth. Everyone does it, right? Everyone’s always done it. It’s nothing. Just one small step. A few words. A few taps of a keyboard, even.
I reach for my phone. I’m gonna do it. I could call you, or… no. I’ll text. It’s less stressful that way, for me and for you. It lets us make sure we say precisely what we mean. Less chance for misunderstandings.
I open up my messages and scroll to your name. It’s not hard to find. I could pick your face out of a crowd anywhere. Opening the conversation, I start to type.
Hey Sunghoon, I was just wondering, would you maybe-
No.
That’s not good. It’s too weak. Too apprehensive. You’d smell the fear through the screen. I need to project confidence. I try again.
Hey, do you want to go to dinner with me sometime?
I ponder this for a while, eventually shaking my head. It’s too abrupt and unclear. You might not realise that I mean as a date. You might think I’m talking about a casual platonic meetup. That’s not a mistake I want to make. I want you to know what I’m asking. I want to know what your answer means. Sighing, I glance around my room, searching for inspiration. It’s a waste of time. Hundreds of books and movies, yet not a single one can give me the answers I need. In desperation, I turn to the world’s most treacherous source of advice. The internet.
Sure, there’s a lot of garbage on there, but if you slog past the cheesy pick-up lines and pseudo-psychology, there really are a few hidden gems. Not that I can find them. Almost everything I read is about dating in person. Standing up straight. Projecting confidence through physicality. Maybe even a bit of light contact, a hand on the arm, that sort of thing. Solid advice, but utterly useless to me since, you know, you’re halfway across the country right now. Still, slowly but surely, I cobble something together that sounds more or less decent.
Hey, I know you were back in town recently. How about Friday we go for dinner at that pizza place you like, then afterwards take a walk through the park? They’ve revamped the gardens, and I think you’d love them.
Dinner and a romantic, moonlit walk. That sounds like a date, I suppose. I’ve managed to make my intentions clear. Plus, I sound confident. No umming and ahhing, no self-defeatism. The best thing of all is it gives you an easy out. If you’re not interested, you can say you’re busy that night. If you genuinely are busy, you can suggest another time. It’s not like the park is going anywhere.
The message is perfect. I’ve done it.
I’m ready.
Now, there’s only one thing left to do.
It’s just a shame it’s the hardest thing of all. My finger hovers over the send button, unable to take that final step. I keep telling myself to just press it and get this whole thing over with. But that annoying little voice in my head keeps arguing. What if they say no? What if they decide they hate me? What if they don’t want to talk to me anymore? It’s times like this that I wish I drink. A little bit of liquid courage is exactly what I need right now. That’d shut the damn voice up. But I don’t take a drink. Instead, I do the stupidest thing possible. I give myself time to think. Yeah. I’m an idiot.
Before long, that little voice is running rampant. What am I doing? This is stupid. So, so stupid. Sure, I want more from our relationship. But what if you don’t? What if, by doing this, I ruin our friendship? I don’t want to lose you. I tell myself again and again that I’m overthinking. That you aren’t like that. That it would take more than a bit of awkwardness to drive a wedge between us. But I’m not convinced.
Sure, maybe we’d be fine for now. But what if you find someone else? Will they be okay with us being friends, knowing how I feel about you? I’m not so sure. Besides, I know that you’re not exactly looking for a relationship right now. Truth be told, it’s probably not the best time for me either. But that shouldn’t matter, not really. If two people are right for each other, they can overcome anything, can’t they? The timing might not be ideal, but we can get past it.
Then again- I almost scream in frustration. I can’t do this anymore. Picking up my phone, I delete the message, deciding to wait until you’re back and tell you how I feel face to face. It’ll be better that way. I can put all that advice to use and win you over with my charming smile.
I’m lying to myself, of course.
I know the odds are good that I’ll still find a way to bottle it. I’ll still talk myself down. But maybe, just maybe, I won’t. Maybe I’ll find a way to beat that annoying little voice. Do you know what the worst thing is? You probably think I won’t say anything because you don’t mean enough to me. That my fear of rejection is stronger than my feelings for you. You couldn’t be more wrong. In a weird, paradoxical way, the strength of my feelings for you are what stops me from saying anything. You’re amazing. The most perfect human being I’ve ever met. Every time I see your smile, my heart soars like an eagle. And when I hear your laugh, dimple on display, my body glows with happiness. Even when I’m just listening to you vent about your troubles, I feel like I’m hearing a classic tale equal to anything Shakespeare, Austen, Hemingway ever created.
Because you’ve nailed the most important part of storytelling. You’ve made me care about the protagonist. You’ve made me care about you. And I couldn’t bear it if I did something stupid enough to drive you from my life.
The next couple of weeks pass in a blur. I throw myself into school work, glad of the distraction. In the brief moments I let myself think of you, I begin to convince myself that I really will tell you how I feel. That by not saying anything, I could be robbing us of so much time together. By the week before you’re due back, I’m certain. The next time I see you, I’m asking you out.
My muscles finally relaxing, I slump back into a chair. I’ve spent a long day at my desk and am ready to unwind. Turning on the TV, I grab my phone and begin mindlessly scrolling through social media to catch up with what my friends have been doing. I see some pictures of you celebrating a friends' birthday. I smile. You’re happy, and that makes me happy.
But then I swipe to the last picture and see you wrapped up in somebody else’s arms, your rosy lips pressed against theirs.
Fuck.
My head spins. My chest tightens. I feel like I’m about to pass out.
Putting down my phone, I put my head in my hands and start to cry. Why didn’t I tell you how I feel? Why didn’t I atleast try to see if you felt the same way? Why do I have to be so damn broken?
a/n: tysm for reading!! Hope y'all liked it

My little human ❤️🔥: hoonie can you come in here for a sec?
It doesn’t take Sunghoon too long to act on Y/N’s request, excusing himself from Heeseung and Karina who are currently in the middle of of setting up everything considering Y/N, who's supposed to be hosting the annual Christmas dinner party, isn’t able to due to her prior plans.
He knocks on Y/N’s door, only stepping in once his human tells him to come in because as much as she’s shameless, the demon still values giving her the space and privacy she needs and he doesn’t really know what to expect every time he enters her bedroom. Though he may have an idea on what his human could be up to if he takes her Christmas evening plans into account; primping up to look presentable enough to not fall under her own parents’ scrutiny for once.
In spite of all that, Sunghoon still considers what Y/N likes to do when it comes to killing time; and while she does want to put at least a bit of effort in being civil with her parents, the demon wouldn’t put it past him that she might as well be slacking off in her preparations. Y/N could either be playing that new Pokémon game she’s been drowning herself in lately and called him so she could give him an example of what competitive battling looks like along with its technicalities; or she could be reading through one her books of the occult and wanted to ask him if whatever is written on it held some sort of truth, being a century-something-old demon and all.
What greets him is none of what he expects of his roommate now-turned girlfriend, but he’s more so correct in assuming she is indeed gussying up for a night out with her parents. There was something missing, however; her hair, for one, looked polished in its clean hair-do, along with the light makeup that enhanced her features. But when he take in the sight of Y/N in her dress—
“You’re not wearing pastel.” It comes out more as a statement than a question as Sunghoon pushes the door closed behind him with a wave of a hand.
Y/N startles at his voice, gaze breaking away from her own reflection to give him a withering look the moment he snickers. “I was gonna, but mom’s secretary wanted me to wear this.” She sighs and turns to look at her reflection again.
Sunghoon hums in response, the corners of his lips twitching in amusement from watching a pout settle on his human’s lips as he walks towards her. “So what do you need me for? Fashion advice? Some ‘hyping up’ as you kids would call it?”
She grimaces, “don’t say that. It makes it sound like I’m dating an old man.”
The demon arches an eyebrow, “I technically am though? A century-something-old demon? Ring any bells, little human?”
“Yeah but…” Y/N makes a face, no doubt racking her brain for the right words. “You don’t look a day over 20… something, so it’s different.”
“Alright, enough technicalities about my age.” He sighs, “what can I help you with?”
“Zipper’s stuck,” she grumbles, turning her back to him to showcase the mini problem she’s facing at the moment. “Can you pull it up for me?”
Sunghoon blinks, eyes trailing over the sight of her skin beneath the opening of her dress in wonder as he gulps, mouth suddenly dry, “of course. Let me just…” The demon crowds closer behind her, a tentative hand resting on her hip as the other holds the dainty zipper and pulls it up without any thought other than to get the task over with before he explodes.
He still has the mind to be gentle amidst the mental turmoil, gently smoothing down the sides of her dress to rid of any wrinkles before his hands rest on the dips of her waist, “there we go.”
Y/N smiles, nodding in gratitude as she takes in her reflection. “So how do I look? ‘Cause I’ll be honest, this feels so weird.” Oh Sunghoon can definitely tell how weirded out she is just from her face alone.
Of course she would be, being someone who stood by anything pastel. Judging by the dramatics, wearing anything on the darker spectrum is not a frequent occurrence if Y/N is this unsure of herself. It’s definitely something new to get used to for both parties, though Sunghoon is quickly growing fond of the idea, if the smile pulling at his lips as he watches Y/N fumble with her dress wasn’t enough proof.
“You look beautiful.” He states with no hesitation and immediately, Y/N flusters at the out of nowhere, but very welcomed compliment, earning a chuckle from him while she makes a face, clicking her tongue. Nonetheless, she still leans against his chest, which then leads the demon to grace her with a teasing smile.
“It’s because I’m not wearing pastel, isn’t it?” She then arches an eyebrow when her question draws out a soft laugh from him, Sunghoon’s hands lifting from their previous spot for his arms to wrap around her waist.
“What are you talking about? I also like seeing you in pastel.” The demon muses, pressing his plush lips against her temple. “As you’ve said before, you do look submissive and breedable—I could eat you up.” Y/N promptly gasps and smacks his arm as Sunghoon’s laugh grows louder.
“Hoonie please, I’m about to have dinner with my parents!” She whines, “You can’t just say that and expect me to not think about it for the next few hours.” Y/N tries to get out of his grip, but his hold around her tightens. Then she remembers that this is a demon with superhuman strength she’s fighting against and so she stops her struggling with a huff as she lets herself be pulled back into his embrace.
By the look on Sunghoon’s face, he seems rather pleased at his advantage, gently squeezing her middle, " I’m sorry, angel. You’re just so fun to tease.”
His human huffs, “how’d you even know I said that?”
“Soobin showed me a screenshot of your tweet.”
“So I wasn’t safe from him either.” Y/N deadpans, recalling the incident of the giant sending her a screenshot of Sunghoon’s tweet. “I’m going to kill him.”
Sunghoon grins, “I’d rather you not do that. I quite like him if you ignore whatever leaves his mouth.” He sways both of them side-to-side as Y/N snorts. “You sure the parasite isn’t joining? He may be a nuisance but I don’t mind him celebrating with us.”
“Beomgyu has his own plans with his friends.” She chides, “but I appreciate you trying to get along with him at least.” Y/N giggles, turning around in his hold to face him.
The demon smiles at this, hands once again finding purchase on her waist, “as they say, ‘tis the season of giving and I might as well be generous with the limited supply of kindness I have in me.”
“You’re kind to me though.” She points out.
Sunghoon hums, “yes, but you’re different, little human.” He clarifies in a hushed tone. “For one, you have my heart in the palms of your hands and I’d rather burn in the fiery pits of Hell than be anything but.” Sunghoon presses his lips against her forehead. “Even if you’re a handful.”
Y/N preens at his words, “you’re awfully sweet tonight, demon of mine, but I can’t say that I don’t enjoy it and—oh! I gotta go.” and she pulls away from him.
He frowns at the loss of contact, “already?” The demon sighs, “what time will you be home?” He watches his human move about the bedroom to grab what she needed; her purse and her heels. Sunghoon takes notice of the black trench coat draped over her desk chair and promptly makes a grab for it.
“Around 10. It’s 7 now.” His human clarifies while checking her phone, “dinner is at 7:30—thank you.” She says and pushes both of her arms into the sleeves of her coat with the help of Sunghoon.
“So 10 then?”
“Yes. Earlier if I can help it, but I’ll make sure to be home by 10.” Y/N kisses his cheek and beams up at him.
“No later than 10.” Sunghoon returns the gesture with a fond smile of his own when she nods, “okay, I’ll walk you out.”
December 24, 2021 - 11:32 PM
It’s way past the time of Y/N’s supposed arrival and Sunghoon is increasingly growing worried by the second.
The dinner party at this hour is in full swing as each of the attendees makes themselves home and does whatever while waiting for Christmas to arrive once the clock strikes midnight.
As a host, Sunghoon is relieved that everyone seems to be having a pleasant time; save for Jungwon and Wonyoung having one of their arguments in the kitchen about Satan knows what (the demon assumes the former might have gotten on the witch’s nerves… again); then there’s Sunoo still rejecting every attempt Jake makes of talking to him and Soobin, the lightweight that he is, is trying his absolute hardest to keep upright by clinging onto Yeonjun who appears to be in a heated discussion with Heeseung and not really paying attention to his drunk boyfriend on the verge of succumbing to the effects of alcohol.
Though as a boyfriend, Sunghoon can’t help but to think of the worst when Y/N is behind schedule… by a lot. After all, she promised that she’ll be back no later than ten in the evening—earlier, if possible, considering she made it clear that she’d rather be here than to spend an uncomfortable evening with the people who had made her existence possible, yet the majority of it unbearable.
Throughout the time Sunghoon had spent with Y/N, there was no denying that being told the unlikely pair were complete opposites was a common occurrence that if money was given to him every time any of their contrasting aesthetics, personalities or their social approaches were brought up, the demon would have more than enough to last a few life times from how frequent it was. But if there's something both Sunghoon and Y/N have in common, it’s how both of them never go back on their word, so one can’t really fault the demon’s unsettled state when Y/N—purposely or not— did just that.
He takes another peek at the wall clock to remind him of the time, only to clench his jaw when he sees that it’s nearly thirty minutes to midnight. Sunghoon sighs heavily at his and immediately downs the very full glass of whatever concoction Jay made for him in one go, not at all minding the slight burn that itches his throat.
Even the copious amounts of alcohol did nothing to alleviate the growing worry inside of him; he never expected in the first place anyways—never expected it to give him the pleasant buzz it gave humans considering he and every demon alike are immune to its effects.
Sunghoon supposes it did do its job of being a momentary distraction as he overlooked the dinner party, but it obviously wasn’t enough as he makes his way towards where Jay is, no doubt still making drinks for being tonight’s self-appointed bartender.
Jay immediately notices Sunghoon’s sour expression, grinning slightly when the younger gestures for a refill, “why the long face, Hoon? It’s Christmas Eve, you should be having fun.” Jay teases as he sets to work on making yet again another nameless concoction.
Sunghoon rolls his eyes, “we don’t even celebrate Christmas.” He says drily and plucks the glass from Jay’s hold as soon as the drink is presented to him. “And my girlfriend’s not back yet when she specifically told me she’ll be home at 10. It’s nearing midnight now and where is she? Not home.” Much like what he did with his previous drink, he downs all of it in one go, sucking on his teeth briefly before he places the now empty glass on the breakfast nook with a grunt.
It doesn't help that he hasn't heard from her at all either which only furthers his nerves. He had called her a handful of times already, yet she never picked up, nor did she return the calls. His messages were left delivered. She hadn't read them at all.
The oldest of the demon’s eyebrows raises at this, “Satan, Y/N’s definitely got a grip on you now.” Sunghoon glares at him and Jay promptly raises both of his hands as an attempt to placate his growing annoyance. “I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing, jeez! So touchy when it comes to his girlfriend.” He grumbles.
“I’m just worried, okay?” Sunghoon swipes the half empty bottle of Jack Daniel’s Jay was about to reach for. “What if something happened to her?”
It’s Jay’s turn to glare as he conjures another bottle of Jack, a full one this time as he pours it into a new glass. “She’s with her parents right now, isn’t she? Maybe she’s having fun and lost track of time—why the fuck are you looking at me like that.”
By that, Jay means Sunghoon is looking at him as if he either grew another head or is probably thinking that he, Park Jongseong, is the stupidest person alive. Knowing him, it’s probably a combination of both when his right eye twitched. “Jay, Y/N hates her parents. Her parents are assholes, why the fuck would she willingly go to dinner with the people who made her life worse than what Hell’s got going on?”
“Hey! I wasn’t the one she dumped her trauma on!” Jay says defensively. Sunghoon gives him an unimpressed look. “I obviously did not know that, I’m not her boyfriend. What’s the big deal anyway? She’s a big girl. She probably got distracted on the way home…” The eldest of the demons trail off, sharp eyebrows knitting together in thought.
The younger scoffs, taking gulp of Jack, “for almost 2 hours? Unlikely.” He wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, “Look, Y/N might not have the same amount of street smarts we all have, but she’s not that stupid; and like I said, she promised she’d be home by 10. Y/N is never late and she wouldn’t break a promise either.” Sunghoon then continues on a tangent that falls deaf on Jay’s ears as he mulls over what the former had mentioned.
If it’s put like that, then yes, maybe this is something to bust a vein over, noting how adamant Sunghoon is about Y/N being on time and all the intricacies that made the younger act this way; and it doesn't take long for Jay himself to spiral either the longer he has to witness Sunghoon go off on a rant while a series of past conversations flash into his mind, the recent news and his own findings of what could possibly be the reason why Y/N still isn’t back.
“Hey Sunghoon…” Jay starts, both hands finding purchase on the counter to anchor himself for what is possibly going to be the worst time of his life, “when you say Y/N is never late to anything, what exactly did you mean by that?”
Much like the look the older received from earlier, Sunghoon regards him with a look that straight up looked like he just called him stupid, “exactly what I said. Y/N is never late and if she was, it’d be only for a few minutes and she'd let me know. She hasn't answered my calls. She hasn't read my texts either." He arches an eyebrow at the sight of Jay’s face blanching. “What’s up with you? Why do you look like an angel is about to smite your ass?”
Jay grimaces at ‘angel’, but quickly moves past that considering there are more dire things to actually lose his cool over, “you have to swear you wont kick my ass after this.”
Sunghoon narrows his eyes, “I’ll kick your ass regardless, but I can’t promise I won’t leave you black and blue. I have a power source for a girlfriend, in case you forgot.”
“Satan, that’s even worse,” Jay sucks in his teeth then lets out a heavy sigh. It’s now or never. “Look, just let me explain everything before you give me third degree burns, okay?”
The younger one rolls his eyes, “It can’t be that bad.”
Oh but it is, especially if you happen to be Y/N’s boyfriend, but Jay will take his chances and hope the need to save her overwhelms Sunghoon’s need of throwing him inside a church and let him burn in there as petty revenge.
Jay pretty much explains everything; from the time Lucifer had told him of the rogue demon’s presence popping on Hell’s radar, the Four of Crows shtick where it involved him and three of Y/N’s friends breaking into a funeral home to investigate, the discussion of the demon possibly going after her once Heeseung told him the said demon is also an ex of Y/N's and taking the whole sacrificing thing into account.
“I’m not sure if you’ve been updated on the news, but the 12th victim has been identified recently and well… we had a feeling that Y/N might be the 13th.”
And it makes perfect sense too. Y/N is out there alone with none of them to keep an eye on her. It makes perfect sense that the demon could have possibly chosen this night of all nights to strike, when Y/N is at her most vulnerable with no one to ask for help. Jay can only hope that he’s wrong with the assumptions because he can imagine how cruel it would be if she was taken from Sunghoon just like that.
Jay supposes he was right on that train of thought, because the younger demon does not look too pleased at the revelation. In fact, he looks absolutely furious in being the last to know. But really, Jay had already expected this. He can blame Heeseung if Sunghoon does leave him in a black and blue heap.
“And you choose to tell me now? Right when my human could be in danger?” He hisses, Jay yelping when Sunghoon pulls him by the collar of his shirt.
“I just assumed! I never said it was a possibility!”
“What, and that’s supposed to help?!” Sunghoon smashes the bottle of Jack onto the ground. Jay is quick to make the mess vanish with a simple wave of his hand. “Tell me why I shouldn’t throw you into a horde of angels and let them crucify you right now.” He snarls, pulling Jay closer.
“Woah woah, Sunghoon, you’re not crucifying anyone here! And certainly not your brother!” Comes Jake’s voice as the youngest demon gets abruptly thrown back, the wind knocked out of him as he ends up landing on his back, hard.
A groan leaves him, eyes shut tightly from the pain that bloomed on his upper back as well as on the back of his head, though they quickly fly open in panic at the feeling of his body involuntarily going rigid, unable to move; and that’s when he sees Wonyoung standing over him, a hand encased in a lavender aura outstretched over his form. He’s quick to realize the same lavender veil is around him too.
“Stand down, Sunghoon.” The witch orders, giving him a look of warning “I’ll give you 10 seconds to relax before I release this petrifying spell.” The demon scowls. It’s easier said than done, but he does as he’s told anyway, once again closing his eyes to calm himself by breathing.
Sunghoon is back on his feet soon after and Wonyoung dutifully stays in close proximity in case he goes berserk yet again. He scoffs, “I don’t have time for this,” and turns on his heel to head for the door.
Jay, who has now recovered from the initial shock from his actions, calls out his name. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“To get Y/N, where else?” He grunts, shoving past Jake as he heads straight to the front door.
Jake doesn’t let up, equally stubborn, and grabs the back of the younger demon’s jacket to haul him back. “You don’t even know where she is! You know the trace is gone by now!” The blond argues, pulling Sunghoon back harder. “I get that you’re worried and I am too, but you lashing out like this isn’t going to help anyone!”
You’re letting your emotions get the best of you, Sunghoon. Satan, of all times he really has to hear Lucifer’s own words go on about his head. You're not thinking clearly and that’s why it’s a weakness. Calm yourself and try again. The memory is hazy to him now—hazy to picture himself in it; it’s been quite a while since he was subjected to the rigorous training all demons who carry the responsibility of striking deal with humans after all—The Dealers, as Satan would affectionately dub them—but Lucifer’s voice is loud and clear and it’s enough for Sunghoon to halt his steps.
“Standing around isn’t going to help anyone either, especially Y/N.” He huffs, folding his arms while turning around to face everybody. “Now do any of you have a plan?”
“Well first we obviously have to find out where Y/N is,” Heeseung speaks up, coming to stand before him just a few feet away from where the youngest of the demons stands, running his fingers through his fiery hair. “Though I have to apologize for not bringing this issue up sooner. I thought we’d have more time to come up with a plan to catch the demon.”
“Yeah,” It’s the goblin’s turn to speak up this time, Riki’s tall figure looming behind Heeseung’s with a sheepish smile. “None of us thought the demon would strike tonight.”
There’s a huff from Sunghoon’s right, jumping slightly when he turns to find Jungwon standing beside him unbothered that he surprised him, “kind of a weird coincidence that it chose the night where Y/N won’t have any of us looking after her.”
“Yes yes, we’re well aware of that, but can we cut to the chase? Heeseung, you know a tracking spell, right?” Wonyoung asks, giving him a pointed look to which the head witch waves off.
“Of course I do. Sunghoon,” He turns to the demon. “I’m gonna need that talisman you made for Y/N.”
Riki nods solemnly, throwing an arm around Jake, “the talisman of nightmares.”
The duo quits their snickering once they receive a piercing glare from the talisman’s maker himself. “It’s in the hallway.”
Everyone (besides the non-witches) watches Heeseung, Karina and Wonyoung stand in a circle grasping each other’s hands with fascination. The cursed looking talisman stands in the space in the middle as the three witches all chant an unknown language and this goes on for a minute or two before Sunghoon and the rest feels something shift in the air.
Heeseung is the first to open his eyes, “I’ve found Y/N. She’s in some kind of warehouse.”
“Right,” Wonyoung lets go of her fellow witch's hands. “I’ve managed to narrow it down to one and I think we should all leave now because it looks like she’s tied down.”
Riki’s eyes widened at that, scrambling off of his seat, “What?"
“Yes, there are a bunch of candles around her too.” Karina confirms, “there was someone with her too but we weren’t able to see just who exactly it was.”
“Oh wow, you guys really did throw a party.” All of them freeze at the sound of an extra voice coming from the hallway, “so who’s who?” And there’s Beomgyu, appearing as if he just woken up from a week long hibernation as he smiles politely at everyone.
Now Sunghoon is completely bewildered by this because he clearly remembers Y/N telling him that their temporary housemate also had Christmas plans. “Beomgyu what—” however, he doesn’t get to ask him what the hell he was still doing here because Wonyoung gets to the now screaming parasite first, using a spell to lift him up. “Wonyoung!”
“Of course a man would be behind all of this.” The youngest of the witches seethes, lifting Beomgyu up higher who only appears confused at what she said. “What did you do to Y/N?”
“What the fuck are you talking about?! Nothing!” Beomgyu continues to struggle against the invisible force lifting him up. “Would you please let me down?!”
Wonyoung’s appropriate response to his request is to lift him higher. The disbelief on Beomgyu’s face was almost enough to have Sunghoon cracking up in laughter if it weren’t for the gravity of the situation, “so you aren’t the demon after Y/N?” She asks him. The parasite makes a face, “or helping the demon?”
“Girl, what are you talking about? I’m a Kitsune, look—” with a poof, a pair of pale blond fox ears pop into view on top of Beomgyu’s head along with the three tails of the same color swishing behind him. “See? Not a demon, nor am I affiliated with a demon after Y/N. Now will you let me down?”
“Oh.” Wonyoung’s face blanks, “my bad.”
Sunghoon winces when the kitsune lands in a heap with an alarmed shout. “I thought you had plans with your friends?” He asks at the same time Sunoo mutters about almost everyone ‘being a supernatural’ these days. “Y/N told me.”
Beomgyu gets back on his feet with a groan, glaring briefly at the witch, “I had plans, yeah. But I overslept.” He grumbles, “Is everyone here a supernatural? ‘Cause you all seem pretty chill about me being one.”
“I’m a demon,” Sunghoon simply answers (the rest who are supernaturals following after in quick succession) as he turns to where Heeseung and Karina stand together, wearing matching scowls directed at the fox spirit. “I’m gonna be honest, I was about to accuse the parasite of being in cahoots with whoever demon that is, but why did you two warn me about the idiot?”
Karina shrugs, inspecting her nails, “kitsunes are known tricksters, might as well let you know what you’re dealing with… or did you not sense that at all?” She raises an eyebrow and then snorts when she doesn’t get an answer, “from all the complaining you did on twitter, I thought you’ve figured it out.”
The demon avoids Karina’s gaze, “perhaps… I was preoccupied by something else to pay attention if Beomgyu was a mythical creature or not.”
She giggles, “of course you were.”
The kitsune raises both of his hands, “hey man, I’m only here because I really have no place to stay at the moment. I swear I don’t plan on killing Y/N.” Beomgyu side-eyes the youngest witch, “besides she’d kill me first.”
Wonyoung grunts, “good, or you and I will have a problem.”
“Yeah! Very interesting turn of events, really, but can we go now?” Everybody all turns their attention to Jungwon already making his way towards the front door, peering questioningly over his shoulder once he pauses in his steps. “For all we know Y/N might as well be on the verge of death as we speak.”
“Happy holidays, I guess.” Yeonjun mutters, taking a generous gulp from his beer. “Humans will be staying since my boyfriend is out-cold on the couch.”
“Wait, hang on, if the fox spirit isn’t behind all this… then who is?” Riki asks.
“Oh, I think I have an idea on who it might be.” Sunghoon gives them a humorless smile, feeling a vein pulse on his temple.
“You know, I thought something was up when I brought up your relocation to my parents.” Y/N hisses as she struggles against the ropes. “Because I know for a fact my ex-girlfriend would have at least let me know if she wanted to end things and not ghost me.” She doesn't miss the way Minjeong’s figure tensed in the midst of her lighting the assortment of dark-colored candles surrounding the both of them.
She tried to yank both of her hands free from the bindings again, but to no avail, Minjeong really did a good job with tying her down. Y/N huffs, “I was a little confused when mother-dearest told me she never sent you abroad, that you just upped and left without a trace and came to her asking for your job back as if nothing happened. Right after her old secretary mysteriously died.”
“Never knew you cared that much about me, if I’m being honest.” Minjeong mutters as she turns around to face her captive with a smirk. “Though I’m not really sure if I should be surprised that you’re still gullible even after all this time. You’ve always tried seeing the good in people.”
Satan help me, is she about to go on a villain monologue? Y/N gives her a withering look.
Perhaps if she had chosen to stay longer with her parents through that mind-numbing conversation about future business plans, she would have avoided all of this; avoid being taken to a warehouse, avoid being tied down on top of a drawn-in-red pentagram and possibly avoid death altogether as Y/N watches Minjeong brandish an absurdly huge knife from butt-fuck out-of-nowhere.
Y/N's eyes widen lightly when the steel blade glints under the dim lighting, “lord, I’m actually living a Jennifer’s Body scene, coolcoolcool…” She mutters to herself, not minding the demon’s (yes, Y/N figured she was a demon the moment her mother’s secretary lifted her up as if she weighs nothing) complete look of bewilderment. “Why are you even doing this?”
“Well…” Minjeong starts, heels of her boots clicking against the cemented floor as she takes slow and measured steps around the pentagram—around Y/N with mild interest in the knife. “Little girls have big dreams, Y/N.” She says with the false pretense of innocence, lips pulling into a mocking pout. “Mine just happens to be bigger than most.”
Maybe she can draw this out longer until one of her friends—or preferably her boyfriend Sunghoon—realizes that maybe her being gone for so long is a cry for help. “And that involves sacrificing me?”
“Oh good. At least your deduction skills seem to be working. Could you tell with the blood-red pentagram?” Y/N glares when Minjeong bursts into a fit of giggles, still walking in circles around her. “I’ve got to say, if I hadn’t seen The Mark on your wrist, none of this would have happened, so thank you, Y/N. If it weren’t for you, my dreams wouldn’t have been a reality.”
In usual situations that involved someone expressing their gratitude, Y/N would have returned the enthusiasm back; all smiles as she tells them ‘you’re welcome’ and a warm feeling settling in her chest from the fact that she was able to help someone in need.
She’s not as keen right now though, even if Minjeong looked quite breathtaking with a smile on her face, but she was anything but in Y/N’s eyes because right before is a demon with purpose and the smile she had grown to love in the past was only a gateway to her death once the pad of Minjeong’s fingers trace the blunt side of the knife.
“Tell me, Y/N, have you ever dreamt of taking over a kingdom?”
“Not really. I mean, you were always the ambitious one between the two of us.”
Minjeong sniffs, visibly displeased at the human’s answer, “pity. I would have spared your life if you agreed on taking over Hell with me. It’s about time it had a female ruler after Lilith.”
Y/N can’t help but scoff. Yep, ever the ambitious one. “No offense but ‘taking over Hell’? Isn’t Satan more powerful than you are? You’re probably a lower ranking demon if you went out of your way to kill a dozen of Marked Ones for power.” She chuckles, looking up at the metal beams above them in wonder and completely missing the fury that slowly twisted the demon’s face. Can Hoonie hurry up? I wanna go home.
Though, the demon quickly catches herself from slipping, masking her growing ire with the smile that easily finds its way back onto her face, slowing down her steps. “I’m the ambitious one, remember? I’d do anything to get what I want.” Minjeong’s laugh is soft, stopping to stand right in front of where Y/N’s feet lay bound.
“Do me a favor, won’t you, my darling Y/N?”
Y/N decides to humor her in spite of how unnerved she is at the demon’s sudden sweet-talk, a wry grin curling her lips, “what?”
But the amusement is quickly wiped away as Y/N's face blanches when the demon’s eyes glow an eerie blood-red, matched with a grin showcasing two rows of sharp teeth.
“Scream for me.” And Minjeong raises the knife.
a/n: everybody apologize to Beomgyu right now he really was just here to cause chaos and distract you guys LMFAO tho props to that one anon who guessed it was Minjeong (Winter) even though I had to essentially lie when I told them it wasn't 🤪 gotta lie to save my ass sometimes 🤣 see you friday <3

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: Sunghoon wasn’t expecting to be sent to the mortal world by his “father”, much less being forced into attending college (he’s a demon! why would he need to?!) and being accidentally summoned by a clueless human almost had him marching straight into Hell to have a word with its ruler. Only he couldn’t, because he was already bound to you by a fucking paper-cut sealing your contract which means he can’t just leave the mortal world without taking something of yours in return.

[below the cut]
what are we doing here at the mall?” sunghoon stares ahead, seeing multiple clothing stores. he sees groups of girls going in and out of them while holding multiple shoppings bags. he sighs, already depicting himself holding bags for you as you go shopping.
“prom shopping, duh.” you proudly stated. your eyes brighten while eyeing each attractive store.
“what’s the point of going to prom when you don’t have a date?” immediately your mood shut down as sunghoon slammed fact at your face while maintaining his blank stare. he was right, you don’t have a date, like an actual date. your last minute plan was to go with your childhood neighborhood best friend, platonically because disappointingly all of the hot guys in your school got dates.
“you’re literally my date sunghoon.” you rolled your eyes and looked at sunghoon who seemed to have reddish cheeks. he looked away before you can turn to him, blocking his red cheeks from being seen.
you snickered, knowing that he is embarrassed since sunghoon doesn’t have a date either from his school. well, he rejected all of them. but that confused you more, he rejected all of the girls that asked him out but he didn’t mind going to your prom as your date. you don’t care now because you have a purpose to go prom-dressing.
“ooh windsor seems cute~” you skipped towards the store that caught your eye first. “woah..” your eyes sparkled at the glitterly lavender dress that has a slit on the right side of the leg and have gems around the chest area. this was your dream ever since you were little, going prom dressing and imagining yourself wearing your favorite dresses with your prince charming.
but it had to be with sunghoon — nothing wrong with sunghoon but he was someone you didn’t expect for him to say yes.
i mean, both of you pinky promised ever since babies that you two would marry each other if both of you stayed single. you wondered if he remembers the same thing.
sunghoon stayed at the corner of the store, eyeing your excited self while scanning the various dresses in front of you as he held your bag after volunteering. he wonders what type of dresses you prefer.
he imagines you in some of the dresses he eyes wander on.
you insisted to keep your bag onto you but he persisted until you give up. his excuse was to “roam freely” — you dead looked at him in the eye replying that it’s bullshit.
you didn’t want to argue with him any further first thing you entered the mall so you let him deal with whatever.
sunghoon doesn’t know what made him possessed to say yes to you when he received your text. he didn't even pay for prom, he was uninterested, but the thought of going with you - as his date, didn't seem too bad.
he remembered himself blushing crazy when he abruptly received your text message when he was hanging out with his friends. sunghoon took a pause in the middle of the sidewalk, staring at his screen with wide eyes. he slowly turned around and started running towards home, abandoning his startled, questioned friends. they heard silence except his shoes hitting the concrete floor.
two hours later, he replied with “sure” to remain nonclatant but little did you know his face was a blushing mess, feet in cold sweat to the fact he had to wear socks in bed, and his heart rapidly beating to the point he had high blood pressure. his mind was occupied onto you as he stared at your bedroom from across his window, wondering what you’re up to.
his parents were so confused as to why their son was acting this way. he was on cloud 9 when you asked him out but felt a bit sad when you mentioned to go together with plantonic feelings.
you walked towards sunghoon with shrugged shoulders and a frown that made sunghoon be concered of your expression. “what happened?” sunghoon looked down at you, uttering a deep tone to indicate his concern. he was still seeing your pouty lips and your eyes being tight. “none of them are what i am looking for.”
maybe you’re acting like a spoiled child who cannot find their favorite toy but you believed that prom was the most important event in your life. you wanted to find your perfect dress.
then you opened your eyes, being face to face to sunghoon’s chest which made you feel uneasy at the unfamiliar appearance.
you then realized how close you are with sunghoon so you took a step back.
you sighed, looking up at sunghoon. “it’s fine we have multiple stores.” your motivated smile made sunghoon chuckle.
you left the store, then sunghoon behind you.
“that green looks like a swamp.” “that’s too glittery.” “too long.” “i look like a child of divorce with this dress!”
“i guess you’re picky.” sunghoon teased, ruffling your hair as he followed you exiting the last store. you still had an unsatisfied expression.
you didn’t react to his gesture since it was normal between the two of you. you didn’t mind sunghoon messing up your hair.
sunghoon felt bad and fixed your hair carefully, eyeing each strand of hair being back in the right place originally.
you looked from left to right onto where to explore, slightly giving up but not fully. you wanted to go home already and swallow yourself in your favorite blanket, blasting the AC on high volume while watching ever after high.
countless attempts of finding the right dress for you was too difficult. you’re starting to understand why people buy their dresses months before, you believe that the good batch of dresses were already brought before and you started to panic if you can even find one.
“there’s nothing wrong with being picky..” you murmured, walking around in hopes another store caught your eye. “of course,” sunghoon responded. he continued. “you should keep your standards high, never settle for less.” you lightly scoffed, turning your head towards sunghoon with a mischevious expression. “is that why you’re still single?”
you’ve always been curious of sunghoon’s standards are since he remains single throughout your high school years. middle school doesn’t count. his last relationship was a fail because he lost feelings for the girl.
yes, you admit he is shamelessly handsome and he knows that but have a personality of a delicate cat. which makes you laugh once in a while.
you still think of sunghoon as a child in an adult body.
sunghoon seems to be taken aback of your question. he tilted his head, thinking about it. “well…i never thought about it like that. i was gonna be more busier with each year, i’m not gonna have time for relationships.” sunghoon confessed nonchantly since it wasn’t a big deal for him. you nodded, understanding where he was coming from.
“then..have you liked anyone before?” you questioned, also curious as you eyed the store’s figuerines on display. “that’s cute..” you whispered to yourself before looking back at sunghoon with a smile, waiting expectantly.
sunghoon’s heart jumped. he shivered when he felt the cold air passing behind him, glancing at you to see if you’ve noticed but he was so grateful that you were distracted by some damn figuerines.
he immediately looked ahead when you looked back at him, geez why can’t i answer?
“n-no.” he choked on his words. you decided to poke his holes further when you noticed how nervous he was. you can read your best friend pretty easily. “really?” you stopped walking which made him also stop. sunghoon turned to his right and he held his breath when you leaned closer to his face, eyeing him like a hawk to justify his truth. “do you like someone now?”
“yes.” he muttered, still staring at your eyes. seconds of staring at each other made your heart suddenly fluttered which was weird and out of the norm. you held in your breath when none of you pulled away yet, continuing to gaze upon each other.
you realized the position you were in, especially when sunghoon easily towered over you. you immediately back away, sunghoon now smirking at your sudden nervousness. “wonder who’s the unfortunate girl..” you gulped on your words.
“why are you single?” sunghoon asked, hands in his pockets as he started walking. you coughed, hands rubbing your tight chest. “e-erm,” you tried to find an excuse. “just like you.. i have other priorities.” you didn’t see the little frown sunghoon made at your response. you weren’t lying but at the same time you were telling the truth. dating felt like it could affect your daily routine and studies.
okay, maybe your best friend seem a bit too handsome for your liking. it’s weird. wait
“how about this store?” sunghoon pointed at a store that was near the exit. you sneaked a glance, interested by the pretty dresses on display. you decided to go. “sure let’s go.” trying to distract yourself on what happened earlier.
now sunghoon was reflecting on himself and what happened earlier as well as he sat down, waiting for you to try on the dresses. he was frustrated, he wanted you. it has always been you, ever since both of you pinky promised as babies.
that relationship he had in middle school - yeah he thought the girl was pretty but it was only to perform a distraction to get rid of his feeling for you.
your extroverted personality intimidated him ever since growing up. he wonders what makes you fearless and mentally strong. in moments where you fell down countless from playing tag with him, you didn’t cry. oddly - you continued to play with tag despite having a bleeding knee.
but when you would see his displeased face, you would offer him a lollipop that you keep inside your book bag just for fun.
he still has the candy wrapper somewhere inside his drawers.
but you don’t know that. he wanted to know if you were feeling the same way. is it worth ruining the friendship? is there any hope to turn it into something intimate? something more? he’s craving a lot of answers.
as you were adjusting the dress, your hands slowed down on your straps when you also questioned the same thing. then memories of you and sunghoon started replaying on your mind; where both of you were in his bed one summer night after having a bbq dinner from your parents, talking about your futures together — where the both of you have to be involved in each others’ futures; where sunghoon gives you his hoodie without any question whenever you’re cold, where you packed an extra lunchbox for sunghoon because he was craving your pork cutlets. the past, happy memories slowly transitioned to the memories where you’re now questioning your feelings on sunghoon.
where sunghoon wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him when the train was crowded with people. you felt his chin touch the top of your head. you remembered your heartbeat being in the same speed as the train was going and you were glad sunghoon couldn’t see your blush — where sunghoon offered you to sleep on his shoulder on the way home after hanging out together — where both of your hands would featherly touch each other in random times but immediately both of you let go and feel electric shocks all over the body.
so you’re gonna put your feelings on the test.
“hoon!” you called out on his nickname. sunghoon immediately paid attention to you. “yeah y/n? what happened?” you scrunched your nose when you hear the concern on his tone.
you huffed out a breath. “can you help me with the zipper please?” you questioned why your heart is already beating fast. you hear the footsteps coming closer to you and you swore your heart was gonna jump out of the ribcage.
behind you, you slightly opened the curtain, to prevent not only revealing the dress to him but as well as not wanting to face sunghoon. you can feel his eyes glued onto your back.
sunghoon rolled his tongue inside his cheek, feeling unusual even though he’s childhood friends with you. he noticed your hands trying to zip up your dress.
he took a step closer to you, you shivered when you can feel his chest against your back and your breath lingering on your bare neck. you gulped at the intense silence engulfed by the both of you.
“silly you.” he let out a slight chuckle. you can feel his slight smirk from behind you.
“just help me park.” you rolled your eyes at his teasing, hoping it’s something to ease the tension.
“stop moving.” sunghoon hand was lightly placed on your waist which made you frozen. your eyes widened at the sudden touch. his eyes were focused on the zipper, his hands being gently so that he doesn’t hurt you.
breathe y/n — breathe—
shit.
you looked up from the ground to curiously see the scene with the mirror in front of you. the first thing was his figure, how his white shirt easily makes his body look good with his headphones around his neck. you can see his fluffy hair that you’re eager to touch. you see sunghoon’s tongue on the corner of his lips to indicate his concentration. your eyes slowly followed his hand, you eyed his watch — his hand on your waist.
you suddenly wanna pass away.
sunghoon sighed, “there.” you then immediately looked down to prevent any eye contact. goddamit y/n why are you so shy?
“thanks.” you grabbed the curtain and shut the room in front of him, whining mentally at your shy self. you stared at yourself in front of the mirror, surprised at how red your cheeks are under the light.
sunghoon stood in front the curtain, surprised with his eyebrows furrowed but then his face relaxed into a soft smile before returning back to seat and waiting for you to reveal the dress to him.
him only.
“so—“ he heard you through his headphones after some few minutes. you opened the curtain. “how do i do?” as sunghoon was pausing his music and taking his headphones off. you presented yourself wearing the dark red, sparkly dress, standing still and with a smile as you waited for sunghoon’s reponse. you smiled so hard, not containing your excitement that you felt while wearing the dress. it really made you feel like a princess.
sunghoon stared at you for a couple of seconds then slowly looked down at your figure. how the dress was hugging your body, your curves were being emphasized, how it complimented your skin tone, god you were stunning. you literally looked like a goddess in front of him and he was willing to drop everything and pull you close just like earlier. sunghoon was utterly at a loss of words. his mouth wanted to spill out words but he was frozen.
what did you did do to him?
you caught him being speechless so you worried, forming a form. “i-is it not good?” you turned around to face the mirror in worry.
but before you do it you heard him yell. “wait!” you paused. “it’s good. you look great.” your muscles relaxed after hearing sunghoon’s reassurance. you smiled, turning back around to face sunghoon. sunghoon was too shy to face you, looking away as he was gulping.
“really great..” he coughed into his fist, clearing his throat.
well that was good enough for you.
“great!” you closed back the curtain to change back into your normal clothes.
sunghoon cursed at himself mentally, hand coming to his head to massage his temples as he closed his eyes to gather his thoughts. he felt like this was torture.
as you’ve already bought the dress, both of you were hungry so you guys went to the food court.
“go find a table, i’ll get us something.” you frown at sunghoon’s suggestion. “no don’t pay for me. you’ve already gone through so much, it’s right if i pay for your meal.” you find your wallet through your bag that sunghoon is still holding for you. sunghoon shook his head, shutting down the zipper making you speechless. “no need it’s fine for me.” you insisted. “sunghoon-“ you whined.
sunghoon gave you a look that made you instantly sit down. “fine.” you rolled your eyes. sunghoon smiled as you followed his words, dropping the bags on the chair next to you. what a switch up.
you eyed sunghoon’s back disappearing slowly from your vision. you smiled when he headed to your favorite fast food place.
you were on your phone while waiting for sunghoon to come back.
“y/n?” you looked up after hearing your name being called. both of you smiled — it was your classmate, taesan. you got out from your seat to hug him as taesan hugged you back tightly. “what are you doing here?” you asked him, going back to your seat.
“i went to the park with the guys.” indicating the basketball on the chair across from you and he turned his back, which made you see the bunch of his friends ordering from a different store. “i saw you sitting by yourself, are you also with your friends?” taesan smiled at you, also wondering why you’re here.
“mhmm,” you nodded. “prom shopping.” taesan cursed. “shit i realized i have to do the same..” you giggled at his comment as taesan panicked a bit since it’s in a week. “good luck with that.” you saluted to him. “mhm thanks.” taesan smiled at your gesture.
“okay i gotta go and find a table for these hungry monsters. i’ll see you again.” taesan ruffled your hair, before leaving your table. “hey you’re gonna mess up my hair!” you playfully said, fixing your strands. “ugh my hair..” you commented to yourself.
a few seconds later, you’re startled when a plastic bag of food was placed in front of, rather harshly.
you turned your head towards sunghoon when he pulled a chair next you and sat next to you with a serious expression. “who was that guy?” you’re confused at sunghoon’s question.
“what guy?” your nervousness made you forget your memory. “why are you smiling to him like that?”
did he watch the whole scene?
sunghoon kept staring at you, still maintaining a cold look that made you shiver. yeah, that’s the look that he is pissed at you.
you realized something. “park, are you jealous?” you eyed him which made sunghoon realize what he was doing and broke eye contact, letting out a puff of air.
but you are not letting it go until you got your answer. you leaned closer to him, tilting your head so he can look at you again but he’s resisting because he didn’t want to show that side to you. “mhmm are you jealous?” you asked annoingly, making sunghoon blush. you kept teasing him. he was covering his face with his hands but you wanted to see this scene unfold on you. “am not.” he muttered, making you laugh at how grumpy his voice was. “cmon, why are you jealous? hm?” you’re entertained.
he is envious that there are other guys who can make you smile and laugh.
you smiled as your hands were touching each of his wrists, pulling his hands away from his face. sunghoon was pretty strong which made you struggle.
“don’t test me.” sunghoon shot a glare after you removed his hands from his face. you gulped at the sight in front of you. “okay i won’t, i’m sorry.”you’re still smiling.
he crossed his arms, pouting. this wasn’t the sunghoon that you grew up with and you wondered how much he has grown up — and that you two aren’t kids anymore.
“don’t worry about taesan, he has a girl.” you laid back to your seat, unpacking your chiptole bowl that sunghoon bought. sunghoon stayed silent, eyeing you unpacking the bowl with excitement that made sunghoon instantly forgive you but now he’s too embarrassed to speak to you.
“uhm..” both of your heads turned to see a guy on your right side. the guy saw sunghoon’s grumpy face which made him gulp and nervous on what he was gonna say as you looked at him with a smile as an act of kindness. “i-i thought you’re pretty and i would like to ask if i can have your number?” the guy looked at you with sweaty glands all over his forehead, not daring to look at sunghoon or he will run away. you widened your eyes at the sudden confession.
“oh uhm-“
your bones became frozen when you felt one of sunghoon’s arms sneak around your neck, his fingers lightly touching your waist while his other arm was leaning on the table, eyeing the guy with apissed expression. he became close, too close when you felt his cheek be pressed onto yours.
he eyed the guy annoyingly, jaw clenched and eyes piercing through his body as you were a blushing mess and your heart fluttering too much. “she has a boyfriend.” sunghoon muttered, causing you to gasp lightly at his words. the way he said, felt like he really meant it.
you saw the guy panicked and apologized, running away from both of your visions.
“cmon park, you scared the dude.” you turned to him as he removed his arm from your shoulder, leaning back to his seat. you were feeling bad for the guy but sunghoon didn’t feel bad.
“you didn’t decline.” sunghoon shrugged, making you wanna slap his shoulder at his egotistical self.
now that you’ve realized, you didn’t.
“i-i..” you’re at a loss of words. you swear you’re gonna die in front of sunghoon if you get a heart attack. “right..” you muttered something that was not supposed to be aloud. but you didn’t notice, trying to calm yourself down.
sunghoon leaned closer to you, eyes staring at you as you saw him smiling, causing his fangs to be present. “i wouldn’t mind.”
you realized where this was going and he indirectly confessed to you. sunghoon tilted his head to the side, entertained to see your blushing state. “i wouldn’t mind either.” his face dropped when you repeated the same thing to him without looking at him, coughing your nervousness out.
both of your faces relaxed, smiling at each other, relieved that the both of you felt the same way towards each other.
“so we’re gonna marry each other now?” sunghoon spoke, maintaining a slight smirk. he loves seeing you flustered like crazy.
you’re surprised. “you’ve remembered?” sunghoon nodded proudly, playing the ends of your hair which made your heart beat even more crazy as if it’s not at its limit right now.
“of course i remember, it’s you.”

★ LEE HEESEUNG (0.5k words)
the day was coming to an end and heeseung has yet to find you.
after he had politely rejected karina, he ran after you but to no avail. all of his attempts on trying to reach you was a bootless errand. everytime he had seen a glimpse of you - whether in the cafeteria, library, the hallways, and god even in your shared class - you somehow always found a way to avoid him.
he could've simply gave up and moved on, he could've ran back to karina and date her instead. but he didn't want to give up and move on, he didn't want to run back to karina and date her, because what he wanted- needed, was you.
heeseung didn't want to go home yet, he needed to see you and explain everything. he'd be a fool to let you out his reach especially now that he knows you feel the same for him. he wasn't going to lose you because of a stupid mistake he made.
spotting a familiar figure sitting underneath a tree in the university's garden, he silently walked towards them, his fingers crossed hoping that he's finally found you.
and as if the universe was on his side, he saw you gorgeously flipping through a book with your pink earphones on. heeseung silently sat beside you, hoping you won't run away from him again. he saw how you stiffened and how your fingers stopped playing with the book's pages, and he wanted nothing but to hold your hand. it was your hand he wanted to hold- no one else's. you may not be with him yet, but ever since he realized he liked you, he was already yours before you even knew.
"y/n," he started softly, gently removing one earbud from your ear so you could hear him. you let him and look at him with hesitance, scared that he's here to tell you that he's changed his mind and he likes karina now instead.
heeseung smiled softly at you, "please let me talk and explain everything, okay?" you nodded, feeling your throat clogging up. "karina, you know she's one of my good friends, right? when you saw me holding her hand a while ago, she was the one who took my hand. i was so taken aback by her confession that i completely froze-..
because she's like a sister to me and you're the one i want. you're the one i need.. the one i like." he paused, brows furrowed in worry, hoping you'd understand. "i'm sorry for letting her hold my hand, and i'm sorry for hurting you. i really really like you y/n, please let me redeem myself to you." he finished, a small hesitant smile in his face as he studied yours.
feeling overwhelmed, you burst into tears. heeseung panicked, thinking he said something wrong and brought you to his chest, wrapping his arms around you.
"i thought you'd choose her over me." you cried in his chest, your own arms wrapping around his waist. heeseung didn't know why, but even when you were crying in his chest with your arms wrapped around his waist, he was feeling over the moon.
shaking his head, he pulled you closer if it was even possible and mumbled in your hair, "i'll choose you in a room full of other girls baby. only you."

★ PARK JONGSEONG (0.5k words)
3 hours was enough space right? jay liked to think it was, he was too impatient and just wanted to run to you and explain everything, but he knew you probably didn't want to see him after what you've witnessed.
jay had tried to put himself in your shoe, imagining seeing you holding hands with another boy after confessing to you- by the thought of it alone already made him feel ten times more worse, he hated himself with how much pain he had caused you.
so instead of waiting until tomorrow, jay took his bag and walked out of the cafeteria, ignoring his friends that were calling for him. he already knew where to find you, after all, he's always had his eyes on you ever since the first semester started.
jay muttered a quiet 'good afternoon' to the librarian before making a beeline towards the back of the library and there you were in your element. laptop open, headphones on with multiple books on the table you've occupied.
he liked to think that his type were girls that were a bit dumb so that he could lead the relationship, but when it comes to you? smart, pretty, and soft spoken? if his heart could speak, he's certain that the only word it can mutter is your name, and he's not ashamed to admit that.
the moment you looked up and made eye contact with him almost made his knees give up if it weren't for him holding on to a shelf to stabilize himself, and when you softly smiled at him despite what you saw that morning, it made him yearn for you more. he wouldn't ask for no one else.
call him cliché but you were the only one for him.
"what are you doing there? come sit." you motioned on the empty seat across from you to which he occupied immediately. "have you eaten?"
"have you?" he questioned back, eyeing the papers and books splattered on the table. "i had coffee." was your reply.
jay knew that you were still upset, it was showing in your body language. you were tense, stiff, and your fingers were shaking behind your laptop. he wanted to punch himself for making you feel this way.
"i'm sorry y/n, i really am." the hum you let out made him continue, his eyes studying your pretty face silently. "it's really not what it looked like-"
"everyone says that jay." the way you bit your lip told him that you didn't mean to cut his sentence off and be so harsh.
"yes, i know, it's stupid but i'm telling the truth. she bumped into me and fell, i couldn't just leave her on the floor because everyone saw our collision so i offered her a hand. that was it, i was about to walk away but she introduced herself and insisted on shaking hands.. then you saw me.
i know it looked so wrong from your perspective without context, and i'm sorry for upsetting you. i really had no other intentions, i was telling you the truth when i told you that night that i like you too, so much." he reached out for your hand, sighing in relief when you didn't pull away.
you nodded your head in understanding, squeezing his hand to tell him you now understand. "i'm sorry for jumping into conclusions and not hearing you out the first time."
he shook his head, squeezing your hand back. "it's okay, i understand. we're good now?" chuckling at him, you nodded and smiled at him. "we are, thank you."
★ SIM JAEYUN (0.4k words)
the tears in your eyes as you walked away from him made his heart crack. should he run after you? will you find him annoying? do you want him to run after you or do you want nothing to do with him now?
after arguing with himself on his head, he ran after you and engulfed you in a hug before you could turn around the corner and disappear from his sight. "please let me explain." his own voice cracked, and the weird looks you both received from the other students did not faze him at all.
"jake, not here please. they're looking at us.." he hastily took your hand and led you into an empty classroom, wanting nothing more than to assure you that what you thought is wrong and all he wanted was only you.
after he had made sure the door was locked and no one else was hiding somewhere, he immediately took your hands in his rubbing the back of your palm with his thumb.
you didn't know what to feel, was this how he held that girl's hand too? did he hold hers with gentleness too? with that in thought, your tears were back.
"no no, please don't cry. it was all a misunderstanding i promise." he held your face and wiped away the tears, his eyes held worry but so much love as well.
"she mistook me as her boyfriend, it didn't even last for 10 seconds because the moment she held my hand we both pulled away from each other.. it was just wrong timing that you saw it and we made eye contact, please believe me." he was practically crying with you right now, his own tears cascading down the apple of his cheeks.
you frantically nodded your head - now you were the one panicking at the sight of his tears. "i do, thank you for explaining. please don't cry." his tears were wiped with your thumbs as you hugged him tight.
"i don't want you to ever think i'm lying to you, you're really all i need." he explained further through his sobs, his arms tightening around you more.
there you two were, hugging each other in an empty room, tears falling down from both of your eyes as you comforted each other. and at that moment, no one else mattered - it was just the both of you in the world.
★ PARK SUNGHOON (0.6k words)
to say that sunghoon felt like shit the whole day yesterday and this morning was an understatement. he had desperately contacted you in all your social media accounts - fucking christ he even contacted you through your school's email, but to no avail, he was always left ignored.
he didn't blame you though, if he was to experience and see what you did yesterday, he would act the same - maybe even worse. sunghoon wanted nothing more but to make it up to you, to explain that he was only doing wonyoung a favor to make her crush jealous. i guess you could blame him for agreeing, but did he really have a choice when she just randomly grabbed him and told him to smile at every passing student? maybe.
he had texted wonyoung that same afternoon, telling her- demanding her politely? to explain everything to you, she told him she did but was only left on read by you. the girl apologized profusely to you and sunghoon, she didn't have any idea about the two of you and if she did - she wouldn't have done what she did.
but what's done is done, and now sunghoon is still trying to desperately reach you. throughout the day, he would hear your name coming out of other people's mouth, but not once did he catch a single glimpse of you. sunghoon was running out of options, he didn't want to be that type of guy to show up infront of your door step in fear of crossing boundaries, but he was seriously considering doing it today.
sunghoon mentally chanted your name in his head as if that would help and summon you, and you know what? maybe it did work because now he was seeing you standing across from him, your back facing towards him as you looked at the bulletin board.
not wasting any time, he raced towards you and gently grabbed your forearm, successfully turning your attention from the bulletin board to the taller boy behind you. sunghoon wanted the ground to swallow him whole when he saw how your face dropped at the sight of him.
"let's talk, please?" he whispered that only you could hear, glancing around the corridor before looking back at you. the small hesitant nod was everything he needed before he lead you in an empty hall as everyone was in the cafeteria.
sunghoon took his chance and took you in, loving the way you've dressed yourself today and he wanted to just keep you in his arms all day, but he reminded himself that he needed to clear things up and make you his girlfriend obviously before he could even do that.
"wony already explained everything, i'm sorry for assuming the wrong thing.." sunghoon was taken aback by your sudden apology, and the tightness in his chest grew.
he took your face in his hand, gently bringing your chin up so he could look you in the eye. "i should be the one apologizing.. i'm sorry for making you feel that way, i didn't have any other intentions towards her and i only like you.. so much to the point that it hurts. i'll do anything to prove it to you."
he couldn't understand that someone so precious as you could grow such feelings for him, he couldn't process and believe that he's important to someone he finds important too. should he be punished by the gods above because he finds your teary eyes enchanting? he could see his reflection in your eyes and the love it carries, and somehow he finally understands. sunghoon feels warm as he brought you to his chest, tucking your head in the crook of his neck.
"i'll show you, i'll give you my everything and my forever. you're it for me."

➪ with being the town's resident heartthrob, there isn't a time in your day where you don't hear sunghoon's name leave the mouths of fawning teenage girls. you've never really gotten the hype about him, though maybe that's because you just needed to be given a chance to talk to him for yourself. you quickly find that you're learning more about him than you intend and maybe, just maybe, you start to understand the incessant chatter about him.
a crisp morning breeze swirled around your walking figure and left tendrils of your hair blowing wildly behind you. you shivered lightly, closing the ends of your school uniform jacket tighter around yourself as you made a conscious effort to quicken your pace to the bus stop. the weight of your school bag had you hunching forward at an angle that certainly wasn't going to be helpful to the growth of your spine. you swore that by the end of the year, you'd end up with a back like quasimodo's.
you arrived at the bus stop where your few friends greeted you with equally hunched backs and quivering limbs littered with goosebumps. yuna immediately curled her arms around you and shifted your back to the direction the wind was blowing, effectively using you as a human shield.
"gee, thanks," you murmured less than enthusiastically, but you allowed her to remain hidden nonetheless. "i need to stop by the school library on the way to class to return my book. anyone wanna come with?" you invited, searching between each of your friends' faces and receiving the same sheepish expression in return.
"we kind of already made plans to watch sunghoon's morning practice before class started," ningning confessed apologetically, twirling a strand of her hair mindlessly around her finger. chaerin shrugged her shoulders, mouthing the word sorry to you.
you grunted displeasingly, though you should've expected as much. it seemed to you like every girl and their mothers wanted to bend over backwards just to breathe the same air as park sunghoon. you never understood why, though. you'd admit that he was extremely gifted in the genes department and you knew he was an above average student with exceptional grades, but that also applied to many other guys in your town. what made park sunghoon so different? was it simply because he could skate without falling on his ass with every step he took? jung sungchan could burp the alphabet backwards yet nobody seemed to be impressed by that mad show of skill.
the bus ride was as excruciating as ever having to listen to your friends giggle obnoxiously over the forbidden boy. you let a long sigh draw from your lips as you dug out your library book and began to read it for a third time in a desperate attempt to block them out. the ride could not have lasted any longer and as soon as it pulled into the school parking lot, you, being the ever so lovely friend you were, nearly knocked yuna into the aisle as you clambered over her to be one of the first to exit the bus.
you rushed inside to get away from the incessant sunghoon chatter and the biting wind gusts that nipped the tips of your nose and ears a dull shade of red. with your beloved book clutched firmly to your chest, you easily navigated through the slowly crowding hallways in the direction of the library where you had become a weekly visitor to. greeting the librarian with a warm smile as you slid your returning book over the countertop to her, you turned on your heel to scavenge through the fantasy section for the next book in the series you'd been invested in recently. after locating the next book, you briefly flipped through some of the pages to look for any rips or signs of damage, and to secretly get that bookish scent you weirdly liked.
a ping chimed from your phone in the pocket of your school bag and you hurried to snatch it out, feeling a little flustered at not remembering to have turned the ringer off before you entered the school. a text notification from chaerin asked you to snag a book she needed from the nonfiction section tagged with a bunch of hearts and kissy emojis that had you rolling your eyes fondly. you ventured over to the appropriate book section and began to scan the shelves for the requested book, finding it in almost no time at all. you whirled around in a hurry to check the books out and get to class early and somehow didn't notice the presence slipping along the wall of shelves behind you until your two bodies collided.
"ah, sorry!" you rushed out at the same time the other person had, both of you reaching out to steady the other purely on instinct. your two books tumbled to the floor with muted thumps that the rough carpet muffled slightly. glancing up at the person who you'd nearly ran over, you felt the oxygen inside of you come to a screeching halt behind the invisible barrier your throat had created as your eyes made contact with the forbidden boy's.
"it was an accident, no worries. are you alright?" a gentle smile easily graced his lips as he retracted his hands from you before bending down to gather up the two books you had dropped, handing them out to you after straightening back up. you accepted them back into your own hands as you tried to force your lungs to start working properly again, quickly dropping your gaze from his face so that you could do so easily.
"i'm fine, thank you," you echoed quietly, immediately clutching the books to your chest like you had done previously. what was wrong with you? more importantly, what was wrong with him that resulted in there being something wrong with you? "shouldn't you be at the ice rink?" you blurted out, surprising even yourself with the question that really was none of your business nor did you really care what the reason was...didn't you?
sparing another glance at his face proved to be a fatal mistake as you were once again left with dysfunctional lungs. a short chuckle reverberated from him as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his uniform's pants. "i'm just looking for something before i go. are you eager to watch?" something about the way he asked the question didn't seem arrogant like you'd expected it to, though that definitely didn't stop you from instantly becoming defensive in the face of fluster.
you scoffed, letting the puff of air pass humorlessly through your lips as you moved to take a step around him. "i'm not exactly the fangirl type. my friends are going down there to watch you so i thought you'd be there already," you objected, beginning to take slow and languid steps towards the front desk to check out the books. sunghoon's eyes followed you as you moved and you couldn't help but feel nervous under his burning gaze.
"oh, i see. well, you're always welcome to stop by if you ever find yourself with some free time, no fangirl label attached." he flashed that charming smile once more before turning to slink further into the library, leaving you to scurry to the desk and then to your class.
"you'd better never give that book back," yuna decreed with an envious pout casted in chaerin's direction from across the table. you rolled your eyes briefly before returning to the paragraph you were in the midst of reading from your newly acquired book, only half listening to the conversation at hand.
"it's checked out under my name, don't do anything unspeakable with it. i'm not letting any of you ruin my reputation as a responsible book handler," you quipped, your eyes not once leaving the pages sat open before you.
"forget about the book, y/n actually made physical contact with him. look, i think her skin is glowing now." ningning abruptly grabbed your hand to inspect it too closely under the fluorescent lighting of the classroom, yuna leaning in to observe your palm as well.
jerking your hand back to yourself with your lip curled in revulsion, you placed your marker in your book and closed it up just as the professor entered the room to start the lesson. you hadn't made it more than half an hour into the lesson when you experienced your lungs failing you once more. the professor started the class by briefly going over a new project you would be starting this semester, only the project was one half of a collaboration with another class that you weren't taking and each person would be paired up with someone from the other class. it wasn't that bad in your opinion, though you'd definitely much rather work with one of your friends. where it all went south for you was the minute the professor began to read off the pairing assignments aloud.
"chaerin will be partnered up with yang jeongin." chaerin shrugged, muttering something along the lines of how her partner could have been worse. "y/n will be partnered up with park sunghoon."
the millisecond the words had been uttered into existence, it seemed as though everyone collectively stopped everything they were doing and turned to stare you down. your wide eyes frantically searched your friends' equally shellshocked faces, their mirrored expressions letting you know that you had indeed heard the professor correctly. slowly, you slumped down in your seat as you could feel dozens of envious eyes boring holes into you from all angles of the room. a dizzying mix of emotions flooded you at once and left you barely functioning through the remainder of the class.
as you wandered down the hallway with your friends pestering you about your newly acquired project partner, the dread you'd been feeling amplified tenfold after rounding the corner and spotting the forbidden boy just at the opposite end with his own friends. you kept your head down and prayed to every god, goddess, and magical holiday being that he wouldn't say anything to you. of course, you'd probably forgotten to have a little chat with the tooth fairy or something as the exact opposite of what you'd been asking for happened.
"hey!" you'd planned to just pretend to not have realized that sunghoon was calling out to you, but of course your conniving friends weren't allowing that to happen. ningning grabbed at the nape of your shirt, promptly halting you in your steps and simultaneously nearly choking you out. you swallowed back the urge to groan aloud and forced a tight-lipped smile as sunghoon veered from his group of friends to stop directly before you. "you're y/n, right? i think we're paired up for that project."
you nodded stiffly. "yep, looks like we are." you were acutely aware of the stares you got from students passing by and the much unwanted attention had you shrinking in on yourself slightly.
"when should we meet up to start on it? i'm free after practice so if it works out for you, we can head to the library or something." an invisible cloud of warmth seemed to envelop you out of nowhere, causing you to squirm in slight discomfort.
before you could open your mouth to respond, ningning's voice spoke up on behalf of you much to your dismay. "she'll meet you there!" she chirped, successfully dodging the elbow you tried to land against her abdomen.
"cool, i'll see you later then," sunghoon answered before moving around the four of you to catch back up to his friends once more.
"did you feel that? he's so hot that he has his own climate," yuna hissed out in a harsh whisper as the group of you continued on towards your collective destination to the art room. you rolled your eyes, this time allowing the defeated groan to slip past your lips. though now your curiosity had been sparked knowing that the other girls had felt the wave of heat, also.
by the end of the day, you were sick of hearing about sunghoon more than usual. but, with all the unlucky energy you'd somehow managed to absorb over this 24-hour period, you found yourself begrudgingly following your friends to the school's ice rink for the first time in, well, ever. your lack of appearances to sunghoon's practices proved to be more of a disadvantage than you'd first thought after seeing your friends bundle up in warm coats and hats. thankfully, chaerin had additionally brought a blanket that she was more than willing to let you use.
you weren't sure whether or not to feel surprised by the number of seats in the stands that had already been taken up by female students of varying grade levels. did all these people really not have anything more important to do? following your eager friends into one of the rows closest to the front, you dropped your school bag to the ground and immediately fished out your book before slouching in the cushioned seat. you had no problem tuning out the noise around you as it had been a skill you'd learned to do quite quickly in your school career. however, it wasn't the constant buzz of conversations being held around you or even the sudden burst of cheers and encouraging words shouted from the stands as you imagined sunghoon gliding out onto the ice that distracted you, but it was the sight you caught from your peripheral vision of a lithe body launching up into the air in a triple axel before landing with such grace back onto the ice.
from all the talk you'd heard around school, you knew he was good at what he did though you did convince yourself that his talent was being a bit exaggerated by overenthusiastic fans. you definitely didn't expect him to be this skilled, and you couldn't help but let your eyes subtly follow him over the top of your book as he continued to flawlessly execute impossible looking tricks. with each successful landing, high pitched shouts of praise would echo into the rink and it didn't take long for your head to start ringing with signs of an impending headache. the chilly air definitely wasn't helping your case either and left your ears, nose, and cheeks dusting a light shade of red.
"ooh, y/n's interest has been sparked," yuna crowed teasingly above the noise of another cheer, giving your shoulder a playful shake. it didn't take long for ningning and chaerin to join in on the friendly banter at your expense. though you once more showed your displeasure with a signature eye roll, you couldn't mask the small smile that crept onto your lips as you tried to fixate your attention back to the words littering the pages of your book.
"he's alright," you admitted quietly. he may be alright, but that didn't mean you were going to drop to your knees at the mere sight of him. you simply had to tolerate him long enough to get your project finished with a decent grade, then you'd hopefully never have to be seen with him again.
clearly you underestimated the effort you'd have to put into deliberately avoiding the forbidden boy. it seemed as though every corner you turned, he was there with his flock of fangirls crowding him and his friends. and of course he couldn't go a single encounter without acknowledging you each time with a wave or a smile which effectively drew the attention of his fanclub to you. you couldn't even use the restroom without noticing a trio of girls whispering in the corner and casting pointed looks in your direction.
ningning and yuna brushed your concerns off each time you brought up the situation which only frustrated you even more. maybe they were right, though, maybe you really were just overreacting. you had nothing to hide, there was no secret relationship to keep from the eyes and ears of the student body. in fact, you wouldn't even consider there to be a secret friendship to conceal. you met up at the library after school each day to work on the assignment, rarely speaking about anything off the topic of such, then you'd pack up and head your separate ways after about an hour or two of working. there was hardly anything for anyone to be jealous about.
one thing that you could appreciate, though, was sunghoon's punctuality. every day after his practice, he was meeting up with you in the library at exactly 4:45 sharp to begin working. it had become an unspoken agreement that was shared between the two of you that 4:45 was your designated meeting time. so, when you'd glanced up at the wall clock ticking above the library door and saw that the time read fifteen minutes past, your brows furrowed confusedly. pulling out your phone to make sure that the clock on the wall wasn't just running fast, the digital numbers on your lockscreen confirmed that it was indeed past time and sunghoon was late.
it was only then that you slightly regretted not exchanging phone numbers, of course only for emergency purposes such as this. deciding you'd wait just a few minutes longer, you continued to work on your portion of the joined project. after glancing up a bit later and noticing that ten more minutes had passed with still no sign of sunghoon, you let out an irritated huff and began to pack up your things, swinging your bag over your shoulders before wandering out of the library. there was only one possible place you could think to look for him in which, unfortunately for you, was located at the opposite side of the school.
you made the three minute trek to the ice rink and pushed inside of the double doors leading into the stands. unusually, there were no students occupying the seats, but there was one person occupying the rink. sunghoon. you ventured further into the chilly arena with your arms folded protectively over yourself, a shiver creeping up your spine as goosebumps rose on the exposed patches of your skin. you opened your mouth to call out to sunghoon when another voice echoed much to your surprise.
"do it again!" scanning the seats, you didn't see anyone else out there which only served to confuse you more. taking a few more cautious steps down the aisle, you could just barely make out the top of someone's head on the other side of the rink's walls, the person watching as sunghoon glided around inside.
"i need a break," you heard sunghoon call back to the person, the exhaustion in his voice painfully evident as he bent over slightly with his hands braced against his thighs for support, his back heaving up and down with heavy breaths. copious amounts of steam rolled off of him and nearly enveloped him in a smoky cloud, and you wondered just how cold it really was in that rink.
"what you need is to perfect that transition, now do it again," the person barked back mercilessly. your eyes grew slightly wide as you watched in silence, too afraid to make your presence known now.
without another word, sunghoon straightened back up and wiped at the sweat collecting on his forehead before skating a few laps around the rink to build his momentum back up. you noticed the way that he seemed to drag his feet as he went, and a small pinch of worry had your heart skipping a beat or two. as you'd seen him do the week before, he launched himself into the air in a perfect triple axel, then again in a double, and then– an involuntary shriek slipped past your lips as sunghoon's body collapsed onto the ice with a hard thud, your hands immediately flying up to cover your face.
"hey!" the man outside of the ring whirled around abruptly at the sound of your shriek. "we said no watchers today, get out!"
sunghoon's head lifted at the sound of you being scolded, the steam still rising around his body as he lay in a heap on the ice. "y/n?" he called out, tiredly pushing himself back up to his feet. despite the seething glare of the man, who you'd figured was a coach of some sort, you found yourself rushing down the aisle of the stands and hurrying to the gate leading into the rink. just barely making it to the wall before his legs began to buckle again, sunghoon grabbed onto your outstretched hand and hobbled over the threshold.
"are you okay? do you need to see the nurse? i think she's still here." you allowed sunghoon to lean against you as he slipped on the blade guards, the heat radiating off of him causing you to feel immensely hot in a matter of seconds. you pushed that to the back of your mind for the time being as you helped him over to the bench, gingerly lowering him down onto it.
"he'll be fine," the man sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he followed the two of you over. wordlessly, sunghoon weakly lifted a finger to point behind you and you easily located the object he was asking for.
you grabbed the water bottle and even took the initiative to open the cap for him before handing it over, fixing a hard glare at the man standing over you shortly after. "i don't think that's for you to decide," you bit out harshly. "you should feel ashamed of yourself, he told you he needed a break."
a small chuckle sounded from sunghoon after he had lowered the water bottle from his lips, quickly wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "i'm not hurt, y/n, promise," he assured you with a warming smile. "just a little tired." still, you shot one last unfriendly look towards the man before rising from your crouched position in front of sunghoon, crossing your arms over your chest.
"we need to get back to practice, so if you'd kindly take your leave–"
ignoring the man, you pointedly kept your attention on sunghoon. "you should get back home and rest, it seems like you've been here long enough." you weren't sure where this sudden urge to look out for him came from. just minutes prior, you were thinking up new ways to dodge him in the hallways and had even considered asking the professor to trade partners. you definitely still weren't one-hundred percent happy about the situation, though something inside of you now deterred you from your negative thoughts. maybe you actually felt bad for sunghoon, at least for now.
brushing off your words of concern with another pretty smile, sunghoon instead sat his water bottle down next to his feet before leaning with his back against the concrete half wall separating the three of you from the stands. "i'm sorry i didn't make it to the library today. we can work an extra day this weekend if you'd like to make up for it," he apologized sincerely, reaching up to wipe more sweat from his brow.
you were quick to shake your head adamantly. "no, don't worry about it. we're almost done with it anyways and we still have plenty of time before it's due."
sunghoon's gaze remained fixated on your face as you spoke, his eyes tracing over your features with a certain intensity that made you start to feel hot all over again. you swallowed thickly, shifting your weight to one side as you were the first to break eye contact with him. you hated that, you hated how you slowly began to see and understand the things that your friends gushed about constantly. sunghoon had a way of making you feel like you were the main love interest in a cheesy romance drama with the constant lingering gazes and endless smiles casted in your direction. surely it was your own mind playing tricks on you as you gradually found yourself beginning to think more and more about him regardless of your persistence to avoid him. no matter what it was that you were thinking about, it somehow always involved sunghoon.
clearing your throat awkwardly, you adjusted your bag on your shoulders and began to take slow steps towards the stands in order to make your exit. "so, you're sure you're going to be okay?" you queried, your brows furrowed with uncertainty.
sunghoon nodded. "i'll be okay, thank you. i'll see you tomorrow, y/n, and i promise to actually be there on time," he answered lightheartedly despite having nearly suffered a serious injury just moments prior. with one last wary glance, you nodded before treading back the way you had come.
"are you going to the dance?" your hand paused mid-writing and your eyes briefly darted up to glance across the table, finding sunghoon still working diligently. you narrowed your eyes slightly before diverting your attention back to your open textbook.
"no," you deadpanned in response.
"why not?" sunghoon pressed. "i'm going."
you snickered, "is that supposed to make me want to go?" perhaps it did a bit, but you were far too stubborn to admit it even to yourself.
sunghoon just laughed lightly in return, then it stayed quiet between you two as you continued working on the last bits of your project. it had been three days since the incident at the ice rink and neither of you had spoken about it since. in fact, neither of you had spoken at all until just moments ago; he had even stopped saying hello to you in the hallways. it didn't bother you...no, really, it didn't!
"are you not going with your friends?" he asked, sitting back in his chair after dropping his pencil atop the table with a short clatter. once more, you glanced up at him briefly before adverting your gaze away from him.
"no, chaerin's going with someone from another school, ningning will be out of town that weekend, and yuna's stuck babysitting for the night. besides, i have tests to study for," you sighed heavily, also dropping your pencil between the pages of your textbook before leaning back in your own chair. still, you refused to meet sunghoon's gaze.
"i'm sure if you asked someone to go with you, they'd say yes. you only get to experience high school once, you know."
you snorted lightly in response, crossing your arms over your chest. "unless you're lucky enough to repeat a year or two. besides, i don't have anyone i'm interested in asking."
sunghoon hummed softly, nodding as he reached out to begin twirling his pencil between his fingers. "i see, but what if there's someone who's interested in asking you?"
you raised your eyebrows skeptically, finally managing to spare the forbidden boy a few seconds of eye contact. "if you're implying that you want to ask me, then i'm sorry for bursting your bubble but i'm not going."
sunghoon's mouth dropped open for a few seconds before it closed again and he cleared his throat awkwardly. "uh, actually one of my friends, jisung, wanted to ask you. don't worry about it, though, he'll ask someone else."
you wanted to punch yourself. of course sunghoon wasn't going to ask you, why would you assume he was going to? your face flushed red with embarrassment and you were forced to look away from him. "oh," you answered dumbly, your fingers finding each other as they twiddled nervously.
"i'm already going with someone." of course he was, you weren't surprised at all by this revelation. were you disappointed, though? maybe just the slightest bit.
you forced a tight-lipped smile as you picked your pencil back up, hunching back over your textbook once more. "she must be a lucky girl, then," you ventured, indicating with your lack of enthusiasm that you were done with the conversation.
picking up on your cue, sunghoon let a long sigh draw from his lips before leaning over his own book. you sucked your bottom lip between your teeth as your brain failed to focus on the task at hand and instead opted to flood with thoughts about the dance. your school hosted its annual halloween dance the week before the spooky holiday and you'd never been interested in going until that point. of course the one year you'd decided to try coming out of your antisocial shell, the universe wanted to work against you by taking your friends out of the equation. not wanting to go alone, you had stuffed the thought to the back of your mind, but now that you actually had a chance to go, you were definitely starting to rethink your decisions.
finally getting fed up with your overthinking, you hastily opened up your notebook and tore out a piece of paper. you scribbled your contact information down before folding it up and shoving it across the table at an unsuspecting sunghoon. "give that to your friend," you spoke shortly before resuming your task, thankfully with much more peace of mind.
another silent week passed before the halloween dance was taking place and you were anxiously waiting in your living room with chaerin and her date for jisung to arrive and pick the three of you up. you felt that you looked like the female lead in a cheesy coming of age movie who'd just had her glow up, and you honestly couldn't decide whether or not it was an experience you enjoyed. with your hair twisted up in an elaborate updo and shimmering eyeshadow decorating your lids, it was safe to say that you hadn't felt this feminine in a long time and it made you a bit self-conscious.
glancing up at the sound of a car pulling into your driveway, you were met with a momentary wave of relief as you stood from your seat and smoothed down the silky material of your dress. however, that relief lasted all of five seconds when your overenthusiastic parents came scrambling into the living room with cameras galore, insisting that they get pictures of you with everyone before you left. your cheeks flared bright red as you opened up the door to let jisung inside, muttering a quick apology for what was about to take place before accepting your defeat and letting the slightly embarrassing photoshoot happen.
after your parents were satisfied, the four of you left in a hurry and you hobbled to jisung's car in your uncomfortable heels. you thanked him genuinely with a smile as he opened the passenger door for you and helped you inside, even going the extra mile to make sure the skirt of your dress was safely tucked inside of the car before gently closing the door. jisung was a sweet boy, that much you had come to learn quite quickly. he was prone to becoming a flustered mess in your presence and he ever so shyly asked if you wanted to match color themes with him for the dance which you couldn't say no to. there was definitely nothing wrong with him, but your mind constantly seemed to be somewhere else.
that proved to still be an issue as the next thing you knew, your door was being opened once more much to your surprise. trying to mask the fact that you had just completely zoned out the entire eight minute ride to the school grounds, you placed your hand in jisung's offered palm and allowed him to help you slide out of the car with grace. your arm naturally slid to link with his as the four of you made your way to the entrance of the school where each couple or friend group paused to have their pictures taken by the school's yearbook team.
a short wolf whistle caught your attention after the last photo was snapped, then the unmistakable voice of the class president bellowed above the noise. "is that miss y/n?"
your cheeks flushed with embarrassment as multiple pairs of eyes instantly drew to you. "shut up, chenle!" jisung hollered back before swiftly leading you into the gymnasium with chaerin and her date close behind.
the vast room was fully decked out in halloween decorations and pulsing purple lights lit up the otherwise darkened gym. orange and black streamers seemed to hang everywhere you turned and decorative tablecloths lined the snacks and drinks tables. a photo booth was set up in the far corner and students were already moving around on the open dance floor as overplayed songs bumped from the large speakers placed near the stage.
"let's go, what are we waiting for?" chaerin called above the sound of the music before grabbing both your and her date's hands and dragging you to the dance floor, your free hand instinctively clasping onto jisung's to take him with you.
you had no idea how to dance and you quickly started kicking yourself, thankfully not literally, for not thinking to learn different moves other than the awkward shuffle you had been doing for the last two songs. luckily, it seemed that jisung had no idea what he was doing either and both of you continued to giggle and poke fun at each other into the third song of the night. well, that was until jisung got suckered into the middle of a dance circle where he completely changed your assumption on his dancing abilities as he absolutely decimated the classmate who had challenged him to the small dance-off in the first place.
"where's sunghoon?" just as jisung had returned to your side after being congratulated with slaps on his back and encouraging words, a girl whom you were slightly familiar with had strutted right up to the two of you with her arms folded unamusedly over her chest. "i've been looking for him for ten minutes, text him or something. he's your friend, isn't he?" she demanded jisung with an unpleasant scowl on her otherwise pretty features.
jisung's lips parted slightly in bewilderment before hurriedly starting to pat at his various pockets to locate his phone. you quirked a challenging eyebrow in her direction, "you don't have his number?"
she scoffed, fixing her steely glare at you. "no, do you?" she bit back venomously, a satisfied smug look crossing her features as you remained silent.
"i'll come find you when he replies," jisung announced, locking his phone to slot back into his pocket when the device was abruptly snatched out of his hand.
"or," she snipped, "you'll stay with me until he replies."
jisung glanced back and forth between the two of you unsurely, prompting an irritated noise to rumble from within your throat as you bent down to hastily remove your shoes from your feet. "for god's sake, i'll go look for him," you sighed before whirling around and storming out of the gymnasium with your bare feet slapping noisily against the tiled floors of the hallway. you immediately knew where to look as should anyone who knew anything about sunghoon.
bursting carelessly through the doors leading to the ice rink, your voice immediately rang around the echoey arena. "park sunghoon!" as you marched down the aisle between the stands, you found the body of none other than the boy of the hour laying flat on his back in the middle of the rink with his limbs spread out. his head turned in your direction as you eventually made it to the gate, your figure already beginning to quiver with the cold that blew over your exposed skin. "what are you doing in here?"
"i like to come here when i need to cool off," he answered nonchalantly, not making any effort to move from his starfish pose on the hard ice. surely it was uncomfortable, right?
"right, because it must be such hard work being adored by the masses," you surmised, rolling your eyes despite the small smile that wanted to tug the corners of your lips up.
sunghoon's mouth dropped open in mock offense. "ah, if it wasn't so cold in here, i'd almost say that burned."
once more, you granted him another eye roll though this time a half-hearted chuckle managed to escape from your lips. the steam rolling off of him caught your attention once more, and this time you couldn't find it in yourself to let it slide. "wow, you really do have your own climate," you commented, leaning forward to drape your arms across the top of the gate leading into the rink.
sunghoon raised his eyebrows in question. "i do? is that your way of saying i'm hot?" the amount of heat that rose to your cheeks should've created your own shield of steam in the chilly arena.
you quickly diverted your gaze to somewhere off in the distance to refrain from showing him just how flustered that stupid question made you. "no," you asserted, "it's something stupid my friends say."
"right, of course..." he trailed off before finally pushing himself up into a seated position. "how did you know i'd be here?"
you scoffed, "please, you're so predictable. the school's ice skater disappears during a time where he's needed, of course the only logical place to look would be in the ice rink. it doesn't take rocket science to figure that out."
sunghoon laughed lightly, giving a short nod in response. "i guess you're right. can i ask another question?"
"you just did," you deadpanned, "but sure, go for it i guess."
"why did you come looking for me?" the teasing glint in his eye gave away exactly what he was thinking and you were quick to shut that theory of his down.
"funny you should ask. your date is holding mine hostage until you return, so unless you'd like to explain to her parents why you're returning her home damaged, then it may be in your best interest to come claim her."
sunghoon held your gaze for a few moments longer before nodding and pushing himself up onto his feet. taking slow and stiff strides towards the gate, he once more grasped your outstretched palm and stepped over the threshold onto solid, non-slippery ground. the heat he radiated engulfed you just as it had done before and the goosebumps and incessant shivering you'd been enduring ceased at once. something about it felt odd to you, no person should constantly be running this warm. previously you'd just chalked it up to him overworking himself in the rink, but this time he had simply been laying there. your curiosity got the best of you as you fell into step next to sunghoon while making your trek back to the gymnasium.
"are you feeling okay?" you asked, twirling the strap of one of your heels around your hand as you walked. you peeked at him through your peripheral vision and noticed him doing the same in your direction.
"yes, i'm okay. just a little nervous, i guess. why do you ask?"
you almost wanted to ask why the hell he of all people would be feeling nervous, but you were sharp enough to see what he was trying to do. "you're always abnormally hot, and before you let it boost your ego, i mean it quite literally."
sunghoon breathed out a small laugh. "i wasn't going to think about it like that, anyways." he shook his head slightly before continuing, "i guess i just always run a bit warmer than other people. i get that from my father's side, he's quite a heater, as well."
you sucked your cheeks in slightly, not buying his story for even a second. but, for argument's sake and because ultimately it wasn't really your place to poke your nose in his business, you gave a simple nod and paused just outside of the gym to slip your heels back on. a sharp intake of breath filled your lungs as sunghoon stopped alongside you, then knelt down to begin fastening the straps of your shoes after you'd slid them back on. wordlessly, he rose back to his feet and flashed that swoon worthy smile of his before entering the chaotic gymnasium with you following in tow, your mind void of all things except for the forbidden boy.
"hey, y/n!" a voice hissed in a loud whisper. you turned to your left, ready to use the book in your hand to defend yourself with until you recognized who the owner of the voice was. you let your guard back down with a small sigh, clutching the book to your chest as jisung came trotting up to you. "are you busy this friday?"
you hesitated before shaking your head negatively, your brows creasing together slightly. "no, why?"
jisung scratched the back of his neck which, you'd learned in the few days prior to your date to the dance, was a nervous habit of his. it was endearing, you decided. "well, some of my friends and i are gonna go trick or treating and i wanted to see if you'd like to join us," he explained in a hushed tone, shifting from one foot to the other as he glanced between the library book shelves.
"oh," you started, "uh, who specifically does that include?"
"me, chenle, taehyun, jinha..." he listed off a few more students before the name you were silently hoping you wouldn't hear; or, maybe you did hope to hear it, "...and sunghoon."
you swallowed thickly before shifting your focus to your worn shoes below. "do you mind if i bring some of my friends?" you finally asked, bringing your eyes back up to meet jisung's once more. he nodded rapidly, and you found yourself agreeing to tag along much to his delight. he quickly told you where the designated meeting spot would be before bounding further into the library with a giddy smile. you knew how he felt about you, he was really quite horrible at hiding it whenever you were around, but you couldn't find it in your heart to shut him down. you'd never had anyone crush on you before, at least not to your knowledge, what were you supposed to do with this information?
it didn't take very much convincing for your three friends to agree to going after you'd said the magic word, that being sunghoon. so, that friday night you found yourself waltzing to the decided meeting spot dressed as one of four ninja turtles to correspond with the three others your friends represented. you honestly couldn't remember what your turtle's name was, but you did enjoy the fact that you got to carry around a huge wooden staff. at least you now had a reason to yield a weapon to knock yuna upside the head with if she pestered you about the forbidden boy too much.
"are we ready to go?" ningning asked aloud after the four of you had arrived, swinging her empty pumpkin bucket around.
"no, sunghoon's not answering," the only other girl there answered with a harsh huff, and you immediately recognized her from the school dance.
you frowned a little, glancing around until you caught jisung's eye from across the group. he only shrugged animatedly and glanced back down at his phone like he was waiting for a notification to suddenly pop up.
"has anyone checked up on him at his house or anything?" you questioned, a scoff of disbelief falling from your lips as everyone shook their heads. "some friends you are," you sighed heavily. "then maybe we should split up to search for him? some of us check at his house, some check at the places he's at most, and the rest can check at the school. maybe he got held back during practice or something."
slowly but surely, the group dispersed in small search parties which resulted in you traveling to the school with jisung and jinha. "hey, geniuses, how do you plan to get into the school? we can't break in unless we want to start criminal records," jinha nagged from the backseat.
"chenle snagged his mom's id card so we can get inside," jisung replied, holding up the school staff badge that all school workers wore clipped to their shirts during the day.
you took the badge from jisung's hand to examine it, seeing that it was indeed the vice principal's id stamped on the front of the glossy plastic. "why does he just randomly have this?" you implored before handing it back to the boy just as he pulled into the school's parking lot.
"he stole it last year and made her think she lost it so she'd get a new one. he keeps this one in case he needs to get inside for...certain activities." sensing that jisung wasn't going to elaborate any further, you didn't push for more details and climbed out of the vehicle.
"great, so now i'm associated with a criminal," jinha pouted as the three of you charged up to the entrance, jisung hastily swiping the card across the reader panel before the doors unlocked with a loud clunk.
you rolled your eyes, leading the way inside where you were met with nothing but darkness. "don't worry, i'm sure your boyfriend will find a way to bail you out," you retorted as the three of you collectively fished out your phones to utilize their flashlights.
"of course he will, but i still don't want it on my track record."
"i think we should split up to look," you announced, quickly growing fed up with jinha's whiny attitude.
"you're insane, there's no way in hell i'm wandering around this school alone! that's how the characters all die in horror movies. jisung, you're coming with me," she stated firmly before grasping his wrist and yanking him down the east wing.
"good riddance," you muttered to yourself as you made your way down the west wing. you had to admit, the school seemed much more daunting at night with the eerily quiet hallways and the usually blocked out sounds of various electrical units running. your heart began to thud harder and faster in your chest the further into the school you crept, and eventually you had to stop and lean against the wall of lockers to collect yourself. you'd finally gotten your breathing and heart rate back to normal when you heard it, and your blood turned to ice immediately.
you held your breath, the thumping of your heart rising again as you strained to listen for the sound to come again. you took a few hesitant steps forward with your flashlight shakily guiding you before you heard it a second time. a cry of pain, it was distant but you definitely heard it and it only served to frighten you more. immediately, you began to back up the way you had just come from when a sudden feeling struck you hard.
go look.
the feeling was intense and it had you halting in your backtracking steps. why would you want to investigate? you had no idea what or who was making that noise, and you wanted no part in whatever was happening. but, no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't shake the incessant feeling that begged you to go see what was going on. with a final deep breath to clear your body of its nerves, you began to move forward down the hallway again. you weren't sure where you were supposed to be looking, but you guessed you'd just follow the sounds. another anguished cry faintly tickled your ears, then–
the ice rink.
swallowing down the urge to break down under the immense fear coursing through your veins, you bolted for the arena and came to a halt just outside of the heavy metal doors leading into the stands. you pressed your ear against the door to listen for any signs of life inside and jumped back with a yelp of surprise as the heated metal made contact with your cheek. why was it so hot? was there a fire inside? what if someone was trapped?
clutching your phone tightly in your hand, you busted through the doors and were met with a wave of unbearably sweltering heat that choked you up for only a moment or two. the air was thick with humidity and it didn't take long for your body to begin reacting to the overwhelming warmth of the arena.
in the center of the ice rink, a thick cloud of smoke nearly hid the hunched silhouette of a person who emitted the same pained cry that you'd been hearing. it couldn't be...
"sunghoon?" you called out above the loud sizzle that echoed off the walls of the vast room. throwing caution to the wind, you charged down the aisle and over to the gate where you had stood all those times prior. the closer you drew to the rink, the hotter the air became until you were sure your hair would singe if you moved any closer. "sunghoon, is that you? what's going on?" you called again, watching with squinted vision as the shadowed figure curled in on themself after letting out a guttural groan.
"leave!" he growled out quite literally, the sound unlike anything you'd ever heard a human produce. it shot a spike of fear down your spine, but regardless you remained planted by the gate. the ice around him was rapidly melting into water and evaporating into the air, adding to the thick fog encasing his body.
"i'll call for help, just stay put!" you called out once more, your shaky hands fumbling with your phone as you tried to navigate from your flashlight to your phone app to call for emergency services.
"no, don't!" the same gravelly voice grumbled, effectively stopping you from proceeding with your actions as you glanced up with wide, panic stricken eyes. slowly, he began to drag his body out of the curtain of steam and a stunned silence fell over you as a pair of brightly glowing green eyes met with yours. your phone fell to the ground with a clatter and your lips parted in a silent scream that never made it out. "y/n, please, don't tell anyone," he pleaded before dropping to the ice with another cry, his body twisting and writhing around in discomfort.
red scales painted his bare torso in random patches that ran all the way down his arms and crept up his neck, and his spine visibly rippled as small spikes began to push through his skin. if you weren't in such a state of shock, you'd almost be sickened by the sight of it, though that shock quickly morphed into concern as you watched him drag his nails against the ice in a feeble attempt to relieve the pain undoubtedly coursing through his body. now, you felt bad, bad enough to have you pushing the gate open and crouching down to scoot along the melting ice towards him.
"y/n, i'll burn you. stay back," he wheezed out, taking immediate notice of your presence creeping closer to him. against your urges, you heeded his warning and remained planted in your spot near the rink's wall.
"what are you?" you couldn't help but ask as you watched more tiny spikes travel down the length of his spine.
sunghoon's green eyes tiredly met yours, then a small amused grunt tumbled from his lips. "what are you?"
sensing that he wanted a distraction from whatever it was he was going through, you found it in your heart to play along. "i'm a ninja turtle, duh," you proclaimed, pointing to the colored bandana tied around your head. "leo, i think," you mused, racking your brain for all names you could remember.
"you're donnie, y/n. he's the super smart one," sunghoon corrected with a fatigued laugh which quickly turned into a whimper as he winced in pain. your body screamed at you to crawl over and console him, but your brain won the argument and you remained seated.
"oh, well then i guess i should take that as a compliment since my friends threw this costume at me," you chuckled, gesturing to the props and clothing covering you.
"he's also kind of a nerd and hopelessly in love with a girl he can't have."
"there's always a catch, isn't there?" you sighed dramatically, leaning back on your palms. "well, i guess he and i aren't very different after all," you admitted, your face flushing even hotter than it already was. was this really how you were going to confess your feelings? in a melting ice rink with some sort of hot demon boy rolling around in front of you? the thought alone was absurd enough to pull a laugh from you.
"you like a girl?" sunghoon teased, and you soon found yourself wanting to use your staff to whack him with but decided he was already suffering enough.
"no, stupid, i like–" you cut yourself off before you could say it out loud, swiftly moving your attention to the watering layer of ice beneath you. "never mind."
you felt the air heat up even hotter for a split second before it suddenly died down, like a bucket of water had been thrown on the blazing fire heating the room up. taking a glance around, nothing seemed to have changed other than the cloud of smoke that had now moved to encompass the both of you. sunghoon pushed himself up with shaky limbs and began to crawl closer to you much to your surprise before dropping down right beside you with his head in your lap.
he was still burning up and the heat was highly uncomfortable, but the way that he instantly sighed in relief upon making contact with you had your heart doing somersaults in your chest. with a weary hand, you gently brushed the sweaty locks away from his forehead and allowed him to nestle his cheek into the palm of your hand. the blood rushed through your veins tenfold as little sparks of something ignited inside of your chest. there was no point in denying it now, it was inevitable from day one and you knew it no matter how hard you tried to deny your feelings.
you liked park sunghoon.
"you know," he cleared his throat, his eyes slipping shut, "i hopelessly like a girl who i can't have, too." you tried so hard to not stare at the sharp canines inside of his mouth as he spoke.
"oh please," you scoffed quietly, "name one person in this school who wouldn't throw themselves at your feet."
"you," he answered without missing a beat, a small smile gracing his lips as his eyelids fluttered back open to greet you with his glowing irises. "i wanted to take you to the dance, you know."
your mouth fell agape at the revelation, your brain turning to absolute mush as you tried desperately to form a single coherent thought. between the heat of the room and the heat of sunghoon's stare trained on your lips, you felt like you were mere minutes away from ascending to the afterlife.
you shook your head slightly to wake yourself back up, your brows drawing together slightly in confusion. "then why didn't you? you could've asked me before you asked jinha," you queried, finally able to collect yourself enough to speak again.
sunghoon scoffed, "did you not see the way you reacted to me when you thought i was asking you? i knew you'd reject me, it's kind of your thing."
"oh," you answered dumbly, busying yourself with combing his damp locks back away from his face as they insisted on falling down to cover his forehead.
"plus, jisung had already expressed that he wanted to ask you and it would've been shitty of me as his friend to ask you first." he sighed, pursing his lips as his gaze dropped back down to your own once more. "can we have a do-over?"
you blinked, your eyebrows shooting up in surprise. "right now? while you're like that and i'm like...this?" you gestured to his obviously exhausted figure laying in a heap before motioning to the ridiculous halloween costume you were sporting.
sunghoon shrugged, "why not? are you bad at dancing?" a glimmer of a challenge twinkled in his eye and you found yourself caving at an alarmingly fast rate.
"as a matter of fact, i am bad at dancing, especially on melting ice," you shot back, giving his shoulder a playful shove.
not taking your excuses, sunghoon began to push himself up to his feet and steadied himself before stretching his palm out to you. "you can just step on my feet then, come on," he smiled that same beautiful smile that you hated yourself falling for each time it showed. clicking your tongue defeatedly, you grabbed ahold of his hand and allowed him to pull you up onto your wobbly legs.
"one thing first," you paused before he could bring you any closer. "i want to know what's going on, sunghoon. what's happening to you?"
he let out a drawn sigh, glancing down at the scales covering splotches of his skin before turning back up to your concerned face. "it happens every time during this year. the lunar cycle makes everyone like me go haywire, though i guess i'm one of the lucky ones. not everyone can remember who they are during this time..." he trailed off before taking another deep breath, his voice shaking slightly as he declared his next words. "i'm a dragon, y/n."
you took all of ten seconds to digest the information before pushing it aside, instead stepping forward and nearly collapsing into sunghoon as your feet slid on the slippery ice. with quick reflexes, sunghoon caught you and brought you into a tight embrace until your feet were securely planted on the tops of his own. you'd have time to think more about it later, but right now the atmosphere was far too uncomfortable for you to give yourself a headache over it.
sunghoon's hands planted firmly on the dip of your waist whereas your arms found their way around the back of his neck, your fronts pressing flush against each other as he began to take small swaying steps that somewhat resembled a slow dance. your cheek found rest against the bare skin of his chest, and the once unbearable heat didn't seem quite so unbearable now.
"you're not hurting any more?" you asked softly, glancing up at him through your lashes as he continued to maneuver the two of you around.
shaking his head slightly, he smiled adoringly down at you. "not enough that i can't handle it any more. you took it away," he confessed with a hint of shyness crossing his features.
you pulled back just enough to look him in the eye properly, then your gaze drifted downwards to rest on his pink lips. "sunghoon," you whispered breathlessly, and as if reading your mind, he wordlessly leaned in and pressed his lips against yours in a gentle, perfect first kiss.
you slammed your locker door shut after gathering the materials you needed for your next class, struggling to hoist all the books up off the floor. suddenly, a pair of hands began grabbing a few of your books off the top of the stack and you followed up the length of the arms until you were met with the sight of an all too familiar face.
"this seems like deja vu, doesn't it?" sunghoon smiled warmly as you gathered the remaining books before straightening back up on your feet. gently, he placed the books back on top of your stack before turning to follow you to your next destination.
"thank you," you blushed, the heat rising to your cheeks amplifying as you felt sunghoon's arm snake around your shoulders protectively. "did you pass your portion of the project?" you asked, desperately trying to find a distraction from the attention being drawn to the two of you as you traveled down the hallways.
"i got a 96% so i'm pretty happy with it. how did you do?" he asked in return, never once removing his arm from around you until you stopped in front of the door of your classroom.
"i got the same," you smiled back, that expression only growing wider as he leaned in and planted a kiss against your warming cheek.
"good, i'll see you at lunch?" you nodded, trapping your bottom lip between your teeth to keep from giggling obnoxiously at the show of affection before bidding him goodbye and venturing into your class.
"y/n," yuna blurted out the second you'd sat your things down on the joined tables your three best friends occupied, "you have some major tea to fill us in on."
you sat down and watched as all three girls leaned in with eager smiles and twinkling eyes, and for once you found yourself excited to talk about sunghoon with them. you spent the entire class period filling them in on your newly acquired boyfriend, though you made sure to leave out the whole part about finding out he was a living, breathing dragon. the more you thought about it, the more ironic you found the situation to be. the school's ice prince turned out to harbor a creature inside of him that could easily melt the ice he skated on, and you'd watched that very scenario play out just a few nights ago. then, it slowly but surely began to make sense to you in your head.
it all explained the heat you'd feel whenever he was nearby and it explained why it seemed like he was always in that rink. the uttered confession of "i like to come here when i need to cool off" clicked perfectly like one of the many pieces of the puzzle you'd been trying to solve for weeks now. of course back then you'd assumed he meant it as a way for him to relieve stress, but now you saw that he meant it quite literally. it both amused you and made you feel a bit silly for having not read all of the clues so easily before.
"ugh, i'm so happy for you but i'm so jealous," ningning sighed heavily, dropping her chin into the palms of her hands.
"you have such a hot boyfriend, y/n," yuna agreed with a wistful sigh of her own.
"oh, i know," you snickered lightly to yourself. "i definitely know."

Apart from the adventurous (this is said loosely since one almost died) night before Christmas shenanigans, their trip back to Y/N’s place is pretty anticlimactic.
To any normal individual who has seen the mundane all their lives, it looked as if the group consists of a bunch of young adults heading home from a party that collectively decided to make a quick stop at a 24/7 open convenience store for a ‘light snack’ which holds some truth as they (minus Y/N) did come from a party, a rather tame one however, but a party nonetheless before leaving to fetch the damsel in distress who had found herself in a pickle.
The entire ordeal didn’t last long since they can clearly see that tonight’s rendezvous left Y/N exhausted that she barely finished half of the sandwich she shared with Sunghoon, choosing to lean on the latter's arm as she fights to stay awake. That, and the guy manning the store’s cashier didn’t look too pleased by the rowdy group’s appearance at this time of the night, so they took it as a sign that it was time to go.
Y/N now lays in the comfort of her bed, freshly showered and donned in her most comfortable pair of pajamas as she stares up at her ceiling, recounting the series of events that played out before she finally finds herself now safe and sound in her own home with a handful of supernaturals in the spacious living room getting ready to retire for the night.
It’s quite surprising that dinner with her parents wasn’t all too bad, though she did not appreciate the backhanded comment of her mother when she had mentioned that Y/N ‘looked better without the childish colors her daughter had taken a strange liking to’. Her father on the other hand decided to be a decent human being for once when he had put a stop to her mother’s incessant nit-picking to discuss their only daughter’s studies.
As pleasant it has been, even if he showed some level of kindness, more than what Y/N had received as a child, she knew it was the last time she’d ever see her father be this decent as he soon reverted to his usual air of sternness. Dinner went on without a hitch; it was the standard business talk where Mr. and Mrs. L/N would update Y/N on the status of their business, sometimes even explaining things as they are expecting her to take over someday and might as well give her a heads up.
Father fixes Y/N a stern look, "you're still our only child, Y/N."
"We're just preparing you for what's to come." Mother adds, regarding her with a stiff smile. "Speaking of which, are you seeing anybody?"
Needless to say, the sole L/N heiress was more than ready to head home with a slightly lighter heart.
That is until Minjeong drove her to the opposite direction of where her condo is, got hauled out of the car and thrown onto the demon’s shoulder before being tied down. So yes, not what she was expecting after a surprisingly decent meeting with her parents, but at least Death only managed a knock on her door instead of his usual ‘hey, it’s time and I’m here to pick you up’ and she’d rather not go through that ever again.
Scaring Y/N takes a lot of effort, being someone who isn’t easily shaken by the most mainstream of fears that are commonly seen in people, but tonight’s series of events were definitely enough to have her terrified for her own life because she absolutely felt helpless being bound by the ropes, giving her no chance of escaping.
To Y/N, being looked down by Minjeong while she held that absurdly large knife gave her a glimpse of what it might have felt facing Death itself and she was certain that she was going to die if it weren’t for her boyfriend arriving on time.
And she’d rather live long enough to finally tell her demon boyfriend that she’s absolutely in love with him.
Though Y/N assumed that Sunghoon probably sensed that already, being bound to her or whatever “side-effects” came with being spiritually bonded to a demon possibly gave him the knowledge before even Y/N figured it out by herself. Her feelings were never meant to be in the dark either. Anyone could tell just how besotted she is with her demon roommate that a person who says otherwise would be burnt at the stake because it was just so obvious that one couldn’t possibly deny it; and the fact that she was so close to losing Sunghoon earlier terrified her beyond words could even explain.
Watching Sunghoon taking continuous hits and blows sent her into a panic and when Minjeong had slammed him down hard onto the concrete, it almost had her running towards him, completely disregarding the transparent wall that kept them separate. If it weren’t for the combined efforts of Jungwon and Riki holding her back, who knows what could have happened if Y/N had touched the wall? Disintegrate maybe? Because it looked like it really hurt when Jake made the mistake. Jake, a demon who most likely bore the same magical signature Minjeong had, got hurt and Y/N can only conclude that it would hurt even more for a human like herself.
Y/N has always been aware of her own shortcomings, ever since the moment she was old enough to realize that how her parents had treated her was not normal. She’s aware of how strong she must have come off, showing her affections willy-nilly when it came to Sunghoon and it’s no secret to anyone who knew her on a personal level that Y/N wears her heart on her sleeve. She always had the mind to make sure anyone she encountered felt included in hopes that they would never have to feel out of place or alone, that they would never go through what she had growing up.
So she understands Sunghoon’s initial apprehension to her advances. Y/N never felt the need to shy away from expressing how much she adored the people she deemed to be precious to her and hearing Sunghoon’s confession the night they both laid in his bed brought her so much relief that she almost burst into tears if it weren’t for her immediately closing her eyes and cuddling closer, briefly wondering if the outcome would have gone differently if Y/N admitted that she loves him instead.
Because she does and he deserves to know how deep her loves runs for him.
See, Sunghoon was never vocal about his affections like Y/N is. He was the type to show how much he cared with actions alone, something she quickly took note of during their beginnings of living under the same roof because of Hell’s wackass laws. He wasn’t as vocal, yes, but Y/N felt how much he truly cared for her, even if he wouldn’t outright admit it and it was enough; It was enough for someone like her who never really experienced the love she had craved for.
Time and time again, Y/N had to remind herself to savor the time she has left with Sunghoon and not dwell on the thought that he will have to leave one day, taking her heart and her memories with him.
Though would the empty feeling linger even if she won’t even remember what caused it in the first place?
Y/N’s gaze moves towards her door creaking open, then lifting her head slightly when Sunghoon peeks in.
“Hi,” he greets sheepishly with a small smile, “sorry, were you sleeping?“
She returns his smile with a tired version of her own, shaking her head. “No. Was just thinking. C’mere.” Y/N gestures for him to come in.
Y/N sits up and pulls her legs up close to her chest just in time for Sunghoon to plop heavily onto the space in front of her with an equally heavy sigh. She giggles at this, admiring his lithe form resting his weight on the palms of his hands. “Tired?” She asks.
Sunghoon hums, tilting his head back with his eyes closed for a moment, “yeah, and a little sore.” He mumbles, but it’s loud enough for Y/N to hear as she responds with a coo. He opens one of his eyes at this, “quiet. I’m fine, little human. No need to patronize me.”
“Oooh, a little touchy tonight, are we?” She snickers. “Did Minjeong get under your skin that much?”
She earns a sharp look at that, “yes, you could say that and… you had to see me transform.” Sunghoon grimaces.
“Oh that? I thought it was hot.” Y/N shrugs, recalling how… bigger he looked in his monstrous state and the tentacles he had to back him up as weapons, she can’t forget that. “I don’t see the problem.”
“Right, I should have expected that reaction.” Sunghoon says under his breath, ignoring how warm his entire face feels after her compliment. “I think it’s the fact that she kicked my ass while in that state that pissed me off.”
Y/N hums, resting her chin on top of her knees, “she did kill 12 people for the temporary power up. Even Jay himself said none of them could beat her.”
“Yeah? Well Jay’s an idiot.” She raises an eyebrow at this. Is he… sulking? He must be; his lips are slightly pouted and he runs his fingers through his hair a little rougher than usual. “And I’m supposed to protect you, remember? Kinda felt like shit that I wasn’t able to this time.” The fact that his “dad” and Hell’s ruler had to step in to not further any more casualties kind of made him feel useless too. “And I almost lost you, Y/N. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if you died.”
Sunghoon appears distraught at the intruding thought, Y/N’s heart aching at the sight as she chews on her cheek, “but I didn’t and what happened to me was out of your control.” Y/N reassures, reaching out to hold his hand, giving it a brief, but reassuring squeeze. “None of us knew what was going to happen and for what it’s worth, you did manage to stop her before she could actually kill me. You did what you could and if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be alive right now.”
Sunghoon sighs through his nose, regarding her with a wry smile while squeezing her hand back, “ever the optimist, aren’t you, angel?”
“What? It’s true! You did save my life. It wasn't your fault tha Minjeong had a personal vendetta against me… and against Heeseung. for banishing” Y/N makes a face at that before shaking her head, “anyway, did the others settle in alright?”
He nods, “yeah, they’re all set up in the living room. Jay, Jake and Sunoo are in my room, the rest have set up in the living area and the girls told me they’ll be in your room once I’m done here.”
“Oh?” She perks up, “done with what?” Y/N grins, wiggling her eyebrows. “With me perhaps? You should have told me so I could have gotten myself ready for you.”
Sunghoon breaks into soft laughter at the sight of her blinking her eyes rapidly. To entice him maybe? Whatever her intention is with that, it only makes her look funny, yet adorable as a grin tugged at his lips from her giggling. “Will you ever stop being horny? I get that you want me, but I’m trying to have a proper conversation with my own girlfriend here.”
He doesn’t even react when she whines in a way that's reminiscent of a petulant child. He understands her frustrations; he understands it more than anyone else since he too is going through something similar, but until they have an actual talk about getting intimate with one another especially with the accompaniment of Sunghoon’s hidden extra appendages, he’ll suppress his carnal desires for now.
“It’s honestly so cute that you are so unaware of how gorgeous you actually are.” Y/N smiles sweetly as she scoots closer to him.
“Ah-ah, you aren’t going to charm me to get what you want, little human.” She pouts at the light scolding, “and I’m serious, we really need to talk.”
The word ‘talk’ automatically sends her into a slight panic, “you aren’t breaking up with me, are you?” She asks in urgency.
“What—Y/N, you became my girlfriend not too long ago, what the fuck, of course I’m not?”
“Okay, ‘cause I was about to cry.” And she attests to the claim by blinking rapidly to rid of the stinging moisture that is quick to gather in her eyeballs. “So what is it?”
“Have you decided on what you’ll ask for?”
“Oh my God,” Sunghoon hisses. Y/N just looks at him, unimpressed. “You are breaking up with me.”
Sigh. “I’m not, I swear. I just want to know what exactly it is that you want. Usually, a client will already have something to ask for once they have me summoned.” He clarifies. “It’s just out of curiosity as well. That, and to see if it will take the throne of being the lamest wish I’d ever get to grant.”
That seems to catch Y/N’s interest again once she was on the verge of spacing out, “first of all, I’m offended you’d think so boring of me.” Oh Sunghoon would never think so lowly of her. He loved how unhinged Y/N is, actually. It keeps things interesting. “But damn… you had lame requests too?”
“Unfortunately, yes.” Sunghoon remembered one time where a whole kid asked for twenty dollars in exchange for a precious robot toy that was given to the child by his own grandpa. He didn’t even wish for unlimited money. Just twenty bucks and that’s it. Though, it was a kid and ten-year-old kids weren’t that smart with money. “But please don’t get competitive and think of a lame one right now ‘cause it defeats the purpose of—“
“If I asked to get fucked by you, would you grant it?”
The words die on the tip of his tongue, forcing Sunghoon to stop and close his mouth. He opens it again to say something to counter that, but then makes a face before snapping his mouth shut again to recover from Y/N’s never-ending brazen streak. That, and he actually can’t think of anything concrete to say.
“I mean…” Sunghoon swallows, taking a few more seconds to gather his thoughts, “if—if that’s what you really want, then sure.” Guess a proper talk about sex with a demon and its probable repercussions are out of the window. “But isn’t that going to prolong the dry spell you got going on? Since if we do the do I’m gonna have to erase your memories.”
Y/N looks at him straight in the eye when she fixes him a glare, “and whose fault is it? And it’s a ‘we’ thing.”
He avoids her gaze then, “Right… my bad.” He mumbles.
“I was kidding. I don’t need to wish for that since I know how far gone you are for me.”
Sunghoon deadpans, “wow, you’re really laying it on thick on yourself, huh?”
There’s a playful smile tugging at her lips, tilting her head slightly, “I’m just telling the truth, my love.”
“Y/N, stop.” He warns, though she can clearly see just how endeared he is with the term of endearment when Sunghoon doesn’t look that annoyed. “Please, cooperate.”
“Ugh fine, serious Y/N here.” It’s sarcastic, the way she confirms it, but the human doesn’t make any more comments. “If I were to wish for, let's say, a hundred million won, which I don’t need since my trust fund probably has more than that.” Right. Money is definitely off the list of her possible wishes. “Would whatever I hold precious to me be enough for something as big as that? How would you even know if it is? My ‘precious thing’ could be a pair of old ratty Converse sneakers I’ve had since I was 16 and I don’t think it’s a fair trade.”
Sunghoon hums, letting himself fall back onto Y/N’s bed, “if it holds sentimental value, then yes, it would be enough.” Then he squints, turning his head to look at her properly, “it isn’t though, right?”
“Of course not.” She grimaces, “give me some credit, will you?” Her foot nudges his side, making him squirm slightly. Ah, he’s ticklish there. “How will you even know that it is my precious item? Let’s say I said it was my ratty shoes, but in reality it was the gold necklace my dad gave me last Christmas and I’m too much of a pussy to give it away to a hot demon that’s about to grant my wish. That, and what if it changes over time?”
“C’mon, little human, did you think we didn’t think of everything?” Sunghoon smirks from his position before he sits up again, this time raising a leg onto the bed so he can face her properly. “We have ways to find out whether our clients are being genuine with their claim of something being precious to them.”
“We can’t lie to you then.” Y/N concludes. “So what exactly do you have to do to 'find out'?”
Sunghoon doesn’t answer right away. Instead, his smirk widens while leaning forward, wide enough for Y/N to catch a glimpse of one of his sharp canines as he crawls his way towards her, “oh, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.” He mutters and Y/N squeaks as soon as her head falls onto the plush surface of her pillow, her widened eyes peering up at her boyfriend hovering over her and slotting himself between her thighs.
“Why so shy now, little human?” Y/N briefly glances at Sunghoon’s hand that rests beside her head to support his weight, only to look back and find him gazing at her with a smug smile, head cocked to the side. “Didn’t you want me like this?”
Y/N huffs, ignoring how warm she suddenly feels all over as her hand reaches up to move the hair away from Sunghoon’s face, “yeah, but warn me next time, maybe?” She tenses slightly at the sensation of his jeans rubbing against her skin. “Is this that demon thing that stopped you from kissing the shit out of me that one night? Do you do this with every client you have?”
Sunghoon promptly nods, chuckling as he lowers himself to the point where the tips of their noses touch, “Yes and no.” Y/N shivers at the brush of his lips against hers. So close. “I have other means of getting answers besides kissing and I just really want to kiss my human.”
“Yeah? Me too.” She hums, pleased at the weight of him nestling in between her thighs as her hands trail from his chest, then to his shoulders for her fingers to intertwine behind his neck, playing with the hair there. “So what’s stopping you now?”
He pulls away slightly to kiss her on the cheek, “always so chatty.” Y/N laughs under her breath at the feeling of the tip of his nose nuzzling her cheek. “You have so much to say, don’t you?” Sunghoon muses, his free hand that was previously fiddling with the hem of her shirt pushes the fabric up, exposing her skin and for him to grab hold of her waist. Y/N shivers under his touch and he has her where he wants her, “but that’s okay. I’ve always wanted to shut you up myself.”
And that he does. Sunghoon shuts Y/N up himself by kissing her square on the mouth and it elicits a sigh of content from the latter losing herself in the feeling of his incredibly soft lips. The racing thoughts she had before? Completely erased as all she can think about right now is SunghoonSunghoonSunghoon. Which is nothing new as he is what makes up her thoughts on the daily and tonight is no exception that it even hinders her from kissing him back.
She doesn’t even get the chance to because Sunghoon’s already pulling away, looking at her confused.
“What?” She giggles as Sunghoon’s eyes keep searching her face for whatever, “are you that blown awa—” But she never gets to complete her thought as Sunghoon pushes forward to capture her lips once again, cutting her off, and this time, Y/N is quick to reciprocate, her fingers tangling themselves into his snowy locks.
It’s desperate, the way Sunghoon is kissing her. Messy, teeth clashing as he nips and pulls at Y/N’s bottom lip and it earns an embarrassing sound out of her; a mixture of a moan and a high-pitched whine that spurs him on even further as his hand that previously held onto her waist migrated to settle on the small of her back, pushing for her to arch her back slightly.
Y/N can’t really put her finger on what exactly has him acting this way, but she would be lying if she says she’s not enjoying this side of him.
She parts from Sunghoon with a sharp intake of breath, but still keeping him very close, “Hoon—“ she attempts, but he doesn’t give her room to talk, not when he’s kissing her as if it’ll be the last time he’ll ever have her this close to him.
Sunghoon kisses her like he’s hungry, teeth still knocking and Y/N moans at the feeling of his slick tongue sliding against her own. It’s absolutely insane how muddled her mind already is, like she’s drowning in the sea of pleasure she gets from merely making out with her boyfriend and at this point, she’ll deem anything pleasurable from him; every slide of their tongues rendering her dizzy, him leaving searing trails on wherever his hands end up touching, the nips and bites Sunghoon attacks her lips with that will surely bruise—basically everything he’d give her and she does nothing but take and take and take.
And although she does like the haste in Sunghoon movements, Y/N tries to slow them down just for her to savor this moment of intimacy for as long as she’s able to, but she’s quick to surrender under his control and letting him set the pace as she relishes the way Sunghoon holds her jaw, whining when his thumb presses at her pulse point.
It’s hot. Y/N feels hot all over laying there with her eyes closed, catching her breath while the weight on top of her eases off and taking some of the warmth away with it. No words are said and the only sound Y/N can hear is the harsh breathing coming from Sunghoon, a tad subdued compared to her own as she pretty much had her mind blown with all of that.
It’s the fact that she hears absolutely nothing from her boyfriend that bothers her, a sinking sensation slowly forming in the pit of her stomach as she lays there listening to him shuffling around, still saying nothing.
Why isn’t he saying anything?
And by the time Y/N does open her eyes, Sunghoon is gone. There isn’t a single trace of him left except the warmth radiating from where he once sat in between her thighs.
a/n: man… Hoon didn’t even rearrange her guts before leaving her 🤡 and NO it does not end here calm down before crucifying me 😖

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: please do read everything on here thoroughly! I do regularly update this whenever the update schedule has changed or if I added new warnings and when new chapters come out of course.
𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐄: college au, social media au with occasional written parts, modern supernatural (?) au, “and they were roommates”, horror themes (but not really?), slice of life, mystery, thriller, light angst, fluff, humor and crack (you know the drill 🤣)
𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: y/n has little to no verbal filter (she’s kinda crazy... and dumb), Sunghoon is tired despite not needing sleep, swearing, dirty/inappropriate jokes (you have y/n to blame mostly), light sacrilege, light blasphemy (idk what to say except this is a smau abt demons) if you wish to proceed, read at your own discretion. I’ve laid out what you’re going to expect already.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: ENHYPEN, Aespa's Karina, IVE's Wonyoung, TXT's Yeonjun and Soobin and brief appearances of other idols.
𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐒: on-going

𝐀/𝐍: this is for all the monster fuckers out there!! /hj there will be some world-building in this and i hope there is as just as much plot like before 🤩 keep in mind this is all fictional and none of this represents the idols in real life. Also any info about the occult/supernatural may not be accurate and some elements here are my own interpretations and/or twists hehe.
