Day 13 [Daniel/ Raju/ Aligula]

Prompt: "...Always something more important"

Daniel

This ate at Daniel, always having to run off. And in the middle of dates no less. So when he saw you gathering things in your shared apartment, he couldn't blame you for what you were doing.

"Pie, listen." Daniel wasn't trying to get in your way at all, "I know this has been a lot. And that you deserve someone who can give you more of their time. But-"

"I don't want to hear it, Danny." You were fighting back tears, "If it was just work I'd understand. But this seems to be everything. It isn't just that work is more important, I knew what dating a police officer would mean, what it would be like. This is everything else."

Daniel stopped, still holding onto one of your scarves, "What do you mean?"

"It seems that everything from spots games, to whatever you're doing on the computer, to even your brother's problems... no matter how big or small an issue. It just seems like there's always something more important than me."

"Pie..." Daniel tried to grab your hand, "C'mon Pie, you know that's not true..."

"No, I kinda don't." You started walking for the door with your suitcase in hand, "And its a little too late for explanations now."

Raju

This was strange, to say the least. Raju was certain he knew where your apartment was. And yet, the window was closed and there was no sign that you were even still in this apartment building.

Had something happened? Were you evicted? Was it just getting too loud at night?

Raju managed to find you by some miracle, unsure why you wouldn't tell him if something was going wrong. He wanted to help after all, as much as he could.

"[Name], what happened?" Raju floated down beside your car, "I tried to return home but the window was closed, and it looked as if you moved."

You let out a deep sigh, "Raju, I just... I can't handle the long stretches of alone time. I understand why, I just. It comes off as you always having something more important to do. So I closed the window myself. And... packed away most of the knick knacks."

Raju reached out to touch your shoulder, upset when you drew back.

"[Name], I don't know what to tell you. My work has always been dangerous and learning to share my life with someone else is... its not something I've done before."

You looked at him, this had to be the first time he's ever shared anything about his past. At least, anything concrete that wasn't training or the past... 20-something years. Though, you didn't even know how old Raju was so who knows what counts as recent history for him.

"My kind aren't exactly known for creating familial units the way humas do. We only ever spend time together for sexual interactions and the occasional feast. But if you're telling me that you need me to be around more often, then I can attempt to do so. It won't be easy, but I believe it will be worth it."

Raju still didn't have a filter when it came to speaking his mind, but there was a kind of sweetness to his words. It was still difficult to justify him being gone for 8 months at a time, though if you used that summoning method as a reminder...

Aligula

Aligula was hunched over a large paper, plans for another pass at Deldro and Hummer. Her thoughts had flown right out the window when she noticed Klaus on the television a couple of days ago. And no matter what you said or did, she wasn't budging in the slightest.

"Lily, tell me something I don't know." You propped up on your elbows, "What's so special about this guy? Like why are you going after him when you have me right here?"

"Becaaaause!" She whined, "I was dating Deldro first. And then the million and one chances of finding Hummer, with his perfect face to just die for fell right in my lap. I neeeed them back in my life."

You sighed, straightening up, "They're always gonna be more important huh?"

Aligula didn't even register what you said. Nor did she know that you'd left until after her defeat. She spent a good three hours looking everywhere for you, but all she found was a small note.

"Always gonna be second best, aren't I? You'll always have something more important to do..."

Day 15 [Steven/ Daniel/ Raju]

Prompt: "You can't be here"

Steven

This night couldn't have gotten worse if Steven tried. You had stumbled into his workspace, and seen things he didn't want you to know about. Every part of his mind was screaming to have this cleared up, that this was wrong and you needed to leave... but all that came from his mouth was...

"You can't be here."

Despite the tone of Steven's voice, it still pulled you from the sight of a dead body. Frozen with a strange look on their face. You managed to tear your eyes away. You didn't feel anything, your mind and body felt numb, as if they weren't yours anymore.

"[Name], you can't be here." Steven repeated, "C'mon, you need to leave, right now."

Steven couldn't make anything out about what you might be thinking. His worry mounted higher and higher as you just stared back. Was it possible you were just shell-shocked? Steven had all but forgotten what that could look like after years on the job, years in this city.

"[Name], say something."

Steven gently shook you by the shoulders, upset by how cold you were. A soft sigh escaped the dark-haired man, this would torment him to no end. But for now, Steven lead you away from the scene. Carefully hiding your face from onlookers and whispering soft promises to relax once you got home.

Daniel

Having ignored his phone all day, Daniel just waltzed into your apartment without thinking about it. When he found you in the kitchen, he didn't understand why you were suddenly smacking him. He felt so very confused as he fended off weak slaps from you.

"What!?" Daniel held your wrists out so the most you could do was wiggle, "What did I do?"

"You can't be here right now." You whined, "I'm planning something. I sent you so many texts telling you not to come straight here. You were supposed to meet me at your place."

Daniel blinked a little at you, "What for? And no, I haven't checked my phone for hours."

You kicked at Daniel weakly, pouting even as he let go of your wrists.

"Though that does explain why it smells so good in here." Daniel was trying to smooth things over, "Maybe I just stick around and we act like this was the plan?"

As much as you wanted to stay upset... "You're lucky you're cute. And that it's your birthday."

Daniel just stood there for a second. Was today his birthday? Did he really forget about that? Geez he needed a full day off.

Raju

Whatever you were doing in this city, Raju felt it was too dangerous for you to even live here. That couldn't be more true at this moment as you were stuck in the middle of a fierce battle.

If you had been a fang hunter, then Raju would be okay with it a bit. Being a fang hunter would give you plenty of skills to protect yourself. But you had no way of really doing anything except fighting like a scared animal.

And that just wasn't enough for Raju.

You shielded your face with both arms from the sudden fire in front of you. Whatever the creature was, it was a pile of ash now. Raju seemed to drop out of nowhere right in front of you, scaring the people right behind you.

"You really can't be here [Name]."

Raju was trying to pull you away, getting a very brave teenager attempting to fight him. While he could have defended himself with fire, you caught the wooden plank. It seriously hurt, but you were a bit faster than Raju for a second.

"It's fine," You tried to shake the pain out of your hand, "He won't hurt me, he's just stubborn and forceful."

Raju was both surprised that you could react so fast and upset that you got injured on his behalf. To the point that he was stopped in the street to check over your hand. Part of him wanted to attack the teenager, but Raju knew that would upset far more people than would be acceptable. Especially upsetting you since you had been trying to help protect these people in the first place. Though focusing on the splinters in your hand was a little comforting to him.

Day 18 [Zapp/ Zed/ Raju]

Prompt: Broken bone

Zapp

"Holy f&^k!" Zapp skid to a stop next to you, unsure what he was even looking at, "What the sh^t happened to you?!"

"You tell me smarta$$!" You bit back, looking at your own armbone like this was harrowing, "I mean honestly, it isn't rocket science!"

Zapp couldn't help but panic. Not only were you down for the count but you were losing blood fast. Even in the semi-paralysis, he felt his instincts took over. Wrapping your arm, trying to straighten the bone and hope that it would be sealed enough for someone to completely fix later on.

That did not stop him from pacing and thumping his foot whenever told to sit down. He needed to know you'd be okay, even if that meant you were stuck in a cast for a few months.

Zed

Zed checked his phone over and over. This wasn't like you at all, even if it was a simple emoji, you'd have answered his texts by now.

It wasn't until his phone buzzed loudly, nearly causing him to drop it, that Zed finally got his answer. You had been rushed straight to a hospital for several serious injuries.

Once he was in the room with you, Zed finally asked what all had been going on. Why would you need to be rushed in like this?

"I have several hairline fractures and one massive chip in my lower leg." You had to take deep breaths, "Everything else is just minor by comparison."

Zed shakily moved a chair over, "Elaborate. Please, for my sake."

"A couple of bruises along my spine and my shoulder joint popped out of place." You tried to move your arm as a demonstration, but Zed stopped you, "Literally everything else is minor cuts and scrapes. I promise."

"As long as you also promise not to over do it."

"I'll make no such promises..."

Zed frowned at your attempt at humor. But at least you tried to make light of the situation.

Raju Comes back after a long while and is stunned to see a cast and crutches

Another long time spent away from you meant Raju had no clue what to expect when he landed. Even so, seeing you all but boxed in on the couch was not something he thought he'd see... ever.

"And what happened?" Raju's voice made you jump, you hadn't heard him land, "Why is your foot up on the table? Why is it wrapped like that? Who did this to you?"

Your head dropped, it was an embarrassing story for you to repeat.

"First of all, I did this to myself... sorta." You turned toward Raju only to follow him as he hopped in front of you, "Second, its just a broken bone in my foot so I have to be extra careful with it."

"So what happened that you broke bones in your foot?"

Raju didn't know how to interpret the grimace across your face. But he wasn't going anywhere until you answered him... And you knew this.

"Well..." You really didn't want to tell this to anyone but... "I was helping Mrs. Orif bring her large dog in because it was about to rain. And the dog was tugging on the lead a bit too hard, half dragging me. So when my foot hit the concrete stairs... all my weight on the bone... it kinda went... snap"

Raju let out a grumpy sigh. Of course, you'd just have to go help someone else and get injured in the process. Though he had to concede if Mrs. Orif had tried to do so herself then the dog would have likely broken something more than a foot. But that was beside the point! Raju was still deeply upset that you got hurt at all. And refusing to let you get up without him hovering at your side. He would make sure you were safe until your foot healed.

Day 24 [Zed/ Lucky/ Raju]

Prompt: Missing limb

Zed

While Zed had always known humans to be very resilient, at least the ones he worked with, he wasn't prepared to see you in the hospital for something like this. He wasn't even sure if humans could bounce back from this. Losing a limb was usually too extreme.

And yet, despite Zed tailing you all day after you were released from the hospital, you proved him incredibly wrong.

Outside the motioning to use the left hand that was no longer there, you were adjusting to the missing arm fairly quickly. At least, that's how it seemed at first.

"Ow."

Zed stopped, looking at where you were. Though you had only bumped into the doorframe, Zed was by your side in an instant.

"What is it?" He was checking for what could have possibly happened, "What hit the doorframe?"

You were embarrassed to admit to this but... "Nothing. I just, I remember how much it hurt to knock my wrist into this doorframe. And because of how close I am to the edges, I had a little phantom pain."

Zed blinked a couple times, "Is... is that a common thing?"

"I don't know. It just happened though."

Lucky

No matter how many times Lucky saw you, the fact that you were missing an arm never quite set in for him. Sure, part of that was the low-grade prosthetic you wore, but you didn't wear it all that often around the apartment. Not that he ever looked at you with anything other than love. The look that on so many others felt like pity, felt like sympathy from him...

"How does this look?" You stepped out, wearing a loose jacket over your tank top, "Should cover up my arm well enough, right?"

Lucky had a small frown, to you he looked like he was thinking up a critique to say. Though, without a word, he walked closer, gently pulled the jacket off your right shoulder, and kissed at the squishy tissue just above the attachment base.

"Blitz!" You smacked him playfully, "That doesn't answer my question!"

"I know." The older man sighed, looking you in the eye, "But you shouldn't have to cover it up at all."

You couldn't help but look away, "It isn't that I have to do anything. I just hate how people stare. How they treat me when they know..."

"That's what I'm saying." Lucky tucked your head under his chin while he hugged you, "You are an amazing person. And you shouldn't need to cover up anything just because others can't see that. I'd stop them if I could."

"Blitz..." You nuzzled against his collarbone, just letting yourself feel normal. Because that's just how Lucky treated you... normal.

Raju

Landing in the window, Raju was looking for you instantly. This was completely normal for him to do, but when he saw you perched on crutches... his heart almost stopped. At first he thought he was just not seeing something, as if your leg was just up in front of you or something.

But no.

When you turned and Raju could see that you just didn't have your right foot or any leg under your knee for that matter, he felt dizzy.

You had to figure out how to drag Raju into your shared bedroom while on crutches. He had taken one look at you and fainted, but you weren't in a position to really carry anything. Part of you was dreading when he would wake up. This would not be an easy conversation.

It was dark by the time Raju finally stirred. One look around the room and he understood what must have happened. Staring at the glint of the silvery-grey crutches by your side of the bed, Raju didn't want to believe his own memories. But, quickly flicking the covers up proved it was all true. It also woke you up.

"Raju, can you not?" You reached for the covers to pull them back, "It isn't good to have sudden chills on the scars."

Raju lowered the covers, smoothing them out over you.

"Why are you scarred [Name]?"

"I was caught in the middle of something a little over a month ago." You yawned, dangerously close to falling straight back to sleep, "I passed out before I could even think. And woke up amputated because my leg had been severed by... something."

As much as Raju wanted to poke you awake for a better telling of the story, he knew not to do so. Not only would you be too pissed at him to tell him the full story, but you likely didn't know half of what was really going on.

But his students certainly would know.

Day 28 [Steven/ Zed/ Raju]

Prompt: "They wanted the monster they made..."

Steven

There had to be another way around this, there just had to be. Steven was currently watching you tear through people mercilessly. As if they were made of paper instead of flesh and bone. This was not like you, not in the slightest.

"[Name]!" He reached out, trying to grab your arm, to stop you if he could, "Please! This isn't like you!"

Steven's blood felt like pure ice as you turned to face him. It wasn't you looking back at him right now. He didn't know who you were in this moment.

"Steven, darling." Your voice was much crueler sounding, like when you tried crooning a villain monologue for laughs, "They want the monster they made. They asked for this and I'm happy to give them what they want."

You turned, pulling away from Steven, "Especially when I can finally ensure no one else has to suffer the way I did."

The grin on your face was sickening. A twisted contortion of ideals and morals that normally wouldn't even be possible for you.

And Steven knew it.

He latched onto your arm again, roughly tugging you back, "[Name], Amor. This isn't you." Steven made you look him in the eye, "We can figure out something else. There has to be another way to go about doing this. One where..."

You squinted at the sudden pause, "Go on, say it."

"One where you don't let them win!" Steven was desperate at this point, "Doing what they want you to do, being what they made you into. It's just letting them win. And I don't want to lose you [Name]. Not like this."

Zed

How could one human be this destructive? Was this even possible? Had you simply been holding back all this time? If so, why?

Had you been actively hiding this strength for a reason?

Zed couldn't take it anymore, he had to do something. Standing back and watching you sling these creatures, most of which were easily five or six times your size, around like rag dolls was getting out of hand. You were getting out of control and Zed needed to know why.

"[Name]! You have to calm down!" Zed just barely managed to grab your arm, yanking you off course a little, "Before you bury us in this building."

The chill of Zed's touch got to you quicker than his words did. As you looked down at his hand, the words mulled over in your mind. You knew he was right, it didn't take deep introspection to know Zed was right about the situation. But part of you didn't care, part of you wanted this. Deep down, you wanted to give in, to let loose on the people who wronged you.

You wanted to let your destructive tendencies run absolutely wild, just once.

"Zed," Your voice was low, not precisely ominous, though it was extremely close, "They want the monster they made. All this chaos, they brought it on themselves. And no one can change that."

There was a tense moment between the two of you, both looking the other dead in the eye. You moved first, stepping away from Zed.

"Not even you can change what I am."

Raju

None of this made any sense to Raju. Yes, he knew you had been captured by a blood breed when you were a child. He even knew you had been subjected to very dangerous procedures during that time. And while all of this information had been second-hand, being things you told him personally and not something he learned before he started dating you. Raju still had no idea what all that monster truly did to you, for you to be this vicious about slaughtering its underlings.

You were dead set on repaying the blood breed's cruelties ten-fold. Tearing through the lower-leveled monsters with ease. It would have been terrifying, had it not been Raju with you. He found this display of power to be very reassuring.

Because it meant you weren't a blood breed at all.

A deep, raspy breathing filled the silence as you regained your composure. Raju had been a little blind-sided by the sudden, violent outburst. All the chaos and destruction you were causing only solidified the fact that you would answer to no one. All the while, Raju just floated there, eyes clearly on you... though his face was as unreadable as ever.

"They wanted the monster they made, Raju." You started to explain, "I don't--"

"You're no monster [Name]." Raju cut you off as he floated closer to look you in the eye, "Hurt and upset perhaps, but not monstrous."

You couldn't understand this, you couldn't keep looking at him. Instead, you turned away. Though Raju wasn't having that in the slightest, he tugged your chin back to face him. Looking deep into your eyes, even though you still couldn't read him at all like this.

"We can easily show them why they never should have messed with you." He said, "And we will make them regret having laid even a single finger on you. I promise."

Day 30 [Steven/ Zed/ Raju]

Prompt: "I'm used to it"

Steven

This just rubbed Steven the wrong way. Being a first-hand witness to the discrimination you faced on a regular basis, or well, a semi-regular basis. And all because you had a tiny bit of Beyondian DNA. It was hardly noticeable after your surgery.

So what if you had a few feathers growing alongside your hair now? Steven thought it was absolutely beautiful. And the only reason anyone could see it was how you styled your hair. Was it really fair to you? Having to constantly do just the smallest things to "look human"?

Steven had half a mind to freeze the whole building and just the building. Until you tugged on his sleeve, trying not to pull him completely given the scene.

"Steven, please don't." He really didn't like the look on your face, "I'm used to this. It'll be fine."

He let out a tired sigh. Hearing that you were already used to this stung him a little. It wasn't fair, nothing about this situation was fair. All of it weighed on Steven's mind and his heart, especially with how upset you seemed.

But maybe he was just used to being surrounded by Beyondians...

"Amor," Steven cupped your cheek, "Perhaps we should find somewhere actually worth our patronage. What are you in the mood for?"

Zed

Zed groaned as softly as possible, he hated that you were being pulled into such low-brow insults because of him. Part of him couldn't help but feel as if there was a hint of merit to what the other humans were saying. It was possible you only dated him out of pity.

You could do so much better than him after all...

Though he still didn't want you getting hurt on his behalf. Tugging you back gently to hopefully avoid this altercation from escalating to blows. Zed would never live it down if you were injured for something this stupid.

"[Name], please." Zed urged, "Now isn't the time for this. I'm certain there's better places than here."

You half growled, before snorting at the woman blocking the entrance. Sure, Zed was right. That didn't mean you had to be okay with how people treated him. It wasn't right for them to judge on appearance...

"I still don't like how comfortable they were," You grumbled, "Calling you a 'walking fish' and all that. Completely uncalled for."

Zed let out half a chuckle, "You may be right, but it'll be okay. I'm used to this sadly. One of my coworkers won't stop with bad fish puns against me."

"Where does he live?"

"[Name], please no. Don't start anything."

"I wouldn't be starting anything." You pouted playfully, "I'd be finishing it."

"And possibly getting injured in the process." Zed moved slowly as he put an arm around your shoulders, "And I'd never forgive myself if you did."

Raju

Raju was about five seconds from torching several individuals for their rude comments. It was one thing to insult him, but once they started bringing you into the discussion... Raju was ready to fight. While he knew he was technically a Beyondian, calling you names was uncalled for.

"Raju, c'mon. Please?" You tugged on his cane, hoping to just pull him away like a balloon on a string, "I'm used to being called a monster smoocher. It's fine."

"It is not fine!" He protested, "One's love life shouldn't mean anything to others! You're a huma after all! They can't just attack you like that because of me!"

While you did manage to pull him away, some, you couldn't help but sigh. Raju had zero filters and no concept of romance, so it never failed to shock you when he said genuinely romantic things. But you had your own ways of returning the favor. Namely by sneaking a kiss on the side of his helm.

Though, before you could say anything about him being a sweetheart by saying that... Raju started ranting about you kissing his helm. Tapping his cane and essentially throwing a little hissy fit.

Still kinda adorable though, you couldn't lie to yourself about that.

Day 31-4 [Raju/ Femt/ Aligula]

Prompt: "You know what you have to do..."

Raju

Staring at the strange cube in his palm, Raju turned the object over and over between blood threads and his hand. In all his years, he'd never seen something so simple yet so very complex. Was this supposed to be a device for children? It certainly was colorful enough to suggest so.

"You know what you have to do with that," You spoke up, "Right?"

"... Peel the stickers?"

"No, you..." You let out an exasperated sigh as you plucked the toy from his hand, "You twist it gently like this."

"Why though?" Raju stared intently as you handed the cube back to him, "What purpose does this serve?"

"It's a puzzle." You sighed, "The point is to figure out how to put all the little squares of the same color on one side. A pattern-based logic puzzle."

After several silent moments, Raju huffed in frustration.

"What kind of demented huma made this!?" The click of the toy furiously in his hands, "There's no way this is a game! Let alone one made for children! This is a convoluted torture devise!"

You giggled a little at him. You understood his anguish all too well. After all, you'd owned this Rubik's cube for years and still haven't solved it yet.

Femt

Femt was a tad bit grumpy after rescuing his dearie from the boring goodie-goodies known as Libra. They had mistaken your appearance in the background of his broadcast for him having kidnapped you for some nefarious purpose. They genuinely thought he would hurt you.

PFFT! As if!

You were his muse, his inspiration, his consort if the mood was just right. But you would never be his victim or plaything. Femt had far too much respect for you to even begin to entertain such a nonsensical notion.

"Femt sweetie!" Your voice rang through the shared apartment, "Don't make me come drag you out of your lab! Dinner's ready!"

It was almost like he had a teleportation device in his pocket because Femt wasted no time draping himself off your shoulders. Soft yet possessive kisses pressed to your shoulder, invisible marks across the love of his life. One that he never imagined putting in the effort of going to find.

"You know what you have to do later, right?" You nuzzled his forehead gently, "Afterwards?"

Femt pouted a little, "If you're implying the dishes then no. I had to save you from those sticks at Libra, so fair is fair."

You chuckled, "No, not the dishes. After that."

The blush rising on his face made Femt so cute. His embarrassed babbling over what would happen after dinner had you both giggly and excited.

Aligula

An annoyed groan escaped Aligula. You had jumped in front of her to save her life. But now here you were in the hospital because you lost an arm and a leg in the process. It ticked Aligula off to no end. This so wasn't fair!

"Lily dearest," You smiled tiredly at her, "You know what you have to do, don't you?"

Huffing as she sat on the side of the bed, "All I know is I have to get used to one arm hugs now. And it is just the most unfair thing ever!"

"Or..." You tried containing giggles over how adorably she pouted, "You could make some custom prosthetics for me."

There was a slight silence over the room. Aligula hadn't thought about that at all. And while the hugs would be nice and tight, she wasn't convinced.

"Please, sweetie?" You batted your eyes, "I know anything you make would be so much better than what anyone else could make. We could paint them hot pink so everyone knows that I belong to you~"

You certainly drove a hard bargain. And sadly, Aligula couldn't resist that playful tone. Or the compliments you gave. Or your cute face...

"Alright, alright!" She caved. "But only cause you're so cute, babe."

Christ, it was one thing after another around here. Zapp could really use a good night out drinking. But you'd probably bail again. That damn dish cloth has been hanging around a lot lately. Helping Libra take out threats of all things.

That didn't make a lick of sense.

Zapp couldn't remember the last time he'd had a conversation with you, or even texted... But a quick peek at his phone made him stop dead in his tracks.

Nine, no damn near ten months. Wasn't that about how long the old rag had been in town? Why in the hell did this feel like an omen? He should just call and see what's going on.

Before Zapp could press the button, he spotted a familiar face across the park. At least, he thought it was you. There was a baby stroller in front of you and a large dog at your side. If that even was you to begin with.

"OI! Crazy!"

You turned, the only person who called you that was Zapp after all. And since you'd decided... well, a lot of things, you hadn't seen him at all. So naturally, he didn't know about Wisp or little Gloria. Though one was far more noteworthy than the other.

"Hey Zapp." You said.

"Hey? I haven't seen you in a f-!"

"Don't cuss in front of my daughter please." You cut him off quickly, "I don't want her picking up your worst habits."

"DAUGHTER!"

"Yes, chill." You had to lean over to lift Gloria out of her stroller. It was clear she would start crying from the sudden loudness, "Or I will sick Wisp on you."

"Wisp? You mean this mutt?" Zapp pointed at your pet, "I'm not scared of this flea bag."

"You should be." Zapp looked up at the descending form of his 'Master', "He's been trained. And he's a far better fighter than you."

Twisting his head back and forth, Zapp could see the slightest resemblance between the toddler in your arms and the floating dishcloth on a stick. But, no... surely not.

"[Name], don't tell me you actually decided to have a kid with this sadistic homunculus." Zapp pinched the bridge of his nose, "Let alone him training your dog."

"Wisp is a wolf." You corrected, "Someone decided that I would need more protection while pregnant and brought home a young wolf."

Raju refused to make eye contact, turning his attention to Gloria. Presenting the little baby with a new little trinket. A large, colorful plushie with visible stitching, a clear sign Raju had made himself.

Zapp however was rubbing his mouth and chin, "So he's been sticking around because you were pregnant with his kid?"

"Well, yeah I guess." You shrugged, "Though it's been a learning curve for him specifically. He's never been around toddlers before. Or anything younger than about ten years old."

"Of course..." Zapp half growled, "And you're just... okay with this? I mean, he'll probably want to train her to be a fighter or some sh-"

You stomped Zapp's foot to keep him from cussing, but it was Rjau who spoke up.

"I will do no such thing!" He protested, "My daughter won't have a need to touch a weapon at all. I refuse to let such a thing happen."

"Oh really!?" Zapp turned his snarl to Raju, "And why should [Name] and I believe you, huh? After everything you-"

"Stop!" Both froze stiff, turning to you and the scowl across your face, "Look, I know you don't wanna hear this Zapp. But Raju has been nothing but a sweetheart to me. The best relationship I've had in my whole life. So stop antagonizing him for your own amusement."

"You don't know what he's capable of!"

"Neither do you." You glared at your buddy, "But I know that Raju has been very gentle, sweet, and loving towards me. I know that he has been trying to be a good partner."

You took a step toward Zapp, causing him to back up a little, "I know that Raju has been doing a lot of things to make things as easy as possible for me and Gloria. So just stop trying to turn me against my husband."

Zapp felt his spirit leave his body for a second, "Hold on, husband!?"

Holding up your left hand and showing Zapp an absolutely stunning ring had him opening his mouth like a fish. He couldn't believe it, he didn't want to believe it. How could you... how could Raju... Why would you go this far??

"What in the world?" Zapp finally managed a croaking voice, "Where did you even get that ring?"

"Raju made it himself." You said, "He's made a lot of things. Like this stroller, the crib, the bassinet... pretty much anything that could be made of wood and metal. Well, some things made of metal. He's even been dabbling in stitching."

Zapp's eye twitched, so this dirty sock does have a kind side. Raju however was trying to figure out how to vanish. He wasn't expecting you to start bragging about his handiwork. Though he was at least a little happy that you thought so highly of these things. It still flustered Raju to hear you say it out loud.

"Just when were you gonna tell me you were getting hitched to this..."

"I don't have to tell you everything about my life numbskull." You frowned again, "Especially when I know you'll try everything in your power to stop me."

"Did you choose to have a kid before or after?"

You sighed, "A bit of both really. We were a little drunk, talking about where we thought life would take us. Ended up on the topic of kids and I mentioned what getting married meant. Overall and to me, and a few days later we started talking about it while sober and..."

"Okay, okay." Zapp held both hands out in front of himself, "You don't want me cussing in front of your kid, so maybe keep it pg-13, yeah?"

Raising one eyebrow, you chortled a bit, "Oh, suddenly you don't want to talk about someone's personal life, eh?"

"You picked up on his bad habits." Zapp jerked a thumb at Raju, "I really didn't need the mental image of you getting 'a little drunk' with him."

No One to Blame [Raju x Reader]

Raju should have known better than to lay in the middle of the floor, especially with your new pet kitten being curious about everything. He was exhausted though, and one little furry menace was the least of his worries. What he really needed to be worried about was you carrying hot cocoa.

It wasn't that you even tripped on him or his cane, you stubbed your toe on the side table. Throwing both mugs of cocoa right in Raju's face, and all over the kitten who became wild claws. Scratching the slightly tough skin around Raju's shoulders as it tries to run off for cover.

Your head popped up quickly, "Ah! Raju! I'm sorry!"

He groaned in response, "When I said I wanted cocoa, this wasn't what I meant."

"I know. I'm sorry. I..."

Raju was up in a flash, his attempt at sarcastic humor didn't land at all. Putting his arm around your shoulders, he tried explaining it. But that didn't work either. While he couldn't be sure, there was a feeling in the back of his mind that part of this was just a ploy to get him to shower with you. Not the throwing hot cocoa on him, he was certain that had been an accident.

But maybe, just maybe this was an act to get closer to him. But he didn't have a choice, he couldn't properly wrap his shoulders with all the cat scratches.

Raju Head Cannons

He uses his blood threads to keep his body tucked away under his robes (Yes! I'm still personally salty af about that. He shouldn't be able to fit under there!)

^ He also uses a small, steady stream of Windweaver to keep floating (since we've seen that he doesn't use blood appendages like we've seen Zapp do but it's been said by Zapp that he can do so)

He gets bored easily, especially with modern entertainment

Though it is debatable if he's Greek, Egyptian, or Mongolian (given his aptitude for fighting and seeming love for violence and training)

He can't spell at all, English isn't his first language (obviously)

He won't hear a word about being "cute" and he will shake random papers at his partner with crayon scribbles in the vague form of charts (to map your cuteness)

Older cultures revered him somewhere between a demon and a god

While he does have a voracious sweet tooth, he also loves spicy foods (especially spicy seafood he prefers shrimp and crab)

He doesn't like keeping weapons of metal or wood, but he does still study them for his personal use in fighting

He will sit still long enough to watch movies about war and fighting (both to critique fighting style and to see what he can use for himself)

Children of Libra AU: Gloria (his daughter) is only a a few months younger than the boys and is one grade beneath them (Adam develops a little crush on her and its torture for Zapp)

Day 4: "Stay, please" [x Raju]

Raju floated in the middle of the living room, taking in what you said while you panted heavily. This wasn't his idea to begin with, he had no clue why he was even here at the moment. Sure, Raju had lived with humas before...

But not one quite like you.

The thing was, he wasn't completely used to someone wanting his presence, concerned this deeply for his safety. All things considered, love wasn't something he contemplated. Especially not for himself.

But here you stood, breathing hard from yelling at him for how reckless he was in battle. Telling him off for being gone most of the year, despite promising to visit more often. Promising to show up for the holidays...

Raju didn't know how to feel, but one thing rang clear in the silence.

"Why do you keep coming back? Just leave!"

But Raju couldn't move. He wanted to stay, he truly did. There was just so much he needed to get used to, things he never thought about with his huma family. Things that never once crossed his mind.

The tears still streaming down your face made walking difficult but you made the attempt to march off anyways. After all the waiting around you did this past year and a half, you just needed a nap... with or without Raju's answer.

Before you could pass through the hallway...

"[Name], wait." Raju had a blood thread attached to your sleeve, tugging you back as carefully as possible, "Stay, please?"

"I'm going to bed." You grumbled, voice drained of emotions post-outburst, "That's all."

"I'll join you."

It wasn't exactly a command, there was a hint of plea in Raju's voice. But he probably could have asked instead of...

"Whatever."

You trudged into your bedroom, why should you care that he was following you anyway? Flopping onto the messy spread, you burrowed under a fluffy blanket and tried your best to ignore the floating half-man you were supposed to be dating.

Its not like you could tell anymore.

Raju didn't need sleep however. Instead opting to just hover there, watching over you. One slender hand, his only hand left after everything he'd been through in life, caressed your back slowly. He could at least help ease you to sleep.

That didn't stop him from mumbling under his breath though, "I'm sorry [Name]. I know I can't keep using the same excuses. You don't deserve to be left alone for months on end, not by someone like me. If you still want me gone, I won't fuss. I just want to know you're okay... I'm sorry I hurt you with all this..."

Even half asleep, you couldn't deny how badly you wanted to forgive him. But all you could manage was grabbing onto his cane before dozing off.

Day 6: "Your bedhead is really cute" [x Raju]

Waking up in a house was still a new feeling for Raju, even if he knew where he was and what was going on. He was a little too used to waking up in caves or trees, being on his own was far more common given his life span. But there was something deeply appealing about how you looked with your hair spread out across the pillows.

Gently trying to brush it around, looking for your face and reveling in how soft your mane was; Raju sighed in contentment. This was so weird, in a good way.

But his musing was cut short as your eyes opened. He drew back slightly as you looked around, not wanting to admit that he was doing anything. All the soft moments were embarrassing to him. Raju didn't think being this soft, even with his partner, was a good look for a warrior like himself.

"Morning hon." You yawned, "How did you sleep?"

Raju only hummed in response, weary of saying too much, or the wrong thing.

"Anything specific you have to do today? Or are you going to hang out?"

"I haven't a clue yet." He mumbled, "But your bedhead is really cute."

You stopped, blinking. Raju saying weird things was normal, but random compliments were still strange to hear. Not that he ever insulted you... after the two of you started dating at least. But he still blindsided you with these kinds of statements.

"But... I... I haven't even brushed my hair yet." You tilted your head, "I... it's all puffy and tangled."

"Its still very adorable." Raju admitted shyly, "And soft..."

Looking around the room, you tried to find a reason Raju would say something like this. Sure it was nice and typically normal in other relationships... but this wasn't a normal relationship. That was one of the reasons you were with Raju.

However, his straightforward nature meant anything he said was not only exactly what he thought... but it was usually true to some degree. Which only meant there was no arguing with him when he said randomly sweet things like this.

Day 21: "I love you so much, more than you know." [x Raju]

Why did he have to be right?

Why couldn't he have helped you keep it under control? What was the problem? It wasn't like you had ever been vicious or violent or cruel or anything of the sort before you'd become a blood breed.

And yet here you were, fangs bared unable to contain your blood lust. Going after anything and everything with a pulse. The other fanghunters had to be called in, and they were hardly a match for you.

The tormenting phrases of Zapp fell on deaf ears, Raju knew he had been wrong, he knew you had fully succumb to the curse, to the evil within your heart.

He just didn't want it to be true...

As you tossed grown men, each nearly double or triple your height, as if they were made of fabric; Raju fought himself. He couldn't bring himself to hurt you, he'd become far too attached. But at the same time...

Was this even you anymore?

You still looked like yourself, same voice, same eyes, same everything he'd fallen in love with. But still... it wasn't you on the inside.

"How the f*&k are they an elder class?" Zapp yelled, "What the hell did y'all do to get this result?"

"Zapp!" Klaus roared, "Now isn't the time for that! Leonardo! Their Name!"

The poor boy was trying, you moved way too much, way too fast for him to keep up with. Even with the All-Seeing eyes. Each time he thought he had a glimpse of your true name, it shifted. This wasn't normal, but then again...

You weren't making this easy for anyone.

Raju had to act. He knew what he could do... that he may very well be the only one capable of stopping you at this point. Or maybe you'd only calm down for him... though that was wistful thinking.

"[Name]," Raju barely spoke loud enough for anyone but you to hear as he floated closer, "Please, listen to me."

He was more than capable of keeping you from tearing out his throat, without fully attacking you... yet.

"I love you, so much." His voice was growing thick with all the emotion that had numbed him moments before, "More than you, or anyone else will ever know. I love you... and that's why I have to do this. I'm so sorry."

The echoes of your screams still haunt him no matter where he goes...

Day 22: Dancing in the rain/ snow/ falling leaves [x Raju]

Wandering in the woods was quite relaxing, Raju floating by your side. Neither of you were doing anything specific, though Raju did have a few pouches for various mushrooms and wild herbs. He just couldn't pass up the chance to gather extra.

The way the fall leaves fell around you had Raju distracted. Just how pretty the reds, yellows, oranges, and even crunchy brown leaves looked swilling around you in the light breeze had him mesmerized.

This wasn't a normal feeling for him.

Tilting your head, unaware of how many leaves were falling down your hair. Unaware of how cute you looked.

"Is something wrong Raju?"

He jolted a little, "No, no. You just have leaves in your hair."

"Hm?" You started combing your fingers through your hair, "Where?"

Raju tried stopping you, not realizing that you were expecting him to remove them. He just wanted you to keep the leaves in your hair.

"Did I get them all out?" You asked, "How many--"

"Uh, no. You just look..." Raju didn't want to admit it but... "You look really adorable with them settled in there."

The silence as you and Raju blushed at each other was a little tense, especially with Raju not looking at you. He already admitted the nice, sweet, romantic thing... why was going on with the walk so difficult?

You glanced around the area, spotting a slightly open area, "Wanna dance?"

Raju's head popped up, still confused but now over the offer to dance. He wasn't sure how or why you'd dance in the forest but... His bony hand slid into yours, for once letting you lead him around. Though he was pleasantly surprised that you weren't doing any kind of formal huma dances.

But he couldn't stop himself...

Using his Windweaver to scoop leaves up and swill them around the two of you; Raju felt his heart speeding up. You just looked stunning to him, leaves falling all around, catching in your hair as you smiled. He couldn't help himself, gently spinning you around and letting go for a moment.

Just to enjoy the sight of you, as if you were trapped in a fall-themed snow globe. Either his heart had stopped beating, or he was far too lovestruck to notice how deep he was falling for you... every time he spent time with you...

Day 28: "Don't make a promise you can't keep" [x Raju]

He was late, again. You were stuck sitting at home, waiting up far too late for someone who clearly wasn't as interested in this relationship as you were. Instead of putting yourself out, you headed to bed. No note to explain, just a plate of food in the microwave because you knew Raju was on his way.

Landing lightly in the living room, Raju wondered why you weren't up. It wasn't that late, surely it wasn't. But as he floated through the house, the only trace that you had been up, or even home was a plate of food. The last place he would check was the bedroom, but given how otherwise quiet the house was... Raju was a little afraid of what he might discover in there.

Trying to shake this feeling of dread, Raju opened the bedroom door. He eased up once he noticed you were the only figure in the bed. But he was puzzled as to why you went to bed.

And why were there tissues on his side of the bed?

Lacking any tack or self-awareness, Raju gently prodded you awake. Only just being able to make out the tearstains down your face as you rose, turning to look at him with one of the most bitter looks across your face.

"[Name], what's going on here? Why did you go to bed so early? I thought--"

"You're just late. Not everyone can stay up till midnight and go to work on three or four hours of sleep Raju."

You sounded far more bitter than you looked. It left Raju feeling like he was dealing with a wild animal, not his lover.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize." He settled onto the bed, "I'll try to--"

"Don't make a promise you can't keep." You huffed, laying back down, facing away from him, "Cause I don't want to hear it."

Raju wanted to argue, he wanted to force you to accept what he said. But even he knew you were right. He'd said things like this before... lied like this before. But he still meant to try and be a better partner to you.

Actions always would speak louder than words though...

Day 30: "I'm not the villain..." [x Raju]

You were dodging some peculiar people lately. It was quite unnerving to see such tall men trailing you all the time. For the longest time, you couldn't help but wonder why they were tailing you, to the point you'd called on Raju just about as soon as you noticed them.

"[Name]?" He landed lightly, perching on his cane, "What's wrong? Why do you keep calling me back here?"

"The tall red and black-haired men behind me."

Raju glanced and sure enough, he recognized the two men following you. Though why they would was also beyond him, you weren't much of a threat after all. Unlike most blood breeds you kept to yourself and barely drank blood.

Of course you didn't even realize you were a blood breed, outside of the fact that sunlight seemed to hurt. But when you complained about it, it was never 'I turned into a vampire.' and always 'I'm just suddenly allergic to the sun.' It was completely weird to Raju how someone could be so disillusioned by their own turning.

Unfortunately, Raju kept forgetting to warn Libra of the peaceful blood breed... that he so happened to be dating...

"I'll have a word with them." Raju squeezed your shoulder, "Don't worry."

You nodded, while the situation at large made you a little uncomfortable, you knew you could trust Raju. It would simply be a matter of time before all this was sorted out.

As you sat at home, pondering why for the millionth time, Raju floated in the window. He seemed rather annoyed, if he had legs he'd be stomping around. But before you could ask, Raju was practically sitting in your lap. It was thoroughly strange.

"There are several things I must tell you [Name]." He huffed, "In order for you to understand why those two were following you."

Nodding, you listened to what felt like an entire history class's worth of information. Raju had long since told you that you were a blood breed, or what you considered a vampire. But the way he explained it, you were starting to feel uneasy, Raju was telling you how he hunted creatures like you.

It made you wonder why you were any different.

"[Name], I'm not the villain of your story." Raju gently brushed your cheek, "I know I've hunted other blood breeds, how I've treated them might make our relationship seem tainted and strange. But I'm not the villain of your story. Of theirs, most certainly, but not yours."

You looked off into the middle distance. Trying to make odds and ends of... everything. But your mind was wholly blank. You didn't know what to think, or if you could continue to trust Raju.

But, he wasn't anything like what he'd described himself as. He never seemed to be a fang hunter around you... and... it didn't help that he was your only real source of comfort.

Klaus

The second largest (just behind Dog) and the one with the least amount of flight response. His knuckleduster is just a discarded cross necklace that he found. Very protective of the other Speed Monkeys and won't hesitate to rally the rest of Libra to help with things.

Steven

He has to constantly find something to activate Esmerelda Blood Freeze, though it has such a limited range that he's more effective just kicking his opponents... No one knows that the excess shadows tailing him are actually his goon squad. Only really loyal to and protective over Klaus.

Leo

The smallest little monkey and the one who is constantly and consistently in trouble the most. Squints mostly because of all the sand that gets in his eyes until he found a pair of toy goggles to wear.

Zapp

Lil terrorist. Sets fire to a lot of things without activating his blood technique. Usually causing trouble for everyone (especially Klaus and Leo) and gets pissed when little kids call him a "Shiny". But will do whatever you want for enough bananas.

Zed

The calmest of them all, but that's because he's a hybrid of Speed Monkey and Sea Monkey. Can breathe both air and water without equipment and has little issue swimming versus jumping (though he hates running with wet fur). He will not hesitate to use his blood trident (especially to snag food from far off).

Chain

The most silent of them all, always sneaking around and getting things she wants. Has a massive stash of broken, shiny junk hidden in a little alcove very well hidden from prying eyes.

Dog

The largest and sweetest little monkey, except for Deldro being his blood. Usually very popular with small children because of his tame demeanor as he is always getting petted and given treats. Up until Deldro pops out... with his background being very similar with Aligula meshing the two together through (whatever method she was able to do)

Gilbert

A very skinny monkey, also a hybrid with natural regenerative abilities. Has looked after Klaus since he was young and keeps up with a small, abandoned playhouse for the Libra Monkeys to gather at. He manages to find all the best food (but almost forces everyone to share if it weren't for Klaus being just as stubborn about that).

K.K.

Constantly throwing things that look like guns at people to protect other Monkeys. Keeps up with a large brood of Monkeys as her family, and Libra as a secondary family. As soon as she finds/ makes 'working' guns, she just keeps up with a ton of rocks to fire.

Lucky

One of the most serious Monkeys, always carrying a toy suitcase full of scraps of paper from different restaurants so he remembers where the best dumpsters are. Goes all over the city and only occasionally runs with the rest of Libra.

Daniel

Annoyed by all the other Monkeys and tries to avoid them... doesn't work at all since he gets into a lot of trouble. Just grumpy all the time and grumbling whenever he has to play nice with Libra.

Raju

Vicious Monkey, will not play nice... unless you have food. He fights all the time and has lost feet from having to escape traps. But he still has blood abilities to keep moving and stealing food. Doesn't associate with Libra much... but has been around Zapp and Zed enough to teach them how to survive.

Femt

An actual little terrorist trying to cause as much chaos as his little paws can. Can and will bite people, even if given food. Has no problem with releasing all the animals in shelters and pet shops.

Aligula

Constantly stalking Dog and being a little terrorist about it. High-speed races through the city trying to get him. She knows how to rig machinery and work vehicles.
