Day 13 [Daniel/ Raju/ Aligula]

Day 13 [Daniel/ Raju/ Aligula]

Day 13 [Daniel/ Raju/ Aligula]

Prompt: "...Always something more important"

Daniel

This ate at Daniel, always having to run off. And in the middle of dates no less. So when he saw you gathering things in your shared apartment, he couldn't blame you for what you were doing.

"Pie, listen." Daniel wasn't trying to get in your way at all, "I know this has been a lot. And that you deserve someone who can give you more of their time. But-"

"I don't want to hear it, Danny." You were fighting back tears, "If it was just work I'd understand. But this seems to be everything. It isn't just that work is more important, I knew what dating a police officer would mean, what it would be like. This is everything else."

Daniel stopped, still holding onto one of your scarves, "What do you mean?"

"It seems that everything from spots games, to whatever you're doing on the computer, to even your brother's problems... no matter how big or small an issue. It just seems like there's always something more important than me."

"Pie..." Daniel tried to grab your hand, "C'mon Pie, you know that's not true..."

"No, I kinda don't." You started walking for the door with your suitcase in hand, "And its a little too late for explanations now."

.

Raju

This was strange, to say the least. Raju was certain he knew where your apartment was. And yet, the window was closed and there was no sign that you were even still in this apartment building.

Had something happened? Were you evicted? Was it just getting too loud at night?

Raju managed to find you by some miracle, unsure why you wouldn't tell him if something was going wrong. He wanted to help after all, as much as he could.

"[Name], what happened?" Raju floated down beside your car, "I tried to return home but the window was closed, and it looked as if you moved."

You let out a deep sigh, "Raju, I just... I can't handle the long stretches of alone time. I understand why, I just. It comes off as you always having something more important to do. So I closed the window myself. And... packed away most of the knick knacks."

Raju reached out to touch your shoulder, upset when you drew back.

"[Name], I don't know what to tell you. My work has always been dangerous and learning to share my life with someone else is... its not something I've done before."

You looked at him, this had to be the first time he's ever shared anything about his past. At least, anything concrete that wasn't training or the past... 20-something years. Though, you didn't even know how old Raju was so who knows what counts as recent history for him.

"My kind aren't exactly known for creating familial units the way humas do. We only ever spend time together for sexual interactions and the occasional feast. But if you're telling me that you need me to be around more often, then I can attempt to do so. It won't be easy, but I believe it will be worth it."

Raju still didn't have a filter when it came to speaking his mind, but there was a kind of sweetness to his words. It was still difficult to justify him being gone for 8 months at a time, though if you used that summoning method as a reminder...

.

Aligula

Aligula was hunched over a large paper, plans for another pass at Deldro and Hummer. Her thoughts had flown right out the window when she noticed Klaus on the television a couple of days ago. And no matter what you said or did, she wasn't budging in the slightest.

"Lily, tell me something I don't know." You propped up on your elbows, "What's so special about this guy? Like why are you going after him when you have me right here?"

"Becaaaause!" She whined, "I was dating Deldro first. And then the million and one chances of finding Hummer, with his perfect face to just die for fell right in my lap. I neeeed them back in my life."

You sighed, straightening up, "They're always gonna be more important huh?"

Aligula didn't even register what you said. Nor did she know that you'd left until after her defeat. She spent a good three hours looking everywhere for you, but all she found was a small note.

"Always gonna be second best, aren't I? You'll always have something more important to do..."

Day 14 [Leo/ Zapp/ Chain]

Day 14 [Leo/ Zapp/ Chain]

Prompt: "This is killing you!"

Leo

The frown Leo had was becoming a bit too pronounced for your liking. Sure, he knew you were a more reckless kind of person, that your skills are basically why Libra kept sending you off to do dangerous stuff. But he could see the curse you were keeping under wraps. He promised to keep it secret but...

"This is going to kill you [Name]!"

You really wished he wouldn't have started this in front of everyone, "I'll be fine Leo. I've survived worse."

Leo almost growled, making Klaus worry and intervene.

"[Name], is everything alright?" You were getting trapped into revealing this, "Is there a deeper injury you haven't told us about?"

"No, I'm perfectly fine Klaus." Though you weren't so sure of that yourself in all honesty, "Its just this last time was a bit much and I've been limping a little on sore heels after relaxing for so long. Its nothing I haven't dealt with before and Leo's just over exaggerating."

Leo frowned harder, if that was even possible, and started tapping his foot, "So sue me for being worried. I can't help it."

.

.

Zapp

You didn't like sitting in the hospital listening to Zapp flirt with the nurses like this. But you also didn't have the courage to say anything about liking him as more than a friend. So self-torment it is.

Though the way you were crossing your arms and scowling wasn't lost on Zapp. While the two of you weren't involved, you were roommates and had been friends for what felt like an eternity. He knew when you were pissed over something.

"What's eating you this time Nacho?"

You clicked your tongue, "This is the fifteenth time this month you landed yourself in the hospital Peño."

"So what? No one said you gotta show up every time ya know."

The glare you gave him made Zapp recoil a little. But he wasn't going to back down from this. Yeah, he liked the company, but he didn't need you to stick around like this all the time.

"Well spit it out already."

"This is gonna kill ypu one of these days."

"So? Why do you care?"

"Because I love you Dip Stick."

Zapp sat there blinking, but the steadily deepening red across your cheeks was no mistake. He hadn't stopped long enough to think about you like that, given you were so stubborn about genuine relationships and all that. Friends sure, but Zapp knew what you wanted from a relationship didn't match his life style at all.

"Not like it'll ever matter." You stood up to leave, unable to take the silence, "Still hurts to see you like this all the time. Knowing your job will kill you if some random chic doesn't get to you first."

Zapp was too dumbfounded to stop you or keep flirting with the nurses checking on him.

Chain

Chain finally answered her phone after what her boss explained to you. Having to find out through third degree like this was bad enough. But for her to up and almost wipe out her existence to the point where you wouldn't even remember her at all was too far.

"Chain here."

"What the hell?" Your voice was absolutely cracked from emotional strain, "I called like a dozen times and had to ask your boss where you were!"

"Okay, first off, I'm sorry. I should've told you about the emergency mission I was needed for." Chain waved her hand down as if she were talking to you in person, "Second, I wasn't going to go that far. It was close, but I pulled out at the last second--"

"THAT DOESN'T MATTER!" You were beside yourself with how calmly she was talking, "THIS JOB IS GONNA KILL YOU IN THE WORST WAY POSSIBLE!"

"[Name]!" Chain tried breaking through your rant, "Its fine! I had the situation under control. Please, calm down."

"CALM DOWN? CALM DOWN!" You screeched, "YOU EXPECT ME TO CALM DOWN? I ALMOST LOST YOU AND WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE MEMORIES OF YOU! DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!"

Chain sighed quietly. The best thing she could do was wait for your anger to ride out on its own. And hope that you'd let her make this up to you with a night in. Some Ghibli movies and no phones type of thing.

Gems [Klaus x Reader]

Gems [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 🔮

Klaus stood, blinking in the late evening sun. His eyes couldn't be deceiving him. Standing in front of him was a person with shiny, crystal-like hair, it was almost completely translucent at that. Though he couldn't be certain if they were ultimately friend or foe, he couldn't mistake the fear in their eyes.

He felt so very guilty about scaring them. Despite having just saved them from a blood breed.

"Pardon me." Klaus tried to make a good impression at least, "Are you alright?"

"Uh... yeah, I think."

Klaus tilted his head a bit, "You aren't hurt are you?"

"No..." You said slowly, "But I don't know if you're going to try anything either."

Klaus backed up several feet, hands up in surrender, "No! no, of course not! I would never! I simply haven't seen anyone like you before, though that isn't a bad thing. I uh..."

Klaus cleared his throat, "My apologies, I'm Klaus von Reinherz. And you are?"

"Blue Topaz." You covered your mouth instantly, "Uh, please forget I said that, call me [Name]."

Klaus raises a single eyebrow, "Is... is your true name Blue Topaz?"

You shuffled your feet, slowly nodding. Klaus didn't know what to think about this, but you had asked him to call you something else, something that sounded more human.

"Its a pleasure to meet you [Name]." He slowly extended a hand, "If I may ask, why do you keep that a secret?"

"You see, I'm not human." You shakily met his hand, "And people tend to hunt me... and my kind, for the purpose of making jewelry and decorations."

Klaus's eyes widened, "You needn't fear me doing that. I promise. Though, I do worry. Will you be okay?"

"I don't really know. I'm very far from home you see." You moving your hair like that produced several soft clink noises, "And I wouldn't know how to get back either. I've never actually seen a human before..."

~~~~~
It was difficult for Klaus to think about how that interaction was so long ago. How much time genuinely passed, how much he spent with you.
Part of it was due to your natural fighting skills, becoming an indispensable part of Libra certainly influenced how much the two of you saw one another. The rest was Klaus's natural curiosity and steadily growing attraction towards you.
He seriously hoped that he wasn't acting creepily, or worse forcing himself onto you. Though it was more him trying to hold your hand than anything else.
You found it a little patronizing to be touched so gently. As if he were treating you like glass instead of a gemstone. While you couldn't fault him entirely, it was mildly annoying to be treated so delicately. Especially when you had been a prized warrior in your own time.
Though you were starting to piece together what happened. An anomaly had thrown you back in time. For what purpose you didn't know. It wasn't like there were any ancient gems in your time, nor any old folk tales. For all you knew, this was a displacement of space AND time.
Humans were much warmer than you thought they'd be.
~~~~~

Zapp was standing in the middle of the office, freaking out. One bad trip and you were laying across the floor, completely shattered. A million thoughts flew through Zapp's head. How would he cover this up? He could just throw all the pieces in the trash... But then Gilbert would see it and Chief would have his a$$ on flambe.

He could always play up that they tripped, no one would know. Right? There wasn't proof it was his fault after all. But they were out in the open, nothing in sight for them to trip on.

*ding!*

AAAAAAAAAAA

"Oh calm down." Zapp jumped away from where your voice came from, "Just scoop up what you can and put me in that little empty can. It's the one by Klaus's desk."

Zapp didn't think, just piled all of your fragments into the bucket. Your face was mostly in one piece, and this was probably the furthest from the strangest injury you'd ever had.

Klaus however... he looked ready to faint. If he didn't outright murder Zapp for causing this. Though the process to piece you back together was fairly straightforward. It was just a painstakingly slow process as Gilbert was the only one capable of fitting the splinters together properly.

Not to say Klaus didn't try to help, just that his efforts were less than helpful. Though he was both beside himself with worry and completely absorbed in admiring just how pretty every fragment looked. Almost like a clear night sky in mid December, right at twilight.

He both adored that and abhorred the fact that he was seeing it.

Though this happened every time you fought. Or just about every time at least. Klaus couldn't handle seeing you like this, even if it was perfectly okay. He worried. Especially that he wouldn't be able to truly express his feelings... not when the fear of breaking you with a hug was all too real for him.

Day 22 [Steven/ Zapp/ Femt]

Day 22 [Steven/ Zapp/ Femt]

Prompt: "I'll be fine"

Steven

"[Name], Amor, please. Enough!"

Steven's pleas were falling on deaf ears, you knew he was sick. You didn't know how he caught a cold this severe in the middle of summer but then again you didn't know what his job was either. So it was highly likely that the two were related.

Well, that, his intelligence, and the suit all made you think he had some kind of job in a research facility. Possibly one that dealt with dangerous chemicals or new-found illnesses. But you would never know. Probably. Maybe. He might crack if you managed to get him drunk without you.

"[Name]! I'll be fine!" Steven whined.

"And I'm gonna take a leaf out of your book by simply not listening to you and stubbornly take care of you no matter how much you protest."

Steven huffed, but accepted your help. He just didn't want to bother you with his problems. Even if it was just a head cold.

.

Zapp

Seeing Zapp laying in a hospital bed just didn't sit right with you. He had thrown you out of the way, taking the brunt of the damage. You didn't even know why he did it. Just a day prior he told you how much he didn't want you around anymore.

And you hesitated to enter the room where he was in. Uncertain if he wanted to see you after what happened. Though you couldn't say no to Klaus trying to assure you that Zapp would want to see you after that. But you still had your doubts.

It felt like you were being trapped in the room alone with Zapp. Though he was still his normal bull-headed and aggressive self, at least with everyone else. It felt like you were getting ignored the whole time. Yet you felt rooted to the tile floor. That was until you were the only person left with Zapp.

"You're being quiet, what gives?" Zapp grumbled, "Shouldn't you be yelling at me to be more careful or something? Or pissed that I stole your glory?"

"I don't know how I feel." You shuffled back into the corner, "I thought you weren't going to... since we fought..."

Zapp sighed, "One little fight isn't gonna stop me from wantin' you around. Honestly, you don't gotta stay all the way over there."

It wasn't easy to move closer to Zapp's bed. But you managed to sit next to him.

"Look, I'll be fine. I rushed in there because I didn't want you gettin' hurt." Zapp broke the silence, "But that doesn't mean you can just shut the hell down until I'm outta here. Don't make me flirt with the nurses in front of you."

You rolled your eyes, "As if I could stop you."

.

Femt

You stood there tapping your foot and staring at Femt, a large tentacle protruding from his back. It wasn't helping that Femt was giggling as if this was what he wanted to happen. He was just being his usual nonsensical self.

"Femt, just... why?"

"Oh don't worry about me, dearie. I'll be fine." He sighed dramatically, "Besides, this will wear off soon enough."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"Why not?"

You sighed, shaking your head. This man was always doing crazy things like this. But he rarely hurt himself with these experiments. You just had to endure his new appendage being just as weird and clingy as Femt was.

Day 10 [Leo/ Zapp/ Chain]

Day 10 [Leo/ Zapp/ Chain]

Prompt: Worst way to find out a man has cancer

Leo

The look the cashier gave the two of you was interesting, to say the least. Two young men buying a pair of pregnancy tests was understandably questionable. But considering both you and Leo were slightly drunk, it went completely unnoticed once a second glance was given. Taking pregnancy tests just seemed funny to both of you.

Yet, by the time the two of you woke up with a slight hangover, Leo checked the tests himself. Concerned when neither one matched the other.

"Uh, [Name]."

You poked your head into the bathroom, glancing up and down to try and see what the problem was from a distance.

"Do you remember which one was which?"

"Uh, no." You scratched your head, "I barely even remember taking those. Why?"

"One of them shows up pregnant."

You stopped mid-step, blinking in disbelief, "We should probably go to a doctor and see if that means anything."

Leo sat next to you while Dr. Estevez explained what it even meant, she agreed to see both of you at the same time since they couldn't tell her whose was whose. After taking a second test, Leo felt a strange sense of disbelief.

How has he not figured this out sooner? He spent so much time with you after all.

.

Zapp

Being far less drunk than you, Zapp managed to talk you into taking a pair of pregnancy tests. Though when you found them on the bathroom counter, you freaked out a bit. One of the tests had shown two lines.

This was bad. So very bad.

"Zapp!"

A loud groan from the bed as springs creaked, "Wha..??"

"Which is who's?"

Zapp scratched at his hair, rubbing his eyes to see better. Blinking a couple times in the bright lights.

"Uuuh, this one was yours I think."

"Think or know?"

Zapp half glared as your panic was taking a minute to sink into his slightly hungover brain. He closed his eyes to think clearer.

"The one on the left was yours, stud." Zapp sighed, "What does it even matter?"

"I gotta go to a doctor."

"Huh?" Zapp broke from his stupor in an instant, "What for?"

.

"I read it somewhere that this is a sign of cancer. Something about the hormones or something in pee. I can't even remember where I saw it nor any of the details."

As badly as Zapp wanted to scoff and dismiss this, you were a bit too panicked for it to be easily brushed off. And he'd be lying to say he wasn't worried himself.

Chain

Normally Chain found your drunk antics cute, especially since she could handle her liquor just a little better. But when your dare was to take a pregnancy test, and then it showed up positive...

Chain freaked out.

That was enough to sober you up some, though you didn't know why she was freaking out like this. It was just a weird thing these tests did, wasn't it? After all, you were a guy no way you could get pregnant.

Actually in this city...

But you never did anything to have even a remote chance of that. Right?

Regardless, you submitted Chain's insistence on going straight to Dr. Estevez to explain what happened.

And that's when the bomb dropped. You had testicular cancer and somehow this stupid little piece of plastic had picked up on it.

At least Chain's reaction made sense now...

Day 23 [Klaus/ Steven/ Daniel]

Day 23 [Klaus/ Steven/ Daniel]

Prompt: Worst way to find out your girlfriend is pregnant (time skip)

Klaus

Staring up at Bradbury General, Klaus had too much on his mind. He knew why today was so monumental, but even after the dust settled, there had been no sign of his beloved. She had been with them that night and had rushed in to save lives from the same dog that trapped the patients in cocoons. Yet there was no sign of you anywhere.

Had you been in one of the cocoons? Was this just a matter of waiting a little longer? Klaus felt he was going crazy just thinking about it. Until Dr. Estevez asked him for a blood sample.

"Might I ask why?" Klaus was thrown for a loop, "Is there something wrong?"

Dr. Estevez smiled a little, "It's just a protocol for a DNA test. Miss [Name] is certain about who the father is, but I brought up a DNA test for other problems that might have occurred during the Collapse."

Klaus blinked rapidly, muttering under his breath, "DNA test? Father? ???"

"I take it that neither of you actually knew about the pregnancy before the Collapse?"

"Not in the slightest," Klaus admitted sheepishly, excitement growing as he followed the small form of the doctor, "I'm afraid that this is a complete surprise."

.

Steven

The aftermath of the Collapse left Steven reeling. His beloved hadn't shown up in almost three years. The last he saw of you, Steven was almost certain you were dealing with the early symptoms of pregnancy. But now he was second-guessing the whole problem at large. You might have been dealing with some kind of illness brought on by the first stages of the Collapse.

But there was nothing about the situation that made complete sense. Steven couldn't help but try to guess where you might be. Until there was a news broadcast about a recently reappearing building in the middle of an abandoned lot. It was the small clinic Steven had insisted you go to visit.

Klaus didn't even bat an eye as Steven stormed out of the office, both knowing why he was peeling out in his car. Racing to the building before you even had a chance to step out into the new city.

Steven looked around, scanning the crowd for you. He jumped when he saw a woman who did look like you... but there was a small child on the woman's hip. But that was the only person that even looked like you, but Steven couldn't have been right about you being pregnant... right?

"Steven!?" He turned, it had been you, "Are... Is that..."

"You were...?"

Steven didn't get to finish his question before you hugged him tightly. He tried to stop from shaking, but he just couldn't. Looking at the small child you were carrying, he looked very much like Steven.

He wouldn't be able to deny that this was his child, but Steven finally managed to pull away. So many questions needed to be answered, and the time missed had clearly been critical. And this would take quite an adjustment period.

.

Daniel

A deep groan escaped Daniel, checking his phone for the millionth time. Knowing that there wouldn't be a new message from you. He desperately wanted to have some kind of response, even if it was just an angry one.

The cryptic message of "There's something I need to tell you face to face" haunted Daniel for the past three years. What was he missing? What could you need to tell him that couldn't have been said over text?

"All units, we have a 3-83 in progress. I repeat. A 3-83 at the corner of Youna and Judic Street."

Daniel didn't want to get his hopes up. A building coming back after all this time was likely, even somewhat normal. But he didn't even know if you had survived the Collapse.

Not that thinking like that helped Daniel any, he hated the idea that he had completely lost you like that. Without even a single goodbye...

His efforts in comforting the survivors and giving them enough information to cope in this new version of their home was all he could do. It was his job as a police officer. But, his efforts were almost instantly rewarded as he found that one of the last people he had to talk to was... you. And a small child you claimed was...

No. No! That couldn't have been... You hadn't been... Right?

Daniel tried swallowing his nerves as he approached you, "Pie, you're okay. And you had a... uh... kid."

"Yes, I know she's yours, Danny." You adjusted your little girl to the other hip, "How have you been holding up?"

What was with this light, coffee shop talk? You two hadn't seen each other in three years. But you were acting like you had only been gone for a week or two.

"I..." Daniel cleared his throat, "This city has changed Pie. I tried to change with it but..."

"Eliza and I aren't going anywhere any time soon Danny." You smiled a little, just plain relieved to be back around familiar faces, "So there'll be plenty of it to adjust."

Daniel barely met your eye, "Yeah. Yeah, there will be."
