THE OPENING SEQUENCE WITH THE STUPJD DOG. Dogs don't act like that a dog would NEVER AUGGH NOT EVEN EXAGGERATING FOR COMEDIC EFFECT IM SO DONE
Just creating non problems for the main cast to have Conflict is my biggest pet peeve !!
I get it its """funny"". It would've been funnier if the dog wasn't even menacing and Luigi was just THAT scared of a harmless dog he panics and messes up

I will admit. I liked the family scene, it was done pretty well imo.
How they discover the magic pipe is, kinda fun. Don't remember if they resolve the Water Crisis later or not, but I'll see !!

The Between when they're going through the pipe... confuses me? Why did they end up in two different places if they went through the same pipe. Mario logic isn't logicing!!
It would've been better if they went through different pipes.
I LOVEEE THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM THo i love how beautiful and inviting they made it.
Wish they weren't a coward and used toads real voice, but hey, the one they did wasn't that bad?? And got across the point while not being annoying (imo)
The dry bones bit was fun, and I like how the darklands trees are square like and windy

The obstacle course is a really fun bit, however, feels very drawn out and like we could've gotten more screentime doing other things than watching Mario boyfail again and again. There's a lot at stake and they're just... doing this. Can't he learn on the job???
Mario hating mushroom bit bad. Maybe they could've executed it better?? Idk just felt like a haha wouldn't it be funny if rather than an interesting character trait
If I hear I Need a Hero used in any context that isn't Shrek 2 ever again I'm exploding.

What Has Mario Done.
I'm looking forward to the Mario movie TBH.
Like, Mario is now where near as important to me as Sonic is, but the Mario franchise were some of my first REAL video games, and I still have a complete DVD collection of "The Super Mario Bros. 3" show from over a decade ago (honestly though, I watched it mostly for Kooky)
I think it’s because of those cartoons that I can deal with Mario not having an Italian accent in the movie, but, honestly, the thing I'm most disappointed about is they didn't find a way for him to say "let's a go!" Or "here we go!" Instead of "here we come". I hope they change that (though I don't think he said those lines in the cartoon so IDK why I'm hung up on that)
IDK, I'm probably just nitpicking, but I hear "here we go!" Or "Let's a go!" And my brain says "that's Mario" but "here we come just sounds so... basic to me
IDK, I guess I'm also scared Illumination will try to make the Mario movies their new Despicable Me and milk it to death with no real love put into it??? I mean, they don't have the best track record IMO (anyone else remember the Lorax ad?)
IDK, I'm trying to reserve judgement until I see the film, and other than that little nitpick, I can't wait to see the world of Mario on the big screen in a... proper way...I guess... IDK, I haven't seen the old live action, save for some scenes but after hearing that some of the actors apparently hated the movie so much, they drank on set, I'm not sure I ever want to
mystified by the argument that videogame!Mario's voice speaking full sentences would apparently be "grating" to listen to for the length of a feature film, as if [A]: a voiced Mario game lasts less than an hour to avoid upsetting people's sensibilities, and [2]: Charles Martinet is only capable of doing one silly "WAHOO" voice
besides the quadrant of Mario, the man's the voice of Paarthurnax, the narrator for two of the Bit.Trip Runner games, Gimli in a LotR RPG, and a long history of other video-game, TV and movie bits besides that, and people don't trust that he'd be able to do a full movie? Even sticking to the instruction-booklet story that came with Super Mario Bros, the whole "Brooklyn native ends up in a strange new world" thing isn't difficult to work with - he'd be able to give Mario a more subdued voice, but still decently recognisable as the Mario voice that many are familiar with
I'm not wont to be mean for its own sake, and I'm a full year late on this cause I wasn't on tumblr for a while, but with the trailer out for real now, Chris Pratt is definitely miscast as Mario. Him phoning it in as "Chris Pratt but with a mild accent" compared to Jack Black's Bowser or Keegan-Michael Key's Toad is disappointing, and whilst I know none of what I say will have any real impact on the movie, I definitely feel like it deserved better casting in that regard.
Mario Bros. Movie Impression (Non-English dubbed)
I watched the Super Mario Bros Movie today. It has the features you would expect from a Mario Movie. Liked it well enough. 7/10
The movie is about Mario and The Mario Bros. It’s not like some movies where the side characters leave more of an impression on you.(At least for me)
-Loved Luigi’s little mannerisms. Utter Cuteness
-Felt for Mario the most.
-The soundtrack adaptation was great.
-I understand why some people say it has pacing issues. The scene transitions threw me off the most.
The Dub.
-I didn’t watch it in English so idk about the original vocal performances. It was unexpectedly good for a dub, usually they feel awkward, even the lip sync issues didn’t detract from the experience.
- Since it wasn’t the original English version, I went into the theatre knowing that the choice of the cast wouldn’t personally bother me (in this case, I plan to watch it in English at some point) , though I understand why people are upset about Charles Martinet being glanced over in favour of a standard-sounding voice.
Spoilers(?)
-Disappointed but expected the lack of Bowuigi (we shouldn’t let that stop us though)
-Missed polterpup.
- It could cut some time from the training and racing and put it on emotional moments.
But it’s ok, it felt well connected to the games.
-Loved the family dynamic
-Loved that Cranky was there
-Liked the {[(B)]}romance between DK and Mario
- Mario’s parents looked related in a Mickey and Minnie way.
-I liked that it had a scene with the job that was rated on the Mario Bros. website
I didn’t expect it to be like that. I expected the mess to be dirt and clutter mess at most and that the dog liked them.
What sort of sh*t dog bone breaks like that?
-Loved that all the bad guys were at the Wedding.
-Loved the Bowser playing piano with Kamek part.
- I didn’t get who the mustached guy who wasn’t Mario’s dad was.
-Somehow the penguins left more of an impression on me than Peach. I don’t really have a problem with her, she just seems the most ready to face Bowser and you don’t fear for her.
-The Penguin king seemed kinda regal?....hot? IDK

Just watched the Mario movie, and not to be dramatic, but i left the theater craving a healthy enemies to lovers relationship with jack blacks bowser, specifically the kind where bowser kidnaps me as a statement of love but upon me rejecting him, he keeps me locked up in his castle beauty and the beast style, and after several weeks of sarcasm and pointed remarks, we slowly get closer by realizing we have more in common than we thought (eg. the love of piano, but im flexable). Hate turns to friendship turns to love, with me coming to terms that im a legal furry in love with a turtle, and bowser grows to love me on an emotional level rather than just physical. Once we confess our feelings to each other, things will slowly grow more intimate, very slowly as bowser better understands our physical differences, and becomes anxious of the idea of hurting me in the bedroom. As I start to become an official consort, I will start to join castle business, not because I have too, but for a genuine want of helping the kupa kingdom, and bowser absolutly loves it. Eventually, we’ll have a fight, and being mutually angry, I threaten to leave, and bowser actually lets me, with a “If you really hate me that much, just leave!” And I do, and before we know it, we both regret our words and realize our mistakes. Bowser panics with the knowledge that he found the one person who has actually truly loved him, and he let them go. But before he can destroy every kingdom in his quest to find me again, Im back at the castle door, returning because I want to. We make up, there are tears, and once emotions stabilize, bowser gets on one knee and proposes like he did all that time ago. No theatrics, no threats, just him opening his heart and asking me to join him. I say yes without hesitation, and the joy in both of us turn into passion, leading us to the bedroom to finally experience that closeness we were missing. Bowser is a kind lover, trying his best to be gentle despite his animalistic nature. Things go well, and before we know it, I’m pregnant with Bowser Junior, taking us both by surprise. We get the wedding planned despite the pregnancy shock, and next comes the baby. Of course there will be drama with the fact that I would likely die in childbirth, but we deal with it together.
So yeah, the movie was ok

How I see the Mario Movie: I do not seek perfection. Only passion. And this movie? It’s filled to the brim with it. Good luck NINTENDO and Illumination. I know you can do it! 😁
Sometimes, it’s hard living as an optimistic person in a world that’s not completely kind to unexpected changes. However, when in doubt, just let the positives light the way for you and don’t let the negatives weigh you down. Change is just nature.
PS. Extremely hyped for the Mario Movie. Instant 100/100 for me. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s either Charles or Chris voicing the red plumber, because as long as Mario’s acting like himself, then I have faith for his first time on the big screen after a long, long time!
They went hard on the Mario Movie Trailer…YET AGAIN!!! I’M TELLING YA PEOPLE! THIS MOVIE IS GONNA BE THE BEST VIDEO GAME MOVIE OF ALL TIME! 1,000,000/1,000,000!!! ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU NINTENDO AND ILLUMINATION!!! I LOVE MARIO’S AND TOAD’S INTERACTIONS IN THAT TRAILER!!!

This guy…I friggin love this big oaf. Seth Rogen rules the jungle as Donkey Kong, and Chris Pratt is still going strong with Mario. Said it once, I’ll say it again, this movie’s gonna be the best!!!

In all honesty, words cannot describe how friggin’ excited I was when I saw this movie. Super Show was my childhood and I was very happy to see it finally get referenced. Chris Pratt as Mario and Charlie Day as Luigi are gonna get us hooked on the brothers, Super-Style! Nintendo and Illumination really put all their heart and soul in both the movie and it’s marketing. This movie’s gonna be the film of the year, no decade, no…MILLENIUM!!!
You look at me right frigging now and tell me this ain’t the most badass hero in the entire multiverse. Go on, I dare you.
