She is here for Soryn, making it known with a small smirk on her lips and some wine. ❝ It's been awhile. Sorry I took so long... ❞
their gaze lifts as they see her come into view, their heart skipping a beat and their breath hitching. " jane? " they softly ask, standing and moving closer to greet her, wrapping their arms around her. " my love, i have missed you so much. " they sigh, holding her a little tighter, burying their face in the crook of her neck to breathe in her scent. soryn pulls away, cupping her face in their hands. " have you been well? have you been taking care of yourself? "
it feels good to have her at their side again. while she was gone, it was like a piece of them had been missing. was that strange? maybe, but she completes them. soryn is just glad to have her in their life again, so they've been sticking to her side like glue and they don't stray very far from her. perhaps they worry she'll be gone again if they look or turn away for even a second. even now, as the two wander the store to pick out ingredients for dinner, they hold jane's hand to keep themself from wandering off and away from her.
giving her hand a gentle squeeze, they direct her attention to the display of various cuts of raw beef and pick up one of the packages. " i think this would make a delectable steak, yes? perhaps i could steam or pan-fry some vegetable to go with it. " soryn is already imagining the wine that would pair perfectly with everything.

" of course you can. mashed potatoes will go really well with the steak. " they tell her with a growing smile, giving her hand a gentle squeeze in return. " i think some red potatoes would be very good for that. i would even be happy to peel them for you, if you like. " soryn places the package of steak into the shopping cart and together they move on through the aisles. when she gets the potatoes, they find some wine to enjoy and something from the bakery for dessert. " how about this tiny red velvet cake for dessert? it really sates my sweet tooth. " soryn admits with a soft laugh, smiling a little sheepishly.
IT WAS ODD; --- How Soryn, a full demon, made Jane feel somewhat human ... As though there was a part of her that could return to that form. [ It's too late, she's a rotten monster now. ] Yet, with them, she feels comfort & a blessing that was beyond her understanding for some time.; --- But now that she had come to them, seeking their comfort & warmth, so Soryn could make her feels a sense of humanity in her lava like soul. She does not pay much attention, of habit, simply taking in the moment of them by her side.
It was when she was given a squeeze that red eyes turned to face them. At the sight of the meat, she smiles & nods. ❝ I haven't had a home cooked meal in a while. Can I make some mashed potatoes too? ❞ Thought it seemed childish, she could not help but squeeze their hand tenderly. A soft promise to stay by their side.
of course they could feel there was something different to her, something very different, but... it seems that she's still jane, too. she's still the same woman they fell in love with and planned out a life with. with whatever happened, though... is that still possible? can they still have that life? " you should know i would still love you no matter what, jane. i worried greatly while you were gone, but my feelings for you did not change. "
soryn holds her close, fingers curling into her shirt. no matter what, they're just glad she's here and that she's okay. " maybe... maybe you could explain to me why you left? please, i have been dying to know. " they doubt it's anything they did, but still, what happened while she was gone?

THE ONLY TIME SHE FELT GUILT. A small tug on her heartstrings that had broken & snapped since their absence in her life. [ Jane was the one that had left, it was her fault, but she missed Soryn deeply. ] Would they still love her now that she was a half demon? Her blood now held Satan's soul, & she was uncertain on how that would make the other feel. The moment she feels them embrace her, she closes her eyes & allows herself peace by basking in their warmth.
Her scarred arms wrapped around the taller demon, holding them close as a sigh leaves her. ❝ I'm sorry. ❞ Jane began. ❝ I should have been honest with you about why I left for a while. Everything was falling around me ... Only to become this. ❞
" i simply can not help myself! i have always adored indulging in sweets. " so much so that their manager has wondered how they don't gain weight. soryn would just shrug it off like it's some high metabolism thing. it's not like they could admit to why they could really eat so much and not gain a pound. besides, sweets are a comfort food to them. how can they give that up? when jane agrees to everything in the cart, the demon grins and gives a single, satisfied nod. " we shall head to a checkout line, then. we will be home soon and i get to have you all to myself. " they snake an arm around her waist and hold her close, pushing the cart with their free hand. soryn pays for their items and carry the bags out to the car. they open the passenger door for her, kissing her temple after she gets in. they move to climb in behind the wheel and begins the drive back to the apartment.
JANE CAN'T HAPPEN BUT SMILE WIDER AT THEM. There was something so humbling about Soryn. Despite them being a full demon and Jane being a Half - Demon, Soryn treated them like a prize. [ Like a gift even, something that didn't make much sense to Jane, but she was not complaining. ] As they walk along together, Jane noted some of the baked goods herself, chuckling with a nod. ❝ Your sweet tooth would make a dentist so mad. ❞ Jane joked, lightly nudging them with her elbow before nodding. ❝ Everything sounds great to me! ❞
" i will listen, my love. you know i will. " soryn whispers. with how long she was gone for, they have no doubt she has much to speak of. that is, if she even wishes to speak of it. they sigh, relaxing in her embrace, their hand rubbing her back, moving up and down along the length of her spine. how they missed holding her, hearing her voice, even being near her. soryn has longed for this, but their heart no longer aches now that she has returned.
soryn pulls away only enough to begin leading their beloved into the apartment, bringing her to the couch. " come, let us get comfortable and we can talk. is there anything i can get for you? something to eat, something to drink? i would be more than happy to get it for you. "
SORYN STILL LOVED HER? After being gone for so long, left unspoken to in the prison of her silence, now they are free and choose to love her? It caused a dull ache to burn in her chest; --- If she was fully human like before, no doubt would she be brought to the brink of tears. Now, she is half a demon of the Sixth Ring of Hell of Wrath. Something so beyond her, but contained by her.
Now, Soryn could see the mess she had become. [ Everything changed, the only thing that remained was the scars of fire that littered her skin. ] The embrace they offered brought Jane a sense of tranquility she thought she lost so long ago. Her own arms wrap around the demon, holding them close as she sighs and shakes her head softly.
❝ It's such a long story . . . But I won't lie or hide from ya anymore. I'm going to be here now, you've earned that. ❞
