I babbani (persone senza poteri) sono succubi dei maghi. È in corso una colonizzazione vissuta senza dubbi, come normale amministrazione. La manipolazione di noi comuni mortali non e' in discussione, ma lo è che un mago abbia il permesso di farlo oppure no.
Siamo letteralmente trattati come animali.

Assistiamo a veri e propri episodi di bullismo e nonnismo, che pero' non sembrano toccare le ragazze. L'oltraggio, infatti, non e' che uno studente possa essere malmenato o umiliato, ma che lo si faccia alle studentesse.
Piton è stato coinvolto per ben due volte in fatti di questo tipo.
Non ha nessuna importanza che l'insulto sia frutto della concitazione del momento, che sia estorto. James ha ottenuto cio' che voleva. Dimostrare che Piton - brutto, timido e intelligente, nato povero - è inferiore anche moralmente.
Si noti che un'offesa di questo genere non avverra' mai da parte di uno studente della stessa classe sociale di James. Non con le stesse modalita' con cui è venuto da Piton. Sembra naturale per la Rowling immaginare che i poveri si danno al turpiloquio e sono razzisti. Anche se, di fatto, abbiamo visto uno studiato fenomeno di esclusione sociale di Piton da parte di James, il quale povero non e'.
Piu' o meno consapevolmente, l'autrice di Harry Potter descrive una forma di razzismo di classe, facendo in modo che lo status quo non venga mai modificato nella narrazione. Saranno i protagonisti stessi a difenderlo.
E non si puo' dire che lei si nasconda: questo è il mondo che lei vede. Se le piaccia, non lo sappiamo. È vero pero' che un certo fandom vede solo cio' che vuol vedere.

Ho dei quesiti che, se non li risolvono in maniera convincente, saranno di ostacolo alla serie tv.
1) Perche' ci vuole cosi' tanto a capire che l'insulto razzista di Severus contro Lily fu un problema di gestione delle emozioni? Non corrispondente alla realta', o non nella misura percepita dalla ragazza? Mentre il comportamento di James è stato intenzionale e volto a metterlo in cattiva luce.
2) Perche' Lily si dimostra cosi' intollerante verso il maltrattamento di ragazze e di babbani, ma in buona sostanza da' il permesso a James di fare a Severus cio' che vuole, subito dopo che si è offesa? Cioe' per ripicca.
3) Sirius mostra a Severus dove si trova Remus, proprio quando quest'ultimo ha la forma di lupo mannaro. Cosi' facendo, spera che Severus venga ucciso o ferito.
Questa azione non avrebbe lasciato indifferente nemmeno Remus, il quale, ripresa la forma umana, si sarebbe trovato un delitto sulla coscienza e non per colpa sua...
Bisogna dedurre allora: Sirius pensava che anche Remus sarebbe stato contento di aver fatto fuori l'uomo che odiavano. Oppure, a Sirius non importa niente di quello che succedera' a Remus.
In ogni caso, Remus rimane amico di un compagno che lo ha usato come un oggetto, lo ha strumentalizzato. Non ci vede un problema finche' non salta fuori la voce che Sirius ha tradito i Potter.
Come puo' essere?! Io mi sarei rifiutata di intrattenere rapporti con lui da subito.
4) Sirius ha continuato a odiare Piton, Remus continua a far finta di niente, anche se passa per quello accomodante. Nel Prigioniero di Azkaban, Sirius somministra dei colpi in testa a Piton mentre è svenuto. Forse qualcuno lo trova buffo. A me viene voglia di prenderli entrambi a calci nel sedere.
5) Perche' il comportamento dei Malandrini, che troppo spesso rasenta la delinquenza, non e' stato stigmatizzato? Mentre Piton è stato ostracizzato fin dalla scena sul treno.
Finche' si finisce per non capire se lui e' andato con Voldemort perche' lo voleva davvero, o perche' tutti dicevano che ci sarebbe andato.
5) Se James fosse stato meno cazz*ne e Lily meno inflessibile, sarebbero ancora vivi? Io credo proprio di si.
Ed Harry non saprebbe chi sono i Dursley.
E Neville sarebbe felice e in buona salute.
E Piton avrebbe un altro carattere.

Se vi imbattete in questa serie italiana con questi attori, ricordatevi sempre di non porre nessuna critica. Ne' intorno ai personaggi dei romanzi originali, ne' tantomeno sulla trama da loro ideata. Fingete di andare in delirio davanti alla loro bravura.
Qualunque cosa che non siano complimenti verra' rimossa e considerata frutto di fanatismo e di mentalita' hater. I commenti saranno shadow-bannati da YouTube, il profilo di Dracarys Rose sparira' da Instagram.
Non risponde neppure per dare indicazioni sulla serie.
Cio'nonostante, viene dato tutto per inteso finche' non la si contatta direttamente: a quel punto, ti dira' che le tue critiche sono frutto della tua fantasia (e la sua serie no?) che devi farti una vita, e che "se ti scopre a parlar male di lei, parte una denuncia".
Ma grazie tantissimo, cara Lily, sembri proprio quella originale.

LA MORTE DI PITON PER AMORE
L'interpretazione è quella canonica e il riassunto proviene dal capitolo 5 del libro di Laura Anna Macor, "Filosofando con Harry Potter" (Mimesis).
- SETTE ANNI DI GUAI -
Piton è il personaggio piu' sfuggente e contraddittorio perche', se ufficialmente e' schierato coi "buoni", non fa corrispondere a questa scelta un cambiamento di psicologia o una differenza di comportamento. Fin dal primo anno si dedica a salvare Harry Potter lanciando un controincantesimo che impedisce al professor Raptor di uccidere il bambino nella partita di quidditch: eppure Piton odia Harry, perche' è il figlio dell'uomo che lo bullizzava a scuola - James Potter. E Potter fu anche quello che gli porto' via la ragazza che amava: Piton non ha mai cambiato il suo punto di vista.
Il secondo anno, scoperta la gatta pietrificata, sostiene che potrebbe non essere stato Harry Potter ma lo dice come se facesse del sarcasmo.
Il terzo anno nessuno ha ancora capito che Sirius Black è innocente del tradimento dei genitori di Harry e della loro conseguente morte: benche' Piton odi Remus Lupin profondamente, non e' per odio che si oppone all'idea di assumerlo come insegnante, bensi' perche' era amico di Sirius e ritiene che potrebbe avere la tentazione di aiutarlo ad entrare a scuola, per consentirgli di uccidere Harry.
Durante il quarto anno, il Veritaserum che serve a tirare fuori la verita' da Barty Crouch jr proviene da Piton.
Nel quinto anno, Piton scopre che la visione trasmessa ad Harry di un Sirius Black torturato all'Ufficio Misteri era falsa. Pertanto avverte i membri dell'Ordine della Fenice perche' vadano in aiuto dell'esercito di Silente.
Durante il sesto anno, dopo aver ucciso Silente che stava proteggendo Harry Potter, impedisce ai Mangiamorte di torturare il ragazzo.
Nonostante tutto cio', è palpabile la sua avversione per ogni membro dell'Ordine, il disprezzo per individui di sangue non puro, il disgusto per chi cerca e accetta la compagnia di creature "subumane" come lupi mannari ed elfi domestici.
- IL NOCCIOLO DEL PROBLEMA -

La chiave di lettura fornita dalla Macor deriva dal rapporto che ciascun personaggio, Piton in particolare, ha con la morte.
Dopo gli anni di scuola, Lily sposa il giovane che aveva bullizzato Piton e lo fa essenzialmente perche' membro dell'Ordine. Peraltro, lo stesso Piton da ragazzo tendeva a bullizzare i maghi nati babbani, da solo o in compagnia di altri Serpeverde. Non vede in questo comportamento una frattura o una contraddizione, come se Lily fosse altro da se stessa, un'idea della sua mente.
Severus Piton ammette davanti a lei le molestie ad altre babbane ma non ne comprende appieno la gravita'. È maligno, ma non corrotto, in caso contrario mentirebbe. È interessato unicamente ai propri desideri, ma non e' falso; tuttavia il suo è un amore immaturo rimasto ai primi anni dell'infanzia.
Piton diventa un Mangiamorte seguace di Voldemort, in parte per lenire la delusione d'amore, ma anche perche' convinto degli ideali della purezza della razza.
- DUE AMORI -
L'amore per Lily è cio' che lo ha convinto a passare definitivamente alla magia oscura, ma e' la morte di Lily che lo induce a diventare spia per conto di Silente.
Come puo' lo stesso sentimento spingere a due comportamenti antitetici?
La confusione è aumentata dal fatto che il Patronus di Piton è una cerva, come quello di Lily, il che denota sincerita' di sentimenti. Pero' non e' chiaro se lo sia sempre stato o se il Patronus sia diventato cosi' dopo la morte dell'amata, uccisa per mano di Voldemort.
Dopo aver implorato il signore oscuro di risparmiare la donna in cambio del marito e del figlio - inviano - Piton passa i successivi 17 anni a complottare contro il suo vecchio signore, facendogli credere di essergli ancora alleato. E senza dubbio Voldemort ci crede, perche' la loro ideologia condivisa vuole che Lily fosse un capriccio, un desiderio rimpiazzabile da una piu' degna pretendente di sangue puro.
Piton tuttavia non si sposa, ma chiede a Silente che nessun altro sappia le sue reali intenzioni, di fatto gettando fango su di se'. Ancora una volta, non e' con Voldemort che ha un conto in sospeso, ma con se stesso.
- LO SCOPO E LE INTENZIONI -
Se manifestare antipatia verso Harry Potter servisse al suo scopo di spia, egli dovrebbe dimostrare comprensione ed empatia verso il ragazzino, nelle occasioni in cui parla da solo con Silente. Invece il suo atteggiamento non cambia.
Piton si divide tra l'amore infantile - ma puro - l'amore maturo, corrotto e consapevole, e l'avversione per gli altri personaggi, per lo piu' conosciuti negli anni di scuola. L'amore infantile è quello dominato dall'egocentrismo e dal sacrificio chiesto agli altri. L'amore maturo porta al sacrificio di se', ragion per cui è probabile - anche se non reso esplicito - che Piton non avesse Patronus prima di apprendere della morte di Lily. O che ne avesse uno differente.
< Non stupisce che Harry ne rivendichi la centralita' (del Patronus) come testimonianza della fedelta' di Piton a Silente nel dialogo che precede il suo scontro finale con Voldemort. > (Cit.).
- LE NOSTRE CONVINZIONI -
L'odio che Piton nutre per i propri alleati, anziche' diminuire la credibilita' delle sue scelte, sembra esortare a "curare cio' che ci unisce, non cio' che divide". Il filosofo Vaihinger scrisse che le nostre idee e convinzioni non descrivono la realta', ma danno comunque una direzione che migliora la vita. "Comportati come se fosse vero", disse. Piton fa qualcosa di piu', si comporta come se ci credesse, dal momento che anche quella di Vaihinger è una convinzione.
< Egli non si limita a riconoscere la propria parte di colpa ne' acconsente semplicemente a proteggere Harry (...) Non porta solo dentro di se' il ricordo dell'errore commesso, quasi morso interiore che preclude il raggiungimento di qualsiasi felicita', ma sceglie consapevolmente e ripetutamente di confermare la decisione presa a suo tempo > (Cit.)
La morte per amore, invece dell'amore per la morte come era nei progetti iniziali.
"Commetti errori ma non pentirti.
È cosi' che si impara."
Ovvero: perche', in Harry Potter, i personaggi integralmente buoni (uno solo, in verita') sono personaggi incompiuti. Senza evoluzione propria. Non sono stati sottoposti alle stesse prove degli altri e percio' agiscono in automatico, senza dubbi e domande, in un certo senso diventando inumani.
E spiega anche perche' Lily sia adorata da Piton, ma non "amata" dal pubblico in senso stretto. Chi non perdona non ha nemmeno bisogno di perdono. Basta a se stessa.
E Lily non ha mai perdonato.
Ha cancellato Piton dalla sua sua vita e ha immaginato che James fosse un'altra persona. Cio' le è stato sufficiente a sposarlo, ma in realta' avrebbe potuto sposare un qualunque Grifondoro.
Perche' mai?...
Perche' appartiene all'Ordine e sarebbe vicino a Silente.
Perche' su Lily, il giudizio degli altri ha un peso diverso rispetto a Piton. Lei ha paura fin da piccola di essere esclusa, di essere disprezzata. Anche Piton detesta essere escluso, chiaramente, ma lui ne' e' consapevole e reagisce, seppure violentemente e incoerentemente. Lily sembra del tutto inconsapevole di essere condizionata dal giudizio degli altri ("parlano tutti male di te, non so piu' come giustificarti!") e ha persino mantenuto rapporti con la sorella che la disprezzava, bacchettando Piton quando la metteva in guardia. E condannando Harry, di fatto, a undici anni di una vita miserabile con zia Petunia.
Non che lo abbia fatto apposta... ma se Lily rappresenta un modello femminile, non la si puo' certo definire un modello desiderabile e progressista.
La sua "soluzione" al bullismo e' stato sposare un bullo. Cosa che Piton non poteva fare, e che altre ragazze non vorrebbero nemmeno.
Sarebbe bello vedere una tesi di laurea su questo tipo di argomenti, sembra che siano in tanti a farne su Harry Potter: se qualcuno è disponibile a farsi leggere, mi contatti in privato.

Defending Lily
As someone involved in the Snape fandom, I’m frustrated by the unfair criticism Lily receives. It’s disheartening to see so much disdain directed at her character, especially when many of these judgments overlook the complexities of her situation. Despite being a minor character in the books, Lily is often misunderstood and unfairly vilified, and as a Snape fan, I feel compelled to defend her. Lily deserves a fairer assessment that considers her full context, rather than being unfairly vilified.
Lily ending her friendship with Snape
Lily was fully justified in ending her friendship with Severus after he called her a slur. Although Snape was being bullied and humiliated at that moment, such a hurtful term doesn't slip out easily—it was already part of his vocabulary. He used and associated it with Muggleborns in general among his Slytherin friends, as Lily pointed out when he attempted to apologize.

It's important to note that the slur wasn't the sole reason for the end of their friendship. Their relationship had been strained for some time. Snape had long been involved with a gang of Slytherins who aspired to join Voldemort and were deeply involved with the Dark Arts. Given that Lily, his best friend and a Muggleborn, was part of the very group his associates aimed to terrorize, his affiliations were deeply troubling. Despite Lily’s efforts to distance him from his dark associations with Mulciber and Avery, Snape remained entrenched in his choices. She had been excusing his behavior for years because she cared about him deeply and did not want their friendship to end. However, everyone has their breaking point. When he called her a Mudblood, it was the final straw. She could no longer overlook his behavior or excuse it.
“It’s too late. I’ve made excuses for you for years.”

“I can’t pretend anymore. You’ve chosen your way, I’ve chosen mine.”
Ending the friendship was a painful but necessary decision. It's unfair to expect Lily to bear the burden of continuously trying to "save" Snape when he was unwilling to change his ways. Despite her attempts to guide him and communicate her concerns, his own choices ultimately drove them apart.
The "Smile" During SWM
Another point of contention is the exaggerated focus on Lily’s supposed 'smile' during Snape’s bullying. It wasn’t a smile—it was a very brief twitch of her expression. When James flipped Snape upside down, Lily’s expression twitched momentarily before she continued to defend him. Some people are really blowing this out of proportion.

From my perspective, her reaction seems to be an involuntary response to the sudden shock of seeing Snape's underwear. It's not uncommon to smile or refrain from smiling at inappropriate times due to shock or unexpectedness. Alternatively, it could be seen as an indicator of a shift in her and Snape’s relationship, considering their strained friendship. However, Lily's subsequent actions—defending Snape and admonishing James—demonstrate her clear disdain for bullying. Furthermore, the assumption that Snape called her "Mudblood" because of her reaction is also unlikely; Snape was too preoccupied with his own humiliation to notice a fleeting twitch. Harry, observing his parents closely, might have been the only one to catch it.
Criticizing Lily for this brief, involuntary reaction and portraying her as evil is deeply unfair. It shows that she is a flawed human being like the rest of the characters.
Lily's Stance Against Bullying
Another argument I’ve heard is that Lily didn’t defend Snape from the Marauders' bullying at all or does a half-assed job. While our information is limited, we do see her stand up to James when he and Sirius insult Snape on the train to Hogwarts in their first year. Before that, when Petunia called her a freak, Lily stood her ground and told her sister it wasn’t a nice thing to say.
"“Lily sat up, rather flushed, and looked from James to Sirius in dislike. “Come on, Severus, let’s find another compartment.””

“—you think I want to be a–a freak?” Lily’s eyes filled with tears as Petunia succeeded in tugging her hand away. “I’m not a freak,” said Lily. “That’s a horrible thing to say.”
Lily is depicted as a person who stands against injustice and bullying. She consistently demonstrates moral courage and empathy, defending those who are mistreated, even when it involves confronting her peers or family members. Her actions reveal a strong sense of fairness and a willingness to speak up for what is right, showcasing her integrity and compassion. Given this, it's likely she defended her best friend on numerous other occasions. Additionally, Snape probably kept most of the bullying incidents a secret from her, viewing it as humiliating. Even Sirius noted that Lily wasn’t aware that James continued to hex Snape in their seventh year. This suggests that it’s not far-fetched to assume Snape may have kept much of the bullying from her.
Lily's Marriage to James
At last, I understand why some might feel uneasy about Lily marrying James Potter, given his history as a bully toward Snape. It's completely reasonable to feel conflicted, as reconciling her choice with her past can seem challenging. However, it's important to note that by the time Lily had gotten with James, she and Snape hadn't been in touch for about two years. Their friendship had ended, and she was no longer involved in his life. This doesn’t mean she was dismissing her past with Snape; rather, she had moved on from that chapter of her life. As I mentioned earlier, Lily likely wasn’t fully aware of the extent of Snape's bullying. Additionally, she saw qualities in James that indicated he had matured to a point she could accept. Lily is not a grudge holder; she is a forgiving person who is willing to give second chances when she perceives change, which she probably saw in James.
All of this doesn’t diminish Snape’s suffering or the challenges he faced, but it highlights the complex realities of both their situations. It’s crucial to consider Lily’s perspective and avoid unfairly condemning her. She shouldn’t be demonized; her actions reflect her own limitations and struggles. Just like all the characters in the series, Lily was flawed and real. Recognizing this can help us move past the simplistic view of her as bad person and appreciate her as a multidimensional character who, like everyone, had her own battles and growth.
