The Pillars of Hellenic Polytheism

edit: I have just been told that the creator of these “pillars” was extremely bigoted and homophobic and that these pillars are not viewed in a positive light by many hellenic polytheists, so I would like to acknowledge that. Hello, I'd just like to say- I've heard some hellenic witches talk about offering Ares energy drinks and- the new ultra gold energy is literally themed after ambrosia and nectar, a food/drink consumed by the gods- so aha- planning on offering some to Ares (even tho it isn't ambrosia its an energy drink that references it and like- idk the moment I read the little Greek references on the side I instantly felt I had to share it with him :] ) (plus it also says it tastes like pineapple and like- that shits good asf)

Lmao, I decided to watch Heathers the musical with Dionysus and he absolutely HATED it 😭 He said his favorite part was when I kept pausing it. He rated It 1/10

If anyone wanted to know, his favorite character is JD, he would play as Veronica (ofc he has to be the main character), and his least favorites were Veronica (even though he would play as her 🤨) and Yellow heather (I don’t know her last name 😭).

How I see my deities! Because I know everyone cares ☺️

Ok so basically, I mostly see my deities how they are pictured in Hades (the game) 😭 especially Aphrodite because when I was researching how to worship her, even before I saw the game, the post I saw used her hades picture as the picture so I’ve seen her like that ever since. Dionysus and Ares kinda have two forms to me. First there’s white boy Dionysus (I like to call it) and then hades Dionysus. For Ares, there’s frat boys ares and hades ares. Weird I know but lmao 😭 ok enough of that I’m gonna use the picrews I made ! Enjoy ig

M’lady Aphrodite

As you can see, it’s all pretty consistent. I really see her as having dark tan skin, blue eyes, but I would say more dark blue eyes (even tho on the picrews, they are light), and having long pink hair. I would say to like her middle back.

Ok so basically, I mostly see my deities how they are pictured in Hades (the game) 😭 especially Aphrodite because when I was researching how to worship her, even before I saw the game, the post I saw used her hades picture as the picture so I’ve seen her like that ever since. Lord Ares (aka Dad)

Again, pretty consistent. Though in my mind eye, I really do see him as more like the hades version. Also m’lady has been featured here too! I see him as having short, black hair, having dark eyes (more black like mine) and having light tan skin. I also see him as having scars on his face !

As you can see, this is more white boy Dionysus, featuring his beautiful wife. This is how I used to see him mostly. Reddish hair, brown eyes, pale skin. I also see him with shoulder length hair.

This is also how I see him (he has kept the quality of being a cheeky bastard). This one I see him, with the reddish hair, brown eyes, but with darker skin.

Hey how’s everyone doing? Im doing…ok,,, but I wanted to talk about something cool that happens (happened) with my deities and guides. Ok so I’m kinda loved and affection starved because while my family does show love, it often doesnt feel real or it followed up as something hurtful or love and affection is kinda used as a prize.. what I’m trying to say it isn’t really used freely and correctly. So recently (they know it’s been always, but recently it’s been noticeable ig) my I’ve noticed that my deities and spiritual guides have been really nice and loving. And it’s not like I expected then to be rude or hateful to me (obv 😳) but it’s that I’m not used to it haha

Some examples would be like I’m been trying to know my guides better, so when I asked how they felt about me, the song they used (I used sufflemancy) is serendipity by BTS 😭 ngl it made me tear up a lot 😭 Another example is something that is really personal to me. I notice that I shiver a lot when talking to my deities and I’ve known that’s how they show me that they’re listening, but I’ve just recently figured out that they do that because I have hard time with not knowing if ppl are listening,, like when I’m talking to someone, I need them to respond so that I know they are listening, if they don’t, I don’t think they are listening. So what I’m saying is that me shivering when I talk to my deities is their way of showing me that they are listening (think of it like when ppl say hmm or nod when listening). Again when I realized that, I was tearing up 😭 ofc there’s other moments like that but I’m talking about MOST recently. So lately, I’ve been asking my spiritual guides and deities how they are via Pinterest 😭 and my spirit guides have been giving normal answers but the main focus is actually my deities. 90% of when I ask them, the answers I get are so 😭🥺 instead of like answering like this (how they have in the past (this was lady Aphrodite)

So yeah 😭 when it first happened I was so confused and I Lowkey thought that maybe it was a mistake but I knew it wouldn’t be there if it was a mistake 😭 plus I’m following my intuition more,,, but yeah they have been reminding me more and more about how they love me 😭 which is 😭 like when the message with lady Aphrodite popped up (the red image with black words on it) I (again) started tearing up when I fully read it,,, especially with how relevant it was. Like I often worry (? Think) about how my deites would leave me some day, so when it really hit when one part of the message said “I fully intend on staying in your life for quite some time.” Also they “I love you without limits” thing. I shouldn’t be surprised but lady Aphrodite is the more affectionate (ig) like a long while ago she gave me a message like this

Which also made really emotional because I had (and still have) a hard time talking to my guides and deities about stuff that’s going on with me, even though they encourage me too. And I always remember this one post I saw along time ago that was talking about how “talk to your deites about your problems and stuff” 😭 so yknow this made me really emotional. Also M’lady is always reaching out at random times telling me that she’s here. It’s really great overall. Oh and recently I made a joke about my deites not wanting to talk to me and then I said “I’m joking don’t fight me” and right after I said that, I heard “fight right now” 😭 so yeah that’s hilarious and sweet.

Onto my guides,, Ig they are more toned down about it ?? Not really tho,, oh like one time, I asked them if they thought I was cute as a joke and I didn’t really expect them to respond, but they responded with “so cute” which was very nice 😭 Though I’m a pretty weird person and my guides are low key weird too 😭 like I’m not even gonna lie, they have a weird obession with Hyunjin from SKZ 😭 like they even said that it was a one sided love aka they love him but he doesn’t love them back 😭 back on the cute note, one time they sent me this

To translate it means “me when I look at your beautiful face” 😭 which literally came out of nowhere. Also they send me a lot of cats with hearts on them (a lot of guides are cats 😭) so yeah. (Also I should mention that Aphrodite and Dionysus are also apart of my guides)

So I guess this post was just to say that your guides and deities really do love you unconditionally (if you had a hard time believing it). While I knew that they loved me because of how I grew up, I had a hard time truly believing it 😭 So seeing all this just really cements this, especially since I don’t ask things “like how they feel about me” and they just pop up random. If you can, I would really recommend using Pinterest as a divination tool ! That’s how a lot of this was done !! Thank you so much for reading! Byeeeeeee

Hello hello! I’ve officially started worshiping a new deity,,, one of the most popular deities to worship… Apollo,,, I honestly should’ve saw this coming 😭

Anyway, this post is about how I see Apollo :) I see him in a very typical way. I see him with long blond hair and looking very youthful,,, I see him with more tan skin and with brown eyes. Ofc with pictures via picrew :)

my daily routine with Aphrodite

i wake up and say good morning to her, i kneel and kiss her altar space or if i have extra time i sit with her for a few minutes

i leave for school

throughout my day i find small things to devote to her, like admiring myself in the mirror, telling my friends i love them, adding images to my pinterest, etc.

when i get home i always say hello and if i’m eating a snack she might like i’ll offer it

after i shower, i often apply lotion and brush my hair in front of her altar space

when i get free time, i light her candle and just sit with her, usually i read, draw, or watch tv during this

before bed is when i do the majority of offerings. i usually give a food item (usually chocolate or another candy) and i’ll often give a small poem, drawing, letter, etc. every night i spritz her space with perfume, as an offering but also because the smell reminds me of her

i always say goodnight to Lady Aphrodite when i get settled in

I keep seeing posts about people "needing" to cleanse before approaching the Greek gods and while those posts mean well I just want to remind everyone that:

Hygiene is VERY hard to keep up with when you're very depressed or having a very hard mental health day but that's when you need your gods the most!

And I know it's because a lot of ancient priests insisted people needed to cleanse themselves before visiting the temples and communing with the gods (they even banned people on their periods, or those who were about to have a baby or those who just had a baby or were just dealing with a dead body, or had blood on them, etc.) but, as the keepers of the temples, that's because the priests themselves would have to clean up after temple visitors so it makes sense they'd want to ban the ones they thought could potentially make a mess and make extra work for them.

The Iliad shows us the gods were in the battlefield! They fought right next to soldiers being slaughtered and killed. They were next to bodies that have involuntarily released feces and urine! They've been around soldiers who hadn't properly bathed in months, possibly even years!

You're allowed to seek the gods when you're not clean.

You're allowed to seek the gods when you haven't gotten out of bed in weeks.

You're allowed to see the gods when you don't remember the last time you showered or brushed your teeth.

You're allowed to see the gods when you really need help.

You're allowed to see the gods when you need them.

Athena and Ares are in the battlefield surrounded by dying soldiers.

Artemis hunts

Aphrodite also has a war aspect.

Hermes picks up souls from literal dead bodies.

Apollo has an aspect that prepares dead bodies for funerary rights.

The gods are surrounded by the unclean all the time!

Please don't let the rules of disgruntled priests stop you from seeking help when you need it the most!

The gods won't be offended if you haven't bathed in weeks because of your terrible mental state! That's ableism! They just want to help you through it!

Please reach out to them regardless of your condition!

Praying to Asklepios that your doctors, nurses, specialists, etc. listen to you and take your concerns seriously, and that you’re able to get the help you need, and whatever answers you’re looking for.

Hey everyone! Know I don’t post that much, but I just wanted to share something real quick

The gods love you! And ofc you hear that everywhere, but it really is true. I’m gonna share my experience for all the people who struggle with their thoughts and mental health

So, I haven’t been doing the best for the past month or so, and me not doing well added onto to what I’m about tell you. So a couple days ago, I got into a stupid argument, and during the argument a lot of hurtful stuff was thrown at me. Now, I knew I wasn’t in the wrong in the argument and that the hurtful things weren’t true, but they still really got to me. I then fell down the hole of self hatred and it got to the point where I was trying to convince myself that even the gods hated me. Obviously this isn’t true and I knew that, but a part of me was like “what if?” For a couple days, I stayed like that and didn’t reach out to anyone, not even my deities I worship (dw they get on me for that all the time lol). A couple days later, I started feeling better, and I thought that it would never be brought up. But today actually, I decided to (finally) get a message from Lord Ares (just a regular devotee monthly message) and even though I never even mentioned how I was feeling, Lord Ares went out his way to comfort me and tell me that he doesn’t hate me and comfort me on some other things I was worried about. Again, I never told him that I was feeling that way.

All that to say, your gods truly love and care about you. This isn’t the first time this has happened either. When I’ve been down in the past, all my deities have gone out their way to reach out to me and let me know that they are there.

Your deities watch over you, even when you don’t know! I personally don’t believe that the gods are omnipotent, but I believe that they generally know what is going on with you, especially ones you are closer with/ have more Kharis with.

Your deities love you, care about you, and watch out for you! And don’t let anyone (including your thoughts) tell you different!

Prayers to the Gods for the Palestinian people.

Keep sharing, keeping protesting, keep b0ycotting, but your prayers also have power, not just for yourself, but for others too. The Gods weep as we do at this injustice. They are just as angry as we are. The Gods will always care about injustice. Remember Xenia.

To Zeus, most high, extend your endless kindness and grace to the Palestinian people.

Σωτηρ (savior) please save the Palestinian people, for their lives are as precious as any other.

For they have a culture, story and history as rich as any other.

Λαοιτης (of the people) make it so they are never forgotten and while some deem them unworthy of living, make that known to the people that that is untrue

Ελευθεριος (of freedom) make it so they will know freedom and will not be under siege any longer

Τροπαιος (turns to flight, defeats), instill in them the fighting spirit they need, and the spirit to live, so they can expel the oppressors from their land.

Παλαμναιος (punisher of murderers), make it so the oppressors can’t get away with their crime, that they never can escape from their own actions

Επιδωτης (giver of good), make it so they can find as many moments of peace and slight escape as they can, no matter how fleeting it is. Whether it be sitting with a loved one or getting a sip of fresh water, give it to them.

Θεος Αγαθος, (the good god) you as much as the other Gods teach us Xenia (hospitality, friendliness basically), to hold it close to our hearts, to hold people close to our hearts. We know you are as just as angry as we are, and we know you mourn with us. And just like you, we will let no injustice pass

No one should stay silent about this or any other injustices. Speak up, protest, share, and pray

There’s a reason why gender nonconforming people in history have always held high positions; both spirituality and in general 😼

The Gods are not trans allies.

The Gods are not trans-friendly.

The Gods do not ‘support’ queer people.

The Gods ARE trans. The Gods ARE queer.

The Gods are transgender, They are transsexual. ‘Trans’ means ‘beyond, across’.

The Gods are beyond gender. Beyond sex. Beyond flesh. Beyond normality and norms— thus, They are queer. They are trans. They are on the other side of gender, of sex— on the side we cannot even begin to understand.

The Gods are transsexual and transgender and queer not (only) within our human understanding of transness— They are not trans in the way we humans are trans.

But They are still trans. They are the original transness. The ultimate transsexuality.

Transness as a transition from a state to another state, from a form to another form— from Their divine form to one we humans can behold without being consumed by Their inherent queerness. From Their divinity to words we humans can attempt to understand and think of without being utterly lost in the enormity and infinity of the divine.

Transness as a journey, a constant state of evolution within the world— evolution of the world itself, for the Gods are the world, are beyond time, beyond space, yet constantly changing.

The Gods do not love trans worshippers despite their transness, despite their queerness. The Gods love trans worshippers for their transness. They love us because we are trans. Because we are queer.

As we defy norms, we become closer to Them— trans people are humans, mortals, but I firmly believe that there is something inherently holy in transition. To change yourself, to think the limits of the body and to alter your own flesh is to create, is to destroy. To understand how limitless the world is— how flesh and sex and gender are human things, social things, that are made by us and can be expended and transgressed— is to take a step towards the Gods.

The Gods love you. You are made in Their image. Or maybe— you make yourself in Their image. And that is beautiful.
