Johnshi & Gelphie Parallels
After listening to Wicked, I realized that "What Is This Feeling?" and "For Good" give such Johnshi vibes.
Elphaba and Glinda's relationship is similar to Johnny and Kenshi's. Like the two women, Johnny and Kenshi started disliking each other intensely and were unwilling to resolve. But it changed when an important moment brought them together- Elphaba wore Glinda's "gift" and Glinda danced with her when no one else would while Kenshi lost his sight protecting Johnny and Johnny took care of and encouraged Kenshi to keep going. Elphaba and Kenshi are similar since they are more withdrawn and serious. The same for Johnny and Glinda who are more comedic and self-centered, but kind. In the end, I like to believe Johnny and Kenshi see each other as the one that changed them for the better. That's why I love their intros together since we see how much they care about each other- Johnny asking Kenshi if Jax is a good guy and calling him his best friend while Kenshi takes time to go to Johnny's movie shoot and trusts him to take down the Yakuza by his side. If they become a couple at some point, I would beam with joy. They would be a great couple. I kind of doubt it could happen because of BladeCage, but I'm still going to dream.
Anyway, I'm going to be listening to "For Good" with Johnshi playing through my mind. 😂

Imagine a song fic based on "For Good" from Wicked where all Slider can do, a few days after Ice's death, think about the message he received from his best friend that morning, and realising that it was a goodbye: "Let me say this, Sli; so much of me is what I've learned from you. And whatever way your story ends, I can say for a fact that you have rewritten mine, by being my friend. And I know it was for good."
And Slider feels the same way because he knows that he and Ice changed each other, permanently, inescapably. But he thinks that it was for the better; that it was for good.
Word of advice for all the Top Gun and Broadway fans alike: don't listen/watch "For Good" while watching Maverick and Ice's scene in TGM. Just don't, unless you want to cry buckets of tears.
I mean, just look at them...!
