Who are your favourite characters from Eleceed and why do you like them?

Oh quasi, where do I begin? Where do I end?

Despite Eleceed's dumpster fire current plot, these characters still have such a chokehold on me; so here's a little list (Characters in no particular order)

I HAVE A LOT TO DAY THOUGH! SO I'LL BREAK THIS INTO PARTS

Part 1

1) Kartein

Favourite pathetic meow meow; he has so much skrunkly cat you find in the dumpster energy despite his posh appearance. The man is a treat to the eyes, and I LOVE his silly banter with Kayden. He has 2 braincells and both go into overdrive trying to "one up" Kayden. Yells at Jiwoo for getting a papercut

I'd say so far he's had the best character arc! Growing from his tendency to shut off his empathy, he eventually actively put his life on the line for the people he cared about in Astra arc. Actively admitted that he cared about them, loved them🥹🥹🥹

Says he hates Kayden then checks on him after every battle👀👀 His relationship with Kayden just makes everything 10x times better; they are married, divorced and getting back together all at once 💅

2) Jisuk

Best boi; has so much chaotic energy that he's really befitting to the wind attribute. CRIMINAL THAT HIM AND WOOIN AND SUBIN AREN'T GETTING SCREENTIME ANYMORE. He's fun and snarky, but also has so much emotional maturity!! He's the one to notice Jiwoo's insecurities and hype him!! He's the one who hugged Subin and knew what she was going through during her grandfather's illness!!!

If Kartein has had the best arc among adults, Jisuk has had the best one among the kids. Every little action of his!! Is motivated by love!! Love for his friends, love for his sister

This lonely boy stood up against Jaehyuk Lee for Jiwoo-all because Jiwoo was his first real friend

This boy stopped attending meetings as a kid because the awakened adults kept trying to pit him against his sister!!

Jisuk is rough around the edges, but he bleeds love and loyalty. He's grown from a prickly kid to a more emotionally mature and well adjusted young adult

3) Kayden

Kayden is amazing in a lot of respects; but I love him for his integrity

This is a man who had all the power of a top 10, but never really bullied anyone into his doing. He respects the Korean leaders, doesn't look down on anyone for being weak, helps Jiwoo out when he could've just left instead. He's the only one that Kartein allows to guard him while healing---that shows that Kayden keeps his word!!

Kayden's growth in the series is adorable too; he's still a killing machine, but he's now a killing machine who'll do it to keep the people he cares about safe (JIWOO AND KARTEIN!)

He's far more willing to accept his worry and love for Jiwoo; arguably the best father figure really.

That moment where Kayden tells Jiwoo that he can do whatever he wants to because he'll always have Kayden??? YEAH THAT LIVES RENT FREE IN MY HEAD

Refuses to take smack talk from anyone except Kartein👀👀 Actively looks out for Kartein and Jiwoo and is much softer around them

Kayden's love is as all consuming as his power; he's a beautifully complex character

IT NEEDS TO BE SAID!!!!

There was absolutely no need for romance in eleceed to begin with; it should've remained a story about platonic relationships

But nooooo, as if Jiwoo×Jiyoung wasn't unbearable and painful enough already, now the comic is set to butcher both gestella and Kayden's characters.

The thing about writing good romance is that, the characters should have

1) Proximity to each other over a period

2) Shared circumstances/values

3) Show the readers that they are equals and can rely on each other

Isn't is ironic that kayden×kartein checks all the 3 but kayden×gestella doesn't?

Their whole relationship is based off letters and misunderstandings, they DON'T EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER'S PERSONALITY

And as quasi pointed out, it's far too late to develop that kind of a bond, especially because kartein is right there!!! Even if KayStella becomes canon it will always be a cheapened version of what Karkay is

Seriously if you want to read good romance in action, read:

2) Spy×family

Eleceed's author has already shown his incapability for writing romance lol

My Gay Agenda aside, it honestly feels really late for Gestella to appear as a love interest for Kayden?

She only first appeared in Chapter 294, which seems like the middle of the comic. And the writers didn't even add backstory for Gestella and Kayden (like they did for Kayden & Kartein or Kayden & Pluton). They clearly don't know anything about each other.

(More detailed spoilers under the break. Screen readers stop now)

There's no way Gestella would believe how sappy those letters were if she knew Kayden, nor would Kayden have been so distrustful of her with Jiwoo if he knew that she had a decent personality (similar to his understanding that neither Kartein or Pluton would likely hurt Jiwoo, which is how he led Kartein to Jiwoo's house and only fought Pluton for jabbing at his ego rather than solely because he discovered their location).

Developing a relationship for KayStella from square one in the middle of the comic sounds like a clusterfuck waiting to fail.

Especially when the whole current basis of their relationship is them being pissed off at each other based on misunderstandings.

The forced romance only feels more jarring when Kartein and Kayden had the perfect romantic setup in contrast. They had a clear background from how they talked to each other, they knew how to get on each other's nerves, they could trust each other (in a bare sense but still), and Kartein was introduced in Chapter 136 which gives readers plenty of time to get to know him. Kartein has several major development arcs since his introduction and only became closer to Kayden. Kartein is a well-developed character whose relationship to Kayden never felt very forced or contrived solely for a romance plot. Kartein is actually a character by himself before he would be romantically inclined.

Therefore, the writers knew how to set up a character to have long-term development alongside Kayden while also getting development by themselves. So if anything, Gestella should have been the one introduced early on so we could get to know her.

I'm just pointing out that it's a mistake logistically for her to be introduced so late, compounded with having no shared background to Kayden. Their relationship will almost certainly be inferior to one that is well-developed over the majority of the comic versus halfway through.

Because personally, I adore Gestella, stupid plotline aside. So the way the writers throw both her and Kayden under the bus for the forced romance plot really pisses me off on so many levels. The plot feels utterly disrespectful to their development. It makes Gestella yet another forced female love interest (which sucks even worse when the only main female characters are made solely for the males). Then randomly shoots a romance plot at Kayden even though he's been fine this whole time as just a cat dad to Jiwoo.

Again, Gay Agenda aside, even my Het Agenda is ruined by this. How am I supposed to ship their canon selves on such a shit foundation? (Although my headcanon ideas for them are still raging; I'm too much of a simp for them separately to not pair them together. Fuck)

Meanwhile, Gay Agenda at full rainbow power, Kartein and Kayden is obviously the queer romance that we will never get in canon. They were the perfect setup and have been since their first chapters. This forced heteronormative nonsense is why queer pairings are the majority of fandom ships, let's not lie.

Here's a list of the good things currently taking place in the eleceed fandom:

1) More and more people are hating on the jiwoo×jiyoung ship. All the newer webtoon comments bash the ship and I'm here for it😌

2) Increasing number of fans shipping kartein×kayden! The true unhinged pairing. The 270s certainly helped🥰

Now if only the platonic relationships would take center stage again 👉👈

Kartein: Teaming up with Kayden? That's ridiculous, such nonsense

Kartein: Who's friends with who? I can't stand to be within 5 feet of Kayden actually

Also Kartein: Pauses in the middle of the fight with a top 10 to check on Kayden, not ONCE, but TWICE. Actively more concerned about Kayden than his own wellbeing

Completely straight behaviour. Totally platonic; nothing to see here. He's totally not concerned for his husband or anything, they totally didn't get married after Astra arc

No thoughts, just:

Kartein jumping into a fight with a top 10, solely to distract them from Kayden; Kayden putting Kartein's safety above his own🥹

Very interesting that despite the presence of Pluton and 3 other top 10s, the core dialogue and mutual concern for each other revolves around these 2 only

Kartein's thoughts are always in the forefront when it comes to Kayden; both during and post the fight. Interestingly, Kartein is the only one Kayden visibly shows concern for right now, despite Pluton and him being equally at a disadvantage against top 10s

I wonder if I'm reading too much into it, but even so, NOTHING about these two is straight😭

You swiped down the notification and looked at the small text on top that determines which account of yours received it. Business account. You clicked on the notification and read the customer's message.

"SCHNKXG: Is the Everlight bouquet variation still available?"

"🌷Hi customer! Thank you for contacting Shelter of Flowers through our official Instagram account!

Yes! The variation Everlight bouquet is still available! Would you like to place an order?" You replied with the thought of the customer being someone familiar thanks to their username, The account having no profile picture nor posts and on private doesn't help satisfy the curiosity unfortunately.

"SCHNKXG: Yes, I'll be placing an order for that bouquet."

"🌷Certainly! Would you like the bouquet to be made of paper, crocheted yarn, or real flowers? Would it also be a small, medium, or large bouquet?"

Sometimes you just want to close down your shop with how jealous your customers make you feel, Yet, Playing a small part in your customer's love story makes you happy too, For the beauty of running a flowershop is seeing the efforts of people make someone feel loved, thought of, and cared for; dead or alive, In a romantic relationship or not. That's one thing hurtful when you run a flowershop, sometimes the person you like will order a bouquet from your shop for someone special to them. And we can't say that the special someone is you.

But why Sucheon Kang? out of all the people you could've liked why him? Why him of all people? Why did you like the hot-headed and prideful heir of Baekdu? Is it because of how he looked at you in the eyes with acknowledgement every single time? How he treated you like an actual authentic person and not just by an assumption of your character? Or something deep that struck right through you that weaved you to him immediately? Everything perhaps?

What should I even say? I don't want to seem like a creep or an obsessive stalker. I mean my name wouldn't be put on the note but still... Sucheon paced around his room, thinking.

Your phone vibrated with a notification, you put your pen down on the table and picked up your phone. A smile curved on your face as you read Sucheon's message.

"SCHNKXG: I miss you."

You sent him a reply before turning off you phone and continuing with your work. He sent another message, you picked up your phone again.

"SCHNKXG: I'm gonna call, I can't stand it anymore."

You chuckled reading his text before replying. "Okay :)."

Your phone rang and vibrated as soon as he called, you answered. "Hi Sucheon." You smiled. "Hi, I miss you- Wait... Sucheon? What happened to Suchy?" He asked, his brows slightly furrowed. "Oh my bad. Hi Suchy." "...Better."

You leaned your phone against your pencil holder and continued studying, and Sucheon silently watched you doing so.

"Suchy, I can hear the shutter sound of the screenshots you're taking."

"What screenshots?" He asked, clearly playing dumb and his ears are giving it away with how red they are.

You couldn't help but laugh with how he tried to deny it even if he knew that you already saw right through him. He loves how your laugh sounded, its such a sweet sound of happiness to his ears... And your smile? Call him delusional or in a hallucination but he swears he sees a light yellow aura radiating from you whenever a genuine smile curves on your face. Everything felt lighter and calmer whenever you're around, everything looked much more colorful and vibrant in his eyes, You're ethereal to him. His source of warmth. Who would've thought that you, a non-awakener would be someone deeply loved by him?

As deep as he loved you, the pain in his heart was just as deep as it too. The tears streaming down his face felt warm... But not the kind of warmth he liked, no. It's not your warmth. He's even unsure whether he'd view the feeling of warmth the same after this. He hated everything that's happening right now, he loathed it.

"What's taking so long, Sucheon? Don't tell me you've fallen hard for a pathetic non-awakener." Supil glared at his own son. "It's Baekdu, or them."

Sucheon's hand trembled, his breathing unstable and more tears streamed down his face. Choosing Baekdu means He'll lose you and betray himself. Choosing you, means He'll betray Baekdu and lose everything he worked for, Baekdu is dear to him. But not dearer than you. And he knew that, he knew he will always choose you.

But if Sucheon chose you, both of you would be killed. Afterall, the act of betrayal makes you a traitor. And what do people mostly do with traitors? Kill them. Be it physically or figuratively. What is Sucheon there for if he's no longer the heir? But what would people make of Baekdu if their heir left for a non-awakener? Who would take over Baekdu in the future if Sucheon is dead?

You raised your hand and pointed a makeshift gun at him with your fingers. "You're not the only one with a gun now, Suchy. Don't be afraid to shoot me." You softly smiled at him, knowing that either-way... It's you who'll wind up dead.

This is the first time Sucheon ever hated your smile and the warmth it brings him. How could you still smile at him when he's pointing a fucking gun at you? How could you smile at him when he's about to kill you? Stop smiling please... I don't want to remember your smile like this. Please. My dearest please. PLEASE STOP SMILING! LOOK AT ME WITH HATRED!

Baekdu or you...? Baekdu or...

Sucheon dropped the gun and for the first time in his life, he knelt down to the floor and begged. Begging to spare you, begging to let you live and he will ended things with you. Supil however, only looked at his son with a mixed expression. Is it disgust? Dissapointment? Dismay? It's not known. Yet it screams pity. Pity for his son that fell hopelessly in love with someone who isn't even an awakener like them. Pity that his son was this soft.

"I miss you." Sucheon softly sobbed, Looking at the photo of you in his phone. Regretting and wishing that you died in his hands instead of his fathers. Maybe your death wouldn't have been so painful. "I miss you." The tears streaming down his cheeks were warm... he hated it. He hated its warmth. He hated how it reminded him of you.

A little rant about Jiwoo Seo of Eleceed.

Before proceeding, I want to make it clear that I DO NOT HATE JIWOO SEO. I am just disappointed.

I just love the heads-up I am given when reading chapters where in Jiwoo is in a fight with someone stronger than him: the fucking flashbacks of him and his talk with Kayden about this and that which he remembers in the verge of losing the fight/middle of the fight. Best fucking indicator. Totally shocked that he won, such a shocker am I right? Best fucking example and way of explaining the word "repetition".

His battle with Ian Patrick is my last. Fucking. Straw.

I just can't comprehend that the GRANDSON and SUCCESSOR of a TOP 10 WORLD RANKER HIMSELF would LOSE to an independent awakener who's training under an influential figure in the awakened world/society is only in the span of 1 YEAR. Cause as far as I know training your awakened power ever since you could comprehend, read and write is SO MUCH MORE than just A YEAR. "But Jiwoo's training under Kayden is rigorous!" Yes I know, but any awakened one ESPECIALLY A SUCCESSOR OF A POWERFUL AWAKENED ONE OR AN ORGANIZATION goes through the SAME THING, he's not special for that. It's something mandatory and will obviously happen, It's just done differently. It's not rocket science.

If Kayden worked his ass off to be all that and shit, I would understand if it took him A LOT of time to achieve that cause aye he's self taught. But Jiwoo becoming all that in a span of 1 year? Huh??? Is the time timing here? "But Kayden is so great and the way he trains Jiwoo is tailored for him so that why-" Thats what a fucking teacher should do if their students style is different from them, like you accepted them you adjust your shit for them. And even if Kayden is all that doesn't mean his apprentice would also be all that but in a span of 1 year. The experience gap is not gaping. The power development is not power developmenting.

Like picture this, Sucheon worked his ass of since he was 6 to be as strong as he is right now so thats 12 years of experience from 12 years of rigorous training and from the face value of it, He is fucking strong. Now compare that 12 years of experience to 1. Logically we would think that the 12 years slams 1 year. But no. Apparently, the 1 year slams the 12 years. See what I mean by the experience gap not gaping? And the power development is not power developmenting? Like that alone is just "what???" Worthy. What reaction could the Grandson + successor of a top 10 world ranker with lets say 13 years of experience and real rigorous training losing to 1 year of rigorous training?

And remember the girl who mind fucks people in the manhwa? Logically, she'd slam Jiwoo. Jiwoo didn't receive training to fight against those kind of awakeners cause as far as I know Kayden isn't a mind fucker type, nor would he get/trust someone who has a mind ability to teach Jiwoo to defend himself against those cause that's fucking stupid.

Not to mention the red haired big boy in the world awakened academy, He's fucking smart for destroying the ground. He knows what he's doing, but too bad the plot armors odds is against you big guy. Apparently, Jiwoo doesn't trip even with a high chance if doing so even at max speed thanks to the floor all cracked.

What only sets Jiwoo apart from the rest from what I've noticed is that: 1. Him and his power is not used as a political tool like some/most successors in the awakened world/society with how he is an independent awakener. 2. He no longer sees his power through a negative light after discovering others like him. 3. How he doesn't get traumatized by the shit he went through and doesn't develop any issues after it and even fucking forgive them. Like??? Come on let's be real, he'd have fucking PTSD with all that kidnapping and torture shit he went through 'cause he's Kayden's disciple and would definitely think of quitting at some point.

Conclusion, Plot amor is plot armoring heavily for Jiwoo.

|Scene/Imagine context: It's a school field trip and you are seated next to Sucheon in the bus. You fell asleep and your head rested against his shoulder.|

•If it were anyone else, Sucheon would definitely move (Or push) their head off of him and is unapologetic about it—cause why should he care? (This also applies to you IF you're not close with him).

•If it were you however its a different story. In a platonic perspective, I can see him not minding at all as long as you DO NOT drool in your sleep. In a romantic sense, Crush context: His breathing would get a little heavy to maintain a composed demeanor, the blush on his ears says a lot on how much he's panicking inside/flustered he is though. He would be STRESSING. Not moving much too as to not wake you up. In a relationship context: He would definitely rest his head against yours and hold your hand—would also not move too much to not wake you up.

•Chances are pretty high that Sucheon will adjust you to a more comfortable position if your position looks like you'd crack your spine any moment now. (While making sure he's comfortable too, to avoid moving around and adjusting all the goddamn time).

•Inyeong is seated in front of you and Sucheon with Hyeonga. He was about to show Sucheon something on his phone when he saw it. He looked at the two of you first, then to Sucheon—grinning at him mockingly/teasingly before snapping a photo of it (He definitely showed it to Hyeonga).

•I can also see Sucheon leaning to the window—If he's in the window seat—and sitting a bit slanted so that you could lean against him—on his chest—and sleep more comfortably. He'd use his arm for support to keep himself upright if you're the one in the window seat.

I can kinda see him sneaking glances to you, admiring you and stuff but I think thats just me.

Cai has been real shit these past few months ever since its not version 1.7.4 anymore. Bots fr dissappeared out of thin air and you cant find them anymore (well you can if you know the creators user but you can't chat them if you open the convo) The filter also censors a bots reply to something un-nsfw you messaged like??????? Ok guess I won't chat then? Website also doesn't let you in after recommending to be used. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and create bots. •A light sleeper that is easily waken up even with the most subtle movement anywhere near him when he sleeps or the smallest noise being made.

•I can (somehow) imagine him learning how to play a guitar (He'd definitely go for the electric one) and like he got everything he could possibly need and purchased a really good guitar too—only to get frustrated with how the strings are too hard and is hurting his fingers to the point he just can't play at all and left the guitar and the materials he got in his closet to rot. "What the fuck you can change strings?" I can hear him saying that if he finds out you can change the guitar strings to one you're more comfortable in using.

•Definitely gets pissed at the claw machines. I can see him pinching his nose bridge in annoyance if the prize is dropped when its so near to the hole where prizes are dropped in. I think he broke one or two claw machines.

•Has the meanest side eyes and/or eye rolls.

•Better start praying if you show up to an unhinged/out of pocket insults contest and you see him there cause for some reason, even the most basic ahh insults becomes so mean when it comes from him. (His insults fr piss at the soul)

•If he were a character in the Mean Girls, he'd definitely be Regina George.

•He's definitely not misogynistic, racist, homophobic or anything of the likes (Its pretty hard to see him that way too cause it just don't sit well nor does it fit well at all.) but he is definitely the quote "It doesn't matter what you are cause if you suck, you suck."
