Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.
Im Never Happy.

“I’m never happy.”

Hope you don’t mind if we don’t believe this :) I’ve tried to collect those moments where we could see his genuine smile (w/o any ulterior motive). But for a special note: check his eyes when he sees Katara’s (& Sokka’s happiness when they reunited w their father :) & when hears June’s remark about Katara being his girlfriend…..  Eyes widened… which basically sign of surprise but also happiness (315)… & excitement (319)….

I’m at the point where the book is getting kinda creepy. Ion mind gore and fighting. But start talking about dark tunnels and whispering in the dead of night,,, yeah nope (especially since i read in the dead of the night myself).

Not to mention the part im up to is showing some sort of evil force taking over the duke. Makes sense that the evil spirit or whatever it is needs some sort of host to see what’s happening and such. But Chaol better be careful cuz the duke was staring while he was leaving the dining hall.

I have only three ( i think?) thoughts

Nehimia used the wyrdmarks to gain power for her rebellion

Cain is the one doing the wyrdmarks cuz he’s confident in the thought that he’s gonna win

OR we are being misled and someone who hasn’t been named yet or in the shadows is the one doing the work.

Something is making me point at cain rather than nehemia. She was cold to Celaena when they talked in the library before the ball, but why was she pained the next day? It couldn’t have been for show. As for cain, the fucker was digging at one of the stones a lot of chapters ago. My only concern is that nehemia, even while saying she’s a friend to Celaena, she has yet to even tell her anything even when she knows about what wyrdmarks are.

Also it’s crazy that this is all happening after the king left to do his royal duties. I get that it makes the most sense to do it then, but damn whoever summoning the demons (which is what im guessing is the evil being) is annoying as shit.

Anyway can’t wait for dorian and celaena to fool around. I see that they like each other but with spoilers i know they don’t last 😭. I also know something that gets revealed in later books and im sad that i know that. I already knew she wasn’t an average girl,,, like you the main character ain’t know way u just an assassin, but i would have liked to piece her identity together myself 😭.

______________———————————

So,, my memory got back and cain was scared one of those days. I can’t remember when but he was clawing at his throat and ran away in front of celaena. So damn it might just be nehemia.

Ah before i forget!!

Mr Dorian highness, please don’t be like Maven Calore(red queen).

I’m hoping your similarities end at your appearance. My black hair and blue eyed boys 😭 and both princes at that. If I have to suffer through the pain of what happened with Maven with Dorian,, I might need an hour break from reading (because i will continue even while in pain 😂).

THEORY: what if the king is also a creature or being from another world? If the feeling celaena is getting from him is the same as the one that the portals summoned by cain give her,,, then he too must be magic related.

Maybe he got rid of all magic to be the only one to Weald it. But it doesn’t make sense when it comes to the wyrdmarks and gates. Why keep the knowledge of those around? Whatever the case, this is a half baked theroy anyway. Tis just smthn that crossed my mind.

(Just started chapter 44, the king is back from the trip he was on and he crossed paths with celaena and chaol.)

Ah the king really is a rat bastard.

If Kingdom of Ash is referring to his kingdom, then great. Can’t wait to see this fucker somehow suffer.

My guess for the second book is that she’ll see the plans slowly unravel and keep track of them along with getting the kings weakness. But of course that has to wait. Knowing it’s going to be stopped at a cliffhanger, I’m going to start on Assassins blade. I really want to know everything that’s being referenced to as well.

Oohh and they gave a hint to her fae lineage through queen Elana’s words, which was cool. I already guessed as much in the beginning when they were in the forest bringing her to the glass castle and she found tiny footprints next to her along with flowers (and of course mentioning the forest and those who used to protect them).

I just want to know more about her parents and the wyrdmarks because how does Nehemia know them but she doesn’t. Especially when since she’s a descendant of the fae. Unless, the fae don’t dabble in those arts and rather use environmental/natural magic.

Anywho im excited. I heard there’s a novella that’s especially heart wrenching and im betting it on being sam’s story with celaena.

Finished ACOTAR and I can confidently say I’m team Rhysand already. I can already smell the enemies to lovers and i’m dreading to see what Tamlin did for so many to hate him.

(Though I have this problem where I understand most perspectives, so even if he did wrong i’ll prolly consider why he did it and if it was worth it and what not, i’ll peolly even consider if it’s within the bounds of his fae morals, sighs)

[Chapter 13; page 76]

So was no one,, NO ONE going to tell me Aaron is such an asshole in the first chapters ( i don’t know if he gets better or not)

All i hear about this man is that he’s a book boyfriend. LADIES HES NOT EVEN STARTING OUT MORALLY GRAY! He’s my favorite color instead: red.

Like I’m loving the villain vibes but how is this guy gonna win her over. I say it like this because he wants his soldier to chase her knowing full well that he will be harmed if he touches Juliette, this mofo ahhhhh.

[chapter 17]

I have a theory. But i don’t know how good the theory really is. So in the blurb it says that this is somewhat a superhero story and knowing that Warner is endgame for Juliette, it made me think that he could possibly have his plans for the rebellion. It is now specifically stated that he is a part of the reestablishment and was able to get the position through hard work and his dad. But something tells me that he has bigger plans and that’s why he needs this position.

In this chapter, he shoots a man through the forehead for helping the rebels. My guess is that if the soldiers are caught doing these acts he has no choice but to kill them, or else his position would be put into question and his motives as well.

Now…let’s keep reading and see how stupid this theory is 😪

Korra’s Growth

Korra’s growth, at least for me, is the highlight of the Legend of Korra. She starts out incredibly brash, over confident, headstrong, and stubborn. She pays for these characteristics time and time again throughout the series and it is through these consequences that Korra is able to grow into the understanding and empathetic avatar of the series finale. “No good deed goes unpunished, no act of charity goes unresented.” This seems to be the template for Korra’s trials and tribulations because no matter how hard she tries to help she is always met with criticism and anger. Time and time again she is told that the world would be better off without her and that balance would be achieved with her gone. She begins to doubt whether being the avatar even matters and she has to discover herself and her place in the world to come to her own conclusion. She must accept the past and learn from it to move forward and become the avatar that the world and the people need and to create true balance within the world.

Korra’s journey is the exact opposite of Aang’s in that his was about coming to identify himself as the avatar whereas Korra’s is about learning to identify herself separate from the avatar. Aang was allowed to be a child and person first before he discovered he was the avatar which lead to his ability to connect with other people, including his enemies even at the beginning of the series. Korra, on the other hand, was immediately thrust into the identity of the avatar so she based her entire being and self worth on being the avatar. She was put on this pedestal right away and didn’t have the chance to develop as a person outside of that identity which lead to her struggle to connect with other people, especially her enemies.

Korra starts out overconfident in her still developing abilities, but actually grows to underestimate her abilities after being torn down by her enemies. This leads to humbling her and causes her to rebuild her self-esteem based on who she is and not what she is to the world. This mirrors her growth from trying to force change to mediating and refraining from fighting until necessary and being a conduit for change, which leads to balance. She goes through a pacifistic maturation. Korra’s confidence is broken down over the course of the first three seasons and is built back up through her self actualization making her confidence non-toxic to social, societal, and confrontational situations. Because Korra understands herself and her powers she is able to use them to be an effective force for change and balance.

Korra’s Growth (Book 1: Air)

Korra starts out having been separated from the world and immediately put on the pedestal of being the avatar. This leads to her entire self-identity and self-esteem being based around being the avatar. She isn’t allowed to establish herself as a person before she is discovered to be the avatar. This lead to her valuing her physical strength and bending prowess as the visual measure of her worth. When that physical side comes into question her entire self-identity is shaken and she doesn’t know how to deal with it which leads to frustration. This frustration feeds the impulsive characteristics she already has and leads to poor decisions, which she is faced with consequences for time and time again.

In the first season Korra’s overconfidence and brash attitude put her into many precarious situations. She challenges Amon to a one on one and ends up ambushed and almost gets her bending taken away. She refuses to shut down the pro bending championship and the arena ends up attacked and Amon sends a signal to the rest of the world that the revolution is a force to be reckoned with. She gets ambushed by Hiroshi and kidnapped by Tarrlock after jumping into situations she wasn’t fully prepared for. All of her actions come from good intentions, but she doesn’t know how to enact them in a way that brings about a peaceful resolution because of her inexperience with society and other people as a whole. Korra struggles with the conflict of wanting and being expected to bring change and balance with her lack of social experience which is the root cause of her inferiority superiority complex as well as coming right after Aang, one of the most influential and powerful avatars. It’s made very clear that up until this point Korra is desperate to prove herself to others and herself. She is struggling to balance her waning confidence by being in the shadow of Aang with the impending threat that Amon and the equalists face. When the equalists finally make their bid for the city and everything goes south Korra is forced to face the outcome of her inability to adapt to the circumstances and develop her power. This is a wake up call for Korra who hadn’t had to adapt to anything within the confines of the white lotus compound. Her lack of experience when it comes to the world and its complex inner workings left her wholly unprepared for the equalists and their revolution. Korra is forced to realize that the situation won’t wait for her to be ready to face it and that she has to step up to the plate in spite of her spiritual and airbending shortcomings.

She rushes to finish Amon to save the city, after finding reasons to avoid the situation until this point, and loses her bending in the process. Korra’s biggest fear becomes a reality. The physical strength and bending she so prided and based her self-worth on has been taken away. How can she be the avatar if she can’t bend the four elements? She reaches her lowest point, but instead of having to face her worst nightmare she is given a way out through the past avatars. Korra then comes to think that her powers can solve all of her problems, that her powers are a get out of jail free card. Amon was the biggest and first threat she had faced until that point so her careless mindset when it comes to her power develops because of this outcome. This makes her attitude at the beginning of season 2 make complete sense. Korra throughout season one was slowly becoming less brash, but because she managed to get her bending back through her avatar abilities she becomes even more overconfident in her power. With season two her over confidence and lack of thought for consequences due to the ending of season one had to be excised through the trials and tribulations she faced once again. To overcome this she had to face something that challenged her weaknesses and made it so that she couldn’t rely on her powers to be a get out of jail free card so that she no longer had that safety cushion and would be forced to move past her carelessness.
