“Magically composed works can convey many ‘texts’ at once; a singular word can open many unseen paths. When eye meets eye in knowing it does not matter if a mask is worn.”

What reading or background knowledge would you consider to be a pre-requisite for starting Viridarium Umbris?

I'm honestly not sure what I would suggest, other than maybe trying to learn what you can about Eruopean Wort Cunning and the Cultus Sabbati first. Others are welcome to give their own suggestions to this, though!

“By virtue of its assimilative power beyond the confines of mortal self-hood, the Transmutative Mind is, in each moment of Being, renewed & transformed through a continual integration of all Otherness. This is accomplished by the immediate correlation & cohesion of ingressing experiences & thoughts to negate all past syntheses in consciousness without attachment to identity or object. This negation, being sufficient to maintain an openness of Mind or ‘Receptive Void’, is thus potent to create ever new synthesis & thus maintain a Non-modality of Being in the Perpetuity of Pure Thought. By Rite, Contemplation & Arcana, & in manner akin to the Apotheosis of the Shape-shifters Arte, the Mind herein attains focus’d motility from state unto state through a Knowing Pageant of Selves & thus is possessed of an ever-changing current of Divine Inspiration. Such inspiration bestows the transcendence of mortal noetic awareness & if granted, by the Grace of Our Daimonic Muse, unto an intuitive & magically guided intellect, it is the Natural Innocence, Insatiate Curiousity & Indomitable Wisdom of the Eternal Child-God. Verily, by this Arcanum cometh the Heresiarch’s Joy: the paneclecticism of the True Sorcerous Ethos.”

Hi! Sorry to disturb you. Are there any books or articles you would suggest to aid in understanding the Azoetia? I have little trouble with the words themselves but often struggle with the subtler meanings.

I haven't seen any primers on Azoetia. To get the subtler aspects of it, you might start to construct your own practice based on his example (Azoetia is an example of a personal practice grimoire and how it was built working with spirits). I'd suggest to try the automatic writing and drawing to begin with to create your pwn similar personal practice. I find it helps to examine his sources, if you can track down some of Austin Ozman Spare's books on automatic writing, drawing, the alphabet of desire and the witches sabbath. I find those are key among his many writings to help with Azoetia..

My not so subtle objective with this blog is to get pagan bloggers and wizard bloggers into modern esoteric texts so that I have more people to talk about the Azoetia and Dragon Book with.
