A personal headcanon of mine is that phoenix rubs and pats people’s heads when he trusts them or feels close to them, maya, pearl, trucy, and athena love when he does it, because trucy knows he only does that because he’s close to her and athena can feel how happy he is when gets to do it, maya likes to do it to him in return, and pearl just loves pats in general and it’s a bonus if mr.nick is the one doing them,oh and trucy gets that habit from him too.

Apollo complains whenever pheonix pats/rubs his head because it ruins his hair but he secretly likes it.

Phoenix does it to miles at times but not before he asks if it’s alright cuz imo miles isn’t a fan of physical touches especially unprompted.

And Phoenix gets happier when someone does it to him.

So, aai1 brainrot doesn't want to go away. So here's my hcs what happened during KG-8 incident. Especially with Kay, Byrne and Badd. I might turn this into the comic, if I'll have the motivation to.

Attempt on Badd's life, the trial and tribulations of the KG-8 Incident.

So, the KG-8 happened in 2009. A day before the trial begins Badd goes home after a long day at the precinct, but after awhile he notices strange people following him. Turns out they were hitmen that were supposed to get rid of him before the trial. They chase Badd for a while, making some of the holes in the trenchcoat. Trying to get help, Tyrell diales the first number he had — Faraday's.

Byrne was on the walk with Kay, when he got the call. When he picked up the phone he was a little surprised by this late call, but then he was totally scared after he heard gunshots from Tyrell's end. The latter quickly told his friend his location, but didn't manage to say what was happening, as he was finally cornered. The hitmen shot him twice* in the abdomen and Tyrell was basically left to die with Faraday still on the call.

Byrne had quickly reported everything that happened to the police and called an ambulance, and went to the scene himself. He had nowhere to leave Kay, so he brought her along. Byrne left her in the police car, tho, so that she doesn't see the scene. Tyrell was unconscious with some small black scraps of paper, that burned green*.

So, Badd was taken to the hospital, and Byrne was left with no lead detective with trial on his hands. The next day after this whole incident Byrne still went in court, not going to back down. But that day was full of surprises.

Firstly, completely unexpectedly, Badd appeared in the courthouse before the begging of the trial. He told Faraday everything that happened to him, including that before he passed out, he felt someone was looking for something in his trenchcoat. Byrne didn't pay to much attention to it, instead focusing on his friend's health. Tyrell said that he was okay, but continued to drink a lot of water* and looked very pale. Before they started taking about serious stuff, they asked Kay to buy the swiss rolls.

Secondly, when the trial had began, Byrne found out that the tape was missing from the evidence files. It turns out the hitmen stole Badd's card that opened his evidence lock (I think it's before the locks that are opened by fingerprints were invented). The tape was stolen from there, and prosecution had lost their most important and decisive evidence.

The defense attorney was paid a lot by the smuggling ring, so he forged some evidence, "destroying" Tyrell's logic during the cross-examination.

Due to lack of evidence from the prosecution, the trial ended in one day. Manny Coachen got his not guilty verdict. After these words left judge's mouth a woman screamed in sadness and despair (Callisto Yew).

After the court was adjourned, Byrne was furious and Badd felt worse than ever. Callisto found them outside of the courtroom and introduced herself as the sister of the departed Cece Yew. Badd bowed and said his sincerest apologies.

Callisto, unimpressed, slaped him and told that she never wanted to see them again. Badd stays in this bowing position until she left. Shortly afterwards his gaze got fuzzy and some blood appeared once more on his shirt.

After another very fun (not really) trip to the hospital, Faraday found out that right after regaining his consciousness, Badd started mumbling about the case and the testimony. He nearly went to the courthouse right away, but the nurses persuaded at least to bandage him up. Due to stress, exhaustion and the slap, the wounds reopened so he needed immediate attention.

This is just some rough ideas and hcs. I feel like Badd is the type of a person to just walk off two bullets in his stomach lmao. Von Karma could never.

Now to explain some stuff:

Two shots:

come from Badd's design. Specifically because of two bullet holes in his tie. He's either a Neo from Matrix, or got shot at least once.

Green flames:

It's because the hitmen burned the directive card written in Babahlese ink.

Water

I heard that if someone donors blood they should drink water so that the body can restore some fluids. So despite saying he's okay, Badd felt nauseous and exhausted. He also lost a lot of blood the day before the trial, so he drinks water to at least feel okay-ish.

Yesterday, right before I went to sleep, I came up with another headcanon about Byrne and why he made Yatagarasu.

After the KG-8 incident and nearly loosing his friend, Byrne pondered what and how to do. He can't risk people's lives, yet he can't just abandon the case. He is very determined to bring those, who can't be brought to court, to justice. So after a few days he came up with the idea of the Yatagarasu. Since it isn't one person and, with Badd's help, the real identity of this person couldn't be traced down, the smuggling ring wouldn't be able to hurt/kill someone. Also the mantle of Yatagarasu allows to fight the criminals outside of the courtrooms and find the truth more efficiently. Despite having this idea he had no way of making this idea in reality before they met Callisto again.

Also, a little bit unrelated, but after passing out in the courtroom Badd was determined to continue the investigation (like Franziska was determined to continue prosecuting tho she was shot). He wanted to leave the hospital right after his operation, but Faraday forced him to stay in the hospital. Byrne literally had threatened to cut Badd's salary if he doesn't stay at the hospital.

I see Faraday as a good person, who cares deeply about his friends and family. But he has a little bit of the anger issues and would rather die than say he cares. Faraday would bring flowers for Badd in hospital, but say smt like "if you try to step outside this hospital room I'll beat you to death with this bouquet myself".

Oh, that's some good hcs, op! It would be really interesting to see him and Gregory face off in court. Allow me to share mine.

- Byrne met Badd when he was 22-24 and detective was 34-36.

- also Byrne became prosecutor around that age too

- when IS-7 was happening, Badd frequently vented about it to Faraday

- despite how many crap Faraday gave to Gumshoe for being late, he himself was late to his crime scene for almost an hour lmao

- Badd and him call each other by their first time only when they're very serious.

- And when Kay was born he called Detective to the hospital.

- when Tyrell held Kay in his arms for the first time he was super afraid to accidentally hurt her. Byrne took the picture of this moment and jokingly blackmailing Badd with it.

- Badd was the one who came up with the nickname little thief when newborn Kay stole his lollipop

- Faraday's wife died when Kay was around 4-5 and Faraday was very depressed for a lot of time

- The thought of the yatagarasu came to Byrne after KG-8 and is heavily based on the idea of not letting innocent suffer (cuz in my hc Badd got shot during the investigation)

- he was hesitant to invite Badd in the group, not because he thought he would reject his offer, but because he didn't want to put his friend in more danger than he was already in.

- on lighter note, he had short temper and cursed a lot, before Kay (and even after, but when she couldn't hear)

- he also was really passionate about justice and finding truth. So much he annoyed Von Karma greatly lmao

- during some trials Byrne would purposefully lose, if he believed the defendent was innocent

- if we wanna throw some spice in, Byrne had a thing for Badd, but never acted on it, cuz he thought Tyrell didn't think of him that way (he totally did)

- Little thief has the ability to make security cameras buffer

AAI fans, reblog/comment on this post with your Byrne Faraday headcanons (backstory, personality, sexuality, likes/dislikes, etc. literally anything, no matter how random), I want to see what the overall consensus on him is.

I'll start off with some of mine:

-He's bisexual

-He designed those weird retina scanners they have at the Prosecutor's Office in the anime

-He had the Yatagarasu/Little Thief taglines Kay recites written down in his diary

-He gave Badd the hand mirror he carries in his coat pocket

-He faced off against Gregory Edgeworth at the beginning of his prosecutor career and lost.

Oh knowing Pheonix yeah it would eat him alive and edgeworth or maya would probably have to talk him down every time.

Probably just projecting, but since he does try to save those who don’t wanna be saved, he likely would have trouble with the concept of: “just because I didn’t try every single possible solution doesn’t mean I didn’t try and make an effort. That’s not my fault. It’s okay to fail sometimes.”

He’s like that traumatized kid of some military strict parent who hammered in the concept: “if you don’t try every possible tactic, every possible route, push every possible button, then you’re a failure to me and you’re failing yourself, you’re letting everyone down, and it’s because you were too lazy to try.”

So yeah it definitely eats him alive. Even though Kristoph literally did everything in his power to sabotage everything Phoenix loved and worked for in his life for a selfish motive, Phoenix still thinks it was some how his responsibility to fix his broken soul and he failed.

Again, probably just projecting :’)

do you guys ever think about how phoenix thought black psyche locks couldnt be broken when he saw them on kristoph, but proved himself wrong when he broke athena's? do you think it eats him up inside that it might have been possible to break kristoph's locks, he just never tried?

he didnt have all the information to break them and i doubt kristoph would let him try. but goddamn that doesnt mean phoenix "saviour complex" wright wouldnt pace outside of the visitation room, magatama in hand, thinking could i do this? should i do this?

Hmmm I have a few, but some aren’t original. It do be like that. I’ll share anyways just in case.

Miles will never admit it, certainly not to Phoenix or anyone else, but I think he gets baby fever. Like terribly. He sees the little socks and shoes and gloves when they go out to the store, and he fucking melts, like a bowl of ice cream in a house fire.

Conversely, to build on your idea, Phoenix has mixed emotions when it comes to babies because he’s constantly scared he’s going to hurt them, and they cannot communicate that, so he just. Panics. About. Everything. He does think they’re cute, but they freak him out because he feels like he’s a freight train and their fragile little beings made of tempered glass that can shatter at a moments notice.

Phoenix I also imagine is built like a tank. He’s got big ass hands and forearms. Good mix of muscle to fat. (Especially post 7 year gap. I feel like he got to be a bit scrappy and gained some muscularity as a result.) He has those thiccc dad bod abs going for him, so he’s got just the perfect amount of chubby to be the perfect pillow. So if they’re snuggling or trying to watch something, whatever have you, the minute miles relaxes, Phoenix becomes a pillow, cause his bf overworks himself and never gets enough sleep.

Because Phoenix is built like a tank, he withstands a lot of injuries. Perhaps more than he should really be able to.

Which is good because, due to his broad build, he’s like a bull in a china shop. Constantly. He trips over his own feet, he runs into shit, the whole nine yards. It’s not bad luck. He’s clumsy as fuck. Which is why also, Phoenix CANNOT dance.

Miles thinks it’s hilarious to watch Pheonix try though.

However, despite his big ol man hands and clumsiness Phoenix can be such a perfectionist when it comes to details, especially art and music. And he’s delicate about the way he handles his art supplies. (To be honest, imagining this big ol man holding a tiny little stick of graphite like he’s trying to perform brain surgery, and succeeding is hilarious to me). But he’s private about his talents. Doesn’t like to show off. He hides his sketchbooks and only really sings when he’s drunk off his ass or by himself. He gets super embarrassed despite being really good at music and art.

Miles still finds his sketchbooks and flips through them anyways because he’s proud of his talented himbo bf and loves his art, and gets starstruck when he hears this fucking unit of a man hitting a whistle note while belting his current favorite songs and washing the dishes fucking flawlessly like he’s performing on broadway.

What Phoenix doesn’t know is that quiet sweet and low baritone that he thinks is from his phone whenever he’s singing, is his boyfriend quietly duetting with him from the other room, because miles has a decent voice himself, and can’t help himself when his partner sounds like a damn popstar just doing chores. Phoenix is almost always too engrossed to notice another voice has joined the chorus.

Speaking of, being terrible at piano was 100% him playing it up. He’s actually really good, and was probably a part of choir and orchestra in high-school, and did it for years. But that doesn’t make sense for a seedy restaurant with an underground poker ring he actively participates in for information. So he bluffed at being bad.

Despite his embarrassment about his penchant for art, phoenix often doodles little drawings of miles on his work documents when he gets bored.

Maya definitely takes photos and sends them to miles when Phoenix isn’t looking. Miles thinks it’s fucking adorable.

I love the concept that Pheonix has heterochromia iridium, but he puts in contacts to blend in better. I think he’s been doing it most of his life. I’d like to think he inherited heterochromia from his mom, who either had sectoral or centralized heterochromia herself.

I feel like miles is built really broad but is also really lean so Phoenix gets insecure about it sometimes because hawt damn supermodel looking ass build there miles, and miles has to have the “babe I’m Demi, other people couldn’t steal me from you if they tried” talk.

That being said miles is still weaker than Phoenix.

Phoenix could throw miles over his shoulder and parade him around if he wanted to.

Also, Phoenix is COVERED in scars. He just is. Miles thinks it’s hot tho.

I think that Phoenix’s hair is just like that, though he intentionally exaggerates the spikiness just cause he always has. He just has a bunch of wavy cowlicks that sweep back and flare up at the ends. The first time miles tries to get his hair to its “natural state” Phoenix has to explain that his hair is just like that. This baffles the shit outta miles.

Also, Miles is possessive. Mostly because his oblivious bf doesn’t realize that he turns a lot of heads too. Phoenix thinks miles gets the most attention, when it’s really rather equal. Also, it doesn’t help that Phoenix has the whole bakery on his backside from cycling everywhere. The extra attention makes miles hella jealous and possessive. Phoenix has no idea why but loves it anyways.

Despite Phoenix being a tank, he’s a lightweight (Asian glow babes, he has it). And a giggly, happy drunk.

Miles is a heavyweight, from living in Germany for so damn long, but when he gets drunk, he gets bold and does shit he definitely wouldn’t normally do. Like flirt. Aggressively. With his boyfriend. In public. Or absolutely kill it on the dance floor. Or sass people. You get the idea.

Larry and maya may or may not have some video blackmail of one drunk prosecutor from some random party he and Phoenix attended. They’ll never tell.

I don’t know why but I think Phoenix just likes frogs. I think the big ol eyes and the constant grumpy face they make reminds him of miles. Or he just thinks they’re cute. Either way. He loves em. Especially tree frogs. They’re his favorite.

Miles loves orchids. He’s always thought they’re beautiful and practical, since the blooms last for so long. And he can literally do nothing and ignore them, drown them in water once every one to two weeks, and they’ll put out huge blooms. It’s impressive, honestly. And utterly baffling to Phoenix how orchids are also the only plants miles can keep alive.

I have some nrmt headcanons for you to celebrate the occasion

Phoenix does most of the cooking at home. Miles is notoriously a very bad cook, but whenever he does make an attempt, Phoenix "Iron Stomach" Wright eats it anyway and tells him he loves it.

Conversely, Miles is a very good baker. His favorite part is laying out all the ingredients before he starts in a bunch of little ramekins

Whenever Miles is having a bad day at work, the first thing he does when he gets home is take off his shoes and his coat. Then, he silently bumbles around the house until he finds Phoenix, and then he lays down on top of him

Once, Phoenix borrowed a DVD using Miles' library card and lost it before he got home. It's been five months and he's looked for it every single day, and he's terrified to tell Miles it's missing + find out about the late fee

Miles found the DVD the day after Phoenix lost it. He turned it in on the day it was due and is waiting to see how long Phoenix will take to confess. He's wondering if it would be funny or cruel to stage his own arrest for excess library fees.

Apollo has a crush on Miles and, conversely, Klavier has a crush on Phoenix. None of them have any idea.

Despite the fact that Phoenix is good with children of any age, Miles is actually the better of the two at handling babies. This is primarily because most of Phoenix's kids get to him as Standing and Walking children

As most of Miles' nightmares faded after AA3, Phoenix actually started getting some of his own after the bridge and "the big reveal." Miles likes to comfort him by holding his head to his chest, running his fingers through his hair, and humming to him. It's very soothing for both of them

I’d personally like to think Trucy knew what Phoenix was asking and was like “sic ‘em pops” because if I’m honest I’d want to get back at the dude who threw my life into shambles in the most poetic way possible too. Especially if the person they threw into shambles with me took me in without a second thought and stepped up for me because I was vulnerable, even if they were also hurt in the process too. Especially in trucy’s case where she comes to see Phoenix as her real father, and Phoenix adores Trucy as his daughter.

“You forged evidence and used me? Well, oopsies! Looks like the evidence you wanted to use against us was forged as well! Silly me, silly papa, how in the world did that happen? Oh? I delivered it? Well how was I supposed to know that it wasn’t real, that’s not my job, I’m just a silly teenager!”

I also believe she is far too perceptive to have not figured it out.

Like yeah, it’s not the merciful, righteous, “truth is unveiled in court” reveal that Phoenix would have pulled off pre disbarment, and it’s certainly not moral or legal the way he outs Kristoph, which definitely shows how he’s lost a lot of faith in the law because at the end of the day it failed both himself and his daughter tremendously, and it also shows how he’s willing to Bend and break rules if he deems it necessary- which he kind of didn’t before- but those are like, the bitter, scorned reactions I expect from someone who was failed so terribly. Phoenix and Trucy were both hurt by Phoenix’s disbarment. They bonded together through that hurt. Lived with it. Suffered through and persevered. But that anger would still be there, bubbling under the surface. And an opportunity to get revenge on someone who hurt you in a terribly satisfying way? Ooo boy. I’d take it. I’d take it and run.

a pawn twice over

I have a head canon that phoenix have two moms. One is transgender the other are born woman.

His transgender mom gone through surgery when he was 5 or 6 yrs old.

Because I personally hc Maya as being a metal fan (it just makes sense to me) I can totally Imagine her playing metal music out loud in her house and Pearl becoming a fan partly because it's Maya's favourite music and partly because she doe's quite how it sounds.

Pearl Fey listens to death metal

The funniest Ace Attorney head canon I've seen is Miles Edgeworth having a British accent. especially since he was born and raised in America, and probably also Germany from age 9 as his "big sister" Fanziska seems to of been born and raised there (and personally I'm Manfred adopted him believer).

So idk where a British accent would come from, is it just because he wears fancy suit, is an antagonist and drinks tea?

With all this said I saw a fun version of this head canon where Miles has specifically an oxford British accent because he trained himself to be good at multiple accents as a child and, decided he like using that one as his default accent the most. Wish I remembered the fanfic I saw this amazing hc in though :/

Random Ace Attorney head canons I have

(spoilers for AA1-5, haven't played the other games yet.)

The Payne's and the Edgeworth's are distant relatives, the Payne's don't know this, but Miles does, Miles does not enjoy this fact at all

Franziska and Kristoph do speak English with a German accent but, it's not super thick as they both practiced speaking English from young age

Klavier also learnt English from a young age but likes to exaggerate his accent and, say the occasional German word, because he thinks it makes him more sexy

Larry has rich snobbish parents who were super strict and neglectful, he never got along with them (being the class clown partly to rebel against them, and partly for fun) and moved out after dropping out of highschool

The Blackquills are British (I mean this is kinda canon cuz Simon is British coded but still wanna mention it)

Maya loves metal music and, often played her CDs really loud in the office on a slow day, during the events of AA1-3 (Phoenix didn't enjoy this, but knew stopping Maya wasn't worth it, especially when Peal was also in the office dancing with Maya to the music)

Trucy also likes mental thanks to Maya sending her some CDs for her 14th birthday, Phoenix refused to talk to Maya for a few months after this happened

Trucy and Pearl tried to get Apollo and Athena into metal, they failed

Lana and Iris are friends, they met each other in prison

Miles and Athena both enjoy having conversations (often about the law) with each other, due to them both being multilingual and therefore, being able to switch between languages on a whim with each other while maintaining a conversation

my brain went on a cursed tangent as I was walking today. Basically I was thinking about how I hc Miles Edgeworth as having a fairly deep voice and than, I remembered that keanu reeves has a fairy deep voice that is oddly accurate to my hc vocal range for Miles (though Miles in my mind sounds less brooding than the characters Keanu gets type casted for typically and more formal, if that makes sense).

I voted artist because I used to hc Phoenix as being a former performing arts major (before changing to law of course) as he's definitely a theatre kid but now, I hc him as being a former visual arts major, focusing on painting (with oils and/or acrylic, I can't imagine him using water colours or gauche, idk why) but, still being heavily involved in the drama department by helping them paint sets and even acting in minor roles in a few plays.

So in my no DL-6 hc he's doing that and doesn't do a law minor let alone change majors.

Fair points, this is why even with my preference for him being a visual arts major I still see him as an actor cuz his court behaviour does make me think he has experience with improvised acting. Though I didn't think about how his acting skills could help Trucy! Love this hc :D

I know that people prefer to see Phoenix as an artist, but I like the idea of an actor more because I like to imagine that he helps Trucy with her performances. For example, he helps her calm down before the show, gives advice on how to attract an audience, and so on. And damn, with his ability to bluff, I think the actor suits him best.

Side note, I also like to imagine that Phoenix knows some tricks with cards. He can ask her with a sly face, "Is this your card?", and his daughter will do her best to pretend to be shocked, as if she has not known about this trick since she was two years old (it gets harder when Dad tries to amaze her with the 'sudden disappearance of a finger on his hand")

(based off a silly hc I have, I'll explain more under cut as well as talk about this silly drawing)

So if it wasn't already obvious I've decided to hc Maya as Miles sister, why? Because Misty Fey being his mother is such a dramatic plot twist I can't help but added to my collections of hcs :D!

to be clear I don't want this to be canon (as his mom being left blank is way more fun for the whole fandom imo) I just like this hc for my personal enjoyment of AA, personally I treat all my hc's as DLC for canon :P. I also hc Gregory as Mia's dad cuz again, it's a super dramatic plot twist :P

As for this drawing I drew Maya and Franziska saying hello to their big/little brother because I thought this concept was way funnier in my head than it really is (it's cuz his sisters are same age :P). I'd like to imagine Maya really likes being Miles's sister because makes her feel more justified in mooching off him because they're already steel samurai besties, Franziska would be indifferent, since this doesn't effect her friendship with Maya (Franmaya is a super cute ship I just personally don't ship it :3) and Miles doesn't dislike having another living sister (and one dead sister), however in this image he is rather overwhelmed by the situation of dealing with two sisters at once.

Also I designed casual(ish) outfits for them all cuz I love drawing outfits! And there is something super fun about fan art of characters in different clothes to me :3. Maya's outfit is of course my favourite as it's most similar to my fashion style's (though it took a while for me to figure out what her casual style would be until I decided comfort would be her biggest priority in casual fashion) but I also really enjoyed drawing Franziska's outfit, it was the easiest one for me to think of fun fact. Miles's outfit on the other hand is eh for me, sorry I just find men's fashion very boring ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Overall I love this drawing, it's definitely janky on account of being drawn with my non preferred hand but I already plan on redrawing it in future with my left hand digitally so I look forward to that future project :-D

Because I also hc Miles as a sweet tooth I'm now imagining both of them showing up at the coffee shop at the same time, to get the new limited edition super surgery caffeinated drink and, the employees are super confused to see some man in a red suit with a permanent glare get the unexpected drink, than immediately after, serve the scary British guy behind him asking for the exact same drink.

I think that Simon likes very sweet foods, specifically because it's really funny to imagine him walking into a coffee shop. The person making the coffee sees this large, intimidating goth british person. Their immediate assumption is that he wants just straight black coffee. And then he orders the most god-forsaken abysmal "How are you not having a heart attack right now" drink you've ever heard of.

✿ Iris and friends ✿

A few days ago I decided to do a one panel comic based off a head canon of mine, that being that Iris has naturally red hair but, after her sister goes to jail, she felt the need to distance herself from her sister even more and, began to dye her hair black. I mostly came up with this hc because as someone with dark brown hair (that's sometimes mistaken for black :/) I know how much work it is to bleach and maintain a light hair colour and, given she "dated" Phoenix for 8 months, that's going to damage her hair real bad if she's naturally got black hair and, dyed it red regularly in that time frame. Only other option would be that she didn't dye her hair and it's naturally black but Phoenix isn't an idiot, he'd notice if his gf was swapping between red and black hair (at least I think so, he can be oblivious sure but, he can also be hyper perceptive at times so I think it's likely he'd question it eventually in the 8 months time frame), so I decided to hc her as a red head, plus she looks identical to her sister aside from the black hair colour so, them being identical twins makes sense to me.

Also don't worry, Phoenix doesn't hold anything against Iris for being a red head after this scene I drew. I like to think he comforts her after her apology so she knows she hasn't done anything wrong (because having the same colour hair as your twin isn't something you can control!). He's just surprised because she's so good at makeup (another hc of mine) that her brows looked naturally black and, he somehow didn't register that her hair was naturally red in college when he first met her again or something like that :P. I also hc that Phoenix visits Iris every few months, as while I personally don't ship feeniris, I definitely can see them being good friends after case 3-5 as they probably have quite a bit in common, given they both seemed to like each other in college.

Than I felt like drawing more Iris art but with Lana Skye because I hc them as friends! Which might seem strange, given these two do not interact in the game but, not only do they end up in prison around same time (only a few years apart), they also have had to deal with being pawns for other's and probably were able to relate in some ways to each other as a result. Plus I like to hc that Phoenix and Ema talk about their respective prison friend/sibling to each other and, are both glad to hear their friend/sibling has a best friend, neither realising that the best friend is the other prisoner involved in the conversation until both girls are released from jail. cuz I of course hc they get released from prison some time after SOJ (or before, or during, still haven't finished SOJ) and at same time because, the chief prosecutor figured out they were friends and, was able to convince the right people to change one of the girls release date to match the other girl's so they can enjoy the release day together!
