one looking to escape, another looking to be found; one looking to belong, another looking for home all are lost and hoping new haven has the answers they need. "we are the reckless, we are the wild youth. chasing visions of our futures. one day, we'll reveal the truth; that one will die before he gets there." youth by daughter.

falling back into his usual routine, the werecougar was back at the cafe getting himself a coffee and a pastry when he noticed someone familiar out of the corner of his eye. now, they hadn't met in person yet but they had exchanged a few messages over an app and, well, the other was certainly memorable; and certainly worth approaching in public. as he sauntered over, the alpha broke into the line and stepped into place in front of the other and looked down at him with a smirk. his photos online don't do him justice, he's even prettier in person.
"i couldn't help but notice you weren't getting any pastries." his voice was warm, his words lingering on his breath with a drawl as he licked his lips and looked down at the other. "shame really, you're missing out. tell you what, let me take care of your order today so i can make sure you leave here satisified." was he laying it on a bit thick? definitely, but he was having fun. rather than simply calling the other out for the only real conversation they've had, yet, he was trying to make small talk and see if the other was still curious; see if he was playful.
"personally i think you should get the bearclaw," he added on as he reached over the counter to grab the pastry, which happened to be the biggest in their display case at the moment, so he could offer it to skylar. "it's a nice, thick pastry that has plenty of flavor; warms you up and keeps you nice and full too." he was really laying it on thick today. "then again, i don't know. you might not be able to handle it." with another lick of his lips, and that cocky smirk still hanging around, rowan put the pastry back and, instead, grabbed a small chocolate dipped coconut macaroon. "this might be more your speed."

religion wasn't something he found himself often concerned with, gods felt a little too farfetched for the vampire to believe in, but if he was going to believe this is what he thought heaven would be like; pleasure coursing through every fiber of his being as a gorgeous, strong man pressed into him and made him feel-- even if it was just for the briefest of moments-- alive.
groaning, low and needy, his hands fell from anders neck to rest on his shoulders. his fingers dug into the dragon's broadness, threatening to bruise and break the skin, as he each thrust into him carved so deep the bed beneath them rocked. "you," he moaned as his eyes began to roll back into his head, the vampire drunk on how good it felt for the dragon blood to let go of his politeness and give into his more carnal side. "so good. perfect. anders. fuck." his sentences were reduced to broken, mismatched words and grunts that hardly made sense as he unraveled beneath the other. anders was so hot against him, and inside him, that the vampires own pale skin seemed flush with color from the heat as he was rocked closer and closer to finishing without even having to touch himself.
"don't stop," he whined, his legs keeping themselves tight around anders in an attempt to keep him close. "i want-- if you want-- i want... inside me... anders... inside me."
Anders hadn't realized how much he wanted this, how much he had needed this, in the chaos of everything he had forgotten to take care of himself in this way. He spread those gorgeous legs wide as he began to really let himself go, fucking Elgin with the abandon of someone who had not had release in too long.
"You feel so good. You feel amazing. Perfect." Anders moaned as his hips worked faster and harder, the other had begged for more and Anders was apt to give it. All the power of a warrior from the past, thick muscles taunt as he pushed into the other man, a thin sheen of sweat glistening over his skin, the heat he gave off pulsing, hopefully not too hot for Elgin to handle at this point. A deep grunt of pleasure coming from his as each thrust pushed him closer and closer to the edge. "I'm getting close Elgin."

"in all honesty? i was thinking of taking a more peaceful approach to life here. in the long run i want to give my younger brother," the only remaining member of his family he cared for, "a way out if he wanted one." and a way out for himself. he had grown tired of his families desperate clinging to the fear and power they wielded but as he sat there and really thought about it-- was he tired of living in a world where fear and power struggles dominated every action and thought or was he tired of the way his family operated simply because he had to clean up their messes; was he tired of playing by their rules and not actually having the respect he deserved? it almost felt like a ghost creeping along his features as his lips curled into a more devious smirk; making him look more like the hellion he was in his youth rather than who he was pretending to be since leaving home. "new haven is already drowning, it could be fun to hold their heads underwater and give them a real reason to fear..."

"i've met a few that don't seem like they would take kindly to being called sheep," he commented with a subtle lick of his lips, "but i've met even more that don't seem like they'd even question it. i already have a favorite, or two, because of how compliant they are." the fact he was falling so easily back into his old ways wasn't something he could blame on kai. the other wasn't compelling him, or twisting his arm. no. all it took was a simple smile and mention of fun for elgin to slip. this was what he was. a monster hiding behind a kind smile and designer clothes. he was a fool for ever thinking he could be anything else. "i've been hiding," he answered plainly with a slight shrug of his shoulders as he let his hand be moved higher up on the other's thigh as they spoke, "but i'm starting to get tired of it. maybe i'm the lucky one tonight."
humming under his breath as he felt the other's hands on him, keeping him close, elgin gave into the moment and enjoyed being close to the other; he enjoyed the banter and the foreplay as he genuinely considered letting the facade he'd created for himself go and just accepting, instead, that he wasn't meant for a more peaceful, quiet life. honestly, a town like this would have been easier to run than a bustling city. there were so many ways they could convince and control people.
feeling the other's tongue against his ear had the omega smirking again, his mouth hanging open a bit to show his fangs as he leaned into the touch. "i'm not doing myself any favors tonight if you have to wonder if i'm better than the rest of them," he finally spoke up again as he leaned forward, his lips ghosting against the alpha's. "i thought i, at least, made that much obvious." closing off the last centimeter of distance between them, the omega pressed their lips together as his hand found it's way to cup over the alpha's groin. massaging his hand against him, elgin teasingly bit down on the other's bottom lip and pulled back on it before letting his attention trail away. his lips found their way to kai's chin, tracing down the side of his jaw, to his throat; making it clear, as his hand continued to grope and massage against the alpha, that he was working his way down to his prize.
Kai grinned upon hearing of the other man's history. How interesting; so there really were more like him out there. The alpha vampire hummed in delight, only taking another swig from his bottle. "And what about now? If this is your new home, how do you feel about using fear and control in this realm? It shouldn't be a problem to let your family name be synonymous with blood here either. With the amount of fear people already have over things they don't know, imagine how much more fun it will be when they fear things that they do know." Kai slid a bit closer to Elgin in the booth, letting his knee brush up against the other's.
"The sheep here are sweet to taste. Simple, easy-minded. Not very filling unless you have lots. But they're also much more fun to play with; even more so eager to follow your every beck and call. And that makes them all the more tastier and that much more filling." Kai's brows raised a bit as Elgin closed the gap between them, feeling the other's hand resting on his thigh. "Is that so? Is tonight my lucky night then? Where has someone as perfect as you been hiding this entire time?" he purred, reaching down to guide the other vampire's hand further up his thigh.
Shifting his body so that he was facing the other man a bit more directly, Kai let his own hands snake around the backside to hold Elgin closer to him. It wasn't obvious from his grip, but Kai wasn't intending for the other man to slip away from his grasp now. Not after the words that they'd been exchanging. "I think you're here to start making some messes of your own then. Tonight's certainly a fine night to start," he mused. "Here, you can live as freely as you want. Forget all the rules and etiquettes and act the way you've always desired. And if anyone complains about it, then we can always convince them otherwisee," the alpha vampire finished, letting his words trail off into a soft whisper as he leaned in close to Elgin's ear. Of course, convincing could mean all sorts of things, but Kai wasn't one to dive into all the specifics.
Kai let his tongue slip out, licking at the other man's earlobe, before using the sharper ends of his teeth to nip and lightly bite at the skin there. "Plenty try to keep up, but I haven't found anyone that can last. It's such a shame too, because all those pretty omegas didn't have the heart or the stomach to indulge in our desires together." He paused, one hand sliding down to settle around the other vampire's waist and squeezing him gently there. "And now I'm wondering if this pretty omega here is better than the rest of them." Kai's lips had moved away from Elgin's ear, trailing a soft line of kisses and pecks along his jawline untiil they were hovering just in front of the other's lips. "Care to prove me right?"

"i'm fine," alton argued with a soft, subtle blush and a dismissive roll of his eyes. honestly he was lost. he had been ever since he lost christopher and even though he found a home here in new haven, even though he was making a life for himself and settling in, he still felt like something was missing. stolas was a good distraction for that. he wouldn't admit it outright, because that would require him being honest about his emotions rather than keeping everyone at an arms length away from him, but the elf did like spending time with him; maybe he was finally starting to come out of his shell. "i just got caught up in the moment. i was concerned, that's all." that was a weak excuse for the way he'd just reacted.

settling against a counter, his shoulder's relaxing with a heavy exhale, the elf looked up at stolas; his eyes settling on the other's lips for a fleeting second before flicking up to meet his gaze. "that's starting to be a trend for you, not having the books on you," he teased, lazily, as he watched the other walk around to stand in front of him. there was a bit of confusion in the elf's eyes as the witch crowded his space, and complained about how short the kiss had been, but it was easily silenced as stolas leaned in and kissed him again; this time the embrace more purposeful and filled with longing.
he only hesitated against the other's lips for a moment before he gave in; his hands reaching up to grip at stolas's face, keeping him close, as he pushed away from the counter and chased after the other's lips with a renewed sense of hunger and his own longing.
If anything he knew this had to do something, all these years of carrying on the Carrow name and he had to help Alton out no matter what he had to do. He couldnt believe of all things that a bone seemed to be stuck in the snakes body of all things. Stolas was just happy that the snake and elf were happy. He knew what it was like being without someone you cared about. He blinked softly as the other wrapped his arms around him in a hug. "It was nothing truly, you helped me out.. man." He blushed as the other was genuinely thanking him and some people acted privileged and went on their way. "Are you sure you're feeling okay? You're just giving out hugs. Maybe I do have to check on you." He teased before whimpering on the fleeting kiss. It had been a while since someone had shown him affection like that.

He was a little shook by the events that had happened over the course of the last few minutes. "I can definitely look into that for you, I do have a whole library I just dont have everything here with me.." He blushed as he walked up the other and caressed his face. "Im not worried about that book anymore but, you kissed me.. but it was too short. Let me really taste it." he softly said as he leaned in without hesitation and kissed the elf longingly.

"i've been in new haven for about five months now, but i've been in this world for closer to seven; or maybe it's eight." he answered with a soft smile. "you're doing incredible for someone that's only been here for a few weeks so, please, don't apologize." the alpha considered himself adaptable. he had help, mind you, but it didn't take him long to learn how to speak english, though he picked up a bit of a drawl from the witch that taught him, and he adjusted fairly quickly to how things worked in this world and this timeline which is why he liked to help the newer arrivals when he could. even though it was a bit easier for him, he understood how confusing everything could be; how terrifying it could be; how lonely it could be.
"you owe me nothing." rowan corrected with a kind smile and a dismissive shake of his head. "--but if you really feel like you need to make it up to me, you could start by giving me your name unless you want me to just call you beautiful. mine's rowan."

once they moved through the line and made their way to the counter to order, rowan smiled and greeted the person working and made small talk with them about some project they were working on; making it clear he came here often and was familiar with the people that worked here. they were kind and patient with rowan, and his guest, and gave them everything they ordered with a smile before sending them off and on their way.
placing his free hand on the small of the other's back, rowan looked down at him with a smile; lingering there for a moment, clearly a bit distracted, before guiding him through the crowd of people to find a table for the two of them to sit. "i know it can be overwhelming, being in a new place like this-- and even a new time. you said you've only been here a few weeks? how are you holding up?"
Things were unlike anything Parker expected they would be, coming from the past. People talked different then he did and he had to learn how to live in this new place. The younger male had looked to Dunkan when he had arrived at New Haven as he was the Merfolk Counselor of the town. He had already learned so much and was even going to set up his own jewelry still soon. However there was one thing that Parker Bermuda had becomed obsessed with more than water, and that was coffee. He was still trying to make ends meet and find himself as the world he new was behind him. His brown eyes met with a crystal blue pair across the way, and wow.. was this man handsome. He cleared his throat trying to prepare himself for social interaction. Lord knows it was going to be a rough trip.

The other was charming and alluring and Parker sat up as he approached looking around to make sure he was the one being addressed. "I could say the same about you. Have you been here long? Its only been a couple weeks with me, so sorry i am if im bad at speaking.. im learning." He blushed as he got up and went into line, a little scared of what the others might think. "This is a big help, thank you sir. I truly owe you one. Please say you'll sit down with me after order?" he asked with a bit of a puppy dog look.
