I Have A Lot Of Thoughts And Feelings About The On1y One, But For Now I'm Just Stuck On Wang Desperately

I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about The On1y One, but for now I'm just stuck on Wang desperately wanting someone to care about and for him (and being the poutiest baby when there's a hint of care that then gets taken away/doesn't pan out) and Tian, who works so hard to project indifference and independence and the idea that he doesn't need anyone and is uninterested in being involved in anyone else's life or business, but who constantly shows up for Wang with zero prompting (and gives so easily for the pout)

The way they contrast in their outward image and internal lives; Tian's natural caretaking tendencies visible only in private, while he is stoic and aloof otherwise, and Wang's vulnerability and need to be wanted and important only visible to Tian, while he remains friendly and outgoing and charming with everyone else -- neither giving any hint at the loneliness they both feel unless they're alone together

It makes me want to scream a little

(and Tian's mom, in the midst of all this, unsure how to handle being in charge of two boys who are alternatingly cold and dismissive of her and so clearly in need of parental care and affection)

I want to know, for science. After practising handwriting/calligraphy Wang slept kb Tian's bed... Where did Tian sleep? Did he squeeze into the bed like Wang has been wanting somebody to or did he sleep on the floor. Did he pull an Edward Cullen and watch him sleep or did he go and sleep in Wang's room instead. I want to know! I need to know. I'm going to go insane.

For those of you who wants to know how I am after the episode.

I ALMOST SOBBED AT MY PLACE OF WORK CAUSE OF EVERYTHING.

Jiang Tian's past, their little date, their decision. Them protecting each other. Just. Everything. I love it. I need tomorrow's episode out soon as well. I'm gonna watch it again tonight once I get back home. Even if we didn't get the morning scene we expected/hoped for, it was beautiful and I'm so moved.

I've already mentioned the way the conversations both Wang and Tian have with their parents moved me.

This is mostly for the rest of the episodes and things I missed before.

As humorous as I found that literally everyone in Jiang Tian and Sheng Wang's lives found out about them moving into the dorms from (probably) Sheng Wang's father it made me think of the implications for it. Maybe also the repercussions of it in the future. There's something really telling about it, that the dad had no qualms to keep it with him to talk to Wang but rather chose to ask people to counsel him. Makes me think of how things would be handled if and when they actually get together. Same with the way they outted them as brothers and the wildfire that it spread like. The boys themselves hadn't been able to commit to calling each other brothers but they had to accept it by the end of the day without their own acceptance.

Jiang Tian's flashback scene with all the times he spent with Sheng Wang was so beautiful and made me tear up. Especially considering the implication that Jiang Tian is already aware of his feelings.

The final portion where he has unpacked and is for the first time feeling comforted at home is so moving and the hug killed me. I'm gonna keep watching this episode waiting for the next ones. The hug as well.

Big mouth xu is right. The way Wang was messaging was quite evidently someone you love and adore. Wang is just blind. 😭

Lastly but was the first thing that was true, everytime I see Jiang Tian being a kid with Sheng Wang my heart soars and it did so in the swimming pool scene as well.

I'm really happy to see that the dad realised that he needs to be there in actions as well and postponed his travel. I'm just worried that he is now gonna be overbearing to over compensate.

I am curious about two things. Yesterday's episode, Ji Huanyu came back and we didn't hear of him today except for sending money. So where is he? What is he planning? Do we see him again?

Second, this is the first time we don't have some sort of a Jiang Tian's very moment as such. We got a continuation of the scene instead of that. So what does that mean.

Currently I'm looking forward to next episode of The On1y One and final episode of The Trainee. Only thing keeping me sane I'd say.

i don’t know how to explain it, but you can just tell even they can tell there’s something else there, you can see it in Tian’s expression. Maybe i’m just saying it because i want them to be together.. but i feel like even though neither of them necessarily know what it is, they know there is something there (emotionally/ to do with their current relationship) that would have to stop/ would change if they were to be brothers. Something unspoken

they have a truly special bond, and i love that so much
