Title: The Foolish, Foolish Stars

Description:

Being a fool is not an easy profession. You're a spy, a diplomat, an actor, and an entertainer all at once, and failing at any of these will get your head on the chopping block faster than you'll be able to jingle your bells. The list of occupational hazards, is, in fact, ridiculously long, but being abducted by aliens is not one of them. Irik, a smart and capable Jest at the king's court, finds themselves in an unusual position of being offered the rulership of an alien empire. Why him? Why now? And what does a certain ancient prophecy have to do with all of this?

Phei has returned from her dangerous stunt to visit the mysterious island. After confronting her elders with the news that the surface world is in grave danger, they dismissed it, saying it was nonsense. Now she turns to her childhood friend, who has always clinged to reason …

The moment she leaves the council chamber the doors close shut behind her and a soft storm or murmurs can be heard from behind it. Hazel eyes turn towards the keyhole, a place to listen, but [angry noises]. She opens the door to the balcony and jumps off. She can hear the gust singing in her ear as she plummets down. Blue feathers gasp as they are forced into action metres above the floor. Phei uses the momentum to soar upwards until she reaches a comfortable height at which she can glide over towards the town without requiring any attention to search for currents.
