X-Virus Headcanons (OLD)

Cody is an interesting individual.

He craves the attention of others, though doesn’t get it most of the time because everyone finds him weird.

He is an excessive speaker, so once he starts on a subject, it’s very difficult to get him to stop.

He’s 5′7″, one of the shorter guys in the Manor, but he can’t make himself care very much.

Cody isn’t shy. When he wants someone to know something, he will tell them, but if he accidentally says something brash towards them he will feel guilty and apologize.

He doesn’t have a filter, at least when it comes to his life and interests as a whole.

He and Sally are best buds. She has him over for tea parties and he tells her about the danger of different viruses and diseases.

Kind of has a tendency to wear his heart on his sleeve, but he’s overall gotten used to people judging him and not wanting to spend any of their time with him. That doesn’t mean it hurts any less, though.

Sees himself as an outcast, so he often tries to stay out of social situations, even though he wants to be involved.

He spends most of his time locked away in a room that holds all of his creations, always attempting to make them more deadly than they already are.

When he finds someone who accepts him, he clings to them and automatically becomes interested in things that that person likes as a way to get closer to them.

This is how he adopted his love of viruses because his father’s life revolved around them.

People assume he and Toby are related, though they are not.

In fact, they often find each other annoying and try to avoid one another so they don’t cause any conflict.

Cody is a very lonely character who only wants to be loved, but he still somehow manages to keep up a happy facade all the same. Poor baby boi.

-Cody remembers everything about his past but chooses not to think about it.

-If he did, he’d get sad and really angry, and likely disappear for several days creating new, deadly viruses.

-But it’s not as if he doesn’t do that, already.

-His “Lab”, as he likes to call it, is one of the only rooms that the rest of the Creeps are absolutely forbidden to go into without permission, especially if they don’t have proper safety gear.

-Viruses run so rampantly in there, even though all of them are in vials and different containers stored at freezing temperatures, if one were to walk inside without wearing a hazmat suit, they’d probably be dead in under a week. 

-Maybe two, if they’re lucky.

-That is also why Cody is one of Slenderman’s most important workers. If he needs someone taken out fairly quick but wants them to suffer, Cody is the one he calls to do the job.

-But of course, he doesn’t release his viruses out on the world. He kidnaps the person in question and keeps them inside his Lab, injecting them with whatever his boss wants him to use to kill them.

-Yes, it sounds brutal, and it really is, but aren’t all of the Creeps at least to some extent?

-Cody takes his work very seriously and is always proud of a new, successful sickness he made, and if anyone in the Manor would be willing to listen, he would definitely tell them about it, down to the very last detail.

-Sure, he’s tried talking to Sally about them, although she was either too distracted with playing with her toys or just got a little unnerved and didn’t want to hear the rest.

-If you were to meet Cody out on the streets randomly, you would never guess that someone so young, with his endearing personality, (weird and annoying, according to others), would not only be a serial killer but also have their very own lab where they create viruses capable of wiping out entire countries. 

-Though he may seem clumsy and careless at times, Cody is very cautious when working with his creations. He isn’t stupid, he knows what they can and will do to the human race, including himself, so he takes great care in dealing with them. 

-When Cody was a child, his mother was on drugs and couldn’t be there for him, so he was taken to a foster home of sorts, where he stayed for a whole year before switching over to another one.

-His foster parents were a married couple who treated him and another kid who temporarily lived there, a little girl named Trixie, very poorly. 

-They would yell and curse at them, lock them inside their rooms, not give them any supper for sometimes days in a row, and even threw them outside to fend for themselves at night a couple of times.

-Since Trixie was the only other kid there, they were able to strike up a friendship and bond over the mutual hate they had for the foster parents. Though one day, Cody woke up and she was gone. He had asked his “mother” about it and she only told him that Trixie was taken away.

-This saddened him, but not long after that, he was sent to yet another foster home, this one even worse than the last one, for a couple of years until he was adopted by a scientist.

-In an effort to get to know his new father, he took up his interests and soon made them his own, learning things about certain chemicals, viruses, tools used to mix such things.

-But then his father, Wilson, was murdered out of the blue and suddenly, Cody was being called on by Slenderman. 

-His close friendship with Sally likely stems from his past friendship with Trixie, because Sally reminds him of her and he sees her as a little sister of sorts.

-Even though he talks a lot with the little ghost girl, he still gets very lonely without friends his age and, perhaps most of all, a companion. Whether it be strictly a work partner or a romantic partner, he would be happy with either.

-Talking to himself is not an uncommon occurrence; he often does it to encourage himself, talk down to himself, or just express his thoughts verbally because he needs to vent, even if it is just to one of his victims or his wall.

-Cody has had a very difficult life which, again, is why he doesn’t like to think about it. It would take someone he’s exceedingly close to in order to get him to open up to them about his past, and since almost nobody in the Manor cares to be his friend, he doesn’t have to worry about it.

-The little cinnamon roll just needs some love every once in a while but no one will provide it :(

-He’s very touch-starved, so any amount of affection given to him will be greatly appreciated.

-Would definitely be big on cuddles in a relationship, and squeeze hugs from the back would be a favorite of his. 

-He sometimes goes to hide in a tree and watches couples walking through the park in envy and sadness. He doesn’t think he would ever be able to be loved. Nearly everyone thinks he’s a freak, anyway. 

-Please someone give this poor boy a hug, he needs it. Like desperately.

-His favorite food is probably quesadillas, but he loves spaghetti, too. Sadly though, he hasn’t had either in a while, mostly cause he can’t cook to save his life and nobody will make it for him. Jane only makes food for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

-His room has scientist books, notepads, and clothes scattered everywhere. But who cares? It’s not like anyone but him goes inside. 

-He has insomnia badly, so he runs off of maybe five-six hours of sleep every two nights. He’s gotten used to it, though. 

-He sometimes wishes he had a pet, like a bunny or a hamster, but he’d be too busy to take care of and give it the love it needs. At least, that’s what he’s convinced himself.

-Cody, along with Jeff, BEN, Sully, and Zero, is one of the most obnoxious Pastas in the Manor according to the others. But he doesn’t try to be, he just wants to make a friend. He’s stopped trying to communicate with people though, because he always just gets irritated looks, and insulting comments whenever he says something. 

-”Maybe I’m just better off alone, after all...”

Seeing as how this precious boi has never been in a relationship nor has he liked someone before, he was a little confused when he started to get butterflies every time you so much as talked to him.

When you were around him he got a spike of nervousness, when you giggled at his jokes a strong blush would spread across his cheeks, and he’d get embarrassed easily in front of you.

It didn’t take him long to figure out that he had feelings for you, and he accepted it rather quickly. 

Then he started to think you might like him back because you would actually spend time with him, you listened every time he talked, and you always seemed enthused while you did it. Nobody else had given him the attention you gave him in a very long time, so you had to reciprocate to some extent, right?

He wanted to get closer to you, so he latched on like a leech. You like painting? He will not only steal brushes, canvases, anything you need for you, but he will also learn how to paint, himself!

You like to write? Or sing? Read, dance? Even if he can’t do it at first, he will learn how, and then he’ll show off his new skills to impress you! If you are, indeed, impressed, he will be so happy.

He didn’t try to hide the fact that he had a major crush on you, so it was pretty obvious given how often he hugged you, wanted to spend time with you, lit up whenever you walked into the room. But when it came to actually confessing it? He was so nervous.

He went out of his way to find your favorite flowers, turn on your favorite song, and ask you to come to his room.

When you complied and showed up at his door, he gave you the flowers in the form of a neat bouquet, and led you inside, where he was a stuttery, blushing mess.

Every time he attempted to tell you, he’d stumble over his words and start over again, and this happened several times before he got irritated and just spat it out.

"I—I like you, Y/n!” He gently grabbed your unoccupied hand and took off his mask so he could look you in the eyes. “I mean, I really...really like you. Because you spend time with me and act like you actually give a shit. A-and nobody’s done that for me, not since I was a little kid... You’re just so amazing and...perfect. W-will you maybe be my girlfriend?”

When you said yes, he literally thought his heart would burst out of his chest it was beating so fast from pure euphoria, and he got the biggest, cutest grin on his face before he pulled you in for probably the tightest hug of your life.

He is a pretty clingy boyfriend, but only because he loves you so much and he doesn’t ever want to lose you. 

He checks up on you constantly, sending you random texts:

"Good morning, my beautiful butterfly! <3″

"Have I told you I love you today? I’m so sorry! I love you I love you I love you!”

"You’re the best thing in my life and I love you SOOOOO much!!”

"Are you in bed? I just had to say you’re so cute and the most amazing thing ever! Goodnight!!”

"I’ll love you forever and always! You know that right?”

Sure, it may get annoying at times, especially when it’s 3am and you’re trying to sleep. He just thinks about you all the time and wants you to know how much you mean to him, so don’t get too mad okay?

When he’s around you he can not keep his hands to himself. Whether it’s holding your hand, kissing you, side-hugging you, there’s always some type of physical contact whenever you’re near each other. 

He talks non-stop about his latest viruses, what they would do if somebody were to catch them, etc, although he can get carried away because he isn’t good with social cues at all, so you have to often point it out and when he realizes it, he apologizes and feels guilty.

Just reassure him and let him ask some questions about you and he’ll be fine.

He lives for your laugh. When you’re happy, he’s happy, and it absolutely makes his day when you crack up at one of his jokes or he sees you smiling.

He's an exceedingly playful person, so he’ll often initiate play fights, tickle you, or give you piggyback rides.

Other Creeps just roll their eyes when stuff like this happens and ignores it, like always. Nicer ones like Sally, Liu, or Jane think you two are cute together.

Cody loves everything about you, and you can catch him looking in your direction commonly, but not with lust; he just thinks you’re perfect and too good for him.

But of course, he couldn’t be more thankful to have you.

Honestly, he isn’t the best emotional support, but rest assured he will try his very hardest to meet your needs. Whatever he needs to do in order to comfort you? Consider it done.

Need hours of cuddles? Sweet words? Encouragement? He offers up all of it. It hurts him when you’re sad, and he’ll do anything he can possibly do to make sure that smile crosses your face, again. On the flip side, he’ll count on you to do the same.

If he’s feeling particularly gloomy he’ll text to see if he can come to your room, but sometimes he’ll just appear outside your door. When he’s like this, please do your best to console him.

All it will really take is letting him hold you while he tells you exactly what’s bothering him, then he’ll want to fall asleep with you and the next day he will be back to normal.

Cody would give his life for you without any hesitation in the least. There is no way he could live without you, not since you came into his life, and he would much rather die knowing you’re safe.

If you don’t include the whole “making dozens of very deadly viruses” thing, this boi is literally the purest person in the world. He would never take advantage of your kindness, and he’d never let anyone do anything to hurt you in any way.

He’s just so lovable and doesn’t deserve the life that he’s suffered through up until now. But you make it so much more bearable than it was previously, and he loves you and will always try his best to be a good boyfriend and make you happy.

When Cody realized that you could bring things back from the dead, he absolutely fell in love.

Sure, it was strange and perhaps rose questions, but he didn't care. He just thought it was awesome.

You had initially kept it a secret from him, as you didn't want him to judge you or look at you as some satanic person and be afraid. In fact, the only reason he found out you could do it, in the first place, is because he witnessed you squatting down beside a dog lying on the side of the road that had been run over, and the next thing he knew, it was up and wagging its tail.

While others may find you creepy, Cody views you as a saint. He thinks your power is endearing and adds even more layers to your personality.

There have been multiple times that Cody has brought some kind of bug or small animal to you with the declaration that he had accidentally stepped on them or just simply found them lifeless in the woods somewhere, and he would practically beg you to help them.

You obliged but kept reminding him that what you could do wasn't a toy and that it wouldn't be responsible to just do it continuously without a good reason.

You also tell him regularly that he shouldn't go off informing people of this ability that you possess.

He is so proud that his girlfriend can do such cool things though, so he finds it difficult, and more than a couple of times had you caught him subtly hinting at it in front of people.

When you scolded him for it, he timidly apologized and said he really didn't mean to, he was just excited.

He loves you no matter what, even though you have powers beyond normal human comprehension. And he is fully confident that if he were to ever get wounded fatally, then you would heal him in no time.

That isn't to say he goes around doing risky things with this mindset...even though he most certainly does.

"If you can bring me back to life, why should I live carefully?"

Please, stop him before he actually ends up killing himself by jumping on the back of a bus and trying to recreate some epic parkour move.

Because he will do it.

It is only a matter of time.

Cody cannot cook. Like at all.

It ends in disaster every. Single. Time.

So when you come along and offer to cook him something to eat? Girl, he is yours.

His favorite is meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Watching you cast spells has just become a hobby of his.

Wherever you are, he'll sneak in behind you, sit down, and observe excitedly.

You often get distracted because he's yelling out words of encouragement and awe, and you always send him a threatening scowl so he'll stop.

He does, indeed, stop, but only for a few minutes before he inevitably gets caught up in the moment and starts again.

It's cute but a little bit obnoxious.

Cody is an animal lover, so if you own a pet he will be all over that.

He will always bring it treats and give it special attention and talk in a cutesy little baby voice.

You're starting to wonder if your own pet likes your boyfriend better than it does you because it always seems to get really excited when he shows up.

Cody likes to bring you to people he doesn't like and let you move things around with your mind to give them a good scare.

He'll convince them that a ghost is around and will die of laughter once the two of you are alone.

You will admit, watching random people shriek because they think they're being haunted is rather amusing.

Still, you remind him that your power is not a toy and it requires great responsibility to possess.

He usually will just grin and nod but then proceed to drag you somewhere else to show off your abilities.

He likes to walk around your greenhouse and study the plants, and the ones that he doesn't know about he won't hesitate to ask you.

He is pretty interested in herbology himself, so any information he gets about it is stored into his mind where he will easily pull it back out when need be.

When you're tending to your garden, he will lean over your shoulder to stare down at what you're doing and question you endlessly, even things he already knows.

He just likes your voice and how smart you sound when you tell him stuff.

You have caught him attempting to cast spells of his own, and scolded him afterward for not only stealing your book but for endangering himself too.

He does appear ashamed but will do it again eventually. Just wait.

He's adorably impossible.

God knows he isn't perfect, but he will do everything in his power to make you feel the way that you make him feel, even if it takes his entire life.

Babe, this boy already lives for you and would do virtually anything within his power to ensure that you are happy.

So when he finds out you're insecure??

Aw hell no, we can't be having that.

He will make it his personal goal to make you feel satisfied with yourself and tries so hard to make you see yourself through his eyes.

This entails pulling you in front of a mirror at moments that you feel at your worst and telling you to name everything you like about your reflection.

Then he'll pepper kisses all over your face and proclaim every single thing he finds attractive about you (which is all of you-) and will not relent until you meet his eyes and tell him that you believe him.

This is his go-to method when you're feeling particularly distraught about your appearance, and it seems effective, so why would he let up?

Opening any and all doors for you is a must. If you even think about opening your own door when he's anywhere nearby, he will leap in front of you, completely cutting you off, and do it for you, with the declaration that you are far too special to have to do such a thing. He is the man in this relationship, and he insists that it is his job to pamper you with whichever needless favor is required.

You need something? A drink? A massage? A plate of cold leftovers? You'll get it, honey.

He is at attention the very moment you call his name, even if he's in another room. Oftentimes, you can't even finish your sentence, and he dashes in so fast that he has slipped and fallen on his face more than once.

"Cody, are...are you okay?"

"I'm perfect, ángel! What really matters here is you!"

If you somehow get hurt in any way, he is right there with you, making sure you're alright, trying to help bandage the wounds (how minor they may be), and rambling like a nervous wreck.

If you wanna soothe him, place a hand on his head, look into his eyes calmly, and reassure him everything's fine.

He will melt under your touch, nod, and release a murmured, "o-okay..."

He'll still insist on taking care of you, though.

Cody would be on the borderline of freaking out and congratulating you.

On one hand, he absolutely loved your hair just the way it was and wouldn't have ever changed it, ever.

But on the other, you look so good?? Like how are you effortlessly this beautiful, he just can't comprehend it.

Having straightened hair makes you look more mature in his eyes, and he is so attracted to that you wouldn't believe it.

If you decide you want to keep styling your hair this way, he probably won't complain, but your adorable curls are what he fell in love with and it wouldn't be nice to deprive him of that, would it?

In all seriousness, he will find you absolutely breathtaking, no matter what changes you make to yourself. Straight or not, he loves your hair, because you're the one wearing it! And that's really all he could ask for.

Kinda confused at first honestly. Wasn't sure what to think, since he'd never been around anyone with that sort of problem and he was pretty much clueless about diabetes.

All he knew was that the needle looked like it hurt. He had to turn his head; it made him borderline nauseous.

"Y/n? Are you, uhh…alright?"

You explained what you were doing to him and why exactly you had to do it, and he listened intently, making a mental note to do more research on the topic later.

Now he tries to remain aware of how you're doing at all times, and if he thinks your blood sugar is getting too high, he'll get you to a less chaotic place and sit you down, but you're gonna have to be the one to give the insulin. He ain't touching that needle.

Immediately eager to help.

"What can I do? Do you need something to drink? You look tired, we can go nap together if you want."

He'll even offer to inject it for you, if you feel too drained. He's more experienced with this subject than most people; one of his foster moms had diabetes, and from the few months he lived with her, there were plenty of moments he needed to assist her with something, and she made sure to be thorough in quelling his curiosity when he asked questions.

He wishes you would have told him sooner, so he could have prepared the things you need in his room, in case you had a spell when you were in there with him.

He also ensures you have a bottle of insulin on you at all times, especially if you're about to leave the house. He can't have you going anywhere and not be ready in case something happens.

He pretty much just watches with growing interest, tilting his head and sitting down beside you.

Then he'll get the 'puppy-dog' eyes and poke his lips out. "Why didn't you tell me? I may be immature but that doesn't mean I can't comprehend the basic idea of chronic illness."

Basically you have to reassure him that his claims were not the reason that the topic never came up, although it takes some insistence on your end before he fully believes you.

Once he's alone, he starts reading about diabetes, so he doesn't have to assume things or talk your ear off with endless inquiries. Definitely expect to be coddled a bit more than usual though.
