Hypothetically, if you had to deal with a werewolf that was like a little bit feral and you didn’t want to kill them but you don't really want to get mauled to death just yet either, what weapon besides a silver bullet would work to slow them down? How much does it cost to coat a baseball bat in silver? Do they make pure silver canes? Asking for myself.

As a Christian who loved Harry Potter, I was never told not to read the books because of anything besides witchcraft being an affront to God. Not because Rowling portrayed the cross as something other than what it was or said Jesus was a wizard (though that is a hot take I kind of love). Shit, they literally celebrated Christmas.

DoubleTrippleShit, you’re talking about dying on hills when you dug a hole to build yours. It’s not stupid to respect cultures. Maybe just imagine your own creatures instead of being rude and acting as if you’re entitled to the culture of others.

ive certainly been guilty in the past, we all have, but.. please take some time to research whatever “monster” youre gonna draw or write into your story…? so many “cryptids” and “generic monsters” are actually specifically cultural stories, spirits etc. ya know. there’re absolutely more than this but off the top of my head:

wendigoag (algonquin spirits, not a cryptid)

golem are jewish, not random creatures

etc etc. just be mindful and aware yall

I’m working on something and the place my main character comes from is in the taiga biome. I’m having a hard time with research right now (I need to get better at it) and am just trying to figure out what sort of food they would have. It’s a mountainous area they’re in and the specific spot is on an island on a mountain lake.

You ever have a character you love dearly? Got so much shit figured out about them, all their backstory and even an idea of where their life is going. And yet. The fucking setting. My wonderful OC has no city to take over and I really can’t figure out. The idea was a city where the wealthy cling to the past and tradition and old ass architecture (all while still taking advantage of modern tech) but the poor live in slums with broken down pieces of the modern world. Then my mind was like “Oh but what if we added magic?” “But how can I have magic and science in one go without screwing up one or the other?” “Idk figure it out.”

I have a whole project for Nanowrimo that I should be working on but alas. My brain has hyperfixated on dragon age again. And instead of doing worldbuilding I’m writing fanfiction. And Among Us fanfiction because that’s where my life is at. There’s some pretty good fanart out there, it got ideas going.

I’m contemplating on working on some very old hobbit fanfics. One I wrote a little bit on here and just never finished. The other is the Ri brothers adopting Bilbo long before the quest to Erebor. Both have got that 2016 vibe. Y’all remember those times, way back in the days of yore? Anyways, because of fucking Dave I actually have three current projects going on plus school work. But I’m seriously considering adding these two old ones to the list.

Asexual Writer Problem #1

Knowing the story needs smut but having no idea how to write it

I have been writing stories since I was eight. I was trying to write a novel by the time I was in fifth grade. It is an integral part of my being and life. I can’t imagine giving it up. While I may sometimes hate my writing, it’s sort of like if I hated my neurons firing. It is a part of how I exist, so apart of me that it cannot be separated from me without damaging me forever.

I'm curious... How would you describe your relationship with writing?

I'm trying to make a list of good examples of female-coded characters in books/tv/movies/etc. Anyone got any good examples?

I'm reblogging this in hopes it will help my goal of actually writing my god-dang stories

show, don't tell:

anticipation - bouncing legs - darting eyes - breathing deeply - useless / mindless tasks - eyes on the clock - checking and re-checking

frustration - grumbling - heavy footsteps - hot flush - narrowed eyes - pointing fingers - pacing / stomping

sadness - eyes filling up with tears - blinking quickly - hiccuped breaths - face turned away - red / burning cheeks - short sentences with gulps

happiness - smiling / cheeks hurting - animated - chest hurts from laughing - rapid movements - eye contact - quick speaking

boredom - complaining - sighing - grumbling - pacing - leg bouncing - picking at nails

fear - quick heartbeat - shaking / clammy hands - pinching self - tuck away - closing eyes - clenched hands

disappointment - no eye contact - hard swallow - clenched hands - tears, occasionally - mhm-hmm

tiredness - spacing out - eyes closing - nodding head absently - long sighs - no eye contact - grim smile

confidence - prolonged eye contact - appreciates instead of apologizing - active listening - shoulders back - micro reactions

So, maybe within like the next week, I might - MIGHT - break down and actually post a few things I have written/started. Maybe. Just possibly. We’ll see. I just have to...

No, I WILL. Just so I will realize it isn’t as scary as I think it is!
