It had been so long since he’d seen actual light. Or felt warmth...or cold for that matter, since the chamber was temperature regulated. For now as it had been, the radio had to do.
He didn’t have a choice over what was transmitted. But it had been going for so long and at a reasonably soft(!) volume that he was able to keep mental estimates for some accuracy. The largest portion went to old Partei or war march themes. Then there were field reports, from Afrika or some other far-flung theater. It was always some kind of a relief to hear about how his old unit was doing or not doing whenever they were mentioned in the latest reports.
This despite the resentment that had built up in him since everything that had...happened.
Thus it was also paradoxically nice to hear about the seemingly endless saga of Terror-Billy. All the slurs used to describe him and his rampage across Europe and the former United States by the reporters only amplified what only felt like vicarious enjoyment. At least someone was paying for what had been done to him, to others that fell prey to promises of ascendance for the “chosen.”
But even that came to an end. Terror-Billy’s execution was broadcast live, and those gaps were replaced by the popular music charts that often broke up the reports of his rampage. And sports news of nearby football and sport clubs. The people monitoring him probably didn’t want him to break into what they thought was another rage. And so until that time came, he would remain in the void, with his music and his reports.
Although he didn’t quite expect that time to arrive like it did. Suddenly the music was interrupted by frantic radio transmissions calling for backup...which occasionally cut off, leaving him in silence. Dreaded silence.
“Hallo?” he suddenly asked, his vocal chords croaking from what might literally have been corrosion. He leaned forward as much as the few centimeters of his bounds would allow.
He needed to know what was going on at the very least. Or at the most. Maybe it would finally put an end to a lot of things. Even seeing actual light one last time would be a truly welcome relief...

Abyssal Blazko at 999 armor and health.
Me and my friend John have been co-writing for Abyssal Blazko (and a fanmade “Abyssal Timeline”) due to both of us being fans of the Wolfenstein franchise. Thing is I’m a proud weirdo with an untamable imagination and a knack for turning characters I like into superpowered semi-monsters, and John is like that little shoulder devil that endorses any such indulgences. What can ya do?
Abyssal Blazko comes with a fairly long list of powers, all of them based either partially or fully on things you see him do in-game, much like all my other Abyssal fan designs. John came up with the idea that Abyssal Blazko’s muscular tissues thread-ify, for lack of a better word, and break down armor pieces to add onto his own skin. I draw them like black, shiny scales of metal.
Typically these scales cover most of Abyssal Blazko’s body in fluctuating levels (20 being a fairly low level of scales while 200 is the typical maximum, covering his entire body). At 200, the scales vaguely start to lose their hexagonal aesthetic, instead becoming more and more lax in their metamorphosis. At the 999 cap, the scales cease to look like scales at all, instead retaining most if not their entire original shape. The metal is converted into a bio-metallic hybrid, dotted with dead hair follicle scars if you look closely enough, and are cluttered together across his body with little rhyme or reason.
His metallic hide retains all sensory potential as regular skin, and are somewhat like non-newtonian liquids, only fully turning into solid bulletproof metal whenever bullets or other harmful weaponry come into contact with him. When relaxed, the metallic “scales” take on a much more soft, flesh-like consistency and become highly responsive to physical sensations (when hardened, pain is dulled greatly).
There’s a lot more fanmade lore about Abyssal Blazko that me and John have written together, but I’ll write more about that in a different post, maybe.
