Why am I working on little A5 black-and-white versions of London pub signs? Well, the answer, obviously, is because I’m getting married in September (thank you, yes, it’s all very exciting) and this is the sort of thing you do apparently...
Our tables are going to be named after pubs (it’s the closest we’re getting to a theme) and, before you ask, yes, it would definitely be much easier to just write the names of the pubs on some nice card or print out a picture of the pub and be done with it, but where would the fun be in that?
I sometimes get emails at work (from people who are trying their hardest to be polite, I hasten to add), addressed to 'Mrs Aristofranes' and usually my reaction is a slightly hysterical 'nooooooooo hahaha I'm not a Mrs I'd have to be like 150 years old to be a Mrs I spent most of my last paycheque on nerdy t-shirts and books and I want to run away and become a beekeper or maybe draw Mrs Hudson cartoons for a living so I clearly am not grown up enough to be a Mrs'. But then I got one today, and I realised that in a couple of months I will actually be Mrs Aristofranes and the only logical explanation is that I must be 150 years old.
Quick Life Update...
I get married THIS SUNDAY. Wowzers.
Because of this, while the next episode of The Adventures of Mrs Hudson will go out as usual next Tuesday, there’ll be a slightly longer gap of three weeks until the next one. But that does mean that it will also tie in nicely with the first anniversary of these silly doodles, so we can all pretend that I planned it that way :)
(I honestly thought I’d be able to get next week’s and the one after that drawn up, queued and ready to go before we head off on honeymoon, but apparently in the week before your wedding (when you’re also frantically trying to tie things off during one of the busiest times of year at work) there’s really quite a lot to do. Who knew?!)
TL;DR: I’m getting married and am super busy - so while the next Mrs H will arrive on time next Tuesday, the one after that will be delayed.
Thank you all so much for your lovely replies to this, and I’m so sorry that I haven’t had a chance to reply to you all - rest assured, it was a lovely day (the sun even made an unexpected appearance) and I don’t think I’ve stopped grinning since...
