I read a lot about just bad sequels coming out and in all kinds of arts, like books, games, movies and television series.
But the thing is, itâs not that good stuff doesnât come out anymore, but it doesnât get as much advertisement anymore.
I have to search so much to find something good (thatâs not fanfiction, because there is so much amazing stuff that is so easy to find, especially easy to look for what I want to read in the moment and how long it is aswell). There is still so much amazing stuff, but because big companies like Disney just overflow everything with their advertisment itâs hard to find the good stuff.
Over the Garden Wall came out 2014 and the only reason I knew about it, was because amazon prime had it in the âonly available for a short periodâ section, so I watched it in one go and it was wonderful.
But I would have never seen it, if it wasnât for that lucky moment. Because there is no advertisment at all.
My favourite author is in nearly no bookstore, even if his books get translated in over 20 languages, because itâs not your average everyday thriller.
So the problem isnât that there isnât good content, the problem is finding said good content.
Because the big companies donât care about good storys, but only about making money, which is why bad sequels or remakes are coming more often, because itâs cheaper to copy than to write new.

the minecraft trailer pisses me off so bad because I hate how there's just like NO creativity with video game movies. all of them are isokais, and their target audience is not for the people who played the games but instead for the general audience, with just easter eggs for the actual fans and AAAAAAAAH im just so mad because a minecraft movie could be so good???
like the most basic idea would be to just have Steve live in this world, mining and crafting, living his life. he thinks he's the only one until one day when he finds Alex, an explorer, who introduces him to the ender dragon and then they tag along to the nether, etc, making it an adventure movie. that's like the most surface level idea and it's already better than how the trailer looks.
you could make it about the history of minecraft, show the people some of the lore and worldbuilding behind the game.
OR, my personal fav idea - make a movie about what happens after the ender dragon. after you've completed the game. the wither is killed, collected, multiple times even. you have the elytra. you have managed to get everything you ever worked for in your life - what do you do now? there's nothing more to do. you don't have a goal anymore, you've beat the boss, you are above everything. how do you keep living life when you don't have a meaning for it anymore? it would go very well together with the end credits of minecraft, the thematic expressions, and OH MY GOD I JUST WANT A GOOD VIDEO GAME MOVIE THAT CAN SHOW PEOPLE VIDEO GAMES HAVE MEANING AND SOUL AND AAAAAAAAAAAARGH
