new prophecy au

I’ve been hinting at it so here’s my grand reveal

im writing a new prophecy au, someone in the community said that the characters should be apprentices and they shouldn’t already know each other. I took that and ran all the way to the lake with it

behold, the NEW prophecy cats: Squirrelpaw, Crowpaw, Amberpaw (Riverclan), Smokepaw, and Talonpaw. (more descriptions coming soon)

Since July 2023 (currently March 2024)

no idea, something like 200,000 maybe???(several books)

overwriter and underwriter

uh… cats?

yes multiple romances

been planning also since July 2023

the warrior cat series new prophecy

trees nature

I hope so I’m so close

kind’ve. Yes but no

Starting the final book/personal things that have been keeping me from writing

both. Characters are told things but also they have to decide whether or not to follow that and that will cause the plot

no, it’s a fanfic so I can’t publish it anywhere but like ao3 or tumblr

I would but I’m too tired (I might later)

big climactic scenes especially when I have to start with them

not really, I just do whatever

dialogue, I find it difficult to make characters sound different to each other

There are 7 main characters most of them are good cats one is on the line

used to be traveling now there’s spoiler things

There was a hollow with steep sides. At the bottom is sloped into a covered cave. The others came down slowly but steady. Then they walked into the cave together. Crystals grew from the walls, emitting small beacons of light. He turned the corner. A smooth crystal grew from the earth, shining with light. The five of them slowly laid down around the Moonstone. Still a pang of hurt hit him. But the cave was growing brighter as the Moonstone started glowing, brighter and brighter until it almost hurt to look at. Then voices echoed, not just the she-cats but it seemed thousands of cats speaking at the same time.

I don’t really know, I haven’t gotten to anything that’s an absolute no yet

I hate editing so there are probably a bunch of inconsistencies and I use way too many adverbs.

I guess whoever the warrior cats audience is so just warriors fans

i guess so but i know the friends i share it with wouldn’t make fun of it

themes and slow progression of a certain romance

not often, this is my comfort zone

I mostly write fanfiction, it’s WAY easier because there’s already a story set up and if you’re rewriting the way I am there’s usually parts of a plot you can take

i Don’t really know what this means

uhhh I don’t know

yes, it’s actually something I’m very confident in and it makes me feel good

30 book development/ author questions

because we all want to talk about the things we’re writing. also this is geared specifically towards new and aspiring original fiction writers, but it could probably work for fanfic writers and more established authors too :)

how long have you been working on your story?

what’s your current word count?

are you an overwriter or an underwriter?

what genre is it?

is there a romance? why do they fall in love?

how long did you/ have you been planning?

what are some things that inspired this story?

what are some words to describe the aesthetic?

do you think you’ll ever finish it?

do you know how it will end?

what’s your biggest roadblock?

is it more plot or character driven? is that your usual style?

do you want to get it traditionally published? do you think you’ll publish it at all or are you just writing for the sake of it?

your main character is lost in the woods, write a paragraph about it (i want to hear your style :D):

what scenes are hardest for you to write?

are there any authors who’s style you wan to emulate in your work?

do you find description or dialog more difficult?

what are your main characters flaws? are they a good person?

what is the conflict?

write a paragraph describing one of the locations, get as in-depth as you can:

is there anything you refuse to write?

be honest, what sucks about your writing (no one’s perfect so if you can’t think of anything go back and reread)?

who is the target audience?

are you insecure about your writing?

what thing are you finding hardest to convey in your story?

how often do you step outside your writing comfort zone?

do you or did you ever write fanfiction? if so do you find it easier to write it or original fiction (or even non-fiction)?

how self-indulgent are you with your writing?

how stylized is your writing?

do you think you’re a good writer?
