I'm gonna need my parents to stop rambling about me finding romance because "Oh! Your older sister said that she's not going to date anyone and now she has a boyfriend."

I AM NOT MY SISTER!

My sister is organized, social, and can stand her own ground. After all, she is the oldest child (the child that has their crap together). And because I'm not her, my parents try to mold me to become her for some reason (which is weird, because they also have problems with her).

Also, when she said that she was not going to date anyone, EVERYONE knew that was clearly going to be a lie. And it was. (Not saying that she lies all of the time, she is a very honest woman.) But the problem is that my parents apply that information to ME.

My sister is the generational family rep. I am the rain gauge of our family's sanity. We have our differences and different purposes in the family.

I'M AROMANTIC, DAMN IT!

It took at LEAST a decade of my life for my parents to know I'm NOT NORMAL. And it should have taken a decade of my life to know that dating was NOT for me, for crying out loud! And I tried!

They need to be okay with the fact that I am not going to date anyone, but clearly they are not satisfied for who I am, and I'm probably not titled "good enough" for them for being aromantic (which is what I am seeing right now).

"You'll find the RIGHT PERSON."

There are a million fish in the sea, loves. And all of them on a romantic level is a BAD IDEA.
