Have a good day <3
right, so some of y'all asked me to share my slides from the presentation i did on dmbj at my friends' powerpoint night, and so i finally got around to posting some of it. notes before we begin:
i cut out the most spoiler-heavy slides, just in case. these were mainly the ones explaining in-depth plot as well as worldbuilding history
the target audience for this presentation was my cluster of friends who signed up to listen to me infodump about something with no intention of watching the source material. if you are someone looking to get into dmbj but aren't sure how to go about it, this may not actually be helpful. you have been advised
background image sourced from here
ok, go!

Intermission: if you'd like to learn more about Xiao Hua and Hei Xiazi, please refer to this presentation by Ao3 user Ilgaksu

Bonus: my transition slides in between explaining the main series and Sha Hai novel plots

(for the record, the Sha Hai part of the presentation took up five whole slides)
Just discovered the 盗墓笔记 Graverobbers Chronicles (Dàomù bǐjì) and now I'm obsessed, both with the tv series (accidentally skipped around 2 prequels and now I'm figuring it out as I watch Ultimate Note) and now the books.
At the time of writing this, I am on episode 15/37 and dear God. The amount of craziness and plot twists is just the perfect amount to keep me entertained.
The books are in Chinese so it'll be a good reading practise as reading news articles and graded readers can get repetitive sometimes. Literary Chinese is quite different from the usual textbook or daily Chinese, so this is definitely an interesting challenge.
Here's the link to the site, it's one of the best sites for Chinese novels that I've seen to date and I highly recommend it.
