Been rewatching SOS and Kyle is like 90/100 years behind everything by the time he’s Freed from the lamp and poor Stanley is quite cynical and self-hatred/loath over being loved so this fits them.

Kyle, Stanley saw your burned remains and blamed himself and was blamed for decades he thought he was hallucinating when he saw you again after having his mind erased, thankfully Kyle took it in stride they both got happy tears-
Stanley: Show me Pennsylvania.
Kana: I don’t know Canadian geography.
she’s just messing with the little engines Stanley doesn’t even know much about the states he got immediately overseas which is true for his irl basis so that’s pretty neat, i low key think they’ll get along

this is after Stanley willingly fought against government agents to keep his boyfriend from being taken away and thrown about, Stanley may be grumpy bu he’s got a heart of gold (also someone take him to the hospital 🏥)
Duncan: I love chai tea-
Kyle: *slams teacup against the table* what did you just say?.. Chai tea?! cHai means Tea BRO- you’re-you’re saying TEA TEA- what?! Would I ask you for some coffee-coffee with room for cream-cream?!! Or coal-coal!! And water!!water!-

This is after Kyle is freed and chilling with everyone Everyone be noping out cause they have seen Kyle’s wrath (Stanley is like letting the bf do this and Nia agrees with Kyle XD)
First: Stanley I am freaking proud that you managed to save your boyfriend, Proteus but please: GO TO THERAPY YOU AIN'T GOOD MENTALLY
Second: Duncan, you just made the worst mistake even known to man, may Lady bless your soul when you're in the afterlife.
Proteus is blind and mute, as well as emaciated. To speak his lantern crackles like the cooling/heating of metal in morse code. He was cursed back in the 18th century by a witch when he disobeyed her, he was her personal servant at the time as fauns, or in Proteus's case- faun hybrids, were considered slaves by even other mythic. He was cursed to only see through fire, which his previous mistress abused greatly. Often setting a ring of fire around him to greatly disorient him. This was an agony to Proteus, and eventually his screams of pain annoyed the witch to the point where she cut his voice as well, only being able to speak through fire. After another while of this multi curse, the witch eventually turned the faun hybrid into her personal candelabra. His body fat being the wax and his hair and fur the wick with an eternal flame. One night the witch was hunted by the locals of the area, making Proteus free from her wrath, but not quite out of the woods. He ran far to the close horse-powered railway as the closest fire to him was a campfire the workers had set. They pitied him and gave him a new locomotives lamp so he could use to see. They also took it a step further in directing him to a local shaman. When the faun met the shaman they said they would be able to alter his curse but not remove it. They made it so that at long as Proteus was holding a flame he would be able to see, otherwise he would be completely blind. Proteus agreed and once the exchange was made the shaman directed him to the island of Sodor, where he was told his fate would be written. With nothing better to do the skeletal faun made his way to the fabled sanctuary, and as they say, the rest is history...
