Meet Tanno who lost her son Kota in 2011. Kota was a Shonen Jump fan and would use his pocket money to buy his Shonen Jump manga every week. Despite her son’s passing the mother has continued to buy Shonen Jump every week for her son. After 7 years and 3 months of her son’s passing, the collection will be complete this year.

It's been bugging my brain, and that's why I asked, as an AceSpec Person, it is much help!
my headcanon being Aceflux/AceSpec Kaneki and many of my characters being Aromantic or Asexual or on the A-Spectrum it's very helpful and scratches my brian well <3
How does Asexuality affect a ghouls' heat? Like if they are on the AceSpec does heat affect them at all?
Do they just not go through it at all, are the symptoms/affects not sexually but more romantically or sensually?
Do AceSpec Ghouls/Half-Ghouls exist/is it it possible for one to be on the AceSpec?

Acespec ghouls!
Just like humans, there are a variety of ways ghouls experience attraction, and the lack of it is no different. There are just as many ace and aro ghouls as humans
Unfortunately, they have some more things to deal with than humans do. Namely heat cycles and pheromones. They get effected by these same as anyone else because, unlike attraction, these are purely biological. And it is miserable. Heats are bad enough for allo ghouls, but ace ghouls have a whole other layer of shittiness. Their bodies respond the same, and some ace ghouls who aren’t sex repulsed will even have partnerships agreed on with friends for it just to appease the instincts, but those who don’t want that generally deal with it alone
For the most part though, aroace ghouls are accepted without issue. There’s some confusion with other ghouls as is to be expected, many thinking that they’re simply So Good At Defending Territory That They Aren’t Even Letting A Mate In, but there isn’t the same culture of marriage and romance that makes it an issue as it does with humans
In ghoul culture, relationships are less strict and defined. It’s common for ghouls to be polyamorous or not in relationships at all, and there are a lot of undefined dynamics that don’t fit into the human definition of a partnership. There are aro and ace ghouls who have romantic or sexual relationships with one or multiple partners, as well as some who would prefer neither. Since allo ghouls have plenty of relationships like these, it’s not uncommon for ghouls to go their whole life without being fully aware they’re ace or aro because the types of relationships they want or don’t want are considered completely normal
Ghoul Worldbuilding Headcanons:
Ghoul kitchens are always clean. Very few ghouls actually cook to begin with, which makes most of their kitchen indefinitely clean. And all of them can’t afford to leave evidence of their meals, so they clean up immediately.
Because of this, ghouls are commonly known as very tidy people among their human friends.
Koalas and Panda Bears are common favorite animals (or at least, animals of heavy interest) among ghouls for the fact that they also live on a single food source (albeit both plants — eucalyptus and bamboo)
Carnivorous animals that get demonized as “eating machines” like Sharks are also common favorite animals / animals of interest
Because of this, a lot of ghouls take interest in animals and want to go into a work field of either studying or working with animals. (If you can't work against the demonization of your own species, might as well work on helping other species!)
Given that Hide can keep Cain’s mouth shut in the novels to make him swallow human food, what if ghouls are like crocodiles and alligators? Incredible bite strength, but the muscle that opens their mouths is really weak.
Acting human requires a lot of suppression, far beyond what canon covers. Think about it: They have to ignore the scents they smell, everything they overhear, keep their strength and agility in check, avoid dangerous objects because they can't be harmed by it. And they have to guess and estimate all these limits, because they can't just ask. They even have to play dumb and fearful about knowledge of their own species, as public knowledge on ghouls and even the CCG is very low.
And it requires a lot of supplementation, too. They have to catch up on the importance of food in human culture, from favorite foods to grocery shopping. And be able to recognize the variety of human food, and pay attention to and prepared for common eating times. They've probably never experienced a true human restaurant besides coffee shops. They also have to make up family history since most ghouls are orphans, and stick to a single believable backstory.
Given that the CCG take ghoul bodies after killing them and turn them into quinques, having a body at all is a big deal amongst ghouls, and in recent history makes their death ceremonies not entirely unlike humans'
Having a real disconnect when it comes to the blood and gore side of horror. They can tell its meant to be terrifying and disgusting, but it gives them the complete opposite reaction. Which could either be really fun and enjoyable, or the source of alienation and guilt, depending on the ghoul
Whether its through chemosignals or simply overhearing heartbeats, ghouls can sense fear
(And lying too, probably)
If they can sense chemosignals, then that would make communicating through masks easier for them, as they don't need to read each other's expressions to tell emotions
Cats don't just purr from contentment, but also often purr when stressed, and there's a theory that cat purring aids in healing, which feels really ripe for worldbuilding considering that ghouls have regeneration. Maybe they go hand-in-hand — purring whenever their regeneration kicks in, or maybe they tend to purr when their regeneration gives out — instinctually using a more primative form of healing
(The theory also says that cat purring can lower stress and aid healing in humans too, so consider that for your ghoul x human ships! It wouldn't be an enhanced form of healing for humans, but it would still be comforting and have minor healing properties like the cat purring theory!)
Ghouls' eyes glow. Their kakugan glowing is pretty accepted as canon, but what if even their "normal" eyes glow too?

Also bonus headcanon for this specific scene: Donato really likes to sit in the dark and let his eyes glow creepily, just another fun little way to freak out cochlea's doves. But they quickly caught on to this and started keep the lights on. As Donato's friend, Haise's the only one who lets him sit in the dark during interrogations anymore. Enrichment :)
My Own Personal Additions:
Juuzou starts writing and drawing on Kaneki when he's overwhelmed or stressed or anything of the sorts.
Kaneki calls them his kids, it happened through one joke and then became this 'close friend joke' that only they get. (Because of the suspenders and belt hcs)
Juuzou explores more make-up, all of it, they eventually get incredibly good at it before teaching Naki how to.
Naki and Juuzou eventually convince Kaneki to try make-up. Turns out Kaneki loves dramatic eyeliner, but, likes soft make-up otherwise. (eyeshadow, lipstick, etc.)

This would have to happen after ghouls get decriminalized, but these three would make good friends
Juuzou already knows Kaneki since Hide introduced them, and Naki knows Kaneki from ghoul stuff, but Ken made the mistake of hanging around with both of them at the same time and they immediately hit it off
Juuzou is used to humans being creeped out by him for being generally weird, and Naki is used to ghouls not liking him for being over emotional, so they form a strange little bond over it. Naki will loudly and publicly threaten people who are mean to Suzuya
Naki and Juuzou are high empathy and low empathy respectively and when together, they almost balance each other. When one reacts too much or too little to something, the other is socially inept enough to just come right out and say the specific thing the other is doing wrong instead of neurotypically dance around it. Where Ayato would have yelled at Naki, Juuzou just says “When you cry outside people don’t like that so you should do that somewhere else, come on I know an alley,” and that actually works. Shinohara is amazed that he can try to explain that he shouldn’t grab people for days but all it takes is Naki saying “don’t touch unless I say you can or I’ll bite you” for him to get it
When Kaneki is with both of them it’s mostly just him trying to stop them from committing crimes. On their own they’re chaotic enough but together they become a positive feedback loop of bad ideas. On more that one occasion he’s grabbed onto Juuzou’s suspenders and Naki’s belt with his kagune like a leash
It took awhile of hanging out with them for Naki start thinking about how they seem... nicer than Jason. He talked with Ken about Oomori, and they both shared their experiences with him. Turns out he wasn’t good to Naki either, but he was Naki’s first big emotional connection and took advantage of that. Now that he has some better friends, he’s working through that, trying to unpack his time with him and understand what things Jason did that were actually parts of a healthy relationship and which parts were not. Kaneki is pretty good at helping him with it
Naki stims by tapping the tip of Koukaku against surfaces, and Juuzou has picked it up, using pens and sticks in place of the kagune
Ken has been trying to show Naki how to read, but he gets frustrated really easily when he doesn’t understand things so it’s been slow.
Juuzou and Kaneki asked about Naki’s eyeshadow, Juuzou because he doesn’t know what it is and Ken because he doesn’t know how he got it, and finds that apparently he’s been rubbing ink out of old magazines for the pigment. That’s probably not good for his skin so Kaneki got him some cheap makeup so he would at least not give himself dermatitis. The next day Ken finds both Naki and Juuzou wearing it, they boys have a new shared interest and Suzuya keeps looking at himself in reflections because it turns out they can both rock it
*aggressive whispering* they also could adopt Saiko...
(doesn't matter that Saiko is canonically ((I think)) only a few years younger that Kaneki, I find it cute and she already calls them 'Maman' sooo...)

Kaneki is a nurturing person. No one expects that of him but after he spends every morning tutoring Hinami on reading, practically adopts the quinx, and reminds Ayato so much of his dad that he calms the fuck down, no one can deny that this is a 43 year old suburban woman with three kids and kitschy home decor in the body of a deeply traumatized half ghoul man
Every so often, Ken will do something that someone will point out as a mom thing. Whether it be his stupid cardigans or berated Touka for doing the dishes badly or the fact that his bag is filled with napkins from restaurants and coffee shops that gave him too many because “we might need them”, he has the vibes of someone with kids
You look at his wedding caked up ass and tell me he wouldn’t rock the mom jeans
Since he started looking after the quinx and they gave him the half-joking Maman nickname, Hide has made so many milf jokes
A few years after Kaneki and Hideyoshi get married, they adopt two kids. At the adoption, Koma and Irimi exchanged bet money, Yoshimura admits that he already started a collage fund since it was only a matter of time, and Touka tied it all together with “fucking finally”

What if I made Tokyo Ghoul OC
I like the idea of Kakuja/Half-Kakuja play fighting.
This entire idea happened because of a cute dream of Centipede and T-Owl getting caught play fighting on camera or something.

Ghouls are known for their violence and instinct to kill, but that same instinct is present when they’re having fun. Ghouls play fight, they need to play fight. Any time ghouls are friends they have that instinct to make eye contact and drop into a mock-pounce stance to signal its TIME. If you’re around a group of ghouls for even a few minutes inevitably some will be launching themselves at each other like cats
This happens for a few reasons, a lot of energy, overactive hunting instinct, the stress relief offered by wrestling and biting, and of course their biological need to be injured from time to time. Based on this headcanon from @just-another-tokyo-ghoul-fan (they are so very smart and cool with amazing ideas and they inspire me to write more please check them out), ghoul’s healing factor can get overactive and go overboard “healing” things that aren’t wrong if they don’t have minor injuries to work on from time to time, and the safe, controlled injury of play fighting is necessary for a ghoul to stay healthy. It’s the regenerative equivalent of rabbits chewing on wood to file down teeth that never stop growing
Most of the time it’s chasing, pouncing and small quick bites. Not enough to do real damage or leave scars like marriage bites, but enough to kick in the healing factor. The CCG often finds ghouls covered in small, shallow bites and reports it as a sign of constant fighting due to their violent territorial behavior, but in reality it just means that that ghoul has friends and was having a fun time
Kakujas, being both far more controlled by instinct and way more regenerative, NEED TO PLAY FIGHT SO BAD. In fact, one of the major factors of how well a kakuja transformation goes is whether or not they are having survivable fights to help them form better kakuja structures, learn how to use it, and get enough small injuries that their bodies redirect some rc to heal instead of forcing it all into the kakuhou
Even once fully formed, kakujas are very quick to drop into the play-stance at people and get twitchy without that comfortable method of controlled violence. With how often they’re shunned and feared by their communities, they sadly tend to have few or no people to spar with, and it’s a factor in their mental state. One of the reasons kakuja are so aggressive is that they don’t have non-lethal outlets for that energy and it stresses them even more
Ghouls in their full kakuja form, especially those that aren’t used to it yet, are almost like dogs in how they play. Being so lost in instinct may make them incredible fighters, but it also makes them downright ridiculous when playful. It’s all splaying limbs and flapping kagune structures and strange happy growls. It can be terrifying to watch kakujas playing because it looks so bloody and violent, but they’re having a great time. It’s enrichment that they need and benefits both their mental and physical states
You better BELIEVE Eto and Tatara were play fighting constantly when they were becoming kakujas. Renji had to come over daily to kick Uta’s ass while they were transforming. Now with kaneki becoming a kakuja, he’s going to need someone to playfully kick his ass too. Centipede vs the Owl? I’m imagining the monster equivalent of an overly hyper kitten being easily shoved down by a big dog and they’re having a great time

Quadrobics in Kakuja (and mildly Ghouls) ✨🐾✨
Kakuja have heavier/denser RC cells in their Kagune and they rely more on instincts.
The fact their Kagune is heavier, they balance it by giving more points for impact/connection making less strain on their legs. (Sry bikaku or ukaku Kakuja.)
Kakuja have longer arms so they look a little funky when they stand on just their legs, speaking of legs they stand on their toes (digitigrade).
Them walking quadrupedally makes them develop a weird way of walking bipedally. Often still on their toes or hunched over.
In addition to longer arms; longer metacarpals in their feet and (slightly) shorter fibula and tibia, again making it more comfortable to walk on all fours that not.
All of these characteristics get more noticeable when they spend less time around/with humans. (Aogiri, I'm looking at you.)
Since they rely more on instincts, it makes them more sporadic (speratic?) and unpredictable when fighting; but also means they could accidentally hurt someone they love if they're stressed enough, which is easier to do to Kakuja than to ghouls. (If the CCG keeps Kakuja they totally do this more to them, just to be like 'look at these monsters! they hurt their allies!' tbh I bet they would never admit their 'allies' are their friends)
While ghouls also do quadrobics, because it's not as often, they don't commonly develope these characteristics but if they spend enough time away from populated areas then they will develop mild-moderate
I've barely fleshed out these ideas, feel free to add to it!

I chose that Arima has a creepy notebook/scrapbook/whatever the heck he needs it to be, where he hides all his emotions
One day Marude just sees his notebook, paint drying snaps a photo and leaves before Arima comes back
He sends this to people (Shinohara, Amon, Both Mado, Ui, and Take, + some others,) and one of them (maybe Shinohara) starts a group chat with people who Marude sent this to
Before that he was like what, what the heck?!?
Like everyone was surprised, except Juuzou, who found out be stealing Shinohara’s phone.
Like they all freak out because they can’t read any of his hand writing, it take 1 week for Marude and Mado working together(!) to decrypt the the words
Take is just like wha? Why did he keep this s a secret. Like he cares about Arima, despite him not showing it much. He knows about the garden. He just didn’t think that it would effect him this much
Shinohara knows that he saw Arima with a red line on his neck multiple times in the past, always trying to hide it. This just confirms it, also the fact that he thinks of ghouls, like the binge eater, as family creeps him out and he is disgusted by it
Mado is surprised when the uncover the one that says half ghoul, he knew something was up with Arima, but didn’t everybody at first. He wonders about why Arima can eat normal food and why he does eat humans, more research to be done. (I say it all like he is calm because I can’t translate to Kureo speech with how many thought are I my brain at this moment)

Let me make it very clear. I do not know how I painted the blood on Arima’s shirt. It was a fluke. And I am failing to replicate it…
Fandom art; part 1
First one is of Ken kenaki, I painted him with water colors. And it was the first use of my brush pens, so it is an older piece, it took up most of the page; size is medium - large
Second is Arima Yusa from my Au. Tokyo ghoul is the fandom again. I decided that he would like lose clothing and where masks around. He still doesn’t feel comfortable with the new changes going on in the world. In my Au there are major changes(Will be explained at one point), so he lives with Take Hirako. Full page size: Large
Third is also from my Au of Tokyo ghoul, this is also Arima Yusa. Like I said before a lot of changes. Too much too explain In this post. He is in a coffee shop. Either Re: or Anteiku, still don’t know Yusa’s age (which will change the story, comment if you know,) this was my favorite painting and it took a long time. Full page, size: Large
Now the Fourth……. Honestly I will just say the characters 4 OCs, 1 Kakashi, 1 Arima, 1 Kenaki, 1 kijima(don’t remember his name properly), 1 Eto/Takatsuki Sen, 1 Uta, and 1 Kate Kane (Have fun finding them)
Fifth is Tim Drake, this is a Lazarus Tim Fanart. Just for the concept itself not for a specific thing. I also decided to draw circles at the bottom, which I turned in to rocks. I did this for practice with line confidence, plus the challenge of monochromatic
Last, but not least, a close up of Tim. I actually use a piece of golden take for the choker in this.
