reinforced by episode 101 (rip) and the whole 'breaking the right mirrors to get through the spiral' thing i figured he probably has mirror eyes. i kind of assumed it when i first heard it talk/sasha's initial description of itbut i think it would be an interesting concept if the spiral made it gouge its eyes out so it would no longer have to serve the eye/the institute

as a part of the whole mirror-eyes thing i think they wouldn't be like regular mirrors but like when you put two mirrors across from each other and it creates a funky kind of repeating hallway effect? idk how to describe it afjdjak and when you look into them properly it doesn't show you your actual normal reflection but the worst parts of your mind and makes the average person have an existential crisis

also kind of on that note but i think the distortion's hallways probably look a bit like two mirrors facing each other, like what you might imagine the fourth dimension looking like. so you can't properly tell if you're moving forward or sideways or backwards or what

the distortion has some sort of dissociation/derealization thing, michael in particular. i don't notice it as much with helen but i definitely get the impression of smth like that going on with him. maybe helen hides it more? idk

when he was alive he used to keep his hair tied up constantly bc he thought that it was too curly and 'unruly' to be left untied

lost its hairtie in sannikov land and decided fuck it, no more hair ties

dissociated the whoooole way through sannikov land and hardly remembers anything aside from vague details, the distortion part of him is the only one who remembers anything and its all in third person ofc

can hide its more distorted features but it takes a lot of effort and can only last a short amount of time (like a dayish) but when its seen in a mirror/peripheral vision/other distorted surface you can see what it actually looks like

when you look at him closely you can't really tell at what point he seperates from his surroundings, like he blurs around the edges

description of it is nearly impossible to give and is full of contradictions, only vague details can be given

anyway that's all i can think of for now. but um. have fun with it i guess
