Thinking about kdj and yjh again (as always) and obviously they’re life and death companions but also to some degree I feel like they almost symbolize life and death *as* companions. Idk if this is commonly talked about in the fandom but I have not seen anyone else talk about it so I’ll get into it

Yjh (life):

-in a cycle, repeating over and over, evolving his skills during each cycle

-does not have mercy for the weak, essentially allows for only the strong to survive

-often described as beautiful but scary

-deep down his motive as a god is to fight

Kdj (death):

-watches silently, but helps save people from that cycle

-comforting to others because he reassures them that they won’t have to struggle for much longer

-described as ugly, but only because no one can really see what he looks like

-deep down his motive as a god is to observe quietly and wait
