first ep of s3 already had me ;-;
just the messages of like.., "live your life however you want to" and "take your time, what you want to do in the future doesn't necessarily have to be a career" and "hey, i started this on a whim. but i'm not lying when i say that this is what i love" and "you have time, you haven't wasted your life, you have so much ahead of you" and "you are okay and you are going to be okay"-
mp100 is so good it's so fucking good it means so much to me and this first episode absolutely just punched me directly in the goddamn heart
mob being ambitious and earnest about the costume making and helping to produce something incredibly well crafted and creative and motivating his classmates to try hard too, and then showing all of them being proud of the payoff. the oil paint ED. the quiet but sweet music that plays during the festival. serizawa deciding to go to night school and being a complete fucking boss with the business cards reigen gave him that can TURN INTO A MAKESHIFT SWORD. reigen cheating HIMSELF out of a million yen with his spieling and updating his silly website with a cool art graphic he made himself. can you hear me caterwauling

okay when i say the animation in this episode looked weird i dont mean it was a bad thing, i think honestly the kind of simplistic drawing in this episode felt super soft and i kind of dig it actually? like maybe in other episodes it would look strange but in the context of this episode, where they are living out tome’s childhood dream, the “childish” animation fit perfectly. it looked like childrens drawings to me sometimes, and it evoked a very nostalgic feeling for me, and considering this episode is kind of a mini coming-of-age episode for them all, tome especially, i think it was likely a conscious decision on the directors/animators’ part to do this
for the rest of mob psycho season 3 we are about to see every character come into the full circle from the development they started with at the beginning of the show :’) it’s gonna be emotional and epic!!
i think mp100 final arc is the subversion of that one trope where the main character is corrupted and his friends and loved ones have to fight him in order to wake up the "real" him
bc mob's ???% isnt actually his corrupted version its just a part of himself that is repressed and concealed from everyone. and once it releases, instead of everyone having to fight him, theyre actually reaching out so that they could save him from breaking down
all the characters involved in this arc have grown and changed thanks to mob's kindness. now it's their time to return the favor.

With Mob’s cheerful laughter, thank you studio bones and ONE for this wonderful journey and ending. I’ll miss watching Mob Psycho so much
