happy cactus ring day to those who celebrate

desert duo stargazing together in the sand.
eventually they can recognize the constellations that they can see from their base and they can start pointing them out
navigating back home by the light of the stars that they've stared at so many times
you know, its harder to see the stars when the sky is filled with smoke, from the fire and explosions of trying to defend themselves
and when the smoke finally clears, when the fighting is over, there's no more "together"
the night sky suddenly feels so much more vast around you when you're looking up at it alone
working on a new desert duo fic👍
its gonna be in short bursts so prob gonna post it on here incrementally then maybe move it to ao3 if it gets long enough xD
