the fact that misha feels terrible about us being sad makes me sick. it's digusting that the cw isn't owning up to their mistakes, making an actor say something about the spanish dub, and then feeling terrible about how he couldn't help the fans get the recognition we deserve. censorship is fucked i've had my last fucking straw pulled. misha is one of my favorite actors, and often is my inspiration for wanting to follow into the acting business. but when i see shit like this happening? someone needs to fucking own up and say some shit. an actor who poured everything into the confession, giving the queer fans something we really needed, should not feel sorry for what has happened.
while i will write for the other requests i've gotten, i'm going to take break from writing just because of all the crazy things that have been happening
For those of you that think this is just about Destiel, I'm sorry you're wrong.
This is about Lily, who was the first of the special children to die. She was murdered and hung on a tower for shock value.
This is about Corbett, who was the first and only of the ghost facers to die. who's sexuality was used for comic relief (yes, I know we all enjoy the "Gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day" line, but let's call a spade a spade.
This is about Demian and Barns, whose relationship was used for comedic shock.
This is about Charlie, our first recurring LGBTQ+ character, whose brutal off screen death was used to "move the story along."
This is about Max Banes, whose story was forgotten about, even though there was obviously more to tell.
This is about Kaia, who was killed after expressing interest in Claire. And claire, for being almost erased from the narrative after the confirmation that she felt the same.
This is about AU Charlie, who lost TWO separate girlfriends and then was killed herself. (And erasing the scene where she awkwardly talks to Sam about her tryst with ROWENA)
And yes, it is about Castiel. The NB Angel in a Male vessel who fell in love with a man, and was killed after confessing said love.
And Dean Winchester, because honestly, who knows, but all signs point a certain way, but it is not our story to tell. it was his. And he was killed before he could. Before he could even explore what it means to be truly free, he was killed.
These aren't the only instances on the show either. There are several throughout ALL of the seasons where LGBTQ+ people have been used for comedy or shock value and then never heard from or seen again.
They could have done so much by just letting three little words, Hell, two fucking words, on screen, but they refused to make a stand and chose to pander to a dying audience.
So yes, we will celebrate the "Y yo a ti, Cas." We will try to figure out what went wrong in translation or editing, because this is so much bigger than Destiel.
For those of you who see these examples and say " see, you've always had rep, you just wanted to see Castiel and Dean together." Let me ask you? Is killing or writing off every LGBTQ+ member on your show really good rep?
For those of you who say " Well, Dean was always straight and changing it this late in the Game would have been pandering!" While, I know alot of people saw him as uber heterosexual, some of us never did, but that's not the point. People do come out later in life you know? Being anything other than strictly heterosexual is terrifying. There are so many risks. It takes years to build up the courage to be yourself, some people never even get the chance.it would not have been pandering, it would have been groundbreaking. It would have let people see that it is never too late to be free. But they didn't want to do that.
For those of you who think it was fetishization of two "hot dudes"..... maybe for some, and those people should be ashamed, because sexuality should never be fetishized. But get this, the story of Destiel was loved by all members of the community, as well as straight people too, and believe me, some of those members have no desire to see two dudes getting it on. It was the story of unconditional love and respect that drew us in.
This isn't just about Destiel. It IS about showing people that it's okay to love who you love and being free to be who you are, regardless of what society thinks.
So yes, we will go feral. We deserve it.
Supernatural had the opportunity to do something great. To send a message of love and validation to a whole community. Not only to the part of the community that liked their show, but to all of us. But instead they decided to pander to the people, who never had to fight for their representation.
I support #TheySilencedYou, #TheySilencedThem and #TheyWillNeverSilenceUs and I'm in awe of all of you. Of your eloquence, passion, coordination and decisiveness. And I feel like your message goes beyond this particular TV show and the CW.
It's about protesting a pattern of disrespect towards otherness in Mainstream Media. It's about demanding meaningful, unmistakably queer representation, that enables discourse and furthers understanding in a heterogenic audience. It's about asking Networks to not only hire diverse staff but to also give them the freedom to tell their stories the way they want to. It's about telling creators to own up to the inherent messages they leave us with in the end.
And that's inspiring and should be celebrated.

I was a they silenced you one and it went through how the fandom was feeling about the finale and then it shows Dean, Cas, Clair, and Eileen there where probably more I can’t think of right now but please help me find it. If all of us goes to Twitter and send several tweets starting off with #TheySilencedYou and then sharing what it means to you it will have so much power! Let's let them understand that they fucked with the wrong fandom! Let's let them understand what they took away from us! I haven't been able to watch the show or even see the name on the TV guide without wanting to cry, scream or vomit! I haven't been able to read or write anything for it either and that really pisses me off! Even a week later I am still filled with RAGE! Angry that we apparently love the characters more then they do!!! That they didn't need to kill off Charlie#2 girlfriend! That all Charlies deserve a long love-filled life and not get killed off for shock value. All that and Cass bless the Spanish!

Jensen wasn’t letting us know he took video of BTS 15x18 for himself. It was a veiled threat to CW because he had THE ENTIRE SCENE ON FILM! Cass bless you Jensen Ackles!
My concern with silence…
Yes maybe it is because the people on the show can’t talk about things they know…BUT there is also the dark side. The Money side. When someone has been on a show for 15years they get typecast. Harder to find other work.
Yes Jensen and Jared got work right away but it isn’t a given those jobs are going to work out...they just have jobs. People will see them as Dean and Sam for awhile…and with how shitty the finale was people aren’t to fond of them either.
Now the cast gets paid for reruns…and what happens to reruns if the show is pulled from TNT for lack of people watching it? No reruns…taken off Netflix…means no new money coming in. And what if because of protests not many new copies of the show on DVD are bought…even less money. Remember The Cosby Show when it got pulled and some of the cast had to get normal jobs because they had been living off the royalties from the reruns etc.
Not that Misha isn’t an amazing actor but I can sooo see him freaking out about the ground swell of TheySilencedYou and other such responses from us and worrying a bit about the future. The security blanket that would be the royalties from the reruns etc.
After everything going on with the last few episodes of the show I just don’t have much trust for any good motives from anyone on it. They always promised us they cared but I just don’t think anyone had the balls to truly stand up and say NO. If Jensen would have stood his ground they would have had no other choice but to fix things. He is one of the two main roles.
But once again money showed up and he had to be careful about his future too. (funny how he got a production company from Warner Brothers who own CW after agreeing to the ending.) And I 100% understand! In this crazy world nothing is a given and you have to watch your butt as much as you can. I just hate that it had to come to that after 15 years of a show that meant something.
The characters deserve better…the fans who used…emphasis on used (past tense)…the show as a comfort and an escape deserve better. I haven’t watched SPN on TNT/Netflix/CW all week since the shit show of 15x20 and sadly I have no plans to watch it again. Just seeing it listed on the guide made my stomach sick. Even the enjoyment of reading about the characters in fanfiction stopped because they turned Sam and Dean in jerks who verbally said only they mattered in the end.
Hate to tell the show but without the supporting characters to save Dean and Sam over the years they would have died years ago. And if they truly think Dean and Sam feel that way then that means for 15 years of the show those two brothers were using everyone. YUCK!
That is why the finale sucked…they tainted 15 years of messages that meant so much to us all. Family DON’T end with blood…ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING…TEAM (not just two brothers) Free Will!
And apparently they wanted us to believe not only that Jack brought back all the evil monsters that hurts those kids and families…but that Cass sat back and didn’t run down to the barn and save Dean from dying. FUCK THAT!
Now the Jack part…fine…Garth and other good monsters would not be around either (although I am sure all of them would have gladly died knowing ALL monsters were gone too)…blah…blah…blah fine…BUT CASS WOULD HAVE COME RUNNING TO SAVE DEAN.
They didn’t even call out for Jack to help! I mean come on…had it been any other season…any other episode but the last one they would have had EITHER Jack or Cass come to save Dean.
AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE SHITTING DEATH THEY GAVE DEAN FREAKIN WINCHESTER!!! SHITTY!!!!! LET HIM GO OUT LIKE A WARRIOR NOT ON A RUSTY DAMN NAIL with the evil vampire clown posse!!!
So yeah silence seems like our friend but I fear it is more about saving their own asses than caring about our feelings. In the end it is all about money and which way would hurt the product/their futures more…and in their eyes having Dean (who clearly checked out the solider and NOT the two women when he traveled back in time and hung out with Elliot Ness) being Bi and having to admit he wasn’t this straight man would cause more damage than having the balls to let him say he liked men and women.
Money…Money…Money not Morals makes the world go round. And with the whole shit-fest of the Spanish dub and Misha saying it wasn’t even scripted to end any other way for real then what happened in 15x18 and that the change was just some rouge translator screwing up (yes sadly see Facebook and Twitter where he posted a video about it)…GRR!!!
I bled for SPN! I could have told you trivia so detailed from all 15 years. I wrote about it and i knew those characters inside and out…like ALOT of us did. They took so much from us with how they ended the show. And they still refuse to acknowledge that. But then they killed every one of Charlie’s girlfriends in all dimensions so why should we really think they care about us and what they did to us?! Until the cast speak up and say differently…I just don’t believe in any of it anymore.
They ruined SPN’s legacy…no matter how they spin all this (and they will try) it will never be the same. Such a shame.
I truly don't think they understand how hurt we are...it is like if they can forget everyone else in 15x20...then who are we to them? They barely mourned anyone...they were laughing even and playing with pie!! we were crying for two weeks for our angel believing it wasn't going to be for nothing...and yet it was...Dean just stopped fighting and died. Cass died so Dean wouldn't and Dean just spits on him. Then they brought Eileen back and POOF she was gone without mourning too. We mourned for her more than they did. It is just getting to be too much...the show I used for comfort is now the thing I need to seek comfort to deal with.

Ever since the shitshow of 15x20 …whenever I hear ANY show say the word sup*rnatural I grimace and feel a bit growly! Like I actually make a face and get mad. Sucks because the show had been my go-to when I needed to get away from things…and now it is the very thing I need to stay away from because it makes me feel toxic! I haven’t watched one episode on TNT or Netflix since 15x20 happened. Just seeing the show on the TV guide makes me grimace and feel sick. I haven’t even been able to read any stories with them in either. Grrr…sigh…Makes me madder that they took it all away from me.

If anyone wants to help with dinging the US CW early, even if plans on the long term hard-haul won’t hit till this weekend, please do the following:
- Unfollow the US CW accounts. SPN, or whatever ones you follow. Like right now. All of them. Every platform.
- Stop streaming it immediately. If you’re one of those people that only use netflix for SPN, cancel it, right now, and in the option box to explain why, tell them the deletion of queer content in the US version of Supernatural that was allowed in other countries.
- Stop engaging on any official hashtags on any major media (IG, FB, TWT). Or anything even official-adjacent. SPN, Supernatural, SPNfamily, WinchestersForever, etc. CastielForever is currently housing the LGBT fundraising so continue using it if you must but ONLY that one. That alone is a rebellion statement but once that fundraising is over, desist immediately.
- Only purchase things from fanartists, discontinue swag, conventions, etc.
- Start replacing official hashtags with #rancidnutwork and #theysilencedyou
- reblog this post, don’t just like, make sure everyone gets on board.
- Stay tuned to the blog for the drop this weekend on how we start hitting the CW on their advertising. Do not go rogue on this. Wait for centralized messaging and signaling. This has to be done meticulously or it’ll fail. Just… wait for it. It’s coming. We’re working on it. Have been for a while.
