Can you imagine if Dean had been the one that Gabriel was trying to teach a lesson to during Mystery Spot? If Sam had been the one to die every day? Watching his baby brother die over and over and over and not being able to stop it? Of course when it finally rolled to Wednesday, and Sam died again but this time the day didn't reset, Dean would have just killed himself, which is probably why Gabriel didn't even try to teach him.

imagine the absolute manic frenzy Dean would be in by the time he got Sam back properly
and how that would translate to deranged desperate needy closeness touching holding like it would all disappear with another blaring alarm
