October 19th 1991 and July 2nd 1965. Those are the birth dates of Wolf and Snake. It shows it in the movie. Did you pick anybody, or is it just random?

Pierre Perifel (director): "I do believe it's the birth dates from artists in the art department. I wouldn't be able to tell you who exactly because I don't know, but I'm pretty sure these are birth dates from people on the team. And you'll see in the movie, on the walls in the streets, graffitis of names of the crew."

Professor Marmalade is a guinea pig, and he controls those other guinea pigs who are in cages and unable to talk and not in clothes. Is it like a Goofy & Pluto situation, where some can talk, some don't, and some animals evolved? Or is it something else?

Pierre Perifel: "I don't want to necessarily spoil much, but if you've read the books, you know that Marmalade is not a guinea pig. So we're playing with that ambiguity at the moment. But again, that's for future occurences, if that happens too."

I love all the oceans eleven references and the Clooney jokes, and that first scene of the characters talking in a restaurant before going to rob a bank.

Pierre Perifel: "Actually, the movie used to start more like Out Of Sight then Pulp Fiction. You know, that opening scene is an homage to Pulp Fiction, but it originally started with Wolf walking in the bank incredibly calm and charming, and just kind of seducing the woman teller to take him to the bank vault and rob it all. Yeah, we were incredibly influenced by Ocean's Eleven and the dialogue in there, the humor, and all of these twists and cons. So it really was the intent from the beginning and, of course, the clothing and the outfits it was a big part of that eleven members of the film. So Wolf is very much inspired by Brad Pitt for his outfit, we used a lot of that. We did so many iterations for his costumes it was really tricky, and we ended up with the same white one by the way. White and just dark with yellow eyes, iconic and simple. We did so many tests and so many variants, there was a leather jacket at one point, but it was a little less iconic in a way. And Snake, the very first sketch I did four years ago when we just started, it was exactly Snake with the hat and Hawaiian shirt and all, like in the final version."

There's a logic from this that I would love hear you talk about. The animals are the main characters, and then everybody else is a human and yet that's perfectly okay in this world. You guys must have talked about that and it must have really effected the story. What is the logic?

Pierre Perifel: "Fist of all, I'm glad that we're not explaining it, even though we do have a logic and people go along, they don't question it. The books are not that, the books are all animals. But I didn't wanted it to feel like we were quickly going to fall into the Zootopia land, where these are predators and the rest are preys. It was not supposed to be that, because the message is really about our fears and our terror of these scary animals that we're afraid of for no reason necessarily. We write stories about them, and what I like to say is 'how does a giraffe react to a piranha? There's no fear there'. And so, it was all in our heads as humans, just of our phobias on these animals, and we had to make the rest of the world kind of a human world being able to just be afraid of these scary animals that we wrote stories about them, and scared of them for sometime now, for no valid reasons really. So this is why we did that blended world. And then same thing for Marmalade. He's representing goodness and misjudged also because of that, he's wearing a mask. And Diane is also a former villain, or bad guy."

October 19th 1991 And July 2nd 1965. Those Are The Birth Dates Of Wolf And Snake. It Shows It In The

One of the executive producer who worked on the movie is the author of the books, Aaron Blabey. What did he think of the split?

Pierre Perifel:"He was involved from the beginning, we've always kept him in the loupe. And he's been incredibly generous of letting us explore what we wanted to explore, to start the story before his first book, we also changed Tarantula's gender. He's always been incredibly supportive and let us do it as long as the characters were true to what he wrote, he was fine with basically anything, and the tone of the books. So no, he never really had any big red flags."

What Bad Guys books is the movie actually based on?

"So, as you know if you've read the books, in the very first few pages of the first book, Mr. Wolf is talking to the reader, and is basically gathering his crew and saying 'guys we're gonna go good.' So that's how it starts. And you get it immediately because he's the big bad wolf, and you understand where it's coming from. But we, for the movie, we really wanted to do a little bit of a prequel to this moment, and what led those characters to make that decision. So, we're not following one specific book in terms of the storyline, we're mostly creating our own storyline but taking some key moments or iconic moments from the books. It's really on the first four books, with moments like saving the guiena pigs in the lab, or saving the cat on the tree that were borrowed/adapted."x

THE BEST

The Bad Guys "Good Tonight" - full scene based on Aaron Blabey's book series

-Currently playing in theaters

Fun fact: during the dance scene, you can recognize a few signature moves originating from the character's voice actors: Sam Rockwell (Mr. Wolf) and Zazie Beetz (Diane Foxington). They hired real choreographers for this scene, and the actors, Rockwell and Beetz, wanted to do the choreography together but never got the chance due to scheduling issues.

What I seriously love about this is how the characters interact with each other like wolf and snake are like basically the parents of the whole group and shark, piranha and tarantula are the kids. Like they're one big happy family they're having fun and basically they're not just friends they're like one big happy family and they knew each other for years and it makes so much sense that snake and wolf would be the parents of the whole group

It just warms my heart when I think about it and I hope DreamWorks is going to make a 2nd movie of the bad guys

The bad guys 2: New good beginnings???

What do you guys think?

Cuz I really want them to make the bad guys 2 movie

WE NEED TO SEE MORE OF THIS CUTE HAPPY FAMILY 😭😭😭

What I Seriously Love About This Is How The Characters Interact With Each Other Like Wolf And Snake Are

@chaifootsteps @ben-the-hyena I saw your ask and I got you guys covered. The creators of the bad guys movie did say that Wolf and Snake are parents of the group in a few interviews:

I edited two different interviews in a single video so you guys can see them talk about the bad guys being a family, and about Wolf and Snake being parents (mom & dad) of the group.

Also, there's this one.

While watching this I can just imagine shark, snake, and piranha being interviewed about the movie lmfao

The Bad Guys Movie interview, but it's just Craig, Marc and Anthony making eachother laugh. I love them πŸ˜‚

Idk, this is just a compilation of different interviews combined together, where these 3 are just making others laugh and being kind of chaotic. Took forever to edit, and was originally 11 minutes long, so I cut it to 6 minutes.

I did my best πŸ˜…
