my friend has been teaching me shuttle tatting for last few weeks and i finally made something that i'm proud of! just a little piece of lace

old people hobbies are the best. and old people. i started tatting a while ago and i saw a post someone made about hand made shuttles and gave contact info to the person making them, pan Ryszard. i love pan Ryszard. he doesn't even know how to make lace himself but his daughter did and he made shuttles for her and now he makes them for other people. what a lovely hobby. i decided that i wanted one for myself so i called him. we talked for a while, he pointed out that i sound a lot younger than most people who usually order shuttles. then i mentioned matury, so he asked which ones i am taking. turned out he too took physics! he wished me luck and said he'll make me shuttles for free, since i need to focus on studying. here they are!
they are so pretty! for me woodworking is a like magic and they are so precisely made and so pretty!
anyway, pan Ryszard is now like, in my top 5 favourite people. i wish him all the best in life
Not blocked yet but I'm so happy with the results !!! It's honestly one of my biggest pieces of tatting to date.
there are some, tho not that many! i myself am a very beginner tatter but there are more experienced people sharing their beautiful creations here as well. to me instagram seems to be the social media of choice for tatting as there are so many photos of it there. hope that helps!
Are there...tatters on tumblr??? Is it a Thing? Could it be I'm not alone in the universe with my clicky shuttles and thread?
I mean...my mom tats, but she doesn't have any social media. Idk if there's a COMMUNITY for it on here, but if you try searching the tag system, you might find something. I know Pinterest has some tatting stuff, but I've never tried to be social on there.
my new and first (almost) finished tatting project! this will be a bracelet. i will be dyeing it green and after that i will add a metal clasp. i used a little modified Flower Bracelet/Bookmark pattern from this website
