In one hand there was a fancy packet of pop corns and the other holding onto a glass bottle of champagne. He looked at you with a smirk and moved the bottle forward." Want one? One bottle for each". He sat down opposite you looking outside at guys playing and throwing each other in the waters.

He didn't recognise you. On the other hand you recognised him the sec you saw the doe eyes nad jeekies. The one person who had managed to be friend you when you were 8. He had a genuine smile, wanted to be friends even without knowing who's daughter you were, made you laugh unlike others.

"Wait you-you're. " he looked at you woth huge eyes.

"yes I'm yn"

You said smiling for the first time in a while. His mouth fell to the ground.

But out of all the million questions he had to ask he chose a simple one.

"Why how why are you wet "

You smiled again. This is why you liked him. He didn't care about any controversy or scandel. He didn't inquire why you came back why you were at hyunjin's. He opted for the most reasonable one right now.

You were hesitant. You didn't bring any clothes. And you couldn't leave without seeing Hyunjin once again. It was entirely black flooring marble with different mirrors on each wall. As you were passing by the 1st door trying to soke out water from your hair you heard some noises. At any other time you wouldnt care but right now after everything you've been through you were too conscious and decided to peek in. You tried to pull the handle slowly but someone from the other side Whipped it open. "Hyunjin" you gasped. In your mind. "yn?" he said in his mind. No words exchanged as you stare into each others souls. Almost like telepathy. Until you stepped closer. That got him off guard as he instantly stepped back almost defensively.

"Hmm For a business man you are really bad at deciding for who to meet when" you said in purring tone bending side ways to the lady sitting on the edge of the bed.

"No, I decide when to waste time on who. And I wouldn't even waste my time on you so get out."

You look at your watch 3mins

Your talks with hj increased by 2. How progressive.

So you leave thinking tomorrow would be 5. " I ll be back"you say waving your fingers at him not turning around and closing the door shut.

When you stopped in his room though you noticed how he had only a bed and desk. Few lovely art pieces. And a full wall mirror, the one they have in dance rooms. For a room with huge ass mirror and balcony it was too dark due to all the blacks and Browns paint. The only point of colour being the one big painting amongst all others. Is he self obsessed what's with so many mirrors? You wondered to yourself. This is when you stop at your steps and your brain starts working.

The closet must be near the room you turn to your left the 2nd door. which leads you to the next golden handle. You push open and go inside. 2 islands in centre, one with luxury watches and next with bracelets. "His choice seems good I hope I find something good to wear".

You open the first wardrobe revealing a white oversized tee. You own the exact same one. It would perfectly work as a casual dress for you. But you wanted to wear something that screamed hwang Hyunjin. So you continued your search. "Something of his hmmm"

"Ahha this one!"

You picked a black crop blazer with a black trouser. Chic and bold. Perfect.

You were about to change when a thought interrupted you. "There must be cctv with so many expensive stuff."

You walk out of the closet. Trying to find the guest room. Thankfully it was the next room on the opposite side. After changing you take a good look at yourself and walk out to the living room.

You zoned out watching them again. You take a deep breath looking at all the guys playing in the waters so carelessly. Some are the sons of rich merchants or ceos or some self established. Even though your similar to them you didn't fit in here.

Why? You went away because you didn't want to be like them? The result... *grumble* you look down at your stomach realising you haven't had anything to eat since morning. So you rush out enter your car and drive away not thinking of anything else.

Linking your arms with jake you stood on the red carpet. You didn't care about the photo sesh. You would if Hyunjin was here. And as if timed. The next car after yours stopped and stepping out of it, came the hwang Siblings. You immediately locked eyes with the one you waited for so long. The one tested your patience. when he looked over you, eyes tracing from feet meeting your eyes again. He didn't display the same anger from before rather a confused pout. The scene would have unfolded just as how you wished but no. You've changed your mind. He has tested your patience and you wouldn't entertain him until you've calmed down. Breaking your eye contact you turned towards the doors entering the massive hall followed by him and then jake yeji.

All of the guests were seated at a really long glass table. The host being at the end. There were no media inside so you didn't care about being not seen with Hyunjin however both of your parents were present. They were the reason why you had Hyunjin by your side and yeji jake seated opposite of you. The evening had started slow. On your right was someone you never interacted with before. But as he conversed with Hyunjin you learned he's Lee minho from Lee enterprise.

" Lee minho how are you?" approached a older lady putting her hand down on his shoulder. He smiled but you noticed the way his lips twitched.

"things are good Mrs. Choi"

"oh are they. Good. Are you seeing anyone after...- ? You're too handsome for your own good you know "

he chuckled replying "after breaking off my engagement with annika you mean. No that was just for business. I'm not interested right now. Thank you for your concern. happy new year. "

So this is common here you thought. You left for L. A deciding you won't be controlled like the ones surrounding you. But the tables have seem to changed. Lee minho broke his engagement on his own accord. While you were stuck beside Hyunjin. Quite literally. And for what. Shaking your head you brushed off the thoughts. You didn't want to get all nostalgic and sad when the next year was just about to begin. Looking around you noticed everyone were interactive. jake being in a conversation with Felix about their same hometown. Well at least he was enjoying himself. Except you and yeji sitting awkwardly opposite each other after the earlier episode.

You honestly didn't take yeji's words to the heart. You've met enough mean people in college to know ignorance is bliss. But you do were confused as to why she yelled at you over a simple question. A simple question you thought she would appreciate. "which of these fit would Hyunjin like?" yes you did that to butter up to her but any normal person would smile and answer kindly. But she looked right through you. These guys were smart. You doubted if you should continue acting coy. It wouldn't surely work on him. But what choice do you have. Everybody is pure selfish. And you didn't get why Hyunjin keeps rejecting you when he could get an entire successful company under him overnight. You have your reasons to agree to this arrangement. But if his weren't money and power as you assumed what were his reasons to disagree. You clearly researched he doesn't have a girlfriend but no one knows what happens behind the scenes do they?

Any normal girl would have gotten giddy and prayed to the Lords above for making them lucky enough to 𝘨𝘦𝘵 him. Tall, young, rich. Except for you who's first love 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝖻𝖾𝗅𝗂𝖾𝗏𝖾 𝗂𝗇 𝖺𝖽𝗈𝗋𝖺𝗍𝗂𝗈𝗇 was snatched away, your mind was void of any 𝗌𝗎𝖼𝗁 thoughts. A contract to make your businesses flourish even more. A greedy act by all of you. Not that you count yourself in their category. For you business has been an act of independence from the beginning. Yet here you are today. Atleast you have started to act civil almost roommate𝗌 𝗅𝗂𝗄𝖾 with 𝖧wang Hyunjin who despised you utterly. And a part of you can't help but wonder what does he want from you that made him turn 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 overnight. But as long as it isn't 𝖺 𝖼𝗎𝗇𝗇𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝗌𝖼𝗁𝖾𝗆𝖾 you don't mind. Having breakfast with someone every morning, sharing a car when going out. Trivial things you managed to experience only in your 1st year of college as a hostel resident because later your mother forced you out to living in a condo something about not living with commoners. And with Hyunjin you would like to make it a comfortable routine. 'In a relationship where you can't love, you make friends.' That's why you lied today morning. You gave your driver a holiday using it as a excuse. Tomorrow might be ' I fired my driver' and later when your car arrives 'let's save environment! '.

A slow melody start𝗌 playing breaking your thoughts. And you look up to meet hyunjin's raised eyebrows. "sorry I zoned out" you sheepishly said. " This, it's a sweet song. The voice sounds familiar."

You say leaning back. Hyunjin starts the car back and drives a little further halting again at a safe distance. "yeah it's hannie's. Speaking of which I heard you're close to him"

"yeah. He was probably the only one who approached me when we were kids. I mean I just had a demeanor where I made it difficult for others to approach me .yeah maybe that's why I have a soft spot for him. I trust the people who approach me pretty quickly. Kind of a disadvantage in reality. "𝗒𝗈𝗎 𝖾𝗑𝗉𝗅𝖺𝗂𝗇𝖾𝖽.

" I understand" he replies softly and even though it's a common response almost everyone would have given, 𝖻𝗎𝗍 the sincerity in his eyes made you believe he truly understands what you meant. The moment is over just as the song changes. You cleared your throat an attempt to catch his attention "thank you for yesterday. I thought you'd call me out for intruding or something" you nervously smiled. " no, thank you for not bombarding me with questions and 𝗌 -" he smiled gulping his confession of scaring you with loud music down his throat.

"yeah I figured it was something private or rather embarrassing. But there was nothing embarrassing about it. It was honestly beautiful. Even With my minimal knowledge of dance I could see your individuality and expressiveness. I really like that Billie eilish song but your choreo made it feel just so real and... lonely. " hyunjin's eyes were on you but when you looked into them you couldn't decipher 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝗆𝖾𝖺𝗇𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝖻𝖾𝗁𝗂𝗇𝖽 𝗂𝗍 one bit. You felt a sensation tingling in your chest. Trying to lighten the mood you began again " if it was on YouTube it would have millions of views " you smiled. He smiled too but it didn't reach his eyes.

"1 million from random people surfing at night"

"no. 5 million from your fans".

He looked at you narrowing his eyes playfully. Just then a series of honking indicated the traffic was finally moving. He slowly lowered the volume the discomfort he was bearing visible by his body language. Hyunjin, since college was a dancer, he barely participated in any events or contests to keep his father in dark 𝖺𝖻𝗈𝗎𝗍 𝗁𝗂𝗌 𝖺𝖼𝗍𝗂𝗏𝗂𝗍𝗂𝖾𝗌. Since the last conversation they had regarding it in his middle school he never dared to bring it up again. Hence he danced his heart out in the darkness when the entire campus used to be deserted. That was the beginning of 𝗍𝗁𝖾 choreo 𝗒𝗈𝗎 𝗐𝗂𝗍𝗇𝖾𝗌𝗌𝖾𝖽 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝗉𝗋𝖾𝗏𝗂𝗈𝗎𝗌 𝗇𝗂𝗀𝗁𝗍. And it was completed in this very own house of his. When after all his friends left and the the party was over. The emptiness and the loneliness of both the dance and song fitted perfectly like two pieces of puzzle. And after years, you were the first one to watch him. To compliment 𝗁𝗂𝗆. After all the girls who flattered him 𝗂𝗇 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝗉𝖺𝗌𝗍 𝗍𝗈 𝖿𝗎𝗅𝖿𝗂𝗅 𝖽𝗂𝖿𝖿𝖾𝗋𝖾𝗇𝗍 𝗉𝗅𝖾𝖺𝗌𝗎𝗋𝖾𝗌 𝗈𝖿 𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗂𝗋𝗌 monetary or sexual. He doesn't know how he feels towards compliment𝗌 𝖺𝗇𝗒𝗆𝗈𝗋𝖾.
