This Stark party was no different than the rest. You met with a few celebrities, exchanged autographs, watched people get drunk off of the expensive liquor, and felt alone despite so many people.

Luckily, your boyfriend of 5 months, Steve, stayed by your side the entire time. Whenever you felt your anxiety start to rise in your chest you would hold his hand and he would rub his thumb along your knuckles as you tried to avoid strangers eyes.

Even though you hated these parties, you were told to attend because it would make the Avengers look better. "You know there are other ways to look good without it being a party," you said under your breath once the decision was made.

"I'll be with you the whole time, doll," Steve whispered as he wrapped his arms around your waist.

You sighed, the memory had distracted you from the loud gossip between people who barely knew you and you were removed from the quiet bliss of your mind by a familiar hand being placed on your back. "Are you ok?" Steve asked.

You softly shook your head and Steve instinctively kissed your cheek and squeezed your hand. "Do you want to go up to our room?" You gave a small nod as you both started moving towards the elevator.

Once inside the cramped space, Steve cupped your face. You moved your eyes from the floor to his face and gave him a tired smile. His eyebrows were furrowed in a way that made you melt because you knew from the worried expression that he cared.

Up until that moment you had felt like you were alone despite so many people. Now you felt like the whole world because of the man in front of you.

You were just about to say something before the elevator doors had opened. Steve walked you down to your shared room. He opened the door for you and you immediately went in the direction of your bedroom.

While you were removing your make-up, Steve was getting you a glass of water and a small bowl of your favorite snack. When he returned he saw you in a tank top and pajama bottoms slowly getting under the covers. He jogged over to your nightstand and quietly put down what he had brought for you.

The male hurriedly took of his formal attire and changed into a pair of sweatpants. Carefully getting under the covers, Steve was immediately wrapped in your arms as you let out a shaky breath.

Laying your head in the crook of his neck, you let your eyes close as you felt him run his fingers up and down your back. You caught a scent of cedarwood and nutmeg, recognizing his cologne. "How are you feeling?"

Steve was surprised to hear you ask him. "I'm felling okay, how are you feeling, sweetheart?" After all, how could he feel good when his best girl isn't?

"We don't have anything going on tomorrow right?" You ignored his question, making him sigh. At the shake of his head you hummed in acknowledgment.

"Do you want to stay in tomorrow? We can watch a movie and sleep in," Steve suggested, knowing where this was going. Nodding your head, he hummed which made you look up at him. "Did you not want to stay in?" you asked nervously.

Steve's mouth quirked into a smile, "Why would I ever want to leave the love of my life?" You felt your face heat up. Even after a month you still got flustered when he said things like that.

"I love you," you whispered before connecting your lips to his. He kissed you back, softly yet with all the passion and love he felt for you.

After a minute you both pulled away, your faces displaying a wide grin like a pair of teenagers. Your head returned to the crook of his neck, a smile not leaving your face as he said, "I love you, too."

Dare

Pairing: Steve Rogers x Female!Reader

Summary: As Tony Stark's assistant, you must always expect the unexpected. What you didn't expect was him asking you to play a game with his co-workers.

⚠️Warnings⚠️: Mega fluff, alcohol, brief swearing, embarrassment (idk if that counts but I'm putting it), Tony Stank being a lil shit, Steve being oblivious

Word Count: 1641

Date Posted: 10/20/2020

A/N: Hey! Sorry this is unedited, mostly because I'm writing this at 4 am. But if anyone wants to be an editor shoot me a message. This is my 2nd fic for America's ass, but I do other characters, too! I apologize for the bad pun that Mr. Stank makes, me being very wordy, and the crappy ending.

Hope you all enjoy!

You walked into Avengers tower wearing jeans and a sweater, which was much more different than the usual blouse and skirt you wore on workdays. Even though it was your day off, you received a message from your boss, Tony Stark:

Come to the tower at 7 o'clock sharp, you definitely wouldn't want to miss this. And dress casual ;)

You had shrugged off the strange invite, expecting him to show you a new gadget he and Dr. Banner had produced. But you secretly hoped to see Steve Rogers. You've had a small crush on the super soldier since you began working for Tony, and seeing him often at the tower every day only made it worse. He would give you a smile and wave whenever you passed him in the halls as you strictly kept your head down to hide your flustered expression.

As you looked around the entrance you saw the star spangled man jog towards you after hoping off the last step of the stairs. He wore a dark blue button up shirt, black pants, and that smile that made your heart swell. Before you could walk away and pretend to be there for a different reason he waved at you. Because you were raised to be a polite person you waved back, and that was your downfall. Now he knew that you saw him so you would have to talk to him.

After mumbling a string of curses to yourself, the male was now standing in before you, lightly panting, “Hey, Y/N, Stark sent me to bring you up to the living quarters for game night.”

You quirked an eyebrow, taken aback, “Game night? Why would Mr. Stark invite me?”

Steve put his hands in his pockets as a pink hue came to his cheeks, “I’m not sure, but I’m glad you’re here.” You couldn’t tell if his face was red because he ran down the stairs or if your presence had flustered him. Either way you raised a hand over your mouth to hide the dopey smile that was forming on your face.

“Thank you, Mr. Rogers, but we should probably start heading up.” You nervously chuckled. Steve regained his normal posture and stiffly nodded and started walking towards the stairs.

Right as he was about to take the first step up he felt you put a soft hand on his shoulder and froze. “Why don’t we take the elevator? Its probably quicker,” you smiled at him as you spoke and gestured towards the elevator.

“That would be good but the elevator is out of-” Steve was cut off by the sound of the nearby elevator door chiming. He tilted his head in confusion as he recalled what Tony had told him.

. . .

“Y/N is here,” Tony announced, smirking at the super soldier and patting him on the shoulder, “would you mind brining her up, old timer?” Steve held back the urge to roll his eyes and stood up. But before he could make it out of the room he heard the philanthropist call out, “Make sure you take the stairs, elevator’s out of order.”

. . .

You chuckled at the man’s expression, “When has anything in the tower not been the way Mr. Stark expected it to be?” Steve shook off the strange  and started walking with you to the elevator. Once inside, you both looked around the small space in an awkward silence.

When the elevator stopped a few stories up, one of your coworkers, Derek, walked into the space and stood between you and Steve with a suggestive smirk, “What are you doing here on your day off? Miss me too much?” You chuckled at his antics, he had always play flirted with you. The first time it happened you both laughed and he told you he did it to everyone to make his boyfriend jealous. But Steve didn’t know that.

“Of course, I just had to see you,” you teased with a wink. You saw the playfulness in Derek’s eyes as he wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you into a hug. What you couldn’t see was Steve’s deathly glare towards the other male.

Who the hell was the guy flirting on you, he thought. After the initial frustration passed, his fear set in. Why didn’t you ever look at him that way, he asked himself. Ever since the 40′s Steve was used to ladies picking every other guy over him. Even after the serum, the insecurity stayed with him and turned him into that kid from Brooklyn again.

Derek finally left the cramped space after going up a few more floors. You and Steve continued ascending the tower in a tense silence before the elevator rang and you eagerly followed Steve to the rest of the group.

Tony was the first to greet you. “I’m glad you could make it, I hope capsicle didn’t bore you on the way up,” the playboy said, making you chuckle and Steve blush. “Lucky for us it is my turn to choose the game for tonight,” he stated with a suspiciously excited smile, “come in and take a seat!”

After a few minutes of introductions and small talk, you ended up sitting next to Thor and Bucky. You noticed both of them were slightly shivering but trying to cover it up. Just as you were about to ask him to turn down the A/C, Tony clapped his hands as he addressed the room. “All right everybody, the game that we will be playing tonight is... truth or dare!” Half of the room’s inhabitants groaned while the others rolled their eyes.

Natasha leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms, “That’s juvenile, even for you.” Tony snickered and took a seat, “It was my turn to pick so you guys have to do it. Anyways, who wants to go first?”

. . .

Sam squealed as Bucky dumped a glass of ice down his shirt, "You son of a bitch!" The winter soldier snickered and ran for the door, his friend close behind. You let out a laugh as you continued to shiver under the A/C.

"I believe it is your turn, Stark," Thor exclaimed as he took another drink from his Asgardian mead.

Tony smirked as he glanced at you and faced Steve. "Alright, Rogers, truth or dare?"

Steve sighed, "Truth."

"Come on, you've been picking that all game. But now I have something you certainly don't want me to ask you." Tony gestured towards you, who was now trying to hold back a shiver.

Steve tried to get a word out but ended up dropping his head in embarrassment, "Dare, please."

Tony stood up with a broad smile and spoke almost as if he was speaking to the entire room, "Final answer?"

Steve gave a defeated nod before he spoke again, "Fantastic, I dare you to sit on Y/N's lap for the rest of the game."

The room went silent. You hadn’t been paying close attention but you knew exactly what you heard. Desperate for any kind of way to get out of this situation, you looked around the room to find everyone but Steve looking calm. The super soldier could barely keep eye contact with you when he too looked around for help as his face turned a deeper red.

Both of you ended up laying your eyes on Tony. “Get to it soldier, I mean she’s been freezing the entire game. Might as well be a human torch and heat her up,” he ordered. Steve was about to protest when the other man held up a hand, “We all agreed to the rules so no backing out.”

After a few more minutes of the two arguing about the dare, Steve gave up and walked over to you and did everything he could to not meet your eyes. “I’m really sorry, Y/N. I won’t do it if you aren’t comfortable with-” you hesitantly cut him off, “Its ok, Mr. Rogers.”

After silently debating what to do in his mind, he softly nodded and sat down. The tension was cut by Tony clapping, “Now that wasn’t so hard. Dr. Banner it is your turn next.”

The team went through a few more people before ending up talking, which you and Steve did not notice. You hated to admit it but he was very warm. The man in your lap brought your attention to him when he spoke to you in a whisper, “I’m really sorry. I know you have a boyfriend and I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”

You furrowed your eyebrows, “Boyfriend?”

“The guy from the elevator?” Your eyes went wide before you let out a quiet chuckle. “That was Derek, he is just a friend from work. Plus he is definitely not as warm as you.”

“Well that is good to know.”

“Maybe now you can take her on a date now instead of moping around,” Tony chimed in.

You both looked at the other Avengers before you spoke up, “Did you plan this?”

“Of course I did,” Natasha gave Tony a pointed look, “well I planned most of it and these guys helped, and Derek even did it for free.”

You smiled and felt your face heat up as Steve stood up and sat next to you. He sheepishly smiled before turning towards you, “Is there a chance that you are free Saturday?”

“Only if there is a chance this is you asking me out.”

“Then its a date,” he wrapped an arm around you and the evening continued with the team talking while you and Steve fell asleep on the couch.

. . .

“Tony, Steve’s going to be pissed,” Natasha whispered as Tony took a picture of you nuzzling your head in the crook of Steve’s neck while he had his arms protectively wrapped around your waist.

“Eh, he’ll get over it.”

The Aftermath

Pairing: Steve Rogers x Female!Reader

Summary: You and Steve take a day to relax.

POV: 2nd

Warnings: Mentions of anxiety & depression, a little angst, mostly fluff

Word Count: ~1k

Date Posted: 11/10/20

A/N: Hey y’all! So this is a second part to The Afterparty, you do not need to read that to understand this. I have a few drafts I’m working on so expect something within the next few days. Also, I know everyone goes through anxiety & depression differently but I am somewhat basing this off of my experience because I do not want to incorrectly portray someone else’s experience. Also, three dots after a paragraph means a time skip. I'm such a sucker for soft!steve. Hope you enjoy!

Also, if you are interested in editing and giving suggestions about my writings before I post them, please let me know! I would love to have a second opinion.

image

Ever since you had joined the Avengers Steve had always been there for you when your anxiety reared its ugly head. And that’s what made him different. He never made you feel like your feelings were stupid or invalid. Instead, he would intently listen to anything you had to tell him and try to figure out whatever would be best for the situation. From cuddling to walking to the ice cream shop, he has done anything he can to relieve you of the stress of life.

You woke up with your limbs tangled with your boyfriend’s and the smell of his cologne from the previous night. After taking a moment to enjoy the tranquil scene, you gently removed yourself from Steve and stood up, taking a moment to admire him.

You walked out of your bedroom with a soft smile plastered on your face. You wanted to do something special for him, you thought as you stepped into the kitchen. With a determined huff escaping your mouth, you rolled up your sleeves and got to work.

. . .

Steve turned over in the bed and opened an eye when he didn’t feel you next to him. He brought himself up onto his elbows and scanned the room. When he realized you weren’t in the room he stood up and put on a pair of sweatpants before calling out your name.

You jumped from your spot at the kitchen island and walked to your room, "Good morning! Is everything ok?"

A tired smile appeared on Steve's face as soon as he saw you, "I should be asking you the same thing, doll."

"I'm better," you shrugged and leaned on the doorframe, "and I made breakfast for you if you're hungry."

Steve brought you into a loose but warm hug. You inhaled his scent, wanting to imprint it into your brain forever. The moment ended after he pressed a kiss to your forehead and pulled himself away.

He walked you back to the kitchen with a loose hold on your hand. The smell of the food made him take a deep breath. You took advantage of his state of bliss to start to make him a plate of food.

"Doll, you didn't have to do this," he nearly whispered to you.

"It's fine, Steve, I wanted to do something nice for you. After this can we go out on a picnic?"

Steve nodded as he took a seat, "Of course." You set a plate of blueberry pancakes and a separate plate of sausage and scrambled eggs on the table.

The male inhaled the scent of food before taking a bite, humming in satisfaction. You took this as your cue to get yourself some food.

Seeing you sit down next to him with your food, he instinctively put an arm around your waist. You smiled as you both ate your food in content silence.

. . .

You pulled a sweatshirt over your head as your boyfriend pulled on a jacket for the cool fall day. Grabbing your hand and a picnic basket, Steve looked at you with a grin. He opened the door for you and you both walked out of your room.

The two of you left Stark Tower hand in hand. People were walking across the courtyard on business calls or trying to drink their overpriced coffee before they officially got into work.

You could almost feel the amount of stress surrounding you, but your boyfriend kept you grounded. Whenever he felt like you were getting overwhelmed he would rub his thumb over your knuckles and a small smile would almost immediately appear on your face.

The utter amount of love you both shared throughout your relationship made your stomach flutter at the thought. Both of you could not believe the luck you had with finding each other.

You both were brought away from your thoughts as you saw your favorite spot in the park; a large cottonwood tree with a gorgeous view of a pond.

The male walked you to the spot and you laid down the blanket you'd tucked under your arm. Once you sat down he carefully placed the basket of food onto the grass and returned to your side.

You had brought a book with you and Steve brought his sketchpad. While you read Steve would always draw you. The first time he told you made you a blushing mess.

"Dammit, Steve!" You cried out as you pushed your red face into your hands.

Steve panicked and threw his papers across the room, "I'm so sorry, I should have asked you but I-" The last thing he saw was his crying girlfriend lunging at him. He closed his eyes in fear, but felt your arms wrapped around his torso. The male opened his eyes to see you looking up at him, eyes brimming with tears.

"Thank you, Steve. I'm really flattered that you would draw me."

And at that moment, Steven Grant Rogers knew who the love of his life was.

You were brought out of your thoughts when you felt the super soldier's stomach rumble, "Do you want to eat now?"

"Do you?"

You frowned and brought a hand to his face, "Don't worry about me so much, love. Now, are you hungry?"

Steve nodded and you moved do you were sitting in front of him. He watched and straightened himself as you brought out a few sandwiches and 2 bottles of water.

You both lazily talked while you ate. At one point you heard Steve squeal, causing you to look up from the food. Turns out an acorn flew and hit his forehead. The super soldier's face went red. With a grin you moved closer to him and peppered his face in kisses until you both were lying down in a fit of laughter.

Once the sun touched the horizon, you packed up, more than satisfied with the events of the day. You left the park with your boyfriend's arm around your waist and a warm feeling in your chest.

The two of you arrived at Stark tower. The courtyard was much less busy than earlier. The employees were leaving the building, with relaxed shoulders and some on calls from their family wanting to know how their day was. Nobody standing near you was completely relaxed, but each had a weight taken off of them.

No one can be at peace without anxiety, you told yourself as you laid in Steve’s arms that night. Without anxiety, peace would be meaningless. No matter what you were going through, you knew he was on your side and you were on his. And that was enough to help you sleep at night.

Congratulations !!!

30 with Steve Rodgers please? ♥️♥️♥️

La Revolucion

Pairing: Pre-Infinity War!Steve Rogers x Reader

Warnings: Mild violence, brief swearing

Summary: After the Avengers split up, Steve thinks back to the first time he met the love of his life.

Word Count: ~1.5k

Date Posted: 2/7/2021

A/N: Thank you, Anon!!! This one is based off of Americano by Lady Gaga. The song is about immigration law and LGBT+ marriage in America. It took me a while to figure out how to go about writing this (apparently its best done at 1am), so I hope you enjoy! I'm lowkey proud of this one ngl.

Once again, let me know what you think about this one! More are coming out soon.

Congratulations !!!

Steve walked Bucky off the jet into Wakanda with a stern look on his face. Something seemed off about his friend, so the brunette stopped walking. "What's wrong, Buck?"

"Nothing is wrong with me, I'm just worried about you," Bucky said. He was being escorted to the place where he was to be put into a coma like state for who knows how long.

Steve furrowed his brows in confusion, "Why are you worried about me?"

"I don't want you to be alone, you need someone to keep your impulse control in check."

The blonde humorlessly chuckled, "I won't be alone."

"Oh really?"

The pair made it to the entrance of Shuri's lab and there was a tense silence. Neither men could face the other before Steve broke the silence, "I met a girl in East LA."

Bucky nudged his shoulder and smirked, "Finally! Is she pretty?"

"She's the most beautiful person I've ever seen," he smiled with a slight blush coming onto his face.

Bucky turned towards his best friend. "Thank you for assuring me that you won't be stupid alone."

"You're taking all the stupid for yourself." Steve said as he pulled him into a hug.

After saying their goodbyes, Steve walked back to the quinjet, reminiscing about meeting her.

~~~
Steve sat at a bar alone, watching the latest drug cartel leader. After the end of his team, he wanted to continue to do good.
The blonde brought his drink to his lips as the announcer stepped on the small, wooden stage. "Thank y'all for coming out tonight! Next up we have my favorite little lady. In floral shorts as sweet as May, she sang in eights and two barrio chords, I present to you... Y/n!"
Steve barely looked away from his target to look at her, but the second he realized what he saw he looked again. He honestly thought his heart stopped. His breath hitched in his throat and his palms became damp.
After a moment, he snapped out of his trance. I'm on a mission, he thought, there is no time for distractions. Steve had locked onto the sight of the cartel leader again when she started singing and he knew he was a goner.
"Mis canciones son de la revolución," she was a siren and he was the pour soul that was about to drown.
Well, he actually was choked by one of the target's bodyguards. The singing stopped as people gasped and started running to the exit. Steve was able to push the goon off of him onto the floor just as he heard the click of a revolver. "Game's up, Captain. This en-"
The sound of his attacker screaming made him turn around to see Y/n pepper spraying the group of men. She held a cloth to her mouth and tossed one to Steve, "Follow me!"
Without hesitation, she ran behind the counter with the super soldier right behind her. She pulled the latch to what appeared to be a trap door and jumped down into the darkness. Steve froze for a moment. Was this a trap?
"I suggest you come down here, sir. Unless you fancy being mauled by those angry old guys," Y/n smirked and moved aside from the opening so he could jump down. Steve hopped down and was also consumed in the darkness.
Before he had a chance to speak to the mysterious singer, his hand was being dragged away from the entrance. The next few minutes were silent besides the sound of two pairs of shoes hitting the pavement.
Finally, Y/n stopped. Steve was about to speak before he heard something unlock and his vision was flooded with light. His eyes adjusted after a moment and he looked around to see a small town. He took a deep breath and turned to Y/n, who was now leaning against a rock trying to catch her breath, "Why are you helping me? I'm sorry but this doesn't make sense, ma'am."
The woman chuckled, "Not many things do, Captain Rogers. Yet here we are." He frowned and was about to walk away before she spoke again. "I have cried for, I will die for how I care."
Steve paused and stood in front of her, intrigued. "These people have been tormented by that pig and I'm sick of it. I'd do anything to protect my home," she all but whispered.
The blonde only nodded. He had researched the town before coming here.; it was a town filled with criminals and the people they had control over, whether it was individuals or entire families.
Steve hummed, "They have you're family?"
She smiled, looking down at the ground. "No, I got them out 2 years ago. And I don't plan on stopping until they're all away from the west coast."
Y/n looked up after a minute to see the space in front of her empty. Captain America was no where to be seen.
~~~

A few days later there was a knock against Y/n's dressing room door. She set down her mascara and held her pepper spray in a steel grip, "Who is it?"

When no one answered, she let out a shaky sigh. Quiet footsteps could be heard outside the door and a deep voice saying, "I'll take care of her, get the rest." She froze and looked at the door in pure fear.

"This is it," she murmured as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. Just as the lock turned she fumbled for one of her shoes and threw it as hard as she could at the blonde man in a dark blue super suit.

Luckily, Steve had his shield in front of him. Y/n gasped and put her hands over her mouth. The poor man peeking his eyes out from behind his shield with a worried gaze. The female ran an anxious hand through her hair and tried not to meet his scared gaze. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry, Steve! I didn't know it was you and I got scared and-"

Steve gestured for her to be quiet and she abruptly stopped. After a moment of just staring at each other, him thanking god you didn't pepper spray him and her praying that he didn't think she was a lunatic, he offered his hand.

Before Y/n could take hold of his hand, yelling could be heard upstairs. The super soldier swiftly scooped her into his arms and bolted out of the room.

She wrapped her arms around his neck as they ran through the building. Once the exit was in sight it seemed like everything was going to be okay. That was until two goons ripped the door from its hinged and rushed towards Y/n and Steve.

Steve huffed and quickly turned a corner, causing the female to yelp and hold him tighter. Suddenly, the short pants stopped from the blonde, "Hold on tight, ma'am."

Before she could say a word Steve jumped out the window. Y/n was now curled in a ball and screaming at the top of her lungs as Steve flipped them onto his back.

The air from the two pairs of lungs were knocked out when they hit the ground. While Y/n clenched her eyes shut, Steve saw the goons chasing them being kicked out of the window by his favorite red-headed assassin.

"You and your girl ok, Rogers?" Natasha said as she coyly waved at the two of them. Steve could only chuckle and look up at the stars.

After a moment of adrenaline filled tranquility, Y/n spoke up. "I guess we're even now, Captain Rogers."

Steve raised an eyebrow and looked down at the woman in his arms. She smiled at him and rested her chin on his chest, "I saved you, you saved me."

"Technically we aren't even," he said and sat up as he helped her do the same, "my team got everyone out of the town, you were the last to pick up."

Y/n was silent for a moment, her mouth hanging open in shock. Steve gave her a moment to control her thoughts and stared deep into her eyes when she spoke again, "Why would you help us? You barely know these people, let alone me."

Steve looked away, happy that it was dark so she couldn't see his face turning a light shad of pink, "You're a good person, and these people didn't deserve what they were given."

This time Y/n stared into his alluring eyes, sensing he had more to say. "Plus I wanted to see if you would go dancing with me one night."

Steve wanted to burry his face in his hands but they were still glued to her waist. She smiled at him and kissed his cheek, making Steve a flustered mess. "Well it wasn't just that-I mean you also seem to have a set of skills that could be useful on the team-"

Y/n chuckled and stood up, "Who would have thought that a kiss on the face would fluster the greatest Avenger." Steve huffed and stood up. The female still had a smile plastered on her face, "So, are you asking me on a date or asking me to join your team?"

"Both," he said, "there's a lot of bad in this world and with the right training you could help minimize it." Steve offered his hand to her and she glanced at it, returning to his intense gaze. "What do you say, Y/n?"

She smirked and grabbed his hand, "Let's start a revolution."

The last words you spoke to him are echoing in Steve’s ears as he considers his next.

Take care of my best friend.

Of course, Sam is one of his best friends, too. After coming out of the ice into a new millennium, Steve was fairly certain he would never relate to anyone or anything ever again. Then he met Sam.

Right from the start, there was this unspoken understanding. Two separate lives lived decades apart, but so very familiar. From a common bond, a friendship grew - a friendship that Steve knew he didn’t deserve.

Sam was willing to risk it all for me and this is where it brought him.

Rules was one of my first things and read and still a huge favorite to read. I’ll never forget my little freakout when you commented on She’s So High. You deserve all the followers and million’s more.

My prompt was “First of all, you can never go too far! Second of all, if I’m going to be caught, it’s not gonna be by a guy like that!” from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I tried to sneak a couple other movie references in there too. ;) Looking up 40’s nsfw slang at work was super fun. Also, I’m pretty sure Coney Island never had love boats, but it sounded the most fun for plot. It’s an 80’s challenge…so naturally I wrote 40’s Stucky.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your little bakery was on the outskirts of town, almost hidden from the world. You wanted it to be a getaway from the bustling city, you wanted anyone who came to be enveloped in quiet and the delicious smell of your pastries.
Or at least, you did now since every other place in the city was way too expensive.
At first, when you opened it, it didn’t attract a lot of people. You weren’t making the money you thought you would be by now, and it cost you many sleepless nights. But then, the Avengers came to your rescue.
CONT.
“Steve! I’m sorry!” You cry, writhing on the bed.
“Clearly not sorry enough, baby,” he grunts, pulling out before you can come. You clench around nothing, and another sob escapes your lips.
You didn’t think Steve would take his punishment this far, edging you instead of spanking you. Yes, it was probably your fault that you used his card and spent too much money, money that you usually don’t like spending. Half of it you spent on donating food and clothes to charity. And, well, the other half you justified in spending it for him, since he had a habit of ripping your clothes off.
Which was fine. It was probably the intention behind it that’s getting you into so much trouble right now. You pissed that Steve—Daddy—has been busy for the past few days, neglecting you. Sure, he left you kisses, but he left for the company quickly after that, leaving you wanting. Wanting him.
Something that he’s been making amends for for hours. When his tongue licks your slit, and he sucks harshly on your clit, you release another desperate whine.
“Daddy! Please!”
“Finally the proper name. My dumb baby forgot what to call me, didn’t she? Makes sense, since she thought that Daddy didn’t care about her anymore. Since Daddy didn’t give her the attention she wanted—that’s why you acted out, isn’t it?”
You can’t answer. Can’t think. You can’t grab at him either: he tied your hands and ankles to the edge of the bed. Instead, you’re resorted to babbles.
He slips his cock in again, and you cry at the sensation when he starts to thrust. A hand comes to wipe your tears, and Steve leaves kisses on your neck and along your jawline.
“It’s too much! Please!”
“Please what? Please let me come? Please forgive me?”
“I’m sorry! Sorry!” You choke on the words, and with a growl, Steve slaps your ass.
“Never again, you understand me baby? You’re Daddy’s, always.”
Once the words leave his mouth, you can’t control it: the orgasm strikes you, toes curling and back arching. You nearly black out, the few seconds as you come becoming hazy. Steve comes inside of you, and you milk him as he kisses you, still thrusting, slow and steady.
“Ready for another round, baby?”
pairing—steve rogers x barista!reader
summary—a cute guy forget's his sketchbook and it's up to the equally cute barista to make sure it's returned safely into his arms
warnings—lots of angst from Steve's pov, crushes at first sight, idiots who like each other, this doesn't really need a warning, meet-cute?? , set months before the events of the battle in New York
a/n—they definitely didn't show enough of what Steve might have felt waking up 70 years into the present
The man woke up from a war and almost immediately was thrown into another
THE MAN NEEDS THERAPY
the endgame ending only happened cuz my man still had unpacked trauma from everything
❥ owner of a lonely heart
image
he felt many emotions as he woke up 70 years into the present
he felt so afraid not knowing a single thing as he opened his eyes
Is he dead?
If he's alive, where's Peggy?
Why did the radio say the game of '41? it's supposed to be 1945
he felt more scared as he was welcomed by a stranger
After running away from the fake room made to look like a hospital room he was in, he finds himself in a stranger – more modern version of New York that he could hardly recognise
Everyday since waking up, he'd just feel lost most of the time — a man lost in time.
There were more buildings and billboards that were lit up.
Radio Free America! [ 1/8 ]
He thought he died, everybody did.
Maybe he should have died , because he never asked to be alive after 70 years as he knew sacrificing his life was worth it.
it’s still weird for him to see everything has passed,his friends were gone and Peggy already lived her life without him.
it felt strange exploring New York, there were more buildings, more variety of foods.
It's new territory and he felt isolated, like a newborn exploring a new world without training wheels.
He wasn't lost too much, he's a 27 year old and some things came easy to understand.
He didn’t know what purpose he had left.They won the war and he had saved the city from being hit by the Valkyrie.
Everything was high tech compared to his time, electronics were a bit confusing to understand but he did find it fascinating that everything could be easily stored and done using a small square of a phone that you could bring easily anywhere .
Radio Free America! [ 1/8 ]
… but what’s left for him when he has lost everything?
Bucky fell of the train,the Howling commandos were gone and it’s too late for him and Peggy.
He basically had nothing left to live for yet he's given a second chance that he didn't know what to do with.
He felt distraught that day when he was given their files, every single one of the Howling Commandos were marked deceased except Peggy’s.
He didn’t have the courage to call Peggy, he didn’t even know what he’d say in the first place.
' Hi, I'm not dead and I'm stuck in my 27 year old body????? I was stuck in the ice like a freaking popsicle Peggy! I'm sorry we never got our dance ... '
He’s all alone and absolutely out of place in the world he’s now forced to live in.
He felt like God was playing a cruel joke on him.
He would go out strolling and see everything has changed.
He just wanted to go back as that skinny guy from Brooklyn with his best pal.
Everyday he'd be at the gym assaulting gym bags as a way to let out his frustrations. He would work out until he feels breathless. On sunny days he'd go out walking, he'd eye the buildings in awe as they were more developed.
Today he sat outside a coffee shop where he only bought a single cup of coffee while he started drawing the building up front.
He would ride his motorcycle and feel the cold air, he'd close his eyes for a few seconds still imagining that he's back in the forties.
Radio Free America! [ 1/8 ]
" good coffee? " you asked as you saw the cute guy that ordered a while ago that your co-worker assisted
" yeah, nice coffee " said Steve with a small smile
" good cause I made it " you humored
' seriously Rogers? niCe cOfFeE , he still didn't know how to talk to pretty girls '
If Bucky were here right now, he either would've stolen the girl or nagged him about how he should ask for her number, Steve thought not noticing you placing the cake on his table.
“ i didn't order any sweets, maam “ said Steve eyeing the small cake you gave him
It was a simple oreo cake with white frosting everywhere.
He saw how beautiful you were and is awestruck.
He couldn't help but feel he saw you before, maybe as he passed this very same shop.
“ i know you didnt but you seemed sad, no offense “ you said smiling as the man Infront of you smiled back
“ thanks, I guess i am kinda famished “ Steve said picking up the small fork to take a bite
He wouldn't say no to a cake given by a pretty dame
He wasn't that stupid
“ So waiting on the big guy? “
“ maam? “ he questions
“ iron man, lot of people eat here just to see him fly by “ you said pointing at the building he was drawing before you talked to him
“ maybe another time " said steve as he took the cake quickly in one bite that made you giggle seeing the frosting that was left in his lips
He felt hypnotized by your small laugh and the way you crunched your nose as you laughed.
He turned red thinking he made a fool of himself and quickly wiped of the extra frosting around his mouth.
“ table’s yours as long as you like,nobody’s waiting on it and plus we got free wireless “ you said as you started walking away wiping your hands on your apron
“ radio? “ the cute guy asked that just made you smile more thinking he was joking
“ ask for her number, you moron “ an old guy next to Steve asked as he shook his head
He walked away forgetting the sketchpad he brought, occupied with the thoughts of you and your laugh.
You returned outside to clean some tables and give out other people's orders.
He watched the trains go by, like the way years had gone in the blink of an eye.
Radio Free America! [ 1/8 ]
You went to the cute guy's table and saw his forgotten notebook.
You tucked it under your arm as your hands held the tray filled with empty plates and cups with the clattering of some utensils as you moved.
You set down the sketchbook just to peek in case the guy that left wrote his name.
You opened it cautiously to the first page knowing artists like to be careful with their sketchbooks.
You were an art major yourself but in digital arts, you wanted to pursue a career in animation.
You liked drawing a lot too as a teenager, and painting but animation fascinated you.
The moving pictures that could tell any story you want it to, the magic of voice acting and sound effects making a movie without actually showing real people amazed you.
You loved disney films and ghibli animation, you loved the way even drawings can showcase complicated emotions.
S. Rogers
His first initial and surname were written on the small corner of the first page. A thing most people do even if they didn't draw, they'd put their initials or signature.
You did it too,with all your notebooks, your umbrella and even your books.
You couldn't help but flip the next pages getting mesmerized by the drawings the cute guy had.
You giggled seeing the monkey in an army like attire holding a shield, their were drawings of people – most of them looked as if they were from the military. They had helmets on or had the more professional uniforms with buttons and medals.
The more drawings you saw the more it felt wrong peeking at his masterpieces, you'd hate it too but you made the excuse in your head that you were just trying to find more information on the cute guy that left rather quickly that afternoon.
You sensed the sadness, emptiness of the drawings he had, maybe he missed these people, you thought while closing the notebook not wanting to pry into his privacy any longer.
You smiled as you walked home remembering the details of the cute guy's looks. He seemed nice and dorky, not like the guys that would just hit on you and expect you to say yes after some sweet talking.
You kept it safe in one of the drawers under the cashier hoping the cute blonde will show up again.
Radio Free America! [ 1/8 ]
His ocean blue eyes made you blush, they felt so intimidating in a way that made you feel like your old 16 year old self.
It was infatuation at first sight, his outfit making him look old fashioned but still dashing.
You wanted to be the one to always put a smile on his face if it looked as pretty as the one he gave you just hours ago.
You wanted to pass your finger through his blonde locks that you'd bet were as soft as clouds.
You couldn't miss his broad shoulders and thick figure.
You found yourself crushing on the mysterious cute guy that left his sketchbook.
You felt giddy as you slept thinking of the same pair of ocean blue eyes.
Steve's in bed wide eyed without a single ounce of sleepiness in his mind, maybe he just didn't want to sleep as he kept changing his positions on the bed that felt too soft. It felt like he’d sink any second, like laying on a bed made of marshmallows.
He secretly didn't want to sleep because if he did, he'd dream of all the things he missed.
He'd dream about the life he could have had before the serum, the war, and the sleeping for decades.
Most nights he'd have nightmares, specifically about Bucky, his best pal falling off the train a million times and every single time he's reminded how he couldn't save him.
Bucky would never want him to blame himself of course, but his thoughts can't help but drift to how he was finally a hero but he couldn't even save his best friend.
He'd also have the usual dream about the bar, surrounded by the Howling Commandos as he and Peggy finally have their dance.
He'd cling to the memories he had like it was yesterday because it was—for him all of it just happened recently, but decades had passed and he can never go back.
He had enough and decided to just sleep on the sofa as he watched the rain drizzle against his window on this lonely Sunday night.
His thoughts drifting back to you, he was consumed by the memories of that afternoon that you gave him free dessert and how he feels like he knew you.
Then it clicked like a light bulb above his head dinged, he did know you! he met you, a week before meeting you at that small coffee shop.
Just like the night he met you, it was raining. heavily
flashback in Steve’s POV
He met you after leaving the bus stop and that was the story of how a bright yellow umbrella currently rested at the side of his front door.
An Angel At The Bus Stop [ 2/8 ]
The rain poured violently as Steve walked away from the bus stop after being dropped off, he waited a couple minutes hoping the weather would get better but alas it unfortunately didn't.
As he realized he'd just have to walk home completely soaked, he groaned as he decided to use his brown leather jacket as a makeshift umbrella. How badly he wished he brought one as the rain continuously poured down on him. He was used to it though, he was a soldier and the war didn't pick a weather.
He didn't walk too fast, not taking the chances with the slippery road. He didn't worry much about getting sick because the serum had strengthened his immune system.
His day was honestly going badly. He still hasn't grasped the concept of electronics yet and he had just received the files about Peggy , the Howling Commandos.Oh! and his microwave broke–just great. He had to go out to eat which led him walking home soaked from head to toe.
… and then he met you, probably the only good thing about his day
As he walked the side of the empty sidewalk lit by the lamp posts that stood a few feet away from each other, there you were, your figure blurred due to the rain drops that went in his eyes.
He blinked the rain drops away to see you better, you were wearing a simple white dress that glowed against the dark street and as he observed you more he noticed the sunflowers around your dress. Your white dress and bright smile could've fooled Steve that you were an angel.
What made you stand out though?
the obvious big bright yellow umbrella that is.
Weirdly the scene that played Infront of Steve seemed magical, majestic even. You probably didn't notice him as you walked right past him. The five seconds of briefly seeing you, he already wanted to see you again.
He saw your bright smile as your hair was slightly damp. You were smiling as you walked barefoot, probably towards the bus station he just came from. You were holding your heels in one hand as the other tightly clutched the umbrella.
Steve stood still for a couple seconds mesmerized by you. You were like the sun in the middle of all the rain, literally. You looked like the sun in Steve's eyes that night. He was snapped out of his thoughts as he hit the lamp post a bit hard, he clutched his nose groaning in pain, from the hard pole and his stupidity.
He suddenly felt the rain stop and as he glanced up, a yellow umbrella came to sight. He looked to his side, and there you were the girl that caught his eyes looking at him worried. He snapped out of his thoughts when he saw you were waving your hand in front of him.
Great, you just saw the mighty Captain America be the biggest idiot in the rain.
“ DUDE YOU OKAY? didn't catch a concussion did you!!???! DO I CALL 911!? “ you exclaimed in panic as he remained silent, watching your movement as you quickly tried to grab something from your pocket
“ hey! im okay—im fine, thanks “ he said forcing a smile with a slightly reddish nose and a flushed face hoping to keep you calm
“ HEY! you can have my umbrella, I’m waiting at the bus stop and you seem like you need it “ you declared probably pitying him as you pat his shoulder
He was mentally facepalming himself for looking like a complete idiot in front of the beautiful dame in front of him.
“ you don't have to,truly im fine, miss “
“ it's fine you can have it and i hope your nose is fine “
before he could refuse you already ran away towards the direction of the soon arriving bus, using your hand to shield yourself. You momentarily seek protection from the rain at the bus stop he previously was at.
“ THANK YOU! “ Steve yelled from a distance and saw you turn around to smile at him with a small wave of a hand before you boarded the empty bus and left. He was gonna run after you and maybe strike a conversation, seeing as you stayed at the bus stop temporarily but quickly backing out because of fear that you'd think he was a creep.
He smiles at the memory of you and the umbrella you gave him. Maybe he had to thank his stupidity sometimes. If it weren't for the physical evidence of your umbrella in his apartment, he'd think you weren't real. You felt like a fragment of imagination , maybe caused by hitting his head on the lamp post that night.
end of flashback
An Angel At The Bus Stop [ 2/8 ]
He didn't know what to think of the fact he met you again. He never thought out of all the people who worked in the shop he went for coffee, it would be you who’d make his coffee. He thought maybe it was fate, a brief chance of luck.
All he could do was smile as he thought of how he'd act the third time he’ll meet you, maybe with less foolishness.
‘ they did say third times the charm ‘
‘ did she remember me? ‘
‘ Is that why she gave me cake? ‘
' the cake was good '
‘ DOES SHE THINK I'M AN IDIOT? ‘
' What coffee do I order next? '
Different thoughts and questions came to mind as he drifted to sleep with a smile, for the first time since he woke up—the sleep felt calm. It didn't have the feeling of fear that he wouldn't wake up again and it wasn't another nightmare about the past.
He dreamt of something funny this time, the monkey he once drew but instead of his uniform and shield, the monkey held a yellow umbrella and a banana as it unicycled over a sunny field.
Here you are now, working another day at the coffee shop on a boring Monday night. You were currently outside as you were painting the sign of the coffee express halfway. You muttered curse after curse angrily as you mentally pictured your boss for giving you this annoying task, you were an art major but you weren't a freaking carpenter.
He slept peacefully for the first time and maybe it was because of you.
An Angel At The Bus Stop [ 2/8 ]
There's also the current painting you needed to finish for another class you were taking which you hadn't done as you had a knack for procrastinating to the last second.
Though you were thankful since your boss allowed you to use the extra paint for your project, you were just annoyed at painting the large sign at two am.
You attempted to reach for the higher parts of the sign board, that you momentarily forgot you were standing on a ten feet tall ladder. Your balance slipped as your shoes were no longer feeling the unstable ladder but quickly about to plummet on your death.
.
.
.
.
.
.
You never hit the ground though, you kept your eyes close not realizing a pair of thick arms cradled your form.
Were you dead? Was death like this? you didn't feel the fall as you quickly died? that's it? you died falling while painting a stupid sign?
You slowly adjust your vision to the bright light of the lamp post thinking it's the lights of heaven, not quickly seeing a pair of blue eyes filled with worry looking at you, you couldn't hear what he was saying distracted by the fact the guy you had a little crush on is in front of you.
Why the fuck would he be the one to greet you in the gates of heaven? Were you in a coma and are currently imagining him?
“ you're hot “ you voiced out without thinking instead of asking if you were still alive.
“ what? “ Steve asked confusedly still gravely worried
“ Am I dead? “ you finally asked, just as you saw yourself through the reflection of the shop, you were in the arms of the cute guy as he stood there, easily holding you like a sack of potatoes.
“ you okay? “
“ yeah , I think my life just flashed before my eyes … “ you said monotonously still a bit out of it as you felt yourself slowly get steadied on the ground with your hands in instinct using his shoulders as support
“ nice muscles … “ you weren't even high but close death might have just given you no shame as you compliment Steve for the second time without a single thought in mind
“ thank you? … Are you okay? seriously? Can I call someone? hey, look at me “ Steve ignoring the compliment and staring worryingly as he saw you staring at the floor, he used his one hand to make you glance up at him, hoping you didn't have a concussion as remembered you not hitting the ground.
The action made you melt, feeling his warm big hand on your cheek and staring at his piercing blue eyes obviously worried about you, you blushed as you made him drop his hand or else you would have straight up kissed him there and there.
You fanned yourself quickly as you planned out what you were about to say without embarrassing yourself as you tried to control your blushing.
“ thank you … uhh what’s your name? i feel like I should know the guy who saved my life just now “
“ Steve uhh Rogers “ he stated hesitantly, afraid you'd recognize his name from a museum.
“ Steve—oh my god! “ you shrieked with excitement
Hearing you say his name for the first time also made Steve want to make you say it a hundred times more.
' there it is, you knew him ' he voice in his head readying himself for the
' your the Captain America! '
“ —you just saved my life, oh my god! Thank you!! Do you want cake? because we have lots of cake! “ he breathe a laugh at your nervous demeanor , thankful that you didn't know who he actually was
He chuckled at your offering of cake for saving your life, he found everything you did fascinating and just absolutely adorable
“ Sure , maybe just like the free sample you gave me last time? “
“ The cookies n’ cream special? of course, anything you like actually “ you remarked as you opened the glass door for him to enter
“ Perfect timing, if you weren't there I'd probably be dead or with a broken spine, wait–what are you doing out here?It's like 2 am? doubt you were jogging based on your attire “ you said teasing as you looked at his outfit which is a simple black leather jacket and black pants with evident white paint along with his polished black shoes
“ oh my god, sorry for the paint Steve… god I'm such a clutz “  you said placing the whole plate of chilled cake on the table as Steve lifted his foot seeing there are paint stains on him only as far as his knee
“ don't worry about that, I can replace these—can't replace a life uhh your name? “ he chuckled nervously as he didn't know your name
“ Sunny “ you replied
“ even your name is pretty, Sunny “ uttered Steve rather quickly as the thought came to him, the comment making you both blush
“ And I was here on a walk? “ Steve stated with uncertainty since he only went here to see you, maybe order coffee on a small chance that he'd be able to talk to you
“ oh thought you were here for this “ you said as you reached for the sketchbook that became a bit dusty under the counter, you raised the book in hand waving it slightly
You both sat conversing at one of the tables as you ate both a piece of the cake. The conversation going from his sketches to your empty canvas he spotted. You guys talked for an hour about art, him saving your life to small things like favorite color, food and to why Steve seemed old fashioned in which you guessed was that he's mormon. Steve agreed even if he didn't exactly know what that meant, better than you finding out he was basically a 97 year old breathing fossil.
“ oh! yeah, definitely passed by here to get that thing back “ Steve laughed, ditching the lame excuse he previously exclaimed.
An Angel At The Bus Stop [ 2/8 ]
Then it started raining, drizzle hitting the window panels of the shop added by a surge of lighting startling both of you. Steve got a feeling of deja vu except both of you fortunately aren't soaked from head to toe.
“ ugh , I don't have a ride home or an umbrella, I miss my umbrella “ you said remembering that you gave away your umbrella to some stranger a week ago.
The umbrella does not really hold an important meaning but you did have it for three years.
You had forgotten the memory of the guy you gave your umbrella to though, it wasn't like you were the kindest person on earth—you just saw a guy crash his face into a lamppost and felt bad, felt like the least you could do was give your umbrella to the poor idiot.
Though your statement made Steve choke on his second slice of cake
“ So what happened to your umbrella? “ Steve asked nervously, realizing you didn't recognize it was him you gave your umbrella to.
“ gave it to some idiot who hit his face on the street pole “ you said casually with a chuckle as you took another bite of the cake slice you had staring at the window being rained at
“ I–i was the guy you gave the yellow umbrella to “ he proclaimed carefully as he saw you quickly turn your head towards him
“ I never mentioned it was yellow … you were that idiot!? “ you said with an amused laugh as you saw Steve laugh as well with slightly reddened cheeks
“ harsh but yes , i'm the idiot “ said Steve embarrassingly as he covered his face
“ for what it counts you're a very cute idiot “ you said making Steves face blush more
“ So just to be sure you're not a stalker right … ? “ you said casually as if that would save you if Steve is actually a stalker but you knew he was too nice to be one
“ no-no of course note, that would never be my intention, i would n-never invade your privacy “ Steve stammered as he stood up from his seat
You bursted out laughing seeing his panicked state
‘ he looks too cute, definitely not a stalker–well if he is ,i am not complaining ‘ you thought
“ I'm only teasing, don't worry Steve " you said making him take a deep breath while sitting back down
“ Wanna recreate the first time we met? “ you teased as you gazed outside that had rain still continuously pouring after an hour and a half
“ I'm just gonna wrap up the cake so you can take it home “
The two's conversation continued , well more of just you teasing Steve about the rain incident. You enjoyed making Steve blush, the cutest parts were when his ears would turn red.
An Angel At The Bus Stop [ 2/8 ]
“ you don't have to give me the whole cake Sunny, I already had two slices “ said Steve sheepishly seeing you clean up and pack up the cake in a box
“ oh , don't worry about that , you my dashing hero deserve more than one box of cake, i'd give you this coffee shop if i could for saving my life “ you stated as a fact, you were still a bit in shock that you could have died moments ago but Steve definitely made you feel better, having him as company.
The rain stopped a couple minutes later though, fortunately you and Steve wouldnt have to be soaked from head to toe again.
" just wait here, I need to get my bag from the storage room " you announced smiling already walking inside the average sized room that was beside the cashier
As you were packing up your belongings, Steve's having an internal turmoil about how it would be appropriate to ask for your number but it also could potentially end up as him screwing everything up
He heard it was more normal now to ask for a lady’s number but he didn't even know if he's your friend.
" fuck this " he said as he stood outside the door hearing faint sounds of you packing your things, a surge of confidense hitting him as he felt determined to get your number.
Even if he didn't have a smartphone, he'd just use a normal telephone that he could ask from Fury.
As you open the door going inwards , you come very close face to face with Steve. The close proximity makes you both freeze and slightly redden. He lets out a small squeak of Hi while shyly rubbing his neck as he asks “ I know this is pretty forward but could I get your number? “ , he anxiously waits for your answer while fear grows inside him as the silence continues.
He finally exhales the air he didn’t know he's been keeping in as you cheerfully replied
“ sure! “ with a wide grin you take a paper to write your number in
Steve waits outside as you arrange some things in the shop before actually closing.
Steve smiles brightly as you gave him the paper that had your phone number, carefully tucking it in his pocket for safe keeping.
An Angel At The Bus Stop [ 2/8 ]
He couldn't contain his excitement, whispering shout a ‘yes’ as he fist bumps the air having successfully got your number.
" bucky would be proud, rogers " he said patting his own shoulder with a ridiculous smile
" You got the girl’s number and a cake " he said smugly as he looked at you as you unplugged some sockets and glanced at the cake in hand inside a box wrapped with a fancy gold ribbon.
“ ready to go madam? “
“ yes , superman “
“ like the guy with laser eyes? … and big muscles “ teased Steve remembering your comment making you blush as you punch his bicep
“ you’re annoying “ you grumble while walking away fast but a smile couldn't help but escape your lips
“ hey! wait for me “ shouted Steve from a distance
“ eat my dust old man “ you joked as you ran a bit while Steve groans not being able to run as he's carrying a cake
The two continued chasing each other playfully through the empty wet streets, splashing some puddles along the way. Steve being the gentleman he is, walked you to your house and refused to walk away even if his apartment was in another direction. He didn't want to leave you until he had seen you walk inside your house with his own eyes ensuring your safety. The night ended with you kissing Steves cheek for walking you home
“ night, my hero ~~ “ you said as Steve started walking away but still looking at you
“ goodnight sunshine ~~ “ he voiced from a distance making you giggle as you walked inside your house ending the night
Steve turned away smiling in pure bliss, walking the empty street as the sunrise started to show.
Eating cake for breakfast, a delicacy Steve could never imagine he would be able to experience due to growing up in poverty. The experience felt extra special knowing the cake was given by you.
Steve's in a good mood, he hummed the tune of the song that was playing by the radio he bought as he attacked his second slice of cake. He didn't worry about the sugar since the serum improved his metabolism. He could actually eat the whole cake if he could and he could still have the energy to go to the gym afterwards.
He stopped on his third slice, saving the rest for all throughout the week as five more were left in the box.
It's now been a month and a half since Steve met you, more than a month since you became the first genuine friend he had in a long time.
He felt a little bit of guilt as the fact that he's Captain America was still hidden from you but he couldn't help but want to cherish the time that you still know him just as Steve Rogers, a guy from Brooklyn who's a little old fashioned.
Steve doesn't doubt your kindness, No, that's not it. Anxiety, fear and disappointment were just clouding his judgment, god knows you wouldn't put it against him to hide that he was a war hero in the forties, or that he's technically more than 9 decades old or that he was frozen in the ice for 70 years, he's just too afraid that your thoughts about him would change. He wasn't too sure that you wouldn't find someone like him a freak. He's too afraid to lose you too soon.
You were his first genuine friend and he sees that as a rare luxury, a genuine friend that didn't want him for the shield or that didn't want him for the serum. To you he wasn’t a super soldier or an asset for missions, to you his a friend.
He starts to reminisce about the friendship that grew between the two of you in the course of six weeks.
You're the only source of peace he has right now, his sanctuary, his solace and he hoped to keep it that way.
He knew you'd learn about the truth sooner or later but he wanted to keep you for himself first, to keep you from knowing who Captain America is, to know the life he had that was filled with dread and hopelessness amidst the war even if they did win. He didn't want you to see the loneliness that filled his being, the emptiness he felt, the way he felt like a shell of the real Steve Rogers. Steve didn't want you to know how truly lonely he is
… well he isn't too lonely, now that he has you.
The six weeks of spending time with you have been the happiest days Steve experienced in a very long, long time.
companion in morning shifts
Steve became a regular after the night he caught you in his arms, maybe also because he now craved the cake you gave every now and then. He developed a sweet tooth for 21st century desserts.
Just like an early bird, Steve is now always the first customer at The Coffee Express. He enjoyed the coffee and he also enjoyed your company. He finds the excuse of not finding a more delicious coffee served at your shop, compared to anywhere else but of course it's always because of you. The morning felt much merrier if he started it with you, having breakfast and coffee with you as you start to fix the shop for the morning shift made him feel warm inside. Half of his day was mostly spent with you, the other half mostly being at the gym or visiting the Smithsonian museum, though it's not like he goes there everyday … only on Sundays because that's your day off.
" So what's your job? you're here Monday to Saturday, every morning and sometimes even at night, can't help but think you're giving me too much of your time Stevie " you chuckle as you refill his coffee, leaning against the marble table top beside the register.
Stevie, the nickname never missed to give him butterflies that he passed off as him just not being used to be called sweetly by a beautiful girl as yourself.
Steve sat awkwardly, sitting on a chair near your cashier as the morning went slow. The shop only had 8 customers by 7 am. He didn't know how to answer your question, technically he's a retired veteran, in short he's unemployed.
" I was a soldier " was all Steve could answer, a pang of sadness hitting him as he remembered his comrades, as he remembered Bucky.
" Oh? military guy, nice "
"—you seem young but I'm guessing you're done with your tour? or you're on a little break? " you asked knowing a little bit of knowledge about military as your father and grandfather used to be both in the army
" honorable discharge " replied Steve not wanting to dwell into the subject matter more
" good, I didn't want to have to worry about you if you were out there, I don't want you losing a limb "
" I'm a tough guy, don't ever have to worry about me doll " Steve smugly says, playfully flexing his muscles and the nickname just naturally rolling off his tongue
" God, you really are old fashioned, you even talk like my grandfather, doll? really? but i kinda like it "
you laughed, snorting at the end while covering half your face hoping to not look undesirable Infront of the blonde soldier.
Opposite to what you have thought, your laugh was now Steve's favorite sound, even his old favorite forties song couldn't compare. Everything you did seemed magical and exceptional to Steve's eyes, even simple as a laugh.
Steve felt relieved that you didn't find the nickname offensive, he knew the time was different and that the things he knew changed.
He also felt awkward knowing he was as old as your grandfather, granted that he was frozen and that he still felt twenty seven mentally, he couldn't help but seem old because he really is from the forties.
" … you know my grandfather was a soldier too "
" really? so he fought in world war 2? "
" yeah was part of … what was it? 109? 107th! yeah that's it he was in the 107th! " you answered as you remembered your father telling you stories of how his father fought in the war.
Steve's smile immediately dropped upon recognizing the unit of the men he saved, he was still grieving Bucky, it may have been seven decades to everyone since Sergeant James Barnes lost his life but for Steve it was still fresh. The large gaping wound left by the death of his best friend, best pal, his buddy is still bleeding. He's still grieving the loss of his fellow soldier.
" hey you okay? Did I say something?? " you asked, your voice laced with worry as you see Steve's frozen form, eyes on the table top with evident sadness.
" yeah … my grandfather was there too " Steve lied, not even remembering the face of his grandfather, god he could hardly even remember his own dad's face.
" Oh, I heard all of them got captured once by the Nazis and this guy with a shield saved them, Captain America was it? cool outfit but like has this ridiculous helmet on " you snort only remembering the image of a guy in stripes and stars wielding a shield half his size.
Steve didn't know whether or not this was you hinting that you knew him, because if you knew Captain America, surely you would've known the name Steve Rogers.
" it wasn't that ridiculous … " Steve muttered, feeling a bit offended as you insulted his helmet, he subtly pouted.
" oh come on, have you seen it? the shield is cool and all but the helmet just looks … disastrous " you said with a shudder as you remember the little white wings on the side of the blue helmet and the capital A on the front, you briefly remember Captain America, the hero who won the war and died.
You mostly remember him for saving your grandfather, technically being the reason you exist at all, you don't remember studying him in highschool having been a bit of a rebellious teen who didn't like history.
you're his food trip buddy
Boiled potatoes are not a favorite of Steve, at all and he's very much glad that the modern times have better food to offer.
" you haven't had a taco? like your whole life " you asked in disbelief as the two of you walked the streets. As you spot a Mexican food stand, you immediately grab Steve's hands, feeling the large warm hand wrap with yours making you slightly blush. The redness of your face is masked by the darkness of the night.
" mormon … "
" right … "
You happily watch Steve take his first bite, smiling proudly seeing his wide eyes as he takes three more bites immediately finishing the taco. Steve's eyes lit up with sparks as he bit into the delicious delicacy. The flavors burst in his mouth, the craving for more food consumed his thoughts.
" Sunny, another! " said Steve enthusiastically, slightly jumping like a child at a fair.
" You're lucky I like you Stevie " that was the first time you called him Stevie, it's only been a week since you've befriended the cute guy and even if you had found some things about him odd, you never pointed them out.
You were the one who introduced one of the number one fast food chains to Steve, that which would be McDonalds. Finding it weird that Steve never had McDonalds, you didn't say a thing thinking it was just how mormons were raised.
You didn't have a clue about mormons other than they technically still exist and they don't drink coffee.
" Okay so I ordered a classic double cheeseburger, fries and a coke float " you informed as you chomp hungrily on the burger making your cheeks stuffed, your puffed cheeks looked so adorable in Steve's eyes.
He stares at you lovingly as he wipes the crumbs off the side of your mouth. You choke on the burger as you were caught off guard by Steve's gesture. Steve panicked and immediately gave you his drink as yours were empty, sitting beside you as he rubs your back. The two laughed as you regained composure after almost dying because of a burger.
his personal tech whiz
Steve didn't know much about the modern technology the 21st century provided. He still preferred the vehicles from the forties specially his sweet bike unfortunately is now owned by the government and is kept in the Smithsonian. It was stupid that they couldn't give it to him, it's technically his.
" so you just click it? "
" as far as I know that's how cameras work Stevie "
You blink as Steve clicks his phone with a flash that captures you in surprise. The look on your face in the picture made Steve giggle.
" Steve you kinda have to warn people when you take a picture of them or else you get a lawsuit "
" Fine, you take a picture of us " He says handing you the small white rectangular phone.
Steve's heart leaped from his chest as you pulled him closer with your arm on his shoulder. The soft strands of your hair tickles the exposed skin of his neck as you put your head close to his. He swore he could smell the vanilla shampoo you were using as your head was so close to his.
" so I can basically watch anything here? "
" cute animal videos to how to fix your car is all uploaded on that app "
You grinned wide while wiping one of the coffee mugs as you see Steve hold the small phone with both his large hands, a big smile etched on his face as he watches a compilation of animal videos.
you give him comfort
You being Steve's genuine friend meant a lot to him, even if he knew in the back if his head that he should tell you who he really is. The guilt became harder to bear as the days went by and as a month passed, Steve felt the ghost of his mother nagging him for lying to a sweet girl such as yourself.
Steve knew he had issues, even before going down with the Valkyrie and being frozen for seventy years. He still hasn't processed everything, it felt as if time kept moving and he was unable to ever catch up. From technology that he couldn't grasp how it works to pop culture references he couldn't understand, but at least you were there.
He knew you saw the oddness of his personality, he's thankful you never said a word about it even if it was obvious that you just wanted to ask why the hell he didn't know all these things. He appreciates the way you explain the jokes he couldn't phantom.
" Do you ever feel like you don't belong? " Steve said with a serious tone as you both sat at the park bench while sipping coffee
" lot's of times but you know what's good with us not belonging anywhere " You said as you put an arm around Steve's broad shoulders
" what? "
" we can be lost together, that's the point of having a friend Steve, you're not alone, you should remember that " you said with a smile as you flick his forehead
He didn't react for a second but as you saw his devilish smile you stood up quickly as you ran. He puts down his empty coffee cup as he starts to chase you around the park.
The two laughed as they ran around the park with the sun shining brightly against the clear blue sky. Bubbles floated around with different dogs running wild, Steve's scenery with you and the park felt so peaceful, he swore he could stay there forever.
It's already noon when Steve saw you got tired already, still laughing as you suggested that you and him should just lay down and stare at the sky as clouds formed against the pinkish yellow sky.
" that one look likes a baby "
" looks more like a jelly bean "
The Best Days Are Sunny [ 3/8 ]
every movie is funnier with you
Not that you were annoyed but you couldn't take it that Steve didn't know all the good films you've been referencing.
" Here " You said as you slid a small burgundy notebook towards Steve across the marble top of the coffee shop.
" It's a notebook??? "
" write all the stuff I recommend there and watch some of them without me "
" look, you gotta catch up with the greatest films and songs of all time! " You exclaimed, putting your hands in the hair dramatically.
Steve smiles as he takes the small notebook and opens it while writing his name on the first page.
You dictated a couple things that Steve immediately wrote so that he'd be more informed of the modern world. He asked about the most famous things you knew, well more like what every person should know if they were living in the year 2011. You didn't think much of it and just said random things that came into mind.
Inside Steve's notebook—
Moon Landing
Steve Jobs ( Apple )
Thai Food
Star Wars / Trek
My Chemical Romance ( band )
Grey's Anatomy ( TV Show )
Rocky ( Rocky II?? )
Mean Girls ( movie )
Legally Blonde ( Legally blonde 2 )
The two fell into a routine of every Friday night they'd watch one movie, one movie that either you loved or would love to watch. Even if sometimes Steve found the movie you picked odd, he wouldn't complain because you made every bad movie enjoyable by simply watching it with him.
headcanons of how movie nights go with Steve as your boyfriend
this is like both a headcanon and a drabble lol
image
Steve would always let you choose the movie you two would watch because he'd want to know the movies that would make you happy.
You'd wear one of his oversized shirts which miraculously he does have along his extra small shirts that he insists on wearing plus his boxers that you'd use as shorts.
He'd hover over your form as you prepare the snacks, he'd back hug you with his head resting on your neck as the two of you waited for the popcorn to be microwaved.
He loves listening to the little facts you have before and after watching the movie, the actor did his own stunts? wow they actually used melted plastic for the special effects? that's cool the whole background was cgi? impossible!
It was absolutely the same for you, you loved watching the expression Steve made as you explained that some of the stuff in the movie wasn't real, especially when you tell him it wasn't actually raining in that scene in The Notebook.
In return he'd be the one to tell the inaccuracies of the movie in case it was based on the forties or the war, he'd tell more of his own war stories midway though.
The large couch would be filled with pillows and and two fluffy blankets that would end up on the floor while the two of you cuddled for more warmth ignoring the blankets that were thrown away.
You'd love it whenever he gets scared and cuddles closer to your side. His warm body would squeeze you tighter as his hands were already wrapped around you.
Steve would try to cover his eyes with his hands as you would always make him watch horror movies but not being able to resist watching the scary movie anyways.
You did have to convince him that not every vhs tape is haunted, he'd probably be able to beat the girl from The Ring anyways. You also might have just made him more phone phobic than he already is, after that.
" the phone is not gonna get you Rogers "
" you don't know that! "
" babe we watched the movie not the tape! "
He also wouldn't be afraid to cry with you when the movies are that depressing. You and Steve would cry so much while watching Me Before You.
Steve couldn't ask for a better view of you resting on his shoulder as your eyes were stuck on the wide television, some popcorn stuck on your hair that made him silently snort. A wide grin etched on his face as thinks that this, this was it, this would be all he needs in his life.
" we should do this every Friday "
" movies? we can even do it everyday babe "
" no, I mean like officially, Fridays are for movie nights, just us and a big bowl of popcorn "
" Bucky and Sam are gonna be heartbroken we don't invite them " you joked as you ate another piece of popcorn
" they can have their own movie night doll "
" okay, we'll do movie marathons every Friday, except when the world's about to end "
" I'd love to watch a movie with you as the world ends, doll "
" shut up, you sap " you reply laughing as you throw a popcorn on his face
The two of you would also have a game of catching popcorn with your mouths, one would throw a piece as the other would catch it with their mouth while they're in a far away distance.
Steve's the type to genuinely love any type of Christmas movie and would insist on wearing ugly Christmas sweaters even when it's summer.
He would love Home Alone, but would also voice out his concerns on how irresponsible Kevin's parents are. He'd be so happy knowing there was a sequel.
After every movie night there would be popcorn everywhere, from the couch to the floor and even as far as the bedroom.
The two of you would always just end up falling asleep on the couch anyways, an empty bowl of popcorn still on your lap as the two of you cuddle on the large sofa till the sun rises.
The Beard Needs To Go
the beard needs to go
PAIRING—steve rogers x gf!reader
SUMMARY—You badly want to be the one who shaves Steve's beard off
WARNINGS—pure fluff, allusions to sexy times but no actual smut, the plot is mostly about Steve's beard lol
A/N—random but this was inspired by that scene of Me Before You where Will let's Lou shave his beard, also that movie will never not break me , pure heartbreak! 😭😭
image
In the bathroom, infront of the mirror as the morning sun rose, the couple found themselves in a very difficult situation, well you found it difficult.
" do we have to? "
" we have to ... "
" but I love your beard! and it's great in the bedroom! " You whined while cupping his face, his beard slightly tickling the palm of your hands. You sat on the counter, back against the mirror as Steve's hands rested on your hips.
" so you just love it because it makes the sex good? " Steve asked with a laugh, teasingly while tilting his head on the side.
" of course not, I love it because it makes you and the sex hotter " You reply with enthusiasm and a teasing grin in return as Steve chuckles back.
" glad to know, but unfortunately it has to go, so say goodbye because I'm shaving it tonight baby " He said with fake sadness in his tone as he sighs while cupping your face and giving your soft lips a long kiss.
" nooo! at least let me shave it "
" absolutely not "
" oh come on! please babe?? " you beg lightly while doing puppy dog eyes paired with your cute lips pouting hoping to persuade the super soldier.
" yeah that's not working " He exits the bathroom leaving you pouting as you sit on the counter top.
" bring me coffee! " You shout as you hear the bedroom door close. Steve's always the one who makes breakfast and your favorite coffee will always be the one made by him.
The rest of the day goes on with you trying your best to persuade Steve to let you shave his beard. Even as the two of you drank the morning coffee you still annoyed him with the question of let me shave off your beard?
image
The couple chose to go to a mall, having a mall date for the rest of the afternoon. You bought some clothes for both Steve and yourself even if he insisted he didn't need any more clothes. You even bought a couple pairs of lingerie that you knew he would enjoy, secretly that is for the surprise effect. Steve bought a couple of art supplies, hoping to start painting more for the rest of his technically retirement days.
You and Steve chose to eat at a pizza shop that wasn't too busy, a big plate of cheesy pizza paired with two glasses of cold cola.
" my beard so long I have to pick food out of it "
" I could pick the food out of it for you! "
" you're joking "
" I'm totally joking " You say with a laugh as you continue taking a bite out of your cheesy pizza slice.
image
Steve was washing the dishes after dinner, the plain white tee he wore getting splashed a bit by the water. He turned off the faucet as he had done half of the dirty dishes.
" Oh Steve~ " You say in a sing-song tune as you untie your robe in which you had nothing underneath catching the blonde Captain who was washing the dishes off-guard, the dirty dishes now abandoned.
He quickly captures your lips with a deep moan as you giggle, almost stumbling back with the impact of his large body. His large hands immediately held on tightly to your waist, lifting you up with no effort as he leads the two of you to the bedroom.
image
As you calm your breath after the great countless orgams, you rest your head on his bare chest with a smile while your hands wrap around his torso and his arms wrap automatically around your shoulders. The two of you smile with bliss as the two of you even out your breathings, still a bit red and sweaty from the tiring activity.
" You did that to convince me to let you shave my beard didn't you? " Steve says after a couple minutes with a little laugh at the end. He gripped your form tighter as his head rested on top of yours.
" would you let me shave it now? " Of course it wasn't about that but your eyes are still filled with hope as you ask him about shaving his beard. You were sad he wants it gone but you should be atleast the one to get rid of it.
" fine, I'll let you "
" I love you "
" I love you too " He replies kissing you back as you smile with his lips attached to yours.
image
The two were back to the position they were the previous morning after getting dressed, not the one they did on the bed much to Steve's dismay but he did find it cute how much you wanted to be the one to shave his beard and so he caved. It gave him a big domestic feeling as he looked down on your hands that were applying shaving cream.
" you're really going to do it? " Steve asked but saying it as more of a fact as you were done applying the shaving cream on half his face.
" I—I'm really gonna do this " you say nervously as you get rid of the brush you used to apply the cream for his beard. You giggle with nervousness as you slowly inch the razor closer to his face.
" just don't shave my eyebrows off, baby "
" trust the professional Rogers "
" I'm serious, don't " he said sternly but with an obvious hint of playfulness as he points a finger at you in which you point elsewhere going back to focusing on the task at hand.
He closed his eyes, his brows furrowed slightly but relaxing a second later. He trusts you with his life, completely but maybe not much on shaving his beard.
You smile in victory as you successfully shaved a part of his beard in one stroke, a bit of a stubble left behind as his beard was quite thick. Steve opened his eyes a couple times, seeing you so concentrated that the tip of your tongue stuck out made him smile in which you grumble that his smile made you distracted.
Many trips of the razor to the bowl of water, you completely shaved off the two years worth of beard that Steve grew out. You grin widely with your success, putting down the razor on the counter as you made Steve open his eyes.
" please tell me you didn't shave my eyebrows off " He asked teasingly, looking at you before looking at himself in the mirror. Traces of shaving cream left that he carefully wiped away using a clean cloth.
" nice job, doll " He said with a big smile that could reach his ocean blue eyes and continued with a quick peck to your lips. You smile after the quick kiss as you rest your head on his shoulder. Your hands are sneaking on both his sides, clasping your hands together to give him one big hug.
" I told you baby, a professional "
right where you left me
PAIRING—steve rogers x avenger!fem!reader
SUMMARY—Steve finally askes you out for a dinner date but as you sat patiently at the restaurant, where was Steve?
WARNINGS—angst, steve being a jerk, no happy ending, kinda more focused on reader
A/N—idk if this is considered a song fic but some of the lyrics of Taylor's song is written in-between paragraphs so...
part 2 still a wip!
image
Matches burn after the other
Pages turn and stick to each other
Wages earned and lessons learned
But I, I'm right where you left me
The warm lights of the restaurant were supposed to make you feel cozy but contrary to what you were feeling, you felt anxious, nervous and everything all at once. It's been more than thirty minutes and Steve was still nowhere to be found. The agreed time was 7 pm and it's already close to 7:40. The slow pouring rain made your situation much more gloomy.
The anxiousness became worse as more minutes passed, Steve wasn't answering any of your texts or any of your calls. Your breathing got heavy as you clasped your hands together trying to keep your cool, deep down you were feeling scared that something bad happened to Steve. You didn't think much about what people might think of you at the moment, a beautiful woman who's sitting miserably at a cozy restaurant; alone. All you could think about is—where's Steve?
Help, I'm still at the restaurant
Still sitting in a corner I haunt
Cross-legged in the dim light
They say, "What a sad sight"
It was supposed to be a fantastic night for you because finally your long time crush Steve Rogers, Captain America finally asked you out on a date though from everyone's perspective you were totally in love with the man. You wouldn't deny that, you fought with him, bled for him and almost sacrificed everything you had for him. It was obvious but maybe not to him. You are undeniably, truly, completely and unconditionally in love with him.
You're a beautiful woman, that's what you believed but it did catch you off-guard that Steve suddenly asked you out on a date. Who wouldn't? But you've been his friend for years and you believed for the longest time Steve was always gonna love one woman and that being the one and only Peggy Carter or maybe his actual ex-girlfriend who he broke up with almost a year ago, his first love's niece, the impressive and beautiful agent Sharon Carter.
You felt pure euphoric happiness and countless butterflies danced in your stomach, it felt like a million fireworks erupted in your heart when Steve decided to ask you out. You remembered every part of that day, that night—that second that he dropped the ball and asked you the million dollar question like it was yesterday, well it was actually yesterday.
[ flashback ]
" report's suck don't they? "
" and here I thought being Captain America would excuse me from the paperwork " Steve chuckled as you sat beside him with your own reports.
" oh please your hobby is reading reports "
" I never said I liked writing them "
" well I guess were the only responsible ones here seeing as you have Natasha's pile and I have Tony's "
" more time to spend with me " Steve smirked as you breath a nervous laugh as his words caught you off-guard
" my, my Captain America being cocky? "
" don't deny it, you love my company sweetheart " Steve responds as he confidently holds your chin between his pointer finger and thumb, tilting it slightly as he makes you look at his breathtaking blue eyes. Your breath hitched momentarily.
You scoffed, turning away from him not believing Steve was actually being flirty with you.
" oh yes because everybody's dying for your presence, Oh? Mr. Rogers, would you please sign my chest? " You asked while doing a slightly higher pitched voice, you didn't want to make Steve think he can just play with you. You played along with his flirty antics as you suddenly opened your jacket making Steve choke on air which was your plan. You weren't wearing a revealing top but the action definitely caught Steve off-guard.
You laughed like an old man, having difficulty breathing as you laughed at the expression Steve did after your little stunt, his red face made you laugh uncontrollably and made you a coughing mess.
" you're not gonna win whatever game you're playing Rogers " You said as you went back to your reports, calming yourself from the laughing while Steve coughed to catch your attention once more.
" What if I wasn't playing a game? "
" Then what's with the random flirting Captain? planning on trying those moves on someone? "
" yes actually, you " He replies with no hesitation, you would've laughed if it wasn't for the serious expression he wore.
" —would you give me the honor of taking you out on a dinner date? " Steve continued as you fell silent, internally you were screaming and your heart immediately beat faster than normal as his words found your ears.
" Yes ... YES! of course " You reply with a smile, and seeing the wide grin on his face made you blush madly.
I, I swear you could hear a hair pin drop
Right when I felt the moment stop
Glass shattered on the white cloth
Everybody moved on
I, I stayed there
Dust collected on my pinned-up hair
You catch yourself smiling as you remember the events of yesterday's evening. You reminisced the comfortable silence that happened after, wide grins as the two of you did reports you didn't want to but the worst news came as you opened your phone that had a notification from Natasha. You smiled momentarily as you saw her name flash on the lock screen but your face fell immediately as you read the words she sent.
she's back
Those words made your legs feel weak as more anxiety filled your mind and your heart felt like it was slowly being chipped away by the tools used in carving stones.
please tell me it's not who I think it is
yup, Sharon's back and she went to Steve like she did nothing!
is Steve with her?
You hesitantly typed, scared of what the answer to the questions that naturally floated in your head might be. Different thoughts came to mind but you didn't want to judge Steve, he would never ditch you for his ex, not without informing you first in case he did. Wouldn't he?
Yeah ... He's with her, I'm sorry
Natasha answered, making you shut your eyes hoping everything was a dream and that the special blue dress you wore wasn't for nothing. Your eyes felt teary just as a waiter went to you asking if you needed assistance in which you replied with one bottle of wine, please. You hoped that maybe Steve would come to you after he talked to Sharon, that is if that's the only thing he was doing with her. That tiny hope ran out as you've realized you've been sitting at the cozy, warm restaurant alone and pathetically for three hours straight, you've finished the red wine long ago. Now, you just sat quietly and glanced outside where the rain stopped and the streets shined as the countless puddles reflected the street lights and shop signs.
You stayed there until the staff had to ask you to leave unless you actually ordered a meal but you didn't have the stomach to eat anything as you were just ditched by Steve, Steve the golden boy just ditched you for his bitch of an ex-girlfriend without even telling anything.
Right where you left me
You left me no, oh, you left me no
You left me no choice but to stay here forever
You left me, you left me no, oh, you left me no
You left me no choice but to stay here forever
You hailed a cab quickly after exiting the restaurant, you couldn't just walk in your state. You weren't drunk but you were probably tipsy enough to trip over nothing. The elderly cab driver dropped you off in front of the tower. You held your heels in one hand and your coat hanging loosely on your shoulders. The guard immediately let you in as he recognized you. You were sadly met by nobody inside the compound as you entered, not Steve—nobody. You knew Natasha went out for her nightly jog while the others you thought were just busy doing their own stuff.
You contemplated whether or not you'll confront Steve tonight. A couple minutes passed as you sat on the couch of the living area of the tower, your thoughts consuming you as you sat silently.
With a huff of a breath you stood up, shrugging your coat as you walked barefoot on the cold floor of the tower. You pressed the fifth floor where Steve's room is located, the ding of the elevator distracted you from your thoughts.
At the restaurant, when I was still the one you want
Cross-legged in the dim light, everything was just right
I, I could feel the mascara run
You told me that you met someone
The sound of your heart shattering was all you could hear as you watched the view In front of you—Steve and Sharon fricking Carter making out. Steve was kissing Sharon Infront of his door as she was about to leave when he heard the elevator open and there you stand, looking gorgeous in a silk blue dress. You stood pathetically in a blue dress that you wore for what would've been your date with Steve but instead you see him kissing another woman.
You momentarily spaced out, you didn't know what happened after but suddenly Steve was Infront of you and Sharon was nowhere to be found.
" Y/N! " Your eyes snap to Steve as they were previously gazing on the floor.
" So yesterday was really just a game huh? " You asked with a laugh even as your heart broke more that it already was, even if you knew that it was Sharon who owned his heart. You confidently looked at him straight in the eyes with your teary ones.
" Y/N I—Sharon was just here and she wanted to get back together and to be honest I still kinda have feelings for ... her " Steve tried to explain, failing as he saw the disappointment on your face, he knew it was an asshole move to ditch you but Sharon just knew how to keep him from leaving, to pull him back into their own little world.
He did genuinely like you, he did but Sharon made him think that she's the one, the only woman who'll truly make him happy and he stupidly believed that. His mind desperately believed Sharon and him were meant to be, that the break up was just a test on their relationship even as his heart silently shouted your name. He just didn't see how perfect you were for him.
" of course, it's always going to be her, she's perfect—she's a Carter after all " You brokenly said, sadness and jealousy evident in your voice. A bitter tone encasing your words as you felt rage.
" I liked you , I really do, you're a beautiful woman but Sharon is just ... and you’ll find someone better than me " Steve said while trying to hold your hand but you turned away completely giving him a cold shoulder.
" I understand perfectly Steve, you owe me no loyalty and that's okay—I guess I just expected more from you " your voice low as all your disappointment and heartbreak was put into words.
" No, i-its, I know that was not respectful of me to just leave you hanging and ditching our date but Sharon was just suddenly here and then she just kissed me and I—I caved, look I know this looks bad but— "
" Again, it's my mistake to have high expectations and if you'll excuse me I had a whole bottle of wine so I feel a bit sleepy, goodnight Steven " You replied as you quickly turned away from him and wiped the tears that threatened to fall.
“ Y/N … shit “ you heard Steve mutter as you entered the elevator but you ignored his words as you felt so close to breaking down, maybe you fell for him more than you realized as you felt like your heart was shattered to a thousand pieces.
I'm right where you left me
You left me no, oh, you left me no
You left me no choice but to stay here forever
You quickly walked out on Steve, the elevator ride felt like forever and as you unlocked your room you immediately dropped down on the floor. A deep sigh came out of your lips as you rested your head on the large metal door of your room, tears immediately escaping your eyes.
" how could I be so stupid!? God! , you just had to fall in love with someone like him huh? yes, how could little ol' me be ever good enough for the great Captain America, Sharon’s just perfect so—perfect and she’s beautiful ... she's gorgeous "
" How could Steve not love her? "
You talked to yourself hoping Steve wouldn't hear it with his super hearing ability. You sat and stared at the ceiling questioning how stupid it was to actually think Steve was a perfect guy, well not perfect but you at least expected that he wasn't a jerk like the other guy's you've dated.
You didn't know how long you stayed on the floor crying as you felt intense heartbreak, ironic that he wasn't even yours to lose, but you stayed there crying your heart out—probably longer than the time you spent waiting at the restaurant.
